Weekly horoscopes will start back up in March, I hope that these monthly horoscopes can serve you until then. Please remember that horoscopes are meant to be read as inspiration. If you know both your rising sign and sun sign, please read both horoscopes. They both contain important information. Take what works for you, leave the rest. If you want to share this work you must quote it and link it to this post and website. Thank you for your support and for spreading the work around. We really appreciate it and you!

February begins on the highest, fullest note possible: in the midst of eclipse season. As January came to an end, the total lunar eclipse punctuated the first, and opened the second, month of 2018. The eclipse that occurred on January 31st is the first of two eclipses. The second is a solar eclipse that happens at 1:06 PM PT on February 15th, at 27° of Aquarius.

Eclipse season isn’t something to take lightly, but its messages are, more often than not, misunderstood. Expecting giant events to take place on the day of an astronomical event isn’t a failsafe or helpful way to work with astrological information.

Every astrological occurrence is part of a larger unfolding.

Eclipses are no different. Because they occur over a period of time in the same signs (which equates to the same house, or area of your life), we need to consider the entire time period as a framework for unpacking their message and meaning.

We just experienced the 3rd of 5 eclipses in Leo. The 1st occurred on February 10th, 2017 and the 2nd on August 21st, 2017. Think back to these time periods and consider the house that these eclipses are taking place in (if you need a reminder, check your January horoscope, but make sure to read your rising sign if you know it for the most accurate information). Because the eclipses in Leo are north node eclipses, the general theme of them will be about something in this area of your life increasing. Events around the north node can teach us about our hunger, our greed and our wanting. Some of it helps us to achieve great things, while some of it disturbs our ability to experience contentment. Each eclipse will most likely teach you a little about both.  Remember that we are only a little more than half way through the story. The next eclipse in Leo will occur on August 11th, 2018 and the last will occur on January 21st, 2019.

The 1st of a series of 4 eclipses in Aquarius began on August 18th, 2016 (this was an incredibly mild eclipse however, which some wouldn’t count as significant at all); the 2nd occurred on August 7th, 2017; the third will take place this month, on February 15th; and the 4th and final one will occur on July 27th, 2018. The eclipses in Aquarius are happening around the south node of the moon. The south node helps us to empty out, drain or release something from our lives. Their teaching is about letting go of control and allowing something bigger than ourselves to work through us. More spiritual in nature than the north node (which can tend to be a little more materially inclined), south node eclipses can help to bring us back to what truly matters most. Check your horoscope below (remember to read your rising sign, if you know it, for the most accurate information) to consider what these eclipses might be trying to communicate to you.

For those with Aquarius rising, one or more of these eclipses may impact your energy, your motivation, and your appearance, in some way revealing what you need to let go of in order to live more authentically according to this moment in your life. For those with sun in Aquarius, one or all of these eclipses may be helping you to shed a layer of your identity. Something slowly peels away from the persona so that more of you is revealed. For those with moon in Aquarius, one or more of these eclipses may teach you something important about the nature of your body, its needs, and its wisdom. Remember that any planet or point within a couple of degrees of an eclipse will be the most impacted. For this eclipse, it would be planets or points between 25°-29° of Aquarius.

In general, we might want to use the eclipse on February 15th to ask ourselves what is unworthy of the space it takes up in our hearts, lives, and especially our minds. Aquarius, the Water Bearer, is the bringer of cool, thirst-quenching and refreshing libations. Usually given out in the form of innovative ideas and humanitarian gestures, Aquarius brings us back to our senses.

This eclipse aims to help us do the same.

Sextiling Uranus and Mars, this eclipse has the ability to help us to create change. To not only disrupt what has become stagnant, but also to create space for new information to flow to us and through us.

The rest of the month is fairly fluid. No retrogrades occur. No major clashes of the titans take place.

Mars moves through Sagittarius for all of February and half of March, heating up the part of our chart that contains the free-wheeling fire sign. Mars brings with it the opportunity to work with conflict, but also to move with courage towards what needs our action and energy. Mars is in Jupiter’s sign now, and Jupiter is in Mars’s. They aren’t natural friends. Jupiter opens up new terrain for us to traverse and Mars fights for its own (or invades that of others). But their swapping of domiciles helps us to find a balance between the two. Which opportunities for growth come with a little conflict and how might that thorn in your side teach you how to thrive?

Venus also spends some time in a Jupiter ruled sign. Traveling through Pisces, the sign of its exaltation, Venus works its wonders. Here from February 10th through March 6th, Venus delights in all pleasures imaginable. Venus in Pisces will help us to connect, create and combine what we love with what we wish to make more of. Incredibly fertile, Venus in Pisces proliferates, so make sure that you are creating what you want a lot of.

Aries & Aries Rising

Love comes into your life this month through the wisdom of those around you. Seek the counsel of elders in your life that choose maturity over conformity. Surround yourself with those that do the hard work and heavy lifting of becoming masters of themselves. Make sure that you are in contact with those that know how to withstand public pressure and are true to themselves no matter the popularity it will win or lose them.

The solar eclipse on February 15th reminds you of how important it is to reorganize your social sphere every once in a while. You might need to cleanse your event calendar. Declutter your cohort of colleagues. Realign yourself with the groups and community projects that are a top priority and let the rest, rest for now.

Pay attention to the essentials and save the extra time for your own development.

With Mars in your 9th house of learning, teaching, traveling and seeking out the meaning that makes life worth living, there are many directions pulling at you. This is a time when your efforts and your visions align. Don’t hold yourself back when thinking about your future. Don’t hem yourself in when pondering what is possible for you. Don’t get stuck thinking that you have to stick within a certain course of action.

This is a time for you to color outside the lines.

Let yourself imagine what else might be possible, what you might be missing, what you might be cutting yourself off from for fear of failure or rejection. Then move beyond the fear to sense what might be a workable solution for you.

When all else fails, pray. Do ritual. Do ceremony. Do something that reminds you that what is up to you can be done by you, but what is out of your control is being held by something holy. Be in contact with it.

With Venus in your 12th house of hidden life, good feelings come from the inner work you are able to do. Luxuriate in any peace that you have been able to create within you. Try not to explain it. Dissect it. Deconstruct it. Just appreciate it as much as you can. Like a secret joy. Like something you have for yourself. Like something no one can change, challenge or destroy.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

Love yourself enough to know when to edit. Revise. Rework your big plans for life. What version of your career is outdated? What vision of your professional life is in need of a review? What aspects of your professional aspirations are no longer filling you with energy, drive or determination?

It’s OK to change your mind. It’s OK to set a new intention for your work in the world. It’s OK if the job/title/situation in your dream scenario is morphing and meandering into some new shape.

Shapeshifting is what eclipse season is about.

The solar eclipse on February 15th occurs in your 10th house of career and reputation. The thing about this kind of eclipse is that it wants to help you release what isn’t serving your long-term progress.

Exfoliate your professional dreams and goals, scrub clean their true purpose, and reveal the simple message you need to put forth so it might prosper. Use this eclipse to (re)commit to it.

Just before the eclipse takes place, Venus, your ruling planet, begins its month-long excursion through your 11th house of good fortune and friends. Here from February 10th – March 6th, Venus brings you many pleasures and opportunities to connect to those that want to and are capable of supporting your professional ambitions in generative and generous ways. A mutual benefit wants to happen here, so instead of looking up, think of how you can build across your social networks. Who in your groups is also clarifying their purpose and working towards things that align with your aims? With Mars spending the next month and a half in your 8th house of shared resources, it’s the perfect time to get fired up about the right collaborations. You don’t want just any kind of partnership, you want the ones that will be of the greatest mutual benefit possible.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

This month’s solar eclipse sees to it that you remember your right to love your life. Whatever ideas you have developed that get in the way of you knowing that need to go. This eclipse will help you to purge yourself of such sentiments, but it won’t do the heavy lifting for you. It’s up to you to rework your more difficult thought patterns. Your more burdensome beliefs. Your less forgiving philosophies.

Our suffering can situate us in such a way that we are more appreciative of the moments of clarity and conscious awareness that visits us. It can help us to study, in greater depth, the beauty that lives in-between striving for what we want and attaining it. It can help us to remember that planning out parts of our life is important, but that listening to how life demands to be lived at any given moment is a more pressing directive to be aware of.

February’s eclipse affirms some plans while doing away with others. Let your schedule be un-done by the gods of change. You might find that certain goals have different end games in mind than you are interested in achieving. There is no failure in this, only the success of being able to be true to the moment and what it is asking of you.

And it is asking great things of you.

With Venus in your 10th house of career from February 10th through March 6th, your professional position is incredibly favorable. Folks will want to work with you, for you, and alongside you more readily.

Choose your partners well.

This isn’t a make it or break it transit, but it is one that can grease the wheel in such a way that it sends you in an important direction. Notice the career strides that you make this month. Notice what was easy. Enjoyable. Pleasing to your spirit.

With Mars in your 7th house of committed partnerships, you’ll be asked to learn a little more about the fine art of arguing. Just make sure that you are clear about one thing in your relationships: would you rather rather be right or would you rather be happy?

Sometimes you can’t be both. Sometimes the only right thing to do is be gracious. Reserve your energy for the fights that really matter.

For more information on how the astrology of 2018, including this month’s solar eclipse, will impact your sign, I’ve got a 1 hour recording for you in 2018: The Year Ahead For Your Sign.

Cancer & Cancer Rising

Love is to be found in the meaning that you are able to make out of your experiences. Love is to be found in the processing of your pain, in the way you break it down, in the way you are able to hold a little of it at a time. Love is to be found in the fullness of your experience, by giving yourself permission to find value in the entirety of your journey.

Getting what we want is never the point of pursuing a meaningful life. Loving ourselves through the sorrows and the sweetness, as best we can, is. This month reminds you of the importance of unpacking what has caused you anguish or despair, not so that you can wallow there, but so that you can better work with the material your life is made up of.

Knowing which of our life experiences can be translated into assets is part of how we move consciously towards our life’s calling.

Eclipse season reminds you that it is important to empty out your understanding of what you have to work with from time to time. Most of us get used to our strengths and, dependent on them, we often forget that our growth edges can be incredibly energetic resources to draw from. Notice what you are being challenged to work with, develop and share with others at the moment. If it’s challenging in the right ways, it will motivate you to move beyond your usual limits, creating new channels for success to flow through.

With Mars moving through your 6th house of work projects and health issues for the entirety of February and the first half of March, you have much on your plate to accomplish. This should be a time where considerable effort is put towards completing professional tasks. A professional task that is worth that kind of work. You’ll most likely be inspired to take risks so take time to sharpen your tools. Be bold with your work, but do so in a way that takes incredible skill. This is a time to be impressive with your abilities more than your bravado.

As Venus travels through your 9th house of teaching, learning, and long-term plans, you are encouraged to enjoy the blessings you have acquired along your path. It’s time to share some of your knowledge, share some of your light, share some of your journey thus far. Especially the lessons that you have learned about love and how to love.

For more information on how the astrology of 2018, including this month’s solar eclipse, will impact your sign, I’ve got a 1 hour recording for you in 2018: The Year Ahead For Your Sign.

Leo & Leo Rising

Love how love changes you. Challenges you to grow up. Encourages you to wake up. This month your relationships, your loves and most precious partners undergo important transformations. These shifts change the nature of your wants and needs. They get you to investigate any demands you might be placing on others, and the demands they may be placing on you. Expectations need to be investigated. Contracts need to be recalculated. Hearts need to be reeducated.

Love left unexamined is left to languish.

Be more interested in what your important partnerships are growing into rather than what you are getting from them. Be more interested in what they need now rather than what they used to be. Be more interested in what this is helping you to develop rather than how it is inconveniencing you.

Because the relationships that are coming to an end will be obvious and explicit. What needs to be released will inform you of its departure. It will not ask for your permission, but it will clarify the importance of what stays.

Work with what is with you.

As Mars spends the next month and a half in your 5th house of creative pursuits and passionate affairs, you get to experiment with new ways of channeling your energy. Don’t be afraid of the raw emotions. In fact, create space for them to flow. Find projects and pursuits where your rage, hunger, and determination can be put to use. Find the right vehicles for the fuel you’ve got to go on.

As Venus rolls through your 8th house of shared resources from February 10th through March 6th, you are able to connect more easily to the funding, collaborators and co-conspirators that you and your projects need. Free your time and energy from what takes more than it gives. Work on respecting the exchanges that have greater ease about them rather then fretting about the ones that leave you frayed. Gather yourself up so that you can give yourself to what works.

For more information on how the astrology of 2018, including this month’s solar eclipse, will impact your sign, I’ve got a 1 hour recording for you in 2018: The Year Ahead For Your Sign.

Virgo & Virgo Rising

Love wants your attention. It wants your celebration. It wants your invitation.

Have you asked it on a date lately? Offer to pick it up. Take it out. Dress up for it. Stay out late for it. Situate yourself so that you are in front of it.

From February 10th – March 6th, Venus moves through your 7th house of committed partnerships and important relationships. It’s a time where the rock-solids in your life will be more interested in what can be built by sweetness than by stress. Show up for it. Show pleasure a good time. Show your interest to those you find interesting.

The returns will be more than you could count.

Venus wants to help not only your romantic life, but also your business one. See who in your life is curating creatively sound situations to get in on. To offer your energy to. This is a time that, with hard work, could bring in quite a few mutually beneficial bonuses.

And there is much work to do.

The eclipse on February 15th highlights the heavy lifting of your daily chores and duties. It points to some of the restructuring that your work life is undergoing or is in need of. There are innovations that are ready to be implemented in your professional projects.

Don’t delay.

Notice where fear gets in the way of efficiency. Imagine what it would be like to care less about failure. Imagine what it would be like to retire your worry about being liked. Imagine what it would be like to decrease your insecurity about your work, and instead just get busy doing it.

What’s the one thing you wish you had less hesitation about doing? Start there and see what the eclipse can help you outgrow and grow into.

With Mars spending all of February and March in your 4th house of foundations, home and family, much from the depths gets stirred up over the course of the next month. Feelings that usually lie at the base of your life, like sediment, start to swirl around. This mix of the past and present might make you a little sea-sick at times. Old emotions find their way into the present moment. Historically hot topics sear themselves into the ethers around you. All this is for you to work with. Whether it brings up issues in your present home situation or not, there are worm-hole like explorations that you are being asked to go on. Digging around the past leads you to a clearer understanding of your present.

For more information on how the astrology of 2018, including this month’s solar eclipse, will impact your sign, I’ve got a 1 hour recording for you in 2018: The Year Ahead For Your Sign.

Libra & Libra Rising

Love needs your willingness to give into it. Love needs your consent. Love needs your commitment so that it can actualize in your life.

Even the smallest nod in its direction can put its wheels in motion. Let it move towards you.

Imagine yourself in front of love. Imagine talking to it. Non-verbally. Non-rationally. Non-linearly. Imagine you are partnered with it. Wherever you are, it is with you. Working through you. Unwilling to leave you to face life on your own.

Imagine what you will allow yourself to create when you really believe this.

Create in love’s honor. In its likeness. In and with its immense power.

This month’s eclipse asks you to review the ways in which you get in the way of your own creativity. When shame overshadows your talent, it is your job to find ways to outsmart its devious devils. You don’t have be healed in order to engage in meaningful work, you just have to be willing to learn how to win at your own games. The solar eclipse helps you to clear out old doubts about your creative capacities so that you can realign yourself with the generative genes you have inherited.

What would your ancestors have created had they the option? Who do you feel is with you now, supporting you to strive and thrive in your present and for a long future to come? Leave some space to communicate with the ancient ones this month. Ask for inspiration. Ask for regeneration. Ask for instructions going forward. Give yourself some time to receive what you might otherwise be too busy to notice.

And you will be busy.

With Mars moving through your 3rd house of daily activity for all of February and the first half of March, you might feel rushed to get things done. Being rushed can often feel like a rush, but remember not to get too intoxicated with being busy. Instead be purposeful. Direct your time and energy towards the things you want to accomplish instead of being directed by the chaos of the day. Set achievable goals for your days while staking claim to your own time...

During January and February I will be writing monthly horoscopes instead of weekly ones. I am cooking up some big things for 2018 and I am grateful for your understanding as the format changes temporarily. I hope that these serve as a resource for the month. For more information on how the astrology of 2018, including this month’s lunar eclipse, will impact your sign, I’ve got a 1 hour recording for you in 2018: The Year Ahead For Your Sign. If you know both your rising sign and sun sign, please read both horoscopes. They both contain important information. You’ll know which resonates more for you. Take what works for you, leave the rest. If you want to share this, or any of my work, you must quote it and link it to this post and website. Thank you for your support and for spreading the work around. We really appreciate it and you!

Full With The New Year (Full Moon in Cancer – January 1st)

If we want to put out work in the world that moves people, stirs the senses, evokes a resiliency of spirit, creates currents of compassionate change, then we must be willing to heal all the places within us that struggle with those same things. The parts that struggle to find the answers. Struggle to find our way. Struggle to forgive ourselves. Struggle to grow up. Show up. Sit with the discomfort long enough to get the solution.

We must go into those unknown spaces that growth beckons us towards. To forge our path. Find the clues. Feel our way through the journey. Fumble towards the hidden treasures we did not know were awaiting us. Come back to tell the tale of what worked. What didn’t. And what might for others.

We cannot teach what we are not willing to learn.

2018 started us out with a super moon in Cancer which occurred on January 1st at 11° of Cancer. This was a powerful opener and testament to the importance of being in touch with our emotional selves. Our feelings. Our need to understand the psychological undercurrents that guide our actions.

The revolution will be healing. Or not at all.

Cancer’s waters remind us that not all things broken apart heal back together, but if we don’t understand the jagged edges of our inner lives, we will recreate the pain of our pasts.

That much in life is guaranteed.

The full moon reminds us to take the first two weeks of the year to cleanse. Reset. Regroup. We aren’t energetically programmed to respond to the Gregorian calendar. It has no significance save what some men made up a long time ago to keep things on their schedule. Or what we willingly give it. For some, the full moon washes away the need to succeed at and stick to a plan, reminding us of what it means to be connected to sources of comfort, family and food for the body and soul for a time.

As it exhales, Uranus stations direct at 24° of Aries on January 2nd. Uranus’s rebellious disruption mixed with the full moon’s emotional emphasis might remind us that we shouldn’t fall prey to or be pressured by the rantings and ravings of the turn of a calendar. Be on your own time. On time. In time with yourself.

From the Mud Comes Clarity

One of the most interesting astrological events of January is the interplay between Mars and Jupiter in Scorpio, and the sun, Venus, and Pluto in Capricorn.

On January 6th, Mars and Jupiter come together to make a conjunction at 17° of Scorpio. On January 8th and 9th, the sun, Venus, and Pluto in Capricorn all collide between 18° and 19°. As these planets come into conjunctions in their respective signs, they all end up sextiling one another over January 8th, 9th, 10th and 15th.

Little themes pick up on bigger ones, concocting a powerful potion.

Mars and Jupiter conjunct in Scorpio is a faith in one’s force to forge a path towards success. Mars is the ruler of Scorpio, and therefore injects Jupiter with a super power. Mars in Scorpio reveals our ability to succeed at a daunting situation. In secret. In all seriousness. Mars in Scorpio is compelling. Empowered. Enshrined in subterranean smarts. Mars in Scorpio is an undercover warrior. It is psychologically astute, able to cut to the core of an unconscious pattern or a taboo no one else will touch with a ten foot pole.

Mars in Scorpio will go there.

With Jupiter in the mix, the spells cast are magnified in their power. Jupiter makes bigger what it touches. Makes more exaggerated what it teams up with. Makes more, period. More Mars in Scorpio is nothing to take for granted or use unconsciously. But it is good fuel to put in the reserves so that we are able to go the distance for our desires.

As these two tango in the area of your chart that contains Scorpio, the sun, Venus and Pluto all collide in Capricorn. Their current ruler, Saturn, is also present to amplify the power of these planets. The sun, Venus and Pluto in conjunction thread together themes of relationship renewals. Underworld journeys with our loved ones. Our creative process. Our values. Pluto promises a transformation. Venus, a heart to heart. The sun, illumination and individuation. All in Saturn’s sign, these planets follow up on the important lessons of personal boundaries we were introduced to late December.

Love yourself enough to say no to what isn’t right for you. Case closed. Final sale. No returns.

A sextile between these two sets of planets means that there is something incredibly helpful occurring in the areas of your chart that contain Scorpio and Capricorn. With both benefics (Venus and Jupiter), as well as both malefics (Mars and Saturn, though Saturn not by exact aspect) involved, this help isn’t always going to appear chipper.

Scorpio is a water sign, but it’s more of a thick muddy water than a clear stream flowing. Rich with minerals and strange bottom feeders, Scorpio teaches us to sit with the gruesome in order to get the gift.

Capricorn is an earth sign, but it deals more effectively with hardships than it does with high hopes. It would rather do the impossible than hang out with the convenient. Capricorn, and especially Saturn in Capricorn, teach us to align our actions with our commitments no matter if we feel like doing so. Purpose gives our life clarity. Saturn splits no hairs when making clear that our purpose is to commit to what will challenge us to no end and ultimately bring us the greatest reward.

What happens during these weeks reverberates through the year as Jupiter in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn move in and out of a sextile with one another from January to September of 2018.

Renewed Commitments (New Moon in Capricorn – January 16th)

The first new moon of the year occurs on January 16th at 6:17 PM PT at 26° of Capricorn. This is the first new moon in the sea-goat’s sign since its ruler, Saturn, returned to it. This new moon acts like an initiation of sorts. We have lived with Saturn in Capricorn for a moment, but this new moon will make the relationship official. Seal the deal. Sanctify the ceremony.

Whatever you are serious about getting serious about, this new moon is your ticket to commit. Sitting with Venus, the new moon reminds us that all life is relationship and anything that we are in relationship with needs to know our intentions. Set yours and stick to them. Through thick and thin.

This new moon will end up growing itself into the first full moon and eclipse of the year. With this new moon, eclipse season is officially here. Get ready for the next go-round of changes, upgrades and upsets to the apple cart. Eclipses are a wild card that set major events in motion. What takes place around these times are fated in nature so watch what comes. As well as what leaves.

A Change of Heart and Heat

After the new moon, both Venus and Mars change sign. Venus moves into cool-headed Aquarius on January 17th (there until February 10th) and Mars into free-wheeling Sagittarius on January 26th (there until March 17th). Still in supportive aspect to one another, these two move from the emotional/practical realms into the inquiring/inspiring ones.

The Show Must Go On (Total Lunar Eclipse in Leo – January 31st)

Not to be outdone by any other cosmic signature, the grand finale of January is a total lunar eclipse in Leo. Occurring on January 31st at 5:37 AM at 11° of Leo, a total lunar eclipse will turn the full moon red and our egos on full blast. This eclipse is a show stopper that picks up on the themes of 2017’s eclipses. This is the third eclipse we’ve experienced in Leo over the course of a year. There are still two more to go over the course of the next.

That puts us in the center of our Leo eclipse lessons.

The part of your chart that contains Leo has already been privy to the dramatic tales these eclipses are telling. Now it’s time for the next chapter. Get your crowns on, Kitty Cats. This eclipse wants to take you deeper into the lessons of living out your glory.

Each one of us must be the ruler of our own lives. The Leo eclipse hands you the keys to your castle, but only you can walk in and claim your throne.

Aries & Aries Rising

The year starts out with a full moon in Cancer that reminds you of the importance of grounding. Rooting. Getting stable in yourself and in your home life before you set out to accomplish the tremendous tasks that 2018 has in store for you. This full moon reverberates through the fist few days and weeks of the new year, so if you feel less inclined to rush, you are in the right place.

Rest when and where you can. Get to your resolutions when you’ve filled up your adrenals. Get yourself situated. Get comfortable. This year is a marathon. In this astrological climate, races are for the foolish.

By the end of the first week of January and well into the second week of it, you are given a tremendous boon via your collaborators and co-conspirators. From January 5th- 16th, dedicate your time and energy to those that want to co-grow. Flourish together. Find ways towards mutual benefit with no bullshit.

This is no time for niceties.

This is time for real effort. Raw emotion. Ambition put to compassionate use. Take note of who is around that wants to help you rock your work life. Make professional strides. Make waves crash and mountains move. As Jupiter and Mars collide in Scorpio, your partnerships have a steady undercurrent of strength to draw from. Be willing to be as honest with yourself and your collaborators as you can. Intense feelings are bound to erupt. Hold them with a conscious compassion. This is a transformative process that requires as much action as reflection.

As the sun, Venus, and Pluto make a conjunction in Capricorn from January 7th – 10th, your career becomes a hot spot to hone in on. Which of your values are you able to fully express professionally? Which are transforming? Which are leading you into a deeper connection with your craft? Venus wants to connect you to the partners and collaborators that can renew your faith in your work.

The new moon in Capricorn on January 16th agrees.

This new moon asks you to take a next-level approach to your professional commitments. That means giving up any outdated identities that are keeping you from discovering what else is professionally possible for you. Your main career is to be sincerely you, wherever you can, whatever you are doing. The form that you pour yourself into can change a million times over.  Find the best fit for this moment. This self. This creative potential.

The full moon and total lunar eclipse in Leo on January 31st echoes this sentiment. Occurring in your 5th house of creative projects, lovers, children and all manner of playful excursions, this eclipse wants you to free yourself from the inhibitions that curb your ability to find solutions. Step out of your own expectations. Allow yourself to take off the heavy burden of accomplishment for a moment come the end of the month. This eclipse wants you to immerse yourself in the fires of your creative force, burning away the fears that keep you stuck in self-doubt. It wants to help you believe that you can (re)create your life as you need it to be and then encourage you to boldly make your mark in honor of the blood moon.

For more information on how the astrology of 2018, including this month’s lunar eclipse, will impact your sign, I’ve got a 1 hour recording for you in 2018: The Year Ahead For Your Sign.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

Much of the beginning of 2018 encourages you to partner with those that lift your spirits. Show you new worlds. Bring you to places and spaces that remind you of the possibilities for living life with greater awareness of what is, instead of worry about what hasn’t yet happened.

Don’t miss what life is bringing you.

In order to make sure that you get on board with your current journey, it’s helpful to understand how to spot the opportunities when they arrive. What hurts at first can heal you if you work with it. Don’t be fooled into thinking that you are doomed when you are merely doing the work of awakening. The eclipse on January 31st stirs up your deepest memories. Your densest feelings. Your most daunting demons.

But they are here to help.

They want you to understand the strength that you inherited. The strength that you developed. The strength that you are born from and that you will go back to. Your issues might push you around, but ultimately they want you to push back. Remembering that you don’t run on a deficit. You come from a source of unending, unyielding strength. Power. Capability. Uncompromising creativity.

Hang out with the folks that remind you of such resources.

As Jupiter and Mars come together on January 6th, you are reminded of the power of the right combinations. When we are with the right people, life lives itself. Lifts up what is too heavy on our own. Opens up what was shut down within us. Take note of the partners that are helping you stretch your understanding of your role in the world, and the world’s role in your life.

The world promises you nothing, but gives you a place to give yourself everything.

As the sun, Venus and Pluto collide in Capricorn, just before the new moon takes place in their company, you get to witness which of your ideas about life are transforming. Our relationship to our life is mostly dependent on what we make meaning of. It takes discipline and dedication to understand what meaning our life holds. It takes a willingness to sit with the struggle. The pain. Shame. Fear. Doubt. But the less you allow yourself to be derailed in doing so, the less likely you are to suffer. The more you dedicate yourself to the philosophies that soothe your sorrows, while at the same time awakening your appetite to work, grow and gather what you need, the more likely you are to feel power over your life.

One of the greatest lessons we can ever learn is that when we treat each difficulty as an invitation, rather than a curse, we come out far richer and more aware of our strength, power and true success. This month aims to help you make up your mind about yours.

For more information on how the astrology of 2018, including this month’s lunar eclipse, will impact your sign, I’ve got a 1 hour recording for you in 2018: The Year Ahead For Your Sign.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

This year starts out with a full moon in your 2nd house of income, assets and resources. It illuminates what you have been working so hard to gather and get ready. It helps you start the year with a knowledge of your gifts and the good time it takes to ready them to do their thing in the world. 2018 wants you to know what you have to work with so that you can put it to good use in all your collaborations.

As January unfolds, it helps you to develop something important in your work life. Something like resolve. Determination. A need to investigate and integrate the power that you might normally shop out for others to cash in on.

Own your efforts.

Early to mid January wants you to become determined about your professional desires coming to fruition. Or at least to an advanced place. With Jupiter and Mars colliding in your 6th house, your work life and physical routines get infused with an unstoppable power. What are you working on achieving? What do you feel an extra ounce of confidence about? What are you getting clear on pursuing in your professional life?

Do so without doubt or fear that it’s foolish to believe so fully in a desire.

Your collaborators want to know that you take your abilities and your pursuits of passion seriously. They want to know that you honor the work you put out into the world. That you know the value of what you give to your projects. It increases trust. Engenders loyalty. Supports sustainable partnerships.

Deepen your commitments to the collaborations that show you the same.

The new moon in Capricorn on January 16th solidifies this sentiment. It asks you to initiate some aspect of your collaborative work. Clear debts. Restart your year with a renewed commitment to working with resources in the most efficient, concise and responsible way possible. Make the agreements that inspire you to stick with them come good times and difficult.

On January 31st we get the first full moon and eclipse of the year. The blood moon sheds its intriguing light on your day to day schedule, rituals and communications. This eclipse is bound to bring you messengers bearing important news. It is also quite capable of illuminating your own words, so choose them carefully. This eclipse helps you to understand which parts of your communications and your daily life need adjustments. Some rituals might need to be edited from your schedule. Some sentiments might need to be edited from your repertoire. Don’t be afraid to let go of what doesn’t raise your energy, keep you on track or soothe your soul.

For more information on how the astrology of 2018, including this month’s lunar eclipse, will impact your sign, I’ve got a 1 hour recording for you in 2018: The Year Ahead For Your Sign.

Cancer & Cancer Rising

The new year starts out with a full moon in your sign. Like a wink from the cosmos, you can tell that 2018 likes you. Or at least aims to push you towards your potential.

Or both.

Most of the urging for your growth comes through the commitments that you are able to make, and, more importantly, keep to others. Find worthy partners who share your ideas of success. Find those that share your values. Find those that want to create a life that makes you want to leap out of bed in the morning. Or stay in it cuddling all day.

Please your priorities.

As the sun, Venus and Pluto all pile up in Capricorn, with Saturn sitting close enough to lend supportive yet stern guidance, you are being asked to choose the partnerships that will transform you. Push you to push yourself. Make you want to become more committed to your own development.

This is not a process that you can control. Or evade. It’s an authentic journey that leads you into territory you may have been too timid to enter before.

But you are stronger now.

The new moon in Capricorn on January 16th concurs. From January 6th to the 16th, your astrology is brimming with the possibilities of important engagements and promises to others. You need to be clear, concise and honest with them. You need them to be clear, concise and honest with you, too.

Nothing kills the mood like the inability to be direct.

As Jupiter and Mars come together for the first half of the month, you’ll be taking a deep dive into your creative process. Shutting out the rest of the world for a time. Taking a moment to connect to the subterranean knowledge that you have collected over the years.

What wisdom lies within the layers? What gold might be mined? What are you given the opportunity to connect with through creative, romantic and interpersonal ties?

With the lunar eclipse on January 31st comes the opportunity to understand your creative potential and what kinds of payouts it promises. It brings with it the illumination of your talents. Highlighting the assets that most want to be accessed. Bringing to fruition certain aspects of your projects.

But not everything is ready to be announced.

It’s easy to talk about what we want to do. Harder to just shut up and do it. Speak on the things that you have done. Keep what you are working on under wraps. Give your creations time to take their own shape. In their own pace. In their own time. Give them a chance to show you what they’ve got so you can best know what to give them as the year gets going.

For more information on how the astrology of 2018, including this month’s lunar eclipse, will impact your sign, I’ve got a 1 hour recording for you in 2018: The Year Ahead For Your Sign.

Leo & Leo Rising

The blood moon on January 31st raises your temperature. Speeds up your heart rate. Has you deepening your understanding of what you desire and how to drive your life towards that aim.

The whole of January sets you up for the Leo eclipse lessons. The nature of which comes into focus as you work through the month’s themes. Things are now weighty with consequences. Heavy with significance. Drenched in importance.

This month you will be called to answer life’s questions with intense honesty.

If your actions have been in alignment with your goals, the eclipse will bring with it a sense of empowerment. Encouragement. Energetic reinforcement.

If you have been going against your own spiritual grain, the eclipse will strip away any false hopes you are fostering, leaving your motives naked. Revealed. Leaving you reawakened to the need to move towards your truth, tracking it with all the awareness you’ve got to give it.

You have the entire month of January to get on board with the grand eclipse plan. If you need to turn something around, do so with sincerity and swiftness.

Now.

The rest of the month has a penetrating gaze on home, family and foundational issues. As Jupiter and Mars come into a conjunction in your 4th house, you’ll have a strong desire to weed out the deeply entrenched and inherited patterns that aren’t doing you any favors. Sometimes we just need to make a decision to cut ties with what is energetically draining before we know how to do so. The instructions will come once you are clear on what you want...

Growing up

On December 19th, 2017, just days before the Solstice, Saturn entered Capricorn. Every 2.5 years or so, Saturn enters a new sign, encouraging us to own our stories in a specific style and area of our lives.

Here until 2020, Saturn in Capricorn will be teaching us a great many things about the effort it takes to mature and the importance of making that effort without expectation of what will be received. To Saturn in Capricorn, the work is the reward. Self-respect is the reward. Mastery is the reward.

No matter what sign Saturn is in, this is what The Taskmaster teaches, but in Capricorn the message is loud and clear: Be the boss of your business or be bossed by those that can’t mind their own.

Happy Solstice.

Capricorn

Capricorn is one of Saturn’s home signs. In astrology, the signs are the style in which a planet expresses itself. When a planet is in one of its own signs it operates with uncompromised strength. Capricorn’s style is traditional. Relentless. Hard working. Ambitious. Determined. Prudent. Unfazed by flash-in-the-pan-success strategies, Capricorn is in this to win a life-long journey.

From beginning to end.

Saturn

Saturn conserves. Constrains. Controls. Criticizes. Reserves. Rejects. Realizes. Separates. Creates austere environments that force us to toughen up. Saturn brings realism, works with the material realm, is heavy and sometimes so burdensome it’s unbearable.

That is until we acquire the psychological strength to lift its weight.

In solitude, Saturn in Capricorn thrives. An extroverts worst nightmare, some transits from Saturn force us inward, or at least cut us off from external distractions. Transiting Saturn in hard aspect (squares, oppositions and some conjunctions) to our natal chart can feel punishing at first, but ultimately defining and transformative. Whipping us into adulthood like a spiritual trainer that won’t let you complain about the conditions, Saturn’s bootcamp is no joke.

If you have planets or points (ascendant, descendant, midheaven, IC or nodes) between 0° and 11° of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn, Saturn will square, oppose or conjunct them at some point over the next year. To find out exactly when that might be, look at the degree of the planets in question in your chart and then look up when Saturn will get to that degree. If you have planets out points in these signs that are between 12° – 29°, Saturn won’t reach them until 2019 or 2020. Here’s a little breakdown of what you might expect:

  • If you have planets or points between 0° – 11° of Aries, Saturn will Square them at some point over the next year. Squares cause friction, require action and generally feel irritating but activating. Squares from Saturn can feel, at times, impossible as the options to take action can seem so limited. However, in the end, Saturn’s squeeze can force us to face and conquer what we would otherwise avoid altogether. If your natal Saturn is in Aries, the next 3 years mark Saturn’s last square to itself (before it makes another return to its natal position). This is a transit that is about releasing old structures that no longer serve the overall architecture of your life. Much will need to be composted and repurposed. Trust in what you are guided to let go of. Know that this will ultimately help you distill your learning down to a seed of wisdom to be replanted on your next Saturn return.
  • If you have planets or points between 0° – 11° of Cancer, Saturn will oppose them at some point over the next three years. An opposition from Saturn is best met with a deep dedication to our work. It is a call to take on something formidable and defining. As if Saturn’s steely gaze fall’s directly upon us, we know that without a shadow of a doubt that it is time to step up our game, get in the ring and show up with all we’ve got. If your natal Saturn is in Cancer you are in your Saturn opposition. These next 3 years mark the half way point between one Saturn return and the next. This is a moment where you get to witness the growth of your intention set 14 or so years ago. This is a time to fulfill the promises that you made to yourself, illuminating the life lessons you have learned thus far.
  • If you have planets or points between 0° – 11° of Libra, Saturn will square them at some point over the next year. Squares cause friction, require action and generally feel irritating but activating. Squares from Saturn can feel, at times, impossible as the options to take action can seem so limited. However, in the end, Saturn’s squeeze can force us to face and conquer what we would otherwise avoid altogether. If your natal Saturn is in Libra, you are in your fist quarter Saturn square. These next 3 years are an incredibly important time period for you. It takes the seed intention that you planted at your Saturn return about 7 years ago and asks you to take decisive action towards its fulfillment. Much will have to be released in order to do so. Great focus is required, but will ultimately help you define yourself for yourself.
  • If you have planets or points between 0° – 11° of Capricorn Saturn will conjoin them at some point over the next year. A conjunction from Saturn reshapes us. The weight of it forces us to contend with what we have put off, what we weren’t ready to deal with, what we are only know mature enough to cope with. Saturn conjunct a planet or point in our natal chart grows us up. Stops us in our tracks. Restructures our lives in significant ways. If you have natal Saturn in Capricorn please read about it below.

Saturn Return

Every 29.5 years, Saturn returns to the same place. That means that at the end of our 20’s, 50’s and 80’s we go through a Saturn return. The first is possibly the most shocking, as well as the most commonly spoken of.

It’s the most shocking because it’s the first time Saturn, one of the most challenging planets we work with, comes back to our natal placement. Shocking because it’s a reality check. Shocking because, for the first time, our mortality starts to dawn on us in a way that is rooted in our physical experience.

No matter how cute you are, you too will get old and die.

The first Saturn return asks us to define ourselves for ourselves. Not for our family. Not for society. Not for any fantasy anyone else has of us. It’s a time of separating ourselves out from our conditioning enough to appreciate the beautiful aspects of it, as well as what we need to do away with. Those of you born in the late 80’s and early 90’s will either have Neptune or both Uranus and Neptune in Capricorn along with your Saturn. This is an incredibly inventive (Uranus) and fantastical (Neptune) combination to have with the deity of realism. Your cohort’s Saturn return is about manifesting what will innovate our systems and what will dissolve the barriers that capitalism upholds. It’s a little messy and hard to get a hold of but it awakens previously unforeseen realities and possibilities for the future.

The second Saturn return occurs at the end of our 50’s, encouraging us to move into more of a mentorship role. Now we are supposed to turn towards those entering their first Saturn return and offer the wisdom we have gathered since then as a guidepost. This is a time of moving into eldership, something our society desperately needs to cultivate an appreciation for.

The Saturn return that occurs at the end of our 80’s is one that gathers the wisdom of our life, distilling it into pearls of wisdom to be left like seeds for future generations.

If you have Saturn in Capricorn you are officially in your Saturn return from the moment Saturn enters Capricorn to the moment it exits. Not all astrologers will agree with that sentiment, but I consider the entire 3 years of Saturn’s journey through Capricorn to be your Saturn return. The weeks and months that transiting Saturn is at the exact degree as your natal Saturn will be the most informative, perhaps even the most intense, but the entire 3 years will have a theme to them that will be very discernible once the entire transit has past. Pay attention to the house that your Saturn return is occurring in. Look for how Saturn is shaping those areas of your life.

Saturn in Aspect

While in Capricorn, Saturn has no major aspects in 2018 though it remains in a near, but never fully compete, trine to Uranus in Taurus over the summer of 2018. This will encourage our innovative spirit in regards to the utilization of the earth’s resources. Uranus in Taurus could create an incredible creativity in regards to how we work with the material realm.

If we use the transit wisely.

If not, it may encourage less egalitarian forces to manipulate resources through taking advantage of shocking events. Disasters brought on by climate change will be used against us, astrology or not. The disrupting and dangerous nature of them will easily be used to control us and convince us to relinquish our rights if we aren’t careful.

Come 2020, Saturn will make a conjunction to Pluto that will redefine our financial systems. Of course every day of Saturn in Capricorn leading up to that transit will define it, so we might say that it would be impossible to underestimate the impact of these next two years on all things associated with finances, resources, governmental structures, and how we work with them. And against them.

The desire to control capital will most likely be at an all-time high during the next three years and the rights we have seen threatened will be even more vulnerable to corruption. We could lose much in terms of autonomy and freedom unless we are vigilant about defending access to resources for all.

Saturn Retrograde

Every year Saturn spends about 5 months of the time retrograde. Since Saturn governs our slow growth and difficult lessons, its retrograde period is always a helpful one where we can check to see if life is lining up with our ultimate goals.

Saturn will station retrograde on April 17th at 9° of Capricorn and station direct on September 6th at 2° of Capricorn.

These horoscopes speak to the first year of Saturn’s transit through Capricorn. You may want to refer to them periodically throughout 2018. If you know both your rising sign and sun sign, please read both horoscopes. They both contain important information. Take what works for you, leave the rest. If you want to share this work you must quote it and link it to this post and website. Thank you for your support and for spreading the work around, we really appreciate it and you!

Aries & Aries Rising

As Saturn enters your 10th house of career, reputation and public life, you are initiated into a 3 year process of professionalism. Boss-ness. Whatever you are able to define for yourself in your career during this time will impact your professional pursuits for decades to come.

Part of this process will involve you following the clues, signs and signals that Saturn will be laying out for you. Clarity will come, but only a little at a time. Piece by piece. Brick by brick.

The only thing you need to do is answer the professional call that is loud and clear.

To bring yourself into being through this process, you will labor like you’ve never known. But if you make love the motivation, the monuments you build will become a healing shelter. A space for transformation to occur. A cauldron that can transmute fear into fierce love.

Make your work into a practice of self-realization. Make it a place where you practice what you preach. Make it a place where you practice pouring yourself into structures of integrity.

Nothing cures heart-break quite like applying yourself to what you believe in.

Let Saturn teach you that part of the process of mastery is feeling like a fool. Fucking up. Finding a way through the shame and fear that arise when we cross a threshold into a new level of our abilities. Let Saturn’s harshness help you not take personally what isn’t. Saturn teaches us how to create sturdy boundaries. Knowing what isn’t about us saves such incredible amounts of time. Days. Months. Years. Eons. Massive amounts of energy we can redirect towards the things that need our attention, love and care. Knowing how to channel our efforts, energy and fierce heart is half the battle of becoming a grown, professional person that can help the planet progress.

Never underestimate that part of Saturn’s teaching to you.

I’ve got more information about how to work with Saturn’s transit through Capricorn in 2018: The Year Ahead for Your Sign.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

As Saturn ventures into your 9th house of travel, teaching, learning, long-term planning, spiritual experiences and religious rights of passage, you are being called to dedicate yourself to a larger vision of your life.

The skies are wide open, even if the path is steep and severe at times.

What you commit to learning over the next three years will serve as a source of intellectual, spiritual and philosophical wealth from which you will be able to draw upon for decades to come.

Make sure that you choose what is worthy of your efforts. Worthy of your time. Worthy of your energy.

Sign up for the doctorate program that will make you a master of yourself.

It need not grant you a piece of paper upon graduating, just a sense of having accomplished something intellectually, spiritually or philosophically satiating. Choose what’s difficult but defining. Challenging but affirming. Ambitious but meaningful. Consider what you might need to learn in order to move your professional life along in the long-run. Consider where you want to get to within the next 3 years. Consider what steps you can take now to make that a possibility.

Saturn’s transit through your 9th house will teach you a great many things about following through. Stating your cause and staying your course. Throughout the year, keep refocusing yourself on your intention. We don’t always feel like doing what is necessary to attain our goals, but we don’t need to feel like doing it in order to. We just need to do what we can as often as possible. Do that repeatedly over the next 12 months and you’ll be surprised at how far you travel.

I’ve got more information about how to work with Saturn’s transit through Capricorn in 2018: The Year Ahead for Your Sign.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

As Saturn’s transit through your 8th house gets underway, you’ll become more familiar with the intricacies of how giving and receiving impacts your projects, successes, and sense of self.

Life is an incredibly intricate exchange of energy. Ideas. Resources. Saturn wants to help you clarify what you need from others and what you have to give to them. The next three years will help you understand who is the best fit for your formula.

Look for the collaborations that are capable of building with you. The unions that potentiate you. The relationships that seem to open up energetic pockets of possibility. Look at the bonds between you and others that help you take what you have and turn it into something beyond what you could conceive of on your own. The arrangements that hold you accountable while inspiring you to do things you thought were only reserved for fancy people.

You are just as dashing, dazzling and desirable as anyone else on this earth and the right collaborators will awaken this within you.

Your job now is to uncover your gifts so that they can attract impossibly good matches. Part of this uncovering process is confronting the aspects of yourself that have a harder time healing. The parts that have been trained to give away the things you need to keep for yourself. The sorrows your mind gets stuck on. The grief that has yet to be fully grieved. The shadows that are cast by any fear that has gone unchecked. These next three years will help you reclaim the energy you may have lost along the way. Energy you may not have ever had full access to. Energy that you have every right to. Know that each watt you are able to reclaim will give you the strength and encouragement to do so again. And again. Helping you to understand how best to reinvest it and how best to manage the incredible wealth you have within.

Cancer & Cancer Rising

Astrology is a map of time. A map that tells us when certain themes will be amped up. A map that tell us when certain needs will withdraw. A map that tells us when to go and when to slow.

Saturn is a builder that takes its time. An architect that is interested in erecting monuments that can withstand the force of the ages. A constructor of consideration and appreciation for a thorough process.

Over the next 3 years, Saturn will take you through the hallways, cathedrals and secret rooms of your most important relationships.

Love needs a home.

Saturn wants to help you build places of uncompromising honesty so that your partnerships have a chance to grow. Earnestly. So that your combined accomplishments have a place to take root. Eternally. So that the lessons your heart learns move you in the directions that are most nourishing for you. Sweetly and solidly.

The more you show up for others, the more you’ll understand what you have to give in order to make a prosperous partnership. The more you’ll understand who is able to give what you need. The more you’ll understand who is able to withstand the pressure that healing places on a structure.

Stick with those that are willing to do the work alongside you.

Commit to the relationships that increase your commitment to your own healing. That make you want to do and be better. That won’t take any of your excuses. That won’t entertain your nonsense. That honor your boundaries and their own.

Commit to your growth by choosing, repeatedly, to do the work your partnerships place in your path. Be them love or business, whomever you are working closely with is giving you all you need to get yourself together and to the next level of your learning.

I’ve got more information about how to work with Saturn’s transit through Capricorn in 2018: The Year Ahead for Your Sign.

Leo & Leo Rising

Honor it. The hard work that goes into your everyday life. The efforts that you make regularly. The yearning that you have to accomplish something of meaning through all your efforts.

It’s time.

To find your resolve to get things done. To find a way around the obstacles in your path. To find what you can apply yourself to and do so without apprehension. Doubt may visit you. Might ask if this is the right work for you. Might try and make you think that it would be safer not to try. But doubt is a key component of success. Doubt itself is never the problem.

It’s doubting the importance of doing the work that gets us into trouble.

When in doubt do what you can with what you’ve got. With Saturn’s 3-year transit through your 6th house, your best efforts will lift you out of any situation that is ill-fitting for you. Your best efforts will get you noticed. Your ability to be as accurate, skillful and dedicated as possible to what you are doing will help you move professional mountains.

It will also help your professional partnerships.

The more you show up as a serious contender, the more folks will be waiting in the wings to get in the ring with you. The more you see yourself as someone in the process of becoming a master of your craft, the quicker your teachers and students will show up to guide and be guided by you. The more you say yes to the track that gets you on the path to your destiny, the sooner you’ll feel the wheels of your own industriousness at work.

Time waits for no one, so stop waiting for the right moment to give it what you’ve got. This is it.

I’ve got more information about how to work with Saturn’s transit through Capricorn in 2018: The Year Ahead for Your Sign.

Virgo & Virgo Rising

Corral it without trying to control it. Put it to work without exhausting it. Shape it without forcing it.

Your creative energy wants to be courted. Enticed. Treated like the divine temptress that it is. With Saturn transiting your 5th house of creative energy, projects, pursuits, children and romantic partnerships for the next 3 years, it’s time to commit to pleasure as a practice of self-actualization.

It takes discipline to get the best out of our creative selves. Technique needs to be learned. Hours spent pondering the blank canvas of our creations. Weeks spent retracing a single curve. Months spent rehearsing and reworking what we will eventually give to the audiences we have access to. Years spent trying to achieve the strength to appear light as a feather in our most concerted efforts.

But if the discipline turns into drudgery we can end up with a kink in the creative current. You’ll have to navigate the delicate balance of effort and ease. Discipline and down time. Directing and delighting.

Saturn wants to help you realize the power you have to manifest yourself in the material world. A whole new appreciation for what you are able to create emerges as you work with this energy. A whole new understanding of what is possible with dedicated focus and determination.

What we consciously choose to bring into form, however, will also teach us the most about our feelings of lack, self-doubt and despair. These feelings are a naturally occurring part of having a creatively engaged life. These feelings are usually indicative of our growth. As we push past our limitations into new realms of experience and opportunity, old fears..

Astrology of the Week

Tuesday, December 12th

Mercury makes its inferior conjunction to the sun at 21° of Sagittarius

Friday, December 15th

Mercury conjunct Venus at 17° of Sagittarius

Saturday, December 16th

Sun in Sagittarius trine Uranus in Aries, both at 24°

Sunday, December 17th

10:30 PM – New Moon at 26° of Sagittarius

This week’s new moon in Sagittarius marks the end of a (mini) era.

Saturn is about to change signs.

But before it does, the new moon wants us to ponder the last moments of Saturn’s transit through the faith-filled fire sign. Happening right next to Saturn in Sagittarius, the new moon asks us to meditate on the meaning of all that we’ve experienced from the Deity of Demanding Life Lessons over the past 3 years.

If you have natal planets or important astrological points in Sagittarius, these past 3 years have been handing you especially potent lessons. Saturn teaches boundaries. Responsibility. Rigor. Hard work that hopefully helps us to attain a much deeper understanding of ourselves and our capacities.

Saturn will be leaving the wild fields of Sagittarius just days after the new moon. Saturn will then begin its once every 30 years (give or take a few) transit through Capricorn. With Mercury, Venus, the sun and moon all colliding with one another in Sagittarius this week, so close to Saturn, the emphasis stays, for now, in the part of our chart that contains this sign.

As Mercury and the sun come together, they mark the heart of Mercury’s retrograde journey.  The beginning of the week offers us important insights into the nature of our current life lessons. Deep in its underworld journey, Mercury tells us tales of what lies beneath the surface of our personality. Beneath the surface of our life events. Beneath the surface of our reactions to them.

Life is a mythical journey that we all have to learn to interpret for ourselves. Rarely can we take things at face value. Almost always, we need to research the underlying meaning of the events we experience if we want to live in a deeper accordance with them.

Mercury’s inferior conjunction to the sun assists us with this kind of contemplation.

Later in the week as Venus conjuncts Mercury, a spoonful of sugar is added to the cosmic concoction. Reminding us to use sweeter sentiments to get our message across, Venus can help us connect to the work we have to do and enjoy what we can while doing so.

As the sun sits oh so close to Saturn while it makes a trine to Uranus, right before the new moon, we are reminded of the freedom that comes when we make commitments that encourage our growth and enable our evolution.

Stay steadily serving what holds you to your greater good.

*Your new moon affirmation horoscopes are meant to help reset your commitments and intentions for the next lunar cycle. Please change the phrasing of the words as you need to so that they resonate with you. If you know both your rising sign and sun sign, please read both horoscopes. They both contain important information. You’ll know which resonates more for you from week to week. Take what works for you, leave the rest. If you want to share this work you must quote it and link it to this post and website. Thank you for your support and for spreading the work around, we really appreciate it and you!

Aries & Aries Rising

I commit to the truth. As I know it in this moment. As I feel it in my body. As it resonates in my bones.

I commit to it even when it is inconvenient. I align myself with it. Aquire the discipline to be dedicated to it. I am the only one who can help myself grapple with the things in life that are painful upfront but liberating to integrate down the line.

I’m not afraid of having to separate out what I want to be true from what is.

Maturity comes when I can accept life on its own terms. My agency is revealed when I work within the situation surrounding me. Magic occurs when I remember that even though there’s more to life than the material, I need to know where I am in order to work with the elements available to me.

Sunday’s new moon reminds me of the importance of reviewing the lengths that I have traveled thus far. The education that I received over the last 3 years. The effort I made to get the grade. The incredible amount of self-development these years have required of me.

This new moon is my graduation. Marks my completion. Certifies the inner strength that I have had to develop in order to keep true to myself and honest with the truth. I proudly claim my certificate before rising off onto the next adventure.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

With this new moon I call in gratitude for what has gone. I call in a deep appreciation for what has departed naturally. I call on the inner strength that I have cultivated over the past three years. Strength that has allowed me a deeper appreciation of the revolving door of life.

Everything will pass through the gates of my life. In this I trust.

I remember that finding the right fit for collaborations takes time. It’s easy to get swept up in the sweetness of new meetings, but only over seasons, years and a vast array of situations can anyone know the true strength of a combination. I give thanks for the patience I have learned when considering who to merge myself with and how.

I am in no rush to enter a bad mach.

With this new moon I call in the partners who will ask me to rise to the next level of my creative capacity. Those that will arouse my curiosity. Those that will give me just enough to inspire my desire to give them back more. I call in the tough but loving teachers who make me want to do it myself. Those that inspire me to bring more of what I’ve got so that I have a better understanding of what I am capable of.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

As I look back over the last 3 years, I am grateful for all the lessons I have had to learn in my partnerships. Grateful for the affection received as it has taught me how to open to more sweetness within me. Grateful for the painful points in my growth cycle, as it all directed me towards what I can do to heal myself more thoughtfully. Grateful for the boundaries that were set, as they have taught me how to respect myself in ways I didn’t know I had the right to. Grateful to those that speak to the evolving part of me. Those that know not to take my temper at face value. Those that know I’m better than my worst moments. Those that call on me to grow into the person I am destined to be.

I now know that no one can carry my burden for me, but I am in deep appreciation of those that hold it with me. Those that appreciate the ways in which I have had to carry it. Those that understand my potential beneath it. Beyond it. Because of it.

I’m even grateful for the rejection. As it has helped me to accept more of myself. Unconditionally. Without reservation. Without hesitation. No matter who else does, I choose myself.

Everyday.

With Sunday’s new moon, I rededicate myself to showing up in partnerships as someone committed to my individual growth. Because I know that when I don’t, I’m no good to anyone else.

Cancer & Cancer Rising

I honor the habits that help me hone my skills. I honor the schedules that I need to work within. I honor the effort that it takes to bring my work into being.

But none of that is possible unless I honor my personal boundaries while in professional settings. My physical self as well as my productive self. My trade as well as the tools I need for it. This new moon helps me to remember that in order to make work that has integrity, I have to be in a respectful relationship with myself.

My boundaries do not come and go with the demands made upon me. Rewards awarded to me. Misdirected desires for recognition, attention or love within me. I work with this new moon to develop the kind of boundaries that can hold my center no matter what.

These are lessons that I have been learning over the past few years. Lessons on how to be professional. How to be reliable with my work. How to be consistent with the crafts that keep my life afloat. I honor the fact that this isn’t always an easy process, but one that is always incredibly important to go through. I can look back on the past 3 years and marvel at the work that I have been able to accomplish as well as the discipline I have been able to develop. I am grateful for both the opportunity to do so and the willingness that arises within me to meet the challenge.

Leo & Leo Rising

With this new moon I heal the parts of my heart that have grown cynical. Despondent. Disheartened. I take this opportunity to notice what is stagnant in my soul.  Unchanged in my problems. Unaddressed in my complaints.

I reclaim responsibility for my well-being.

With this new moon I notice the places where I stop myself from experiencing joy. Fun. Feeling good. I contemplate why this might be. Wondering if and how I can help myself get a little more free. Wondering how I might say no to what leaves me too drained to enjoy creating my days. Wondering how I might help myself remember that life isn’t something happening to me.

We are occurring together.

I recommit to witnessing the power of my impact. I reclaim the fact that I change the world by simply being in it. I remember that I am an artist weaving my story through time. Threaded through the fabric of it. Essential to the entirety of it. With this new moon I remember not to take for granted the impact of my creative work or the impact of my joyful self-expression.

Virgo & Virgo Rising

With this new moon I call my energy in. I find my base. My center. My place to call home. I look back at the past 3 years and marvel at the work that I have gotten done. The emotional floorboards I have laid down. The cornerstones I have been able to build a life around. The family issues I have been able to put in perspective.

It’s impossible to heal everything all at once, but it’s even harder to heal what I have no distance from.

I allow all relatives, housemates and living partners to have their own path. I’m not here to save anyone. I’m not here to take away their lessons, learning or journey. I am simply here to support myself in the ways that I can. If doing so helps create healthy connections with others then it is a sweet byproduct of what I am already dedicated to. If doing so helps to show others that it is possible for them too, I am happy about it. But I allow that process to have its own speed. I don’t need my healing to have any other impact than what I already receive.

With this new moon I continue to steadily supply myself with my needs. Helping myself find the anchors that keep me connected through the storms of life. Assisting my self-awareness so that I know where I’m coming from and where I can return to at any given time.

Libra & Libra Rising

With this new moon I call my days into order. I count the hours I have to work with. I make space for the breaks I’ll need to take to refuel. I honor the tempo that I operate best at.

I clean up my calendar so that I am as efficient as possible. I say no to what I don’t have time for. What can’t help me get ahead. What won’t deepen my relationship to my days, but what is ultimately distracting during them.

With this new moon I reflect on efforts that I have made over the past 3 years. Efforts that have made it possible for me to pour my creative energy into the shape of a life lived on purpose. I reflect on all the ways in which I have been able to construct a message out of my experiences. All the ways in which I have been able to take what I have lived through and turn it into a narrative that celebrates my strengths. That applauds all the ways in which I have navigated around obstacles. That encourages me to keep finding the successes that hide in-between the lines. This new moon reminds me of all the pathways towards my mental health, because there are many. I need not limit my healing to any one area of my life. I use this new moon to recommit to the routines that keep me grounded and coming back to myself and my well-being all day long.

Scorpio & Scorpio Rising

With this new moon I call in clarity around my resources. What to do with them. How to be in relationship with them. How to hold them in high regard.

With this new moon I look back at the last few years for perspective on how I have been learning to do this in a deeper way. I acknowledge what the past few years have helped me to create financially. What they have taught me about sustainability. What boundaries I have had to work within. I have learned that not all problems are permanent. Not all refusals are the end of the story. Not all roadblocks mark the end of the trail. Some are put onto my path to teach me something about my resilience. Some are put in my path so that I remember to reach out for help and feel the power of interdependence. Some are put in my path so that I am forced to develop a new skill.

I persevere, making sure that my assets are assisting my overall growth.

I spend time on what matters. I spend money on what matters. I spend my energy on developing relationships with all that matters most to me. I do not waste my resources on what doesn’t witness me as a valuable asset to invest in.

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising

I celebrate my growth. The hard-earned boundaries that I have set and stood by are now sturdy enough to carry me through the storms that once blew out my flame. The principles I have been able to serve and stay steadily embodying have given me a backbone that centers me. The truth that I have chosen to rebuild my life around is the altar of my choosing.

The rituals I engage in affirm the possibility of moving through the world with less baggage and more of my beauty on display.

I have moments of wobbling around these lessons, but the point is that I keep coming back. I can falter but that doesn’t mean I have failed. Learning to get back in the saddle is both half the battle and the teaching. I make myself into an incredibly astute student so that no experience feels like a waste.

All of these lessons are fuel for my self awareness. For my actualization. For the purposes of being able to serve my life with greater clarity. I distinguish my present from my past. My pain from my potential. What I have lost from what was necessary to let go of.

Sunday’s new moon is my opportunity to reset my commitment to myself. To set boundaries that protect my well-being. To align my actions with my beliefs. My growth doesn’t happen because I want it to. It happens when I am willing to serve it no matter the work involved.

Capricorn & Capricorn Rising

I am happy to linger in this moment of stillness and reflection. This part of my journey is less about movement and more about the quality of my introspection. More about integration than action. More about the quality of my contemplation.

There’s plenty of movement right around the corner. Plenty of work to be wrought. Plenty of form to fill out. I feel no need to rush.

This week helps me to unpack and unload any baggage that I’ve missed. It asks me what pieces of my personality I am learning to make peace with. What soul-wounds are up for review. What dimension of myself I am learning to love despite the discomfort.

I am committed to carrying less shame forward. Less guilt in my gut. Less dread in my overall daily experience. I am committed to having more space in my being. More love for my becoming. More curiosity about what else awaits me. I am committed to clearing out what I can. Committed to healing what I need to. Committed to understanding the power I have to scale the mountains within so that I can reach a greater, more soulful perspective.

Aquarius & Aquarius Rising

With this new moon I call in meaningful partnerships with the communities that I most want to serve. That I most want to situate myself in relationship with. That I most want to join together with to grow something long-lasting. I call in opportunities to both teach and learn with those that I hold dear. With those that hold the same vision for a sustainable and just future. With those that know how to party with a purpose.

With this new moon I reflect on the lessons that I have learned in and through my peer groups over the past few years. I am grateful for those that have taught me how to be a leader amongst leaders. Those that have taught me about growing up and getting myself together. Those that have taught me about the value of finding a team to support my strengths and navigate around my weaknesses.

With this new moon I honor the process of becoming that I am in. The process of becoming the person, friend, and accomplice that I wish to be in the world. I don’t take for granted all I have had to give up or come to terms with. All I have had to learn about asserting myself and my boundaries. All I have had to separate myself from in order to come back into a deeper relationship with my life. I am grateful for the journey and know it doesn’t stop here.

Astrology of the Week

Wednesday, December 6th

Mercury retrograde conjunct Saturn at 28° of Sagittarius

Mercury in Sagittarius sextile Mars in Libra, both at 28°

Mars in Libra sextile Saturn in Sagittarius, both at 28°

Saturday, December 9th

Mars enters Scorpio

Sunday, December 10th

Mercury in Sagittarius trine Uranus in Aries, both at 24°

Venus in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces, both at 11°

Stay with it.

Long enough to learn what it wants to teach you. Long enough to get the gift. Long enough to learn of the release it wants to help you reach.

The skies are currently filled with teachers of intensity. Whether we want to be or not, we are in their class until they say we pass.

Don’t fail yourself.

This week as Mercury, now retrograde, makes its second conjunction to Saturn, the deities of consequences are working double time. These two drive home the messages we get too stubborn to take in most times. Saturn grounds us. Often feeling like the keys to our car have been taken away, along with all other privileges associated with our freedom, this grounding requires we get still, even if we desperately wish to flee the scene.

Stay with it.

There are solid lessons to learn here. Ones that teach staying power. Persistence. Strength.

While Mercury and Saturn come together, they both sextile Mars as it moves through the last degrees of Libra. Here, Mars lends its stamina to both planets.

It’s important to tell ourselves, repeatedly, that we have the strength to succeed.

As Mars moves into Scorpio (there until January 26th), this theme picks up. Here Mars is in one of its home signs. Here, it has incredible strength. Here, it moves in secret. In the shadows. Into the deep mysteries of life.  With Jupiter already in Scorpio, Mars is given a special lift and Jupiter is given greater depth. Mars rules our desires. Jupiter our faith.

If what we believe in doesn’t have staying power, it won’t serve us in any kind of long-term way.

Mars in Scorpio ups the power that Jupiter has to play with. This means that the area of our chart that contains Scorpio gets a boost. It’s not the kind of power you want to mess about with if you don’t have respect for its magnitude. Scorpio is the sign of secrets. Since Jupiter entered Scorpio, we have witnessed what was long withheld as a well-known secret, magnified for all to bear witness to. As Mars joins Jupiter, extra emphasis will be placed on what has been occurring in private. Much will be exposed that was unethical, abusive, illegal and unacceptable.

Deep reflection, contemplation and thoughtfulness are needed as we move through these days. Mercury and Saturn are asking us to pause with the information we gather. The best way to go forward is to understand what mistakes have been made in the past. Reflection is a highly underrated attribute. This week encourages us to try it out as we get served with the realities that are up for review.

*Your Weekly horoscopes are meant to be read as inspiration.

Look for what you can learn from others. What power is gifted to you through your experience of partnership? What are you learning about sharing, merging and combining your energies with others? What resolve is forming within you that allows you to grapple with the more complex of your psychological issues?

There is a sturdiness available to you. Pour yourself into it.

Your power is amplified through the partnerships that challenge you to grow honestly. Without skipping a beat. Without fluffing up your ego. Without shaming you into submission. Take note of who in your life is invested in healing and evolving. Who is truly transforming themselves through the hard work of introspection and aligned actions. Who is developing themselves in powerful ways without their success being at the expense of those around them.

None of us are able to do this flawlessly. All of us will go in and out of consciousness in regards to how our actions are impacting our environment. But it’s the effort to stay aware of our process that counts. It’s our effort to keep finding the courage that it takes to right our wrongs that adds up to our integrity. It’s our effort to strive for growth-enhancing feedback rather than personality praise that helps us live our best life. This Mercury retrograde would have you go for nothing less.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

The sheer power of your feelings cannot be denied. The magnitude of your impact on others should not be underestimated. The intensity of your experience is important to hold with a great deal of conscious awareness.

It’s impossible to always know what to do with the emotional energy that others evoke in you, but it’s completely within reach to witness it while it’s occurring. You are responsible for knowing where you are emotionally (which is its own journey with a big learning curve), but you are allowed to be unsure of what to do with it.

When in doubt, write it out. Put the pen to paper. Put yourself on the healer’s table. Put your body, mind and soul in places and spaces where you can vent until you feel empty of excess baggage.

Each emotion that we feel carries with it considerable power. Direct this power towards specific containers when it feels unruly. Direct this power towards trusting in the process of your life when it feels unencumbered by chaos. Direct this power towards developing a deeper understanding of your relationship dynamics and what they are teaching you. With Mars in your 7th house of committed partnerships until January 26th, you are given ample opportunity to learn lessons around intimacy. We are all at different stages of our development around this topic. Make sure that you aren’t assuming your partners, business or pleasure, are at the same place as you are.

Some of the world’s greatest wounds come from folks not knowing how to be respectful of one another’s boundaries. We have an exceptionally hard time navigating intimacy with others, personally and collectively. Unpack the information that arrives with these opportunities slowly, so that you can experience the powerful transformations that they can provide you.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

Mars enters Scorpio this week introducing you to a six-week long look at the power of your routines. This is an invitation to spend more time developing strategies that can help you get ahead with certain work projects and career ambitions. Every major accomplishment starts out as a minor movement. A seemingly unimportant action. A small offering. This transit reminds you of the power and the importance of putting your attention on the present moment. On what you have agency over in the here and now. On what you can encourage yourself to get done day to day.

Stick with the habits that help your progress. Keep strategizing about ways to trick yourself into doing what you don’t want to, but need to, get done. Keep watch for the mysteriously magical relationship between acceptance and ease.

As Mercury gets deeper into its retrograde it brings with it a myriad of lessons that come through your most important partnerships. Keep reviewing them. Try not to rush through them. Many of the systems that we live within tell us to keep going. To power through. To rise above. But when it comes to the heart, so much of our development happens in the struggle. Love your partnerships enough to wrestle with what is there so that you might be better able to love them in all their complexity and beauty. The boundaries that you develop and adhere to here will serve you for a long time to come.

Cancer & Cancer Rising

This week asks you to get familiar with the edges and boundaries of your deadlines. Responsibilities weigh heavily on your time table. Like fruit too burdensome for the vine, your projects need you to labor in their fields so they can eventually be set loose on the world.

As you do so, remember those that your work serves. Remember how the work might be helpful once it gets out in the world. Remember that if you want to make an impact there are things that you have to put up with. Like hours that won’t stretch themselves. Like days that are too short. Like weeks that are too long. Like things going wrong.

Rightly so given this astro.

How can you take responsibility for your way of working given the conditions that you are in? The obstacles that are in front of you need to be met by an incredibly exacting use of your time. Don’t waste what you haven’t got.

With Mars moving into your 5th house of creative energy, projects and productions, you have a powerful ally at your side. But powerful isn’t peaceful. Mars rouses your passion, but it needs to be channelled with precision. Consider the ways in which you might put this energy to use. Ways in which you might direct it towards the creations that encourage you to recognize your own strength. Ways in which you can focus yourself to get done what you need to, then revel in the pleasures and passions that await you.

Leo & Leo Rising

There is power in getting grounded. There is an energetic force of life to connect to. There is support at your base.

Tap in to it.

Look back at what has driven you all this time. Since childhood. Since before birth. Since your memory began. What has been the through line of your life? What desire has dominated your decision making? What need motivates you most?

As Mars spends the next 6 weeks in the part of your chart that deals with all of your (in)security issues, you get to experience the power of securing a connection to yourself. Security is a state of being. It’s something that we can only truly create from within and nothing from the outside world can rearrange it once we have it. Mars wants to help you become a master of this method of being.

As Mercury works its way through its retrograde, it asks you to deepen your study of your creative energy, projects and pursuits. What do you need to be more mindful of in regards to your energy? What do you need to give yourself permission to create? What do you need to allow yourself the freedom to experiment with while developing the discipline it takes to understand it from all angles?

Virgo & Virgo Rising

As Mercury routes around the base of your chart and life, it pulls up all kinds of forgotten facts. Memories. Receipts.

Receiving confirmation of an old wound can be healing, but it can also be re-triggering. Take time with what you discover. Take time with what is coming to light. Take time with what and how you review your past as you parse out what it might mean for your present and future.

Mercury’s retrograde points to the hefty responsibilities that you bear in regards to home, family or your parents in particular. This material is nothing new, it’s just needing your careful review.

As Mars moves through Scorpio for the next 6 weeks, it works on awakening your appetite for pleasure. For passion. For gloriously dirty dalliances. For the pursuit of all things beautiful in your life.

There is a creative power and potency that you are afforded at this time. One that has a confidence in its own abilities. A swagger in its step. A sauciness in its sentiment. Leave time and space open to explore this aspect of yourself. Help the energy find appropriate channels to be poured through. Invest in what helps you feel potent. Encourage your inner flirt to find places and spaces where it is appreciated and able to play.

Libra & Libra Rising

Apply patience and persistence in your most important communications. Make sure you get a chance to communicate what you need to and then let go of any expectations about the response. Your schedule may be unfairly packed solid at this point. Do your best not to take on what you don’t have time for. Do your best to put off what isn’t pressing. Do your best to teach yourself the power of no.

No. The complete sentence that never stops giving.

There are most likely things in your day to day life that need to be reassessed. Take a look at what you dread doing, what is dead weight, what doesn’t have to be on your plate, and imagine doing away with it. If you feel much lighter when you do, that’s a pretty big sign it’s time to let it go when you get the chance to. You may need to wait until after Mercury has completed its retrograde (December 22nd), but you can use this time to revise any necessary escape routes or exit strategies.

As Mars moves into Scorpio for the next 6 weeks, it will be up-leveling your ability to develop your resources. Go for what you want. Defend, protect and serve your sources and resources of income. Be a brave warrior for your professional life. You might notice that one of your greatest assets is your courage. Put it to use as much as you need to in the coming weeks. This is your time to experience the power that you possess to support yourself and the projects you are passionate about.

Scorpio & Scorpio Rising

Understand your rage. Its power. Its origins. Its velocity.

It is incredible fuel for creating change. Or for destroying everything in sight. The more we hold it consciously, the more we can direct it creatively. Cunningly. Conspiring with others that are interested in mastering their tools of transformation.

With both Mars and Jupiter in your sign you are prone to be more connected to your power. To hep this along try to meditate on it. Sense it. Allow yourself to sink into your strengths. Remind yourself of them. Situate yourself so that they are central to your days. To your creations. To your entire set up.

Allow for the release of pent up emotions to surface. They are pockets of energy withheld from the rest of your life. Frustration is an incredible teacher. One that points to places of un-lived potential. One that tells us some talent has been misdirected. One that lets us know that it’s time to pay attention to a part of our lives that hasn’t had the chance to flourish.

This astrology wants to help you remember what you are made of. It wants to help you remember how to hold both your softness and your strength. Growth that doesn’t help you deepen isn’t going to take you far. Allow space for both your beauty and your beast to have a place where they are appreciated.

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising

Being different is an asset. A power. A resource to draw from.

Staying true to your differences requires that you trust what makes you unique. What gives you strength. What helps you move against the tides of conformity.

What enables you to break away enables you to know yourself no matter what. No matter who approves. No matter whose love is conditional. No matter whose faith in you waivers when you wave your true colors.

This week celebrates your ability to be yourself. Come pressure or praise, the more you refuse to be defined by another’s standards, the more you’ll be able to express and assert yourself in the world as you wish to be. Mercury retrograde helps you to review all the ways in which you can be of service to yourself.

As Mars enters Scorpio, you are connected to an internal supply of power and resilient resplendency.

This is period where what you are incubating has a potent and powerful container to develop within. Don’t be afraid to keep somethings for yourself. Don’t feel pressured to reveal the whole story if it isn’t ready for sharing. Don’t worry about being perceived as secretive. Some creations need that kind of protection and you are the only one that can give that to them. Be a protective parent to the creations that aren’t yet ready to be in the world on their own.

Capricorn & Capricorn Rising

With Mars in Scorpio for the next 6 weeks, your connections have a powerful impact. Your meetings have extra wattage. Extra ability to move you in the directions of your dreams. Extra potency to move your current reality towards a future you feel passionate about.

What might seems like a chance meeting can turn out to be a defining moment.

Introduce yourself to folks that you most wish to work with. Notice whom in your existing social structure supports your overall expansion while digging the depth of your character. Say yes to the people that come bearing opportunities. Grand and teeny tiny. Everything you do with others grows this year.

You claim your destiny every time you make an effort to get to it. Let it know you are on your way.

As Mercury moves deeper into its retrograde and the part of your chart that hides things from you and reveals them when you least expect it, you are most likely getting inundated with information from your subconscious. There isn’t much to do with this but witness it. It’s coming to consciousness so that it can be better understood, healed and put to use. However, the ways in which you do this aren’t always straightforward. You’ll have to follow the clues and listen for the cues. Seek to hold all the parts rather than to fit them together.

Aquarius & Aquarius Rising

The next 6 weeks inundate you with a drive to get things done. Professionally, this is a high point for you. A time when you aren’t willing to withhold the magnitude of your power. A moment that you’ll be able to look back on and marvel at the importance of what you got done.

What you start now might take a little time to grow, but the seed of it carries big and broad ideas, capacities, and abilities to leave an impact. Don’t sell yourself short. Don’t underestimate the importance of every ounce of energy that you put in. Don’t wonder too much about knowing what to do next. There are events lined up, awaiting your availability.

Keep it moving. Get to what you are passionate about. Spend your time and energy on what you are dedicated to putting out into the world. It wants to be there so it can strut its stuff and do its thing. Don’t get in the way of its groove. Serve the work. Be the best backup singer you can so that your labor of love feel yours.

Astrology of the Week

Monday, November 27th

Mercury conjunct Saturn at 27° of Sagittarius

Friday, December 1st

Venus enters Sagittarius

Mars in Libra opposes Uranus in Aries, both at 25°

Saturday, December 2nd

Jupiter in Scorpio trine Neptune in Pisces, both at 11°

Mercury stations retrograde at 29° of Sagittarius

Sunday, December 3rd

Sun in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces

Full moon at 11° of Gemini

The week’s most pressing theme is communication. Information. Messages and their delivery. Our attention and where we place it. With Mercury making a conjunction to Saturn, as it stations retrograde, during a week with a full moon in Gemini (one of the signs Mercury rules) that is in an exact square to Neptune, we can be sure that we are going to get some things wrong.

Rightly so, though. These are days where misunderstandings are perfect pathways into deeper knowing.

On Monday, Mercury conjuncts Saturn amplifying post-holiday/post-weekend blues and highlighting what exactly obstructs our path. This may be a thought pattern or situation that doesn’t seem to budge but, no matter what is slowing us down, the trick with Saturn is to do the best job we can no matter how we feel. This transit is a meditation. If Saturn is going to impede our speed, we might as well take the opportunity to observe our experience. Saturn teaches us that having boundaries is necessary if we are ever to experience more than just our immediate emotional response.

Boundaries breed perspective.

By Friday, Venus joins both Mercury and Saturn in Sagittarius. There until December 24th, Venus finds pleasure in the quest. Venus in Sagittarius loves far and wide. Loves with greater ease the more room it is given. Loves with the urgency of a traveler that might not see you again.

Venus is gracing Sagittarius’s spaces with some of its much needed sweetness. While Mercury and Saturn here set up some difficulties for us, Venus assists when and where it can. This creates a mixed situation for us to sort through in the area of our chart that contains Sagittarius. With both the heavy burden of responsibility and the pleasure that can come when we seek to be in relationship with a deeper understanding of our duties, the area of our chart that contains Sagittarius has much to teach us in the coming month.

On the same day as Venus’s entrance into a new sign, Mars in Libra opposes Uranus in Aries. Mars is the last of a series of planets moving through Libra and opposing Uranus for some time. Mars in opposition to Uranus is an incredibly disruptive, distracting, disturbing-the-peace kind of moment in the week. One that will be felt on the days leading up to it and the days after it. This transit is bound to add shock waves to Mercury’s already confusing twists and turns. Waves that lead us into the weekend’s intriguing waters of Jupiter’s trine to Neptune, Mercury’s consequential station retrograde, and the dreamy and deluded full moon in Gemini square Neptune.

This is a weekend where folks will want to reach for the ideal scenario. A weekend that can remind us of the exquisite importance of optimism. A weekend that makes known the consequences of mistaking a mirage for a final destination.

As Jupiter trines Neptune (the first of three transits between these two over the course of the next year) the urge to connect is magnified. These two together want to bring out the best of our human hearts. They want to elevate our minds to places where we might remember how incredible a gift it is to make even the smallest acts of kindness central to our everyday life. They want to bring us back to the importance of striving for some larger understanding of our little human life and extending that out to all we come in contact with.

It’s a high worth riding.

But steady on. Mercury’s station retrograde is right around the corner. In a sign in which Mercury struggles a great deal, sitting next to Saturn, Mercury’s last retrograde of the year is one that is defining. Lining up with a time when we are naturally looking back on the year past, this review is an important one. This is the end of Saturn’s transit through Sagittarius. These two come together twice over the next three weeks delivering important messages about Saturn’s time here. Since it will be another 30 years before Saturn re-enters Sagittarius, it’s a bitter sweet goodbye. Whatever we have been able to define, dedicate and get serious about in this area of our lives will serve us for the next 3 decades to come.

Come the very end of the week, Neptune plays tricks with the sun and moon. Squaring them both during the full moon, Neptune will make us parse out which situations inspire us to new heights and which leave us too intoxicated to pick ourselves up the next day.

Keep as grounded as you can.

Your weekly horoscopes are meant to be read as inspiration. If you know both your rising sign and sun sign, please read both horoscopes. They both contain important information. You’ll know which resonates more for you from week to week. Take what works for you, leave the rest. If you find inspiration here we love and appreciate donations. If you want to share this work you must quote it and link it to this post and website. Thank you for your support and for spreading the work around, we really appreciate it and you!

Aries & Aries Rising

So rarely is our path straightforward. So infrequently do our most important life lessons make sense in the moment. So seldom do we trust that the chaos we encounter has a purpose.

Faith isn’t free. We have to work for it. With it. We have to try our best to understand that sometimes the most painful lessons are so excruciating because of how tightly we are holding onto an idea of how it should work out.

As Mercury retrogrades through the part of your chart that helps you make meaning, you’ll be asked to give in to the oddly beautiful life lessons that you are, and have been, faced with. The less you cling to ideas of what you should be doing at this point in your life, the more room you’ll have to witness the importance of the process that you are in. The more you focus on the next small move, the less important the daunting nature of your route.

As the full moon peaks, some communication helps you to open up and understand a relationship dynamic in a new way. The messages might be unclear from the sender, but that in and of itself is a ton of information.

The most important thing to do right now is to be clear with yourself. Clear about what you deserve. What boundaries you are committed to keeping. What beauty you are dedicated to witnessing within yourself. And most importantly, clear about the path you are on and why you are on it. These next few weeks reveal the roadblocks along your journey, but they also reveal the importance of them. What they are teaching you. What you are developing as a result. What you are now much better at understanding, gleaning meaning from and not taking personally.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

Defining our emotional boundaries is a nuanced and tricky business. It depends greatly on trial, error, and our ability to learn from both. Some days it feels easy to call it what it is. Some days it feels impossible to. Some days we might be unsure about when our emotional baggage is getting in the way and when it’s another person being some kind of way that we can’t follow along with.

Sometimes we know what to do in the moment. Sometimes we need time to parse out the personal from the situational.

Over the next month, Mercury’s retrograde will have you in an in-depth review about what happens when you take too much on, what goes on when you put too much out and how, where and when to strike a balance.

Being able to know when and what to invest in will help your reserves overflow with the bounty that is yours to share far and wide.

Sunday’s full moon illuminates financial issues. Bills you may have missed. Payments you didn’t know where passed due. Expenses, both material and energetic, that you may not have budgeted for. Keep a little extra coin in your pockets. It’s not just the moon that’s messing with your bank books. Since Mercury rules this part of your chart, its retrograde is also fiscally frisky.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

Mercury makes your words land heavier than usual this week. Weigh them accordingly. If it doesn’t need to be said and it’s potentially going to be more problematic than prosperous, let it rest. If you aren’t sure about it and it doesn’t need to be emphasized, keep it. If you know it will only cause issues for you or the people you spill to, sit with it.

This isn’t the season to meddle. Leave well enough alone.

However, thanks to the full moon in your sign, this week brings up lessons about your sense of self in relationship to everyone else that are incredibly important to ponder and pay attention to. Where do you tend to diminish yourself? Hide your glory? Dismiss your own desires? Where do you tend to forget about the needs of your partners? Flake on your promises? Flee when the pain feels too much? Where do you find a balance between meeting yourself and everyone else? Spend time expanding into these spaces.

Notice the relationships that, over the course of the last three years, have offered you a place to find yourself within. Solid walls. Fertile soil. Warm hearths. What have they taught you about your truth? How to hold it? Walk with it? Center it in all you do? These coming weeks ask you to keep true to the lessons your loves and partners have helped you harness.

Cancer & Cancer Rising

Comfort is key for creatures like you. What is soothing is sacred. What is disruptive, unholy. What keeps you from your calm is a constant thorn in your side.

This week may present a prickly issue. One that isn’t at all new, but one that connects to your core issues and concerns. It’s about what keeps you from feeling at peace. What pokes around the places you’d rather have left alone. What discomfort spurs you into action.

Move towards what reminds you to stay grounded in yourself.

As Mercury’s retrograde and the full moon in Gemini will make clear, all you can do is what is in front of you. The rest is out of your control. The rest is about working on what you can when you can. Restorative rest is important if you are to enjoy what you accomplish.

The full moon is asking you to take some time out of your busy schedule if possible. It’s asking you to pay attention to any anxieties, fears and phobias that arise. It’s letting you know that the root of these ailments is far more important to pay attention to than the symptoms. The cure is in your ability to harness the power of affirming routines. Whatever helps you feel clear-headed, heart centered and open to understanding what is disturbing your equilibrium and why, is what you need to spend your days dedicated to. Allot some time to practicing the meditations that keep you grounded in the sacred nature of the mundane.

Leo & Leo Rising

This week’s Mercury retrograde/full moon combination stretches out across the part of your chart that has to do with what you desire to create and who is on the receiving end of it. What you love and whom you share it with. What you wish to make come true and who is there in support of your deepest desires, dreams and hopes for the future.

As Mercury spends the next few weeks retrograde, it does so through the part of your chart that deals with your creative energy, children and all pursuits of love and pleasure. It reviews all of the deadlines, obstacles and opportunities you have faced in these areas over the past couple of years. It asks you if you have been able to learn how to love what you’ve brought into form and, if not, what final tweaks, edits and reshaping are needed. To it or to your judgement of it.

We can’t change what has occurred, but our relationship to it changes as we heal. Take note of what you have had to struggle with and ultimately learn how to appreciate, integrate and acknowledge as a teacher.

As the full moon blooms, it sheds light on your networks. You might notice that some relationships are going through their own review process. Don’t be overly committed to impressing any one audience in particular. As your relationship to your creations changes, so too will the groups you align yourself with.

Virgo & Virgo Rising

The burdens of your past need not hinder your present. They can inform this moment. Deepen your appreciation of it. Sturdy your resolve to succeed where and when you can. But nothing that you have done previously dictates your abilities currently.

You are not your past mistakes. Miscalculations. Misunderstandings.

This week, as Mercury stations retrograde you are offered a deeper understanding of this. Your past is a tremendous resource to draw from, but it is no place to stay stuck in.

A seed must leave its former shape to discover the exquisite beauty of its leaves.

This weekend’s full moon draws forth your inner potential. It shines brightly in the most obvious part of your chart. It illuminates your career goals, gifts and gains. It highlights what you get right and what you still seem to get caught up in.

Don’t let the ghosts of years past drift around in vain. Name them. Claim them. Call them what they are. The more you acknowledge what your past has taught you, the more you’ll be able to see the incredible wealth it is, and the more you’ll be able to see your difficulties as incredible layers of wisdom that lie within you.

Libra & Libra Rising

Remain more interested in what the disruptions are teaching you about yourself, than the fact that they are such a pain in your ass. What throws a curve ball at you is annoying, yes, but there’s something deeper that this life circumstance is trying to get to. Something just below the surface of your anger, upset or agitation is trying to get your attention.

Listen.

These sentiments are important. They want to teach you something that normally can’t get through. Something that you miss when things go smoothly. Whatever demands that we stretch ourselves offers us the opportunity to discover the potential in us that otherwise lies dormant.

Discover what you are capable of in the chaos and the comforts of life.

This week Mercury retrograde and the full moon feel out ways in which to draw your attention to the short term action plans and long-term goals you’ve got on your radar. Some of these plans will stand the storms of this cosmic weather and some will blow away with the winds of change. None of this will become entirely clear until the beginning of next year. These days will unravel what isn’t meant to make it to 2018.

Fear not.

Editing is a skill that is neither for the faint-of-heart nor the overly sentimental. Success requires that we become incredibly adept at letting go of what might be beautiful, but not meant for this time, place or particular scene. Don’t be afraid to remove from your grand plan what you thought was a no brainer. Trust that there is more waiting for you than you can imagine at the moment and be open to making room for it with great gratitude.

Scorpio & Scorpio Rising

Amidst a wily week, you have a special blessing. Given the good graces of Jupiter’s trine to Neptune, you are more prone than most to enjoy the chaos of these cosmic patterns. Harness the gifts by giving in to your urges to give. To connect. To feel the fullness and sweetness of generosity. Because Mercury’s conjunction to Saturn may have you thinking that there is less available to you than there is, combat the sentiment by paying for a stranger’s coffee. Giving something to someone that needs it. Letting compliments fall out of your mouth as often as exhales.

This weekend’s Mercury retrograde/full moon combination has you looking at the measurements of your sales and savings. Your intake and output. The rules and guidelines that govern your finances and feelings of worthiness. This next month is an invitation to clear out your financial closets. Sort through your receipts. Pay a visit to your bookkeeper, resource development experts or priestesses of profit management. This is a time to get better acquainted with all you have to work with, how you are working with it and what you’d like to be able to create as you move forward. Remember that gratitude and generosity are your guiding goddesses towards a greater sense of abundance. Go forward accordingly.

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising

Love will always teach us our greatest lessons. Love will always pull from us our best. Love will always lead us to our greatest accomplishments. Sunday’s full moon brings these lessons into focus. It reveals the importance of building your relationships upon solid ground.

Slowly.

Saturn will always teach us the importance of taking our time. The importance of layering the lessons that we are learning. The importance of going over things again, and again, and again. Since Saturn is finishing up its time in Sagittarius, not to return for another 30 years, while Mercury is stationing retrograde beside it, you are given the gift of reviewing the lessons you have learned about patience. Persistence. Perseverance.

What was an insurmountable burden three years ago is (hopefully) now a lesson in resilience that you will draw from for decades to come. Appreciate the time it has taken to move the mountains that you have. A few years might be nothing in the span of a life, but emotional, spiritual and energetic time works in its own way.

Time is not only length but depth.

The deeper you have let yourself go over these years, the further you have or will be able to grow in the opposite direction come the next few. Let Mercury’s last retrograde of the year remind you of the depth of resolve you have been able to acquire through some of the toughest lessons of your life.

Astrology of the Week

Tuesday, November 21st

Venus in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn, both at 17°

Sun enters Sagittarius

Wednesday, November 22nd

Neptune stations Direct at 11° of Pisces

Saturday, November 25th

Mercury in Sagittarius trine Uranus in Aries, both at 25°

Growth isn’t easy. It requires discomfort. It requires that we navigate around our expectations that things should be easy. It requires that we hold our reactions to what is uncomfortable.  Long enough to learn something about ourselves. Long enough to get to know what has remained hidden until now. Long enough to learn how to love ourselves through the process that we are in.

As Scorpio season comes to a close (though lessons from these waters will not run dry entirely, as Jupiter will remain there all year), Venus lines up to form a sextile with Pluto. This transit encourages us to integrate the lessons that Scorpio season flooded us with. This transit helps us to honor the intensity of our love. This transit reminds us of the transformative power of connection. This transit can reawaken our commitment to reducing harm by understanding how and when we tend to perpetuate it.

We heal a little bit of our hearts each time we witness ourselves in our entirety. We all must learn to love the hardest parts of ourselves back into softness.

On the same day as the Venus/Pluto sextile, the sun moves into Sagittarius. From the regenerative subterranean escapades of Scorpio season, the sun’s entrance into Sagittarius inspires us to make leaps and bounds above ground. Flying through time and space, Sagittarius is the seeker, the journeyer, the teacher, the wisdom-carrier.

The sun meets Mercury and Saturn while in Sagittarius. Both planets are currently undergoing incredibly important journeys here. Mercury, already slowing down to station retrograde on December 3rd, will cross paths with Saturn not once, but two times. Saturn, about to end its 2.5 year journey through Sagittarius, is tying up the lessons we have learned here. In the coming weeks we will be reviewing them. Lessons of faith and fortitude. Explorations and practical innovations. Building structures sturdy and flexible enough to be home to our ever-expanding understanding of the world and our place in it.

This Saturday, Mercury will trine Uranus, asking us to receive and deliver the ideas that see life beyond the boxes we are taught to put ourselves into. It’s a transit that helps us find new strategies to old problems and, as Mercury moves more slowly, this wisdom reminds us that it isn’t about how fast we move, but how thoughtfully we do.

Wednesday pulls focus, however, as Neptune stations direct at 11° of Pisces. Any planet changing direction will tend to do that. Neptune, deity of the oceans and seas, in Pisces, the mutable water sign, reminds us of the fluids that connect us all. Oceans. Tears. Waters of the womb. We are dependent on water. Indebted to water. Descendants of water.

Neptune is a planet that infuses whatever it touches with idealism. Escapism. Fantasy. It reminds us of the incredible power of suggestion. Of imagery. Of intoxicants. Neptune works through images, dreams, and illusions. Sometimes we need a little make-believe in order to get into the groove of manifesting something into being. Sometimes we have to fake it until we make it. With Neptune stationing direct, this aspect of our personal and collective world gets amplified.

Look to see if you have any planets between 10° – 12° of Pisces, Gemini, Virgo or Sagittarius as they will be most effected by this transit.

*Your weekly horoscopes are meant to be read as inspiration. If you know both your rising sign and sun sign, please read both horoscopes. They both contain important information. Aries & Aries Rising

This week’s astrology pulls focus on your long-term plans. As the sun moves into Sagittarius, issues with travel, teaching, learning and publishing opportunities surface. This moment isn’t about barreling ahead, however. This moment is best spent gathering information about which of your adventures have been the most satisfying, and which have been more taxing than they were worth.

These next few weeks will ask you to review the lessons of the past 2-3 years. Lessons about your faith. Philosophies. Strategies for the future. Take some time this week to investigate what propelled you onto the path that you are currently on. Why did you decide to move in this direction? Which of your intentions for doing so are still solid and sustaining? Which were based in fear? A feeling of lack? The need to fill in a gap?

Notice what intentions lie at the center of your current plans for the future. How in-line are they with your integrity? Do they amplify it? Do they contradict it? How does the thought of your future strategies strengthen you? Increase your energy? Inspire your best to come forth? If the thought of them doesn’t, the reality of them won’t. Remember to keep orienting yourself towards all that wakes you up, and keep divesting from all that keeps you numb to your soul’s desires.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

It’s a good time to contemplate why you’d do it. It’s a good time to question if you really have it to give. It’s a good time to ponder if it’s a fair trade.

For both sides.

As the sun enters Sagittarius, joining Mercury and Saturn, it highlights the progress and the prickly edges of your exchanges. It asks you to contemplate what you give your energy to. And why. Allow time to investigate your reasons for giving others your time, energy and talents. Investigate what you are actually asking of others when you need their efforts and exchanges.

Make sure that every investment you make, or ask others to, is aligned with motivations you can write home about. Make an effort to remember the boundaries that keep you feeling firmly rooted in yourself. Remind yourself that your power is amplified every time you enter into partnerships that honor your limits and support your steady growth.

This week highlights the hopefulness that friends can fill you with and the importance of sharing your dreams with those that weave the same kind of reflective reverie. Find yourself in the places that support your visions and your aspirations for the future to keep you buoyed in the present.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

What dreams do you have for your career? What visions do you hold for your professional life? What do you most wish your work to be infused with?

Brew your potions. Intoxicate your profession with them. Seduce your aspirations into reality.

This week, as Neptune stations direct it encourages you to believe in the power of invoking all that you want to experience in your career.

You are a powerful creator.

Place your awareness on all that you wish to experience more of so that you will naturally veer towards creating it. Make a point of praising your desires. Invite them into your consciousness so that you can experience their emotional impact on you. Whatever we feel strongly about, we tend to make more of. Feel your way into the creation of your success.

Take some time this week to daydream about the kind of impact you wish to make in the world. The kind of sentiment you wish to inspire in others. The kind of kindness you hope gets paid forward. Take note of the relationships that help guide you, inspire you and support you in your journey. The relationships that hold you accountable to your goals. The relationships that serve as good containers for your concoctions. The relationships that require your commitment and your dedication to moving through the process of becoming. A good relationship will pull every poison from our system. The trick is learning how to hold the experience without shutting down, blaming others or shaming ourselves for being human. The coming weeks will teach you many lessons along these lines. Stay open to learning something entirely new about you and your partners.

Cancer & Cancer Rising

This week give yourself some room to move around. You don’t have to have a good reason for an adventure. Needing one is enough.

Get some fresh air in your lungs. Sunlight on your skin. New environments that inspire you.

With an incredible amount of work to get done over the coming month, you’ll need to fortify yourself with all that keeps you inspired to engage in your growth process. Practices that have you developing your spiritual strength. Routines that keep your awareness on the bigger picture. Whatever helps you to stay connected to yourself, do a little more of it everyday.

There is more to this moment than you can make out. More to this time than might make sense. More to the events that are unfolding than you might understand. Your work is to trust the process that you are in. Your work is to stay with it until the end. Your work is to know that whatever you leave prematurely will have to be dealt with in another form. You can choose to learn the lessons somewhere else, but you can’t opt out of them completely. Choosing to support yourself through any discomfort can be key to moving more efficiently towards resolution. Towards a clearer understanding of what is needed from you in the moment. Towards a more integrated understanding of what life is helping you to develop internally, in spite of how it might appear on the outside.

Leo & Leo Rising

Your creations need you. Wait for you. Work your last nerve sometimes, but the efforts that you put into your creative projects come back to you a million fold over the following weeks and months.

Whatever you have learned about focusing your talent to grow your potential is your golden ticket to fulfillment. Every small thing you do, every seemingly insignificant skill you master, every mindful moment you give your projects adds up to a major accomplishment. It adds up to a life spent in relationship with your potential. It adds up to proving your talents are worth the effort to work on. It adds up to giving yourself the opportunity to find out how you shine.

As you work to reclaim the right to take up space, be encouraging with yourself. As you begin to integrate recent lessons about healing the wounds of your past, be gentle with your process. As you continue to learn what it means to meet your own needs, congratulate yourself every time you do. Most of us are still waiting for someone somewhere to give us a little nod of appreciation. Some of us are still awaiting thunderous applause. Give yourself a little of both. Cheer your sincere efforts on. The worst that can happen is that you start to enjoy the effort it takes to create your life as you need it to be.

To understand how the astrology of 2018 will effect your sign, key dates to work with, and the major themes of your year, join me for 2018: The Year Ahead for Your Sign

Virgo & Virgo Rising

What are you learning to let your partners help you with? Hold you through? Carry with you? What softening has your heart been yearning to melt into? Embrace? Experience?

Ask for help. Allow yourself time to express, experience and witness your vulnerability. It is powerful. Intelligent. Full of information to unpack. Vulnerability is a virtue. It is a portal through which we can connect to the moment more fully. Find the spaces where it is safe for you to be so. Spaces that are strong enough to hold your tenderest parts. Spaces wise enough to reflect the truth of your experiences.

Opening to the moment reminds us that success isn’t always in the accomplishing of things. It is also (and maybe mostly) in our ability to learn along the way. Give yourself permission to take this time to honor what you are being taught.

As the sun, Mercury and Saturn sink down to the root of your chart, you’re asked to take notice of what you have as a foundation. What homes you have been able to build over the past 3 years. What family dynamics you have to review your relationship to.

You are closing in on understanding, in a much deeper way, the needs that you have and how to fulfill them. Stay with that process as it is bound to bring you information over the next month that will reveal to you things you didn’t know you needed.

Libra & Libra Rising

The next month asks you to take an in-depth look at the ways in which you use your days. The ways in which you structure your time tells a tale. Where you put your conscious awareness has an impact.

The planets are suggesting a mental cleanse. A media diet. A boundary to help reclaim your attention. To protect your intellectual energy. To encourage your ability to think on your own terms. The planets want to help you move into a deeper relationship with your intuition. Your internal way of knowing. Your gut reaction.

Give yourself some time to experiment with what disciplines help you access this wisdom within. Which help you attain mental clarity. Which bring you moments of calm. Which help you tap into the power of your thoughts when directed towards where you have agency. Keep oriented towards the moment. The future is a fine thing to ponder, but right now you are being asked to be incredibly intentional about how you spend the moment that you are in.

Scorpio & Scorpio Rising

The material realm is a wonderful teacher. Financial consequences generally grab hold of our attention immediately. The trick is to take the lessons seriously without getting tricked into thinking that material objects hold more power than we do. Or any power save for what we give them.

Over the past 3 years you’ve been asked to make what you can from the assets that you have access to. It’s been a test of your tenacity. Creativity. Ability to dedicate yourself to the incredible task of building yourself a bridge to the support that you need.

Now it’s time to review that bridge. Making sure it is steady. Making sure it is reliable. Making sure that you know it is still a work in progress. The point of this work hasn’t been to make any one immovable decision about your work. The point has been to make your dedication to your spiritual growth, through your experiences of the physical world unfaltering. Unwavering. You are not what you earn or amass. You are what you feel about yourself as you do so.

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising

The consequences of what you say yes to are extra impactful over the next month. Say yes to what you want to help take shape. Say yes to what you are willing to struggle with. Say yes to what you are prepared to work hard with and for.

The ripple effect of what you say no to has a defining quality that cannot be underestimated at the moment. Give yourself time when you need to negotiate. Ask for a moment to sit with things. Sleep on them. Mull them over.

You have the right to take your time.

You need never rush a right decision. What isn’t yours isn’t going to work out no matter if you hurry it or run circles around it. But what is yours will always be. Look for what is effortless to say yes to.

As the sun, Mercury and Saturn all come together in Sagittarius you get to reflect upon the incredible work you’ve done on yourself over the past 3 years. What you have said yes to is now nothing short of the foundation that holds you. What you have said no to is nothing short of having helped you self-actualize. Your current form is no mistake. What you have been able to define for yourself, what you have been able to bring into form, what you have been able to make real needs to be honored. Bless the efforts you have made. Make sure that you keep yourself on the same kind of growth-enhancing track. Remind yourself that the process of becoming is a daunting one, but one that is never-ending in its gifts.

Capricorn & Capricorn Rising

Your secret life is one to protect. Honor. Accept as it is. Your experience of this part of yourself is incredibly important. The insights that it brings to light. The long-lost information that it helps to resurface. The long-forgotten realities that drive you in one direction or another.

The shadow self holds incredible power.

Over the next month you are likely to experience this power. The parts of yourself that you either haven’t ever been aware of or parts of yourself that you haven’t bumped into in a while will make themselves known. These introductions come bearing gifts of self-knowledge and affirmation, but they might appear more monstrous than friendly at first.

As humans we tend to project our greatest fears onto whatever is a convenient target. Instead of buying into feelings of fear, shame or blame, take note if there is another way to move with the feelings that come up from moment to moment. Get very curious about what you might be projecting outwards that can only be resolved inwardly. Stay with what you are experiencing and keep asking how you might address it with more awareness, compassion and perception.

Aquarius & Aquarius Rising

Spend some time clarifying what dreams you are directing your energy towards. What goals of common good are you applying your talents to? What futures are you learning to redefine for yourself?

Your visions for upcoming possibilities have never been conceived by anyone else. They need not be judged by any other standard save their own. They need not be devalued because they have never known the light of day.

They need only know the light of your love, encouragement, effort and appreciation.

Over the coming weeks these visions for the future will be both tested and encouraged. Those around you may misunderstand the potential that your ideas bear. Those around you might dampen some of your optimism. Those around you will provide you with some much needed feedback sparking interesting spin-offs for you to try out. Don’t be dissuaded by those that don’t get it but don’t be too proud to take in the suggestions that are supporting the ultimate growth of what you’ve got going on.

This is a time that, in general, encourages your professional empowerment. Part of the way in which you’ll be supported in this is by learning how to move through what used to stop you. Confuse you. Derail you. Over the past 3 years you’ve been able to develop better boundaries around all of this, but the next month will review their strength and structure, helping you to ultimately be a better accomplice to your wildest dreams.

Thursday, November 16th

Saturday, November 18th

Sunday, November 19th

Mars in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn, both at 17°

Manifesting anything requires that, along with hard work and dedication, we become willing to move through the extremely uncomfortable feelings that are sure to arise along our journey. Feelings about our worthiness. Our ability to do the work. The validity of the thing we are trying to bring into being.

This week, Venus and Jupiter come together in Scorpio. The two together bring an incredible abundance. Excess. Opulence. Healing through joyful unions.

Sometimes hangovers.

Whatever shape this transit takes, it will be bring something abundant in emotional intensity. Having both benefics (planets that bring good things into our lives) coming together in the sign of a malefic (planets that challenge us, sometimes too much) encouraged us to honor the paradoxes of life. We might indulge desires we often deny. We might feel a mix of exhilaration alongside unrelenting grief in regards to all that is coming to light in our lives and in our world. We might find ways to begin a healing process around something that has been too tender to touch, until now.

With this kind of astrology, something positive is gleaned out of situations that have caused harm. Slowly.

It’s common to want to take immediate action to remedy a hurt. But what gets revealed under this kind of astrology should be unpacked with an incredible thoughtfulness and respect for the intricate complexities brought up by each instance of abuse, betrayal and harm that gets revealed.

Otherwise, we’ll just end up recreating the problems of the present moment.

Saturday’s new moon offers us the opportunity to enter into a new lunar cycle with a greater awareness of what we need to heal. What emotions we need to pay attention to. What secrets need airing out. What energy it has taken to keep them buried.

It’s time to free up our energy.

The power that is available to us when we allow the truth to surface is unmatched by anything given by the outside world. This new moon is reminding us of the presence of that power. Our access to our own power. The importance of refusing any narrative that would keep us from that power.

It takes a tremendous courage to stand up for the truth. A tremendous determination and belief in one’s own truth to challenge abusive institutions. A tremendous heart to hold the heartbreak that resurfaces with each and every admission of pain from ourselves and our community.

*Your weekly horoscopes are written affirmation style to be used for the new moon. Please change them as you need to so that they resonate with you. Please experiment with speaking them aloud repeatedly or writing them out and placing them where you can see them for the week of the new moon. If you know both your rising sign and sun sign, please read both horoscopes. They both contain important information. You’ll know which resonates more for you. Take what works for you, leave the rest. If you want to share this work you must quote it and link it to this post and website. Thank you for your support and for spreading the work around, we really appreciate it and you!

Aries & Aries Rising

Deep wells of replenishment open up for me when I am willing to work through my intimacy issues.

Crying is simply my system resetting itself.

I remind myself of this when I have a backlog of emotions to sort through. When I find that once again I have convinced myself that staying stagnant would be easier than staying current with my therapist, self-care, or spiritual practices. When my relationships are undergoing intensive transformations, I need to put more attention on my own needs.

Feeling witnessed helps me to trust my process.

I am here for a reason. I am in this place, at this time, for a purpose. I feel what I feel because it is what needs to come to consciousness. Needless destruction too easily occurs when I refuse to reflect on my own behaviors. Reconstruction can occur when I come to a situation with a little extra emotional integration.

Saturday’s new moon is an opportunity to realign myself with what I might have otherwise pushed aside. It encourages me to cross the rivers that run deepest in me and promises me gold on the other side of the healing experiences I encounter. Treasures of affirming partnerships. Riches emphasized by recognizing the relationships that are right for me. Gifts magnified by the affirming collaborations I call in.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

How gifted is my heart. How sound its longings. How solid its rhythm. How magnificent its wisdom.

I work on opening my awareness to all my heart can teach me. I seek to witness the world through its awareness. I remember that my relationships are always teaching me about how to do this. I remember that every cold wall I run into within myself is something I need to understand more intimately. I give thanks for every human who has ever helped me to scale one. Defrost one. Bear witness to one crumbling within me.

To be loved is to be given the greatest gift. The gift of being human. Held despite the issues I’ve yet to heal. Extended dignity despite all that I have withheld from others. Granted respect no matter how many I have trespassed.

I celebrate Saturday’s new moon by acknowledging all of the gorgeous, complex, challenging, wholly transformative love that is in my life. I reset my commitment to calling in more of it and healing what stands in the way of it.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

Saturday’s new moon helps me to refresh my relationship to my work habits. What I do habitually has power. What I do repeatedly has a cumulative impact. I make the moments of my day count by considering the mundane aspects of my life portals of power to enter through.

My work will thank me for it. My resources will be made more abundant because of it. My ability to digest and make use of difficulties will be all the more impactful with it.

I use this new moon to make a list of what I need to prioritize in my work. I use this new moon to think about seeds for future projects I want to create. I use this new moon to make a conscious imprint of what I want to grow myself into. Professionally. Proactively. Productively.

There is incredible power in showing up early and over-prepared. Incredible power in making the decision to move in a certain direction. Incredible power in claiming that I am dedicated to something long before I know if it will work. I use this new moon to claim the power of my intention and direct it to the professional aspirations awakening in me.

Cancer & Cancer Rising

I take time every morning to feel the creative energy that emanates from me. Every morning I place my awareness on the creative power that is mine to make use of. Every morning I remind myself that it is up to me to choose to tune into this force.

I am in creative partnership with my days. That is my power. When I don’t feel like I am co-creating my days, I have forfeited that power and projected it onto the world around me.

I reclaim my attention to this process so that I am in full possession of my impact on my life.

I imbue all of my creations with heartfelt hope that they might be healing. Useful. Helpful for the world in someway. I imbue all of my creations with trust. Trust in the process. Trust in the ways in which it wants to reveal itself. Trust in the feelings that come up in response to it.

I remember that I might still need to learn how to trust. I remember that there may have been times where I needed help and didn’t get it. I remember that there are things I didn’t learn about trust. When I lose my faith I need to help myself find it again. I need to show that aspect of myself love. To give that aspect of myself what it needs. To be a shoulder for that part of me to cry on. To teach myself how to trust. To learn how to be trustworthy.

Consoling my upset is always worth the time it takes. It always reconnects me to my agency. It always helps me to find a way to remember the immensity of life and all its possibilities. It always brings me back into connection with the infinite beauty that is my creativity power and its many possibilities.

Leo & Leo Rising

I restore myself by connecting to the hidden sources of power available to me. The sources that are ever present within me. The sources I need to remind myself to access.

The foundations that I come from are solid. Because I am made of earth. Mineral. Bone. I anchor into the ancient knowledge I am made from. Sometimes I need to drill through what has hardened around it. My own resistance to it. Refusal of it. But nothing can stop it from existing. Nothing deters it from residing within me. Nothing diminishes its beauty, strength or abundance.

No time. No distance. No fuckery forbids me from this.

I know that I must constantly reclaim what is mine. I know that I have to constantly reframe the way I think about the issues that I am up against. I know that I have to constantly encourage myself to move towards solution. The human brain circles around problems it has no control over. So I help my mind find creative ways to strategize instead of worrying myself silly over what I cannot control. I will not obsess over fixing what will forever remain broken. I help myself purge the thoughts that keep me feeling disenfranchised and replace them with the idea that it is completely possible, and is actually plausible, that I am connected to a source of intelligence that can solve even the severest of problems. I tap into it and trust that it is making its way through my thinking.

Virgo & Virgo Rising

I take hold of the power granted to me every day. I acknowledge the importance of my rituals. The ones that help me access my agency. Setting me up for the opportunity I am presented with each time the sun rises. Kicking my ass into gear so that I remember all that I have to work with. So that I remember not to feel sorry for myself for too long. So that I remember that I have made it this far and I will not stop for fear or loathing of any situation.

I make it a point to move my imagination past the limitations of my own personality. I make room for possibility. I communicate the unstoppable, palpable, poignancy of love to myself each day. As a way to cleanse my spirit. As a way to refresh my senses. As a way to remember all the goodness that moves through me.

Love is the strongest energy available to me, so I constantly direct my awareness there.

I give thanks for the opportunity I have to heal my mind. I give thanks for the opportunity I have to tune my thoughts towards what is affirming my ability to create change. I give thanks for Saturday’s new moon as it is yet another reminder to ask myself what I need in this moment. Whatever I yearn for, whatever needs are needing me to meet them, I use this new moon to make sure I offer myself just that.

To understand how this week’s new moon will impact your sign and for rituals and meditations to guide you, join me for New Moon Manifestations: A Workshop for the New Moon in Scorpio and the Astrology of the Lunar Cycle from November 18th – December 16th.

Libra & Libra Rising

Nothing can keep me from my worth. Save my misunderstanding of it, nothing can keep me from my value. Save the fact that I am still healing the obstacles that I have to it, nothing can keep me from tapping into the power of my talents.

My goddess-given assets do not expire. They cannot be diminished. They never leave. They love me always. Await me eternally. Betray me never.

What I have access to is transformational. What I do with this power is my choice, each and every day. What I choose to believe about my worthiness and my worth determines how consciously I can direct it in my work and in the world.

The more I believe I have an impact, the more I witness it. The more I witness it, the more I believe in it. I am here for this kind of positive feedback loop. I am here for this kind of progress. I am here to experience the capacity of the gifts that I was born with and to use them to the fullest extent possible.

Scorpio & Scorpio Rising

I refuse to refuse my strength. My power. My choice in the matter. Every single decision that I make has energy behind it. Catapulting my life in one direction or another. As much as is possible, I take hold of the steering wheel. Veering myself towards my agency, making sure I remember the impact of my yes’s and my no’s. Remembering that what I choose to do each morning sets me up for the day. Remembering that what I do each evening prepares me to make better decisions come dawn.

I do not sleep on my potential.

I remind myself that each and every thing that is happening in my life is happening because it must. Because that is the order of things. Because that is what is and so I choose to accept that it is happening. So that I can choose how I will respond to it with as much of my being as possible. I choose what I will make of the events of my life. I choose what these occurrences will mean for my growth.

As the year unfolds I know that much is already opening up for me. Opportunities are already occurring for me. Much growth is already choosing me. I choose it back. I choose to respond to it with as much consideration as I can. No matter how much it is demanding me to stretch myself. Open myself. Challenge myself. I choose it. And as I do, more clarity comes as to how I can accept my life and its possibilities all the more.

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising

My messy has purpose. I’m not meant to have it all together. Chaos has its own wisdom. Its own depth. Its own reasons for being. I work intuitively with it. Knowing which aspects to pay attention to. Which static to ignore. Which phantoms to let pass by me.

Intuition is my birthright. It isn’t a special talent, it is merely a human one. One that is available for me to make use of. A power at my disposal. A confirmation of my ability to pick up on information before it’s reached the material realm.

I know that some things are ending. Some things are coming to a close. Some things are fading into the distance. I know that whatever is receding is creating the space for something else with a more resonant beginning. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have feelings about it. It doesn’t mean that I’m cold-hearted about it. It doesn’t mean that It’s easy.

But I accept it.

Because that is what I do with mess. I accept what has happened so I can have a thoughtful response to it. So that I can reach into the heart of it, connecting with any intelligence it might possess. So that I can help bring about whatever change is needed from a place of awareness and agency.

Saturday’s new moon connects me to my inner knowing. My inner magic. My ability to transform frustration into energy to use for my healing. Because difficult situations simply teach me about a new way to use my incredible powers of perception.

Capricorn & Capricorn Rising

I am connected to a vast network of intelligent, compassionate, creative co-conspirators that are always giving me incredible resources to draw from, work with and be inspired by. As capitalism crumbles and all of its abuses of power are exposed, I look to those that are beside me creating powerful work. Shaping the future. Shifting the narrative. Sourcing strength from struggle and the sweetness of affirming selfhood.

I don’t need the permission of a hierarchy to know my worth. I need only my own dedication to sourcing the intelligence within and around me. I need only to connect to the talent surrounding me. I need only to believe that we are the hope, the answer, and the way forward.

I call on my courage to take the next step in my professional life. I call on my ability to be honest about any power struggles I have encountered there. I call on my integrity to deal with them honestly and swiftly. I remember that connecting to my own sources of power and creativity always realigns me so that I can access the answers that I need.

Aquarius & Aquarius Rising

Saturday’s new moon brings professional gifts for me to open. Enjoy. Share with my team. Saturday’s new moon brings gifts that grow even greater abundance with a little dedicated attention from me. Saturday’s new moon reminds me that unless I create sturdy structures within myself, the abundance that visits me won’t end up doing much of anything.

I know abundance comes and goes.

My ability to make use of each portion of it is more important than how much of it crosses my path. My ability to work through my fears of failure and success help to determine what I do with the opportunities that arrive. My ability to move through the difficult emotions that arise as I dig deeper into my work is the marker of a successful professional situation.

I love myself enough to heal what gets in the way of my growth.

My ability to honor my work helps my work honor all those it touches. I honor the effort it takes to create something worth the attention I wish it to receive. I honor the time it takes, the cycles I need to rotate through and the seasons that must come and go in order to create something that is lasting.

Astrology of the Week

Tuesday, November 7th

Venus enters Scorpio

Thursday, November 9th

Sun in Scorpio sextile Pluto in Capricorn, both at 17°

Saturday, November 11th

Saturn in Sagittarius trine Uranus in Aries, both at 25°

It’s impossible to heal something we aren’t willing to expose. Open up about. Learn from.

It’s impossible to understand what might be needed from a situation if we are too afraid to have it revealed. Witnessed by others. Affirmed by those who have experienced it too.

It’s impossible to move forward if we aren’t prepared to address, and attempt to heal, the wounds of our past. The wounds that we keep circling around. The wounds that we are meant to reduce to just a memory for future generations to come.

This Scorpio season has been relentless in helping us the excavate abuses of power that have been normalized for too long.

Witnessing this kind of harm demands that we hold an incredible tension within us. It requires that we come to terms with the fact that we all contain the ability to do great things. Horrific and heroic. It requires that we learn how to keep coming back to our centers. Filling up on what cannot run dry.

Surviving Scorpio season’s revelations requires we get very close to the sources of sweetness that can sustain us.

For those in the Northern Hemisphere, Scorpio season is mixed with what many experience as seasonal depression. Not only is this an intense shift for the body, but so too for the emotional self. With longer nights we have more time to contemplate our lives. More stillness gives us more reason to reflect. More time to feel what we didn’t have time to sort through in the brightness of summer.

You might find that you need a lot more rest. A lot more nourishment. A lot more conscious seeking of what brings you joy.

This week Venus, the planet that brings pleasure and connection, ventures into Scorpio’s mysterious and sometimes treacherous waters. Not known for its graceful or diplomatic abilities, Venus in Scorpio struggles to experience the ease that the planet of love is famous for. Joined by Jupiter, the two together have the ability to bring about something wonderful, if a little exaggerated.

What, we might ask, is “wonderful” to Scorpio? The sting of truth? The depths explored? The alchemical transformations that turn compost into rich soil? To the tender-hearted, Scorpio’s process can be more harrowing than hopeful. But we need this medicine.

Scorpio pulls out the poisons. Reveals the wounds. Reveals the extent to which repair must be done. Reveals what we need to develop within ourselves in order to hold the whole experience.

As Saturn makes its last major move while still in Sagittarius, this week we get to reflect on the good and hard work that we have done. The last of three trines to Uranus, Saturn’s wrap up in Sagittarius is asking us to understand the extent to which we can work within the systems we have built, and the extent to which they need to be completely revised. Scorpio season will not let us skirt these issues. We may not know what it is that we need to build in order to replace the corrupt systems we are living within, be we can trust that we were born with the creative intelligence necessary to find out.

*Your weekly horoscopes are meant to be read as inspiration. If you know both your rising sign and sun sign, please read both horoscopes. They both contain important information. You’ll know which resonates more for you from week to week. Take what works for you, leave the rest. If you want to share this work you must quote it and link it to this post and website. Thank you for your support and for spreading the work around, we appreciate it!

Aries & Aries Rising

This week’s goodness comes from your ability to consciously untie your energetic investments from what is no longer asking for you. So that you can put yourself in places and spaces that want you. Yearn for your kind of fire. Celebrate your kind of style.

Venus and Jupiter want to teach you something about how good it can feel to finally give up on what was never going to be. So that you can grieve it if you need to. So you can purge it from your system. So you can realign yourself with what feels present, attentive and attuned to you.

Turn yourself towards what appreciates you. Invest your energy there.

As Saturn makes its last trine to Uranus, what becomes incredibly clear is that you can’t plan for the unexpected, but you can prepare yourself for it. By investing in your personal growth. By putting your ideas out into the world come celebration or criticism (or both). By continuing your commitment to the path you have chosen. Come clear skies or overgrowth trails.

This week as Saturn and Uranus make their last trine to one another, you’ll witness how important it has been for you to build a structure, a monument, an ode to what you believe in.

And what you are experimenting with believing in.

This transit explores how valuable it is to have ideas disrupted by emerging truths. Revelations. Insights. How important it is to stay flexible when planning for the future. How wise it is to leave room for the unexpected. It isn’t important to get to the place you set out for if something else more honest, more alluring and more aligned with you reveals itself. Commit to moving towards what is true for you.

If you need a little guidance on how to work with the next new moon in Scorpio please join me for New Moon Manifestations: A Workshop for the New Moon in Scorpio and the Astrology of the Lunar Cycle from November 18th – December 16th

Taurus & Taurus Rising

The benefit of being the one who provides so much stability for others (shoulders to cry on, heart to lean on, soul-nourishment to feast from) is that you get the opportunity to understand life from many perspectives. You get the chance to witness how every heart beats to their own drum. You get the opportunity to honor just how uniquely we all need to be cared for.

As Venus, your ruling planet, slides into Scorpio, you’re given more reason to discover what your loves need from you.

These next few weeks promise an array of experiences that teach you about what it is to be in deep union with others. These are weeks that promise to help you pull out the poisons that former heartbreaks might have infected you with. Weeks that reveal old defenses to being loved. Defenses that can now be transformed. Composted. Dealt with deftly. Learn what about your messiness is honorable. Which bad decisions bring helpful hints about your healing. Why learning how to love is never about getting it “right”.

There is no perfect love. There is only being real about your process with it.

As Saturn makes its last sextile to Uranus, consider how you have learned to reinvent your understanding of what you need when partnering with others. Whatever consciousness you have been able to cultivate in regards to sharing your resources will sustain you for many years to come. You don’t have to keep giving just because you can. Find ways to hold your energy until the right moment. When the container is solid and ready, pour yourself in.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

Over the past year your relationships have been teaching you about freedom and commitment. Room and restriction. Sacrifice and satisfaction.

What have you been willing to give up personally in order to grow collectively? Who amongst your people has been willing to work through emotional hurdles in order to experience greater intimacy with you? What partnerships have been sacred containers for your efforts, energy and experience?

By learning how to be of service to the needs of your unions (both personal and professional), you’ve also been able to align yourself with new channels of abundance.

Generosity is a gift that always gives back to those who extend it.

Keep your attention on the relationships agreements that need reinventing. Restructuring. Reorganizing. If it isn’t right for you, it can’t be right for the two of you. See what shifts need to occur in order to honor all that the partnership can create. Given the right conditions, we are all capable of shining.

This week that becomes incredibly evident. As does your part in co-creating these conditions.

The more honest you can be with your people and the projects you are working on with them, the more forthright they will be about what they need from you and what they can build with you.

If you need a little guidance on how to work with the next new moon in Scorpio please join me for New Moon Manifestations: A Workshop for the New Moon in Scorpio and the Astrology of the Lunar Cycle from November 18th – December 16th

Cancer & Cancer Rising

Take note of your intensity. Of the sheer power of your emotions. Of your ability to tap into deep feelings and make use of them. Create from them. Draw wisdom with them as guide posts. Feelings aren’t facts but they are full of insights for us to make use of. There is always an important truth within them. Feelings need to be studied in order to be honored for their complexity. Feelings can’t always be taken at face value. Feelings dismissed are chances missed to understand our process a little deeper. Feelings are not here to be logical.

They are mythical.

Treat them like a labyrinth. A journey. A discovery awaiting your arrival. This week’s astrology grants you goodness when you are able to welcome in what feels too unformed to make sense of. What seems too tender. What is awake to the subtleties of your experience. What is teeming with tremendous insight.

This depth of feeling wants to grant you access to deep wells of creative energy. Boons await you when you are willing to honor your own emotional undercurrents. Benefits come when you are willing to sink an anchor down into your own experience. Great wealth can be discovered when you allow your feelings to flow.

This week also comments on the structure that you have been able to introduce to your work life over the past 2 years. How you have been able to build something out of sheer commitment and consistency. What you have been able to invent, establish and awaken within your work. You might notice small to large shifts taking place over the next couple of weeks in your work routines. This is an important aspect of your professional growth. It might stir something within you. Some understanding of how to better hold your work projects and professional dreams. Remember to keep your mind open to the potential you unconsciously reject. Remember to encourage yourself to see beyond your fear. Remember that there is still so much that you have to discover in and through your work in the world.

Leo & Leo Rising

Anchors drop deep this week. Wells of good feelings can be accessed when you are willing to move through the more intense ones. Every time we acknowledge some part of our process we make a little more room to experience ourselves in our entirety.

Do what you can to enjoy your space.

As the beauty of your origins comes into focus, you might notice that with a little healing you are able to recall more sweetness from your past. The love that has always been present either for you or with you. The serenity that can be experienced every time you learn to love a little bit more of what you’ve come from. And through.

You might notice that healing issues with family members, housemates or those you share history with becomes a little easier. Not by evading the work that needs to be done, but from your own willingness to accept things as they are.

This week also comments on the commitments that you have been able to make to your creative life. Your unique way of self-expressing has matured. You’ve learned what is possible when you focus your energy and honor your odd way of working.

Embrace your strange.

Whatever self-doubt, self-rejection or self-sabotaging you have been able to push through, heal and work with while discovering what it is you are capable of creating, is its own reward. One that should be placed on your altar and gazed upon whenever you need a boost. This week polishes off that medal, reminding you just how far you’ve come and how extraordinary the task of becoming oneself really is.

Virgo & Virgo Rising

Histories are layered. With people, places and events. Foundations are formed over time. Over life lessons. Over life longings. Over life’s mysterious twists and turns. Home bases aren’t built in an afternoon. They take seasons to create. Holidays to celebrate. Loved ones to sanctify the ground we are building upon.

Whatever home base you’ve been able to create over the past couple of years is incredibly important. For your mind, body and soul. Whatever family inheritances you’ve been able to heal, honor or accept as yours to work with will serve as part of the floorboards of your becoming. Whatever solid ground you’ve found and claimed as your own is the place from which all things will grow.

This week wonders if there are any last revisions to make. Any renovations to take place. Any way in which you might still need to reframe yourself in your own origin stories. There is power in what we tell ourselves. There is power in the narratives that others have of us, if we let them frame ourselves for us. There is power in the ways in which we communicate our own stories. This week wants to remind you of that power. That you can reclaim it. That you can rename yourself if need be. That you can and need to review the ways in which you build from your base. To make sure it’s in line with what you hope to be able to grow your life into.

Libra & Libra Rising

You may have an overwhelming urge to spend your savings on fine wine and silk sheets this week. You may have a hard time fighting the urge to get yourself a gift. A treat to satiate a temptation. Give in to your yearnings but get clear about what is fair to trade for your passions. With both Venus and Jupiter in your second house of money, assets and property, you might feel like excess is your current aesthetic.

Try to find sustainable sweets to satisfy your cravings.

The benefics are in a particularly pretty position to help you attract more wealth into your realm and more possibilities to your work and your wares. Encourage yourself to access the magnetic and abundant power that this duo can bring by saying yes to what adds value to your life and no to what costs you too much personally.

As Saturn finishes up its transit through Sagittarius, it reminds you of the importance of being committed to doing what you can each day while still being flexible about how it gets done. This week brings about confirmation of the importance of leaving room for creative chaos. Dedication is important, but being dedicated for the right reasons is more so. The more you marry yourself to doing what needs to be done so that the right situations get a chance to take shape, the better.

Scorpio & Scorpio Rising

To be graced with the gift of both Venus and Jupiter in your sign at the same time is no small thing. It is no casual occurrence. It is no event to leave unattended.

You’ve got good reason to get ready for them. Get your love nest aglow. Get to romancing all you wish to grow.

Jupiter brings luck. Venus brings charm. Given the two are together in your sign through the rest of November, you have a sweet set up that will help you to both give and receive great prosperity. This might be a time when you feel compelled to take better care of yourself. A time when you love with greater ease. A time when you are more at peace with yourself and your roles in the world.

There is great luxury in the well-being we are able to cultivate. Luxuriate in any amount that you have access to. There is also a caution here not to overdo the indulgences that leave you too hungover to make use of this celestial magic.

This week’s Saturn/Uranus trine reveals the importance of your commitment to the development of your resources. Over the past year, what talents have you been able to make manifest through your hard work and dedication? What risks have you been willing to take in terms of how you make a living? What innovations are you making to your industry? Take your efforts to heart. Try not to take them for granted, but if you do, take a moment to ask who is benefiting from you doing so. If it is not you, rethink your strategy.

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising

This week healing comes when you allow yourself to feel what your consciousness might condemn as illogical. What comes up doesn’t have to conform to your ideas of what is appropriate for the moment. What comes up doesn’t have to fit into your life in any particular way.

But it needs to be tenderly tended to.

Old wounds, old sacrifices, and old ghosts come bearing gifts this week so try not to turn them away. They carry with them the keys to greater well-being. Alleviation of some forgotten suffering. Gratitude for what is good, right here and now. The only thing you need to do is not refuse them for fear of what you’ll need to feel. This process may also mysteriously lead to you receiving help from an unknown source, assistance from a secret admirer, praise from someone you didn’t know was rooting for you.

You are at a point in your growth cycle that confirms the efforts that you’ve made to define yourself for yourself, so any nods of approval you receive are much deserved. This week celebrates the successes that you have had in doing the hardest work possible: separating yourself from what was keeping you confined. Unable to grow into your responsibilities. Unable to mature into your own great masterpiece.

Accepting the task of becoming means letting go of all that gets in our way of it.

This week celebrates the risks that you have had to take in order to to do so. This week wants you to consider what other redefinitions are occurring in the moment. Track them. Support them. Seek out what sets you freer still. As you well know by now, its all about choosing the right the commitments and sticking to them.

Capricorn & Capricorn Rising

The past few years have been encouraging you to loosen up. Encouraging you to become less identified with what is impermanent. Encouraging you to find something more honest to identify with.

This process has asked you to take risks that involve you trying out life in completely new ways. Giving up what you were overly attached to, dependent, or fixated on. This process has been teaching you how to rely on your inner compass when the rest of your life feels under too intense of an overhaul.

This week might make you aware of how important these lessons have been for your overall growth and life direction. How through this process you have been able to  connect to a deep well of intuitive wisdom within you. A deeper understanding of what is essential and what you are capable of living without. A clearer connection with your gift of getting things done no matter the condition.

This has been a solo journey, but not the only one you are on. As this week reminds you, the boons of community are endless sources of nourishment, hope and prosperity. With both Jupiter and Venus in your 11th house of good friends and the fortune that they bring, you are entering a month-long period of social gold. Carve out time to spend in the spaces that support you, your work and your overall growth. Give generously, lovingly and freely to them and you’ll quickly experience the quality of your connections increase a million-fold.

Mercury enters Sagittarius

This is the season of the Witch.

Though magic is always in season, at this time we collectively make room for the archetypal imagery of healers, priestesses, midwives and all kinds of witches who work with earth-based wisdom traditions. Witches work with rhythms, seasons, and the power present in the living world. No matter how much patriarchal violence has been inflicted upon the people and the systems of knowledge that are connected to the term “witch” over the last few thousand years, these practices have always managed to survive.

What is life-enhancing can never be completely destroyed.

As white-supremacist, colonialist, capitalist patriarchy dies, the traditions that it has tried to obliterate experience a resurgence. An awakening. A renewal. Every culture on earth has its own systems of healing. Each one of us can dig into our lineages to better understand what kind of magic we might come from. Each one of us can call on the protective forces that we need at any time. Protective forces that look, sound, smell or feel personally resonant for us. We are free to reorganize our own cultural rituals to be more inclusive of ourselves and our communities. We are free to connect to forces that have not been previously named or recorded. We may very well need to reclaim the forces, deities and practices that have been misnamed, misrepresented, and misappropriated.

What is sacred and life-affirming for us wants a place on our altars.

This is a season that reminds us of our spiritual, political and familial ancestry. The pain. The strength. The shame. The theft. The loss. The love. The souls that we come from that could not be diminished, no matter the material reality they had to live within.

This season reminds us of those in our lineage that suffered for no good reason. Those that caused suffering, perhaps for reasons they could not escape or for reasons that they chose not to. And those that did both. We are reminded how we too, are both. We do harm. We are harmed. We try to heal, hopefully.

May this season help us learn to embrace both parts of ourselves, and both parts of our lineage. So that we might learn ways to do less harm. Day by day. Interaction by interaction. One decision at a time.

May this season remind us to call on the crew of spirits that surround us. May it remind us that we are not in this alone. That we do not do this merely for our own benefit. That our talents, hopes and dreams are also tied to those that came before us. To give thanks for what we have been given, and to give of it as freely as possible. This season reminds us that one day, not so far off, we will join the spirit realm in aid to those we leave behind.

May this season draw our awareness to that interchange. Spirit and matter. May it remind us of that inevitability. So that we might be better accomplices to this moment. So that we might be more encouraged to use the magic of love. So that we might explore the possibility of living as though this day was the most important of our lives. Connected to all life before it. And all life after it.

After all, that’s what witches do.

*Your weekly horoscopes are meant to be read as inspiration. If you know both your rising sign and sun sign, please read both horoscopes. They both contain important information. You’ll know which resonates more for you from week to week. Take what works for you, leave the rest. If you find inspiration here we love and appreciate donations. If you want to share this work you must quote it and link it to this post and website. Thank you for your support and for spreading the work around, we really appreciate it and you!

Aries & Aries Rising

Friday’s full moon stretches out across your chart highlighting the delicate balance between what you have and what you need. Between what you have gathered, cultivated and grown and what you might swap, trade or barter for. Between the need to slowly cultivate your mark on the material world and the understanding that one day you will be leaving it all behind.

Friday’s full moon finds you wondering how to honor what you have inherited and what you are wishing to give to others upon your eventual exit.

What did your ancestors need but could not get to? What healing evaded them but is available to you? What do you know you need to make peace with in your lifetime so that their struggles, their mistakes, their misfortunes, need not have been in vain? Without meaning?

Let the answers to these questions inform the next phase of your work. Invest in what has the most meaning for you. What is the most healing for you. What is the most sustainable way forward for you. Let the answers to these questions inform the ways in which you deal with current conflicts in your relationships. How you hold another’s point of view. How you witness it all in context. How you can hold current struggles in a larger, more complex framework. Let the answers to these questions help to inform the plans that you are currently making. Hold everything that is sacred to you as your guidepost for the coming months. Aim high. Think deeply. Love as wide as you can.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

The full moon highlights your nature. Your rhythm. Your gifts for getting low to the ground and tracking the energy of the earth. Taurus teaches that nothing in the living world can rush its own growth.

You can try all the live-long day, but you will never push a bull into any business it hasn’t already agreed to. And even then, it will do it at its own pace.

This magic that you possess can be incredibly useful when applied to your healing, growth and development. Nothing that is long-lasting is done in an instant. Remember not to get impatient when it comes to your becoming. Give yourself time to get there. Give yourself no reason to want to escape the lessons that will deepen your relationship to your life. Give yourself every reason to appreciate your own tempo so that you can make better use of it. And let others in on your magical ways as well.

Friday’s full moon confirms your need for deep, and sometimes confrontational, intimate exchanges.

As you’ll discover more and more over the next year, you need relationships that help to pull out the parts of you that lie just below your calm exterior. Relationships that help you to connect with and express your passion. Relationships that encourage you to break the spells that keep you from bonding deeply, honestly and respectfully.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

Friday’s full moon highlights the importance of both your work and your weariness. The consistent efforts you are making and your need to replenish your reserves. The messages your  body is trying to get across to you and the subtle ways in which you might undermine yourself by taking on a little too much.

Friday’s full moon is asking you to make a little time for yourself. Luxuriate in the in-between moments. Expand your downtime by taking it up on the offer. Feel the pleasure of giving up trying to get anything for a moment.

Witches need space. For inspiration. For gathering ingredients. For studying spells.

Magic needs us to respect its process. So we don’t get in its way. So we don’t impose our misunderstanding onto what we are co-creating. So we don’t get lost in the demands of the outside world.

Healing requires darkness. Regeneration happens when we are able to get into the natural ebbs and flows of our physical selves. Refueling occurs when we can let go of our achieving agendas for a moment in time.

This week, mysterious benefits befall you when you are willing to release. Be still. Trust. Let things come to a natural end. And a natural rebirth.

Cancer & Cancer Rising

We don’t get to choose our family. We don’t get to change the way that those we are related to, relate to us. We don’t get to go back in time and make up for what we missed out on.

But we can work from where we are at.

We can apply our lived experience to our relationships, knowing that we are now better able to understand the nuances of the situation. Better able to understand the complexities of our complexes. Better able to understand how much tenderness we need to give ourselves and others in order to heal a situation. A sore spot. A wound.

This week’s astrology is connected to a longer-lasting and slowly unfolding astrological theme that has been woven through your last few weeks. Old issues. Feelings from long ago. Fantasies and phantoms from your past emerging. To be known. Understood. Worked with.

What magic have you inherited that helps you? Which spells were cast that have kept your family line bound to a reality that you can now work on healing? Break the curses cast upon you and your clan.

This Thursday’s full moon connects the historically hard aspects of your familial relationships with the present issues that are coming up in your community. Whatever it is you are hoping to solve, remember that it is impossible to understand an issue all at once.

Allow yourself the luxury of unpacking one feeling at a time.

The full moon is here to remind you that the less you rush through situations with others, the more you’ll understand about them and heal through them.

Leo & Leo Rising

As the full moon builds momentum throughout the week, it reminds you of the influence that you have over your career. It reminds you to break the spells that keep you from moving towards what you need. Deserve. Desire. It reminds you that everything you are moving through out in the world, you are also moving through deep within yourself.

As above, so below.

What stopped you from going for what you wanted as a young child probably has some resonance with what stops you now. In the past, you may have had to make some agreement about playing small. Safe. Situated inside of lines drawn for you. As Friday’s full moon peaks, you will be reminded of all the places you have outgrown. All the places that you have been able to reclaim as your own. All the places that you have worked hard to inhabit as honestly as possible.

Magic is about movement. It’s about harnessing the energy of the natural world with a powerful, emotionally resonant intention. So that channels become open to us. So that life can flow towards us. So that our efforts can more easily move towards all we wish to join forces with.

Get clear on the directions you want your work to move in so that your magic is a powerful potion able to get things in motion.

Virgo & Virgo Rising

Friday’s full moon brings to fruition a long-term plan, goal or vision that you have been carrying with you. Working at. Making room for. The full moon helps you to remember that dreams can and do come true.

Look for the little advances. Affirm even the shortest distances covered. Acknowledge the large, obvious and apparent accomplishments.

Sometimes our yearning to achieve something is so strong that we forget to give thanks for it when it arrives. We become more attached to the hunger for it than the pleasure that it provides in and of itself.

Try not to rush past your present. Let yourself learn how to find more joy here and now. Help yourself feel the spaciousness of your days. Help yourself understand your life from a broader perspective. From a greater awareness of the entirety of it.

Give yourself a little more room. To grow. To learn. To appreciate the serendipitous connections that your daily life is now filled to the brim with. Witches are always reading the clues laid out for them by the powers that be. While your awareness of this aspect of your life comes more alive right now, make note of it. Mark down the moments. Make sure that your intuition knows that you are paying attention to it and are ready to take it seriously. The more you do, the more it becomes a remarkably practical tool to rely on.

Libra & Libra Rising

What you break from defines you as much as what you merge with. Maybe more so. Every choice you’ve been asked to make recently seems to be one of intensifying importance.

This week is no different.

Keep clarifying your intentions by backing them up with solid actions. Step away from what doesn’t support your ability to do good in the world. The more you separate yourself from the chaos that others create, the more quietly you can make your way towards what supports you.

We don’t need to be loud to be proud.

Friday’s full moon reveals the slow-to-grow, silent but steady collaborations that you have been cultivating over the past 6 months. The partnerships in your life that have a long shelf-life will be all the more prominent over the next week. Revealing their well-earned wisdom. Revealing their ability to move with you through difficulty. Revealing their capacity to teach you about what you have to give and what it is you need to accept.

Take the good that others are offering you.

Magic can’t be made without ingredients from other sources. Be those sources human, animal, plant or energetic, Friday’s full moon is asking you to call in the favors that others have made to you. Mix your supplies with those in your coven that you covet. Open to the gifts of time, energy and love that they have to give you and allow yourself both the support and the permission to accept them.

Scorpio & Scorpio Rising

Friday’s full moon illuminates your most important relationships. Those that you have chosen to build with. Those that you have decided to dedicate your time, energy and care to. Those that are solid sources of strength to draw upon. And give back to.

Friday’s full moon points out the partnerships that work. For you. With you. Alongside your bigger goals. Witches need other magic makers to lean on. To laugh with. To concoct potions for.

Closeness is its own magic. Care is the greatest spell to cast. Mutual growth is the sturdiest kind of cauldron to pour ourselves into. Make sure that you are giving your affections to the most sincere seekers of your attention. Those that know how to hold both the sorrow and the sweetness. The challenges and the celebrations. Your cute moments and your most distorted.

Your charms are potent right now. Your ability to attract new opportunities is only increased by the extra confidence that you are being granted through Jupiter’s transit through Scorpio. Friday’s full moon wants to help you make sure that those you are taking with you on these new journeys are also able and willing to take you on theirs. Being a force of formidable strength for others is only as good as allowing folks to be the same for you when you need it.

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising

Friday’s full moon reveals the power of your professional habits. The sturdiness of your work. The accomplishments that you have made happen with effort and consistency.

The lead that you have been able to turn into gold.

None of us can cheat our way through true transformation. That kind of magic only takes place in cauldrons built from honesty and deciding to get something done, come what may.

Friday’s full moon would like you to witness the value of what you’ve put in motion. It would like you to appreciate your work as something apart from yourself. Once we manifest, our creation is its own being.

What does it want to give you? What can you open to and receive from it? What shelter? What respite? What nourishment?

Take a moment to appreciate what your work has become.

With so much emphasis still on the hidden aspects of your life, things might feel a little less celebratory than usual. Remember to take good care of your behind the scenes needs. With so much work demanding to be accomplished, remember to take time for yourself, guilt-free. With so much effort required of you, remember to balance out your system with some well-deserved down time.

Capricorn & Capricorn Rising

Friday’s full moon reminds you how much sustenance can come from the creative process. How well fed you can feel when you allow your self-expression to take center stage. How important it is to play. To enjoy. To make use of any free time that appears on your calendar.

Friday’s full moon is bursting at the seams with magical properties for you to pour into your cauldrons of creativity. Its light reveals the steady efforts that you have been making to bring about your creative projects. Whether or not anyone else gets it. Appreciates it. Resonates with it. This isn’t about being understood. It’s about understanding what you need to express, allowing yourself time to do so, and accepting what comes as a result.

All things born of sincerity have their own inherent powers.

Your colleagues, peers and professional partners benefit from your ability to deepen your relationship to this aspect of yourself and your life. You are most likely teaching others through your actions what it means to be honest in public. A work in process. A person pacing themselves through insecurities, growth edges and expectations in real time.

Your professional roles are more than just what you do for a day job. Your professional roles are also your spiritual ones. As witches well know, nothing in life is separate. All matter is connected. Just as all manner of your being affects all aspects of your life. Give yourself space to explore what wants to emerge out of your creative process so that you might come to understand how to fold it into your professional one.

Aquarius & Aquarius Rising

While you are being encouraged and rewarded for aiming high professionally, Friday’s full moon reminds you to take a moment and root down personally. The full moon reminds you of your familial foundations. The shoulders that you stand upon. The lives you have to thank for giving you yours.

The need to honor and also build upon what you come from is strong.

Friday’s full moon has you craving a weekend at home, time spent alone, or the opportunity to hang with family. It highlights the efforts that you have made to build a firm base. The strides that you have taken to help yourself feel more at home. The things that you have learned to give yourself when you feel unsafe.

No morsel of nourishment will ever go unnoticed by your soul.

Use this week to grant yourself access to deeply restorative practices if you need them. Give yourself a moment to reflect on what makes your work so personally meaningful. Take some time to connect to the root causes of your motivation to do all that you do in the world. Because there is much for you to do, try and take on in the coming months. Friday’s full moon is a mere pause in that process. A little rest stop on your journey. A refueling for the bigger bouts of energy that you’ll be required to give.

Pisces & Pisces Rising

When we know how to read signs, life feels less lonely. Less foreboding. Less senseless. Even when difficult things take shape, we can parse out the impact of them. Respond to the lessons that they are providing. Grow from the thorny beauty that they provide us.

Friday’s full moon asks you to witness your life as a message. A dream. A set of symbols to decipher. Friday’s full moon reminds you of your ability to influence the situation, circumstance and situations that you find yourself in. Through understanding what the moment wants from you. Needs from you. Is trying to communicate to you.

Your life is always calling you, awaiting your response.

We can only address a problem, paradigm or predicament moment by moment. Friday’s full moon reminds you to break big dreams, aspirations and goals down into small actions, activities and intentions.

We can cast spells all day but without our efforts, that kind of magic won’t make much of an impact. Use the week to keep your agenda on track, staying close to what matters most to you. To what intrigues you. To what keeps your appetite for learning yearning for more.
