Cathleen Rehfeld an oil painter love doing small daily oil paintings. They have an immediate freshness about them. Whatever you are thinking about that day goes into them, almost like a visual diary. She love the creamy color and intense luscious look of oil paint, making brushstrokes that bring out that quality in the paint and try new ideas, colors, and subject matter.
I love asymmetrical oak trees. The ones that don't look like lollypops... And pink skies. This is inspired by our recent painting sessions at the Cathedral Ridge Winery. I took some reference photos of the oak tree and the blue hills behind it.
