Scribe-turned-pastor Joseph Kabuleta was last Friday whisked away in a private owned vehicle registration number UBB 459D while at Drew & Jacs Patisserie Restaurant at Forest Mall, Lugogo in Kampala
The Police came out with a statement agreeing that they were aware of his arrest and whereabouts. They also confirmed that it was because of his sensitive statements through his ‘Joseph Kabuleta Weekly Rant’ series of rants attacking the president of Uganda, that led him into trouble.
“This is to inform that a team of detectives from Special Investigations Division has today arrested Joseph Kabuleta, a self-styled pastor and put him into custody,” read a document that Fred Enanga, the press and public relations officer Uganda Police issued out.
As Kabuleta remains in custody, social media has since Friday been on fire with some users advocating for his release. Among them is motor mouthed political critic Andrew Mwenda
Andrew surprised social media users when he took to his official Twitter account to condemn the arrest of the arrest of the ‘The Watchman Ministries’ fonder Kabuleta
“The arrest of Joseph Kabuleta for “offending the president” is archaic, intolerable and unacceptable! Ugandans have every right to offend the president. They hire him to serve them. They should be free to express their anger at how he is running the country justifiably or not!” Read Mwenda’s Tweet
Mwenda’s Tweet gave birth to mixed feelings from Twitter users. “Offend the president not the pipo in his house, u hire the president not his entire family, offend the president with a realistic opinion with facts or ground not baseless attacks” One Twitter user replied to Mwenda
“When it’s Kabuleta, the law is archaic. When its Stella Nyanzi, she deserves it. Ugandans!” Another user Tweeted.
According to a statement from The Watchman Ministries, it said that close members, ministry officials and doctors were able to locate Kabuleta at Special Investigation Division headquarters in Kireka but unfortunately he was denied access to meet his legal team
A few days ago, last Wednesday to be exact, controversial Pastor Aloysius Bugingo came out and disclosed information about the haemorrhage disease his wife and mother of his children Teddy Bujingo was suffering from a couple of years back.
The statements angered so many women in that they called different bodies including the Parliament, UCC and the police to come out and act accordingly.
However,on Saturday, the Salt Media proprietor and CEO come out and apologized over his statements, saying that he was misquoted. He however revealed that his apology came from his willing heart not public pressure though.
“There is something I’ve been praying about since last night. Last Wednesday, I spoke without intending to hurt or annoy any person especially a woman. I didn’t intend to hurt the mother of my children, my wife, I didn’t intend to hurt any woman. Not at all,” he said while addressing his congregation.
Bugingo further added that in so many testimonies he has been sharing, beating and insulting a woman is one of the worst things a man can ever do.
“I have always preached that a man with a lazy mind will always fight with a woman and a woman should not be beaten because if you beat a woman it means that you have beaten your mother.”
He also explained that in his line of work, there are mothers, wives and girls so he can never wish to offend a woman but what he said about his wife Teddy was in reference to what she personally said in her testimony

Former journalist-turned-pastor Joseph Kabuleta was on Friday evening whisked away in a private owned vehicle registration number UBB 459D as he was heading to UMA Upper Grounds for his ‘The Watchman Fellowship’.
The Police came out with a statement regarding Joseph Kabuleta agreeing that they are aware of his ware bouts. They also confirmed that it was because of his derogatory statements that led him into trouble.
“This is to inform that a team of detectives from Special Investigations Division has today arrested Joseph Kabuleta, a self-styled pastor and put him into custody,” reads a document that Fred Enanga, the press and public relations officer Uganda Police issued out.
The statement further reveals that he was arrested because of offensive communications against the person of the president.
“According to preliminary information, the writer repeatedly posted grossly offensive messages under “Joseph Kabuleta Weekly Rant Returns” referring to the Fountain of Honor as “a Gambler, Thief and Liar.”.This according to Section 25 of the Computer Misuse Act 2011 is not allowed.
They also warned the public that any posting of false fabrications on social media will attract punishment in accordance with the laws.
Kabuleta is a seasoned sports journalist who later became a huge follower of Prophet Elvis Mbonye. He was criticized some years back for kissing Mbonye’s shoes in what seemed like an attempt of worshiping him as a god. His whereabouts remain unknown since his arrest on Friday
We have been hearing stories that when a person travels abroad, they are completely different when they return. Fresh Kid who has been in Dubai and Abu Dhabi for the last couple of days came back on Thursday but it looks like he hasn’t been getting any feedback home.
Ever since he left, his father, one Mutabazi Paul, now Fresh Daddy has been the talk in the entertainment industry after he took to Dancehall singer Aganaga’s Bad Character Studio to record a song dubbed ‘Mazike’ which was released and premiered it in a space of just three days.
On his return, the 7-year-old was asked in an interview with a local TV station whether he knows or heard of his his father’s tune that has already become a point of talk in public but his answer shocked us.
“What is ‘Mazike’. I don’t know about that,” was his reply before going to say his signature statement. “Eyo Tuveeyo” loosely translated as ‘Let us leave that topic”.
Fresh Kid and his father have not been on the best of terms as ever since he took custody of him, something that he (Fresh Kid) didn’t welcome. because he doesn’t get access to studio and performances like before when he was staying with his mother as well as his manager one Francis.
Uganda Cranes are finally back home after an impressive showcase during the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations where they were eliminated in the last 16 teams. Among the best performers in this tournament was Denis Onyango, the goalkeeper and captain of the national team
With the tournament well out of the way, some people are worried on what the South Africa side Sundowns’ stopper is going to do next now that age is really not on his side when it comes to football
Onyango is said to be 34 years and a lot of questions have been asked on when he will retire. Basing on the fact that goalkeepers can go up to 40 years, he said that retirement is a decision that he can’t make alone.
“I still haven’t decided whether I’m going to retire after this or not but having been at the top level, I have to speak to some people about it. I feel I can still go six more years playing but that is something I’m still thinking about,” Said Onyango in an interview.
Asked who thinks will walk away victorious in the ongoing tournament, Onyango predicted Algeria ahead of teams like Senegal, South Africa, Nigeria and Tunisia among others.
“I think Algeria has an edge over the rest of the teams. They are united and experienced and with such a tournament, this is very key. So I think Algeria will be winning this year’s Afcon.” Said Onyango
Events host and TV presenter MC Kats is one of the people who are not pleased with rapper Fresh Kid’s father Fresh Daddy joining the music industry.
The NBS TV ‘After 5’ show co-host lashed out at Dancehall artiste Khalifa Aganaga for forcing Fresh Daddy to join the the industry during a time when they fighting so hard to bring copyright law into use.
“We are trying to go to parliament for copyright and we start seeing bullshit like this. Noo Aganaga if you are trying to fight us, we shall press delete we lose nothing,” Kats said last night while at Wave Lounge, Kololo where Aganaga was seen trying to use crude means to get Fresh Daddy to perform
He also advised Khalifa to stick to politics or go try out his luck in comedy with his artiste. “You are not going to force us listen to your things. Just stick to politics. Just go to politics or comedy. You are not going to play with us like that, That is our money, our years, our sweat and you are coming from nowhere to f**k it up.”
Kats’ point of view comes from the fact that he is a big stakeholder in the entertainment industry. He is an artiste manager, a veteran TV host and an emcee.
He involved Khalifa Aganaga in his rant because he is currently managing Fresh Daddy by the look of things and their bond grew after offering him studio time at his Bad Character studio where he released his first ever ‘Mazike’ song.
