We’re officially in Gemini Season, which lasts from May 21 through June 21 and always brings with it a breath of fresh air. The Twins are an air sign, known for their ability to trade information, inspiration, and capture content like no other. Gemini Season is our invitation to air ourselves out, meet new people, exchange ideas, and get clear on our message.

The first three weeks of Gemini Season’s skies are astrologically breezy and abundant in cosmic help. But the last week of the season…not so much. Mid to late June, the skies are filled with challenging astrological setups that will call on our determination and best self-care strategies. Knowing this ahead of time can make all the difference. So you may want to use the last part of May and the first two weeks of June to get projects going and good work done.

Meanwhile, the new moon in Gemini on June 3rd will remind us that our words have incredible power. This new moon is an invitation to get clear on our messaging and align our actions with them. And the full moon in Sagittarius on June 17th is a beautiful one that will highlight our growth and give us many an insight into the abundant power of generosity. It will, however, be flanked by some of the more challenging astrology of the season. Illuminating power struggles, the full moon will ask us to rise above the ego dramas that dominate our timelines and human lives far too frequently.

Thank you for your support and for spreading the work around, we really appreciate it and you!

May 4th

New Moon at 14° of Taurus at 3:46 PM PT

Growth requires that we risk what keeps us comfortable but ultimately stifled. Growth requires that we learn how to handle exposure to our own uncertainty. Growth requires that we become tolerant of the kind of discomfort that is necessary for our ultimate blossoming.

Growth requires our patience. Quantum leaps aren’t made in an instant. It may look like it from the outside, but the inner world knows otherwise. It’s only privately and painstakingly that we uncover, layer by layer, our gifts and how to use them.

The new moon in Taurus arrives on May 4that 3:46 PM PT. Taurus is a sign famous for its love of comfort, beauty, and stability. It’s a sign that knows how to appreciate sensual pleasures, sharing them with whomever is smart enough to slow down to join.

However.

The part of our chart that contains Taurus is going through tremendous change at the moment due to Uranus’s transit through its pastures. This new moon is co-present with Uranus, the planet of innovation, creative chaos, and change. For the first time in over 80 years, the new moon is conjunct Uranus in Taurus and its groundbreaking impact asks us to follow suit in the most thoughtful of ways.

Change in vain is just shifting what doesn’t work from one place to another. Change in vain means we still have to deal with what didn’t work, just later or under a different light. In order to actually reinvent a part of our lives, we have to allow the required shift to roll through our entire being. Changing one thing in earnest changes all other aspects of self.

Over the next few weeks, the area of our chart that contains Taurus will be outlining the breakthroughs that Uranus is asking us to take part in. This astrology is part of a larger pattern that will unfold over the next 7 years so what we are beginning now has the power to disrupt, excite, and innovate for years to come.

This new moon is sextile Neptune, infusing it with a dreamy vision and an imaginative flare, and trine Saturn and Pluto, granting us the ability to build with greater ease and determination than usual.

Taurus Season reminds us that we need to be in it for the long-haul if we ever expect to see results. Begin building now what you wish to work on for years to come.

May 5th

Mars in Gemini opposes Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius at 23°

She’s hungry today.

As Mars comes in direct line with Jupiter, The Magnanimous Magnifier, the desire to win is amped. The Warrior is always ready to pursue its desires, but egged on by Jupiter, Mars sets its sights on bigger prizes. Today we may feel invincible, so it’s good to remember that winning many things isn’t as good at conquering the one or two that are true to our heart.

May 6th

Mercury enters Taurus

Not your regular roam through Taurus, the Messenger will soon saunter straight into Uranus, awakening all kinds of communication channels. The slow and steady style of Taurus is unchangeable, but the planets that transit through the early degrees of the sign get connected to many an out-of-the-blue opportunity. Be on the lookout for messages that disturb your everyday in the best of ways.

May 7th

Venus in Aries square Saturn Rx in Capricorn at 20°

A little tenderness goes a long way today.  Many will feel this transit as a hard no where there should be an inviting yes. Boundary issues in relationships become a big deal under these influences. Little transgressions feel like a major invasion. Minor rejections can feel like the end of the world. Try not to take things that aren’t about you to heart. Try to articulate your needs to yourself first. As long as you know them, you’ll be able to state them with clarity. Whether or not anyone else chooses to hear you isn’t on you.

May 8th

Mercury conjunct Uranus in Taurus at 3°

Today’s astrology brings with it unexpected news, innovative ideas, and the kind of conversations that have inner light-bulbs blazing. Some ideas are hairbrained but entertaining while others are quality content and yours for the making. The trick, as always, is to know the difference.

Sun in Taurus sextile Neptune in Pisces at 18°

The sun and Neptune in sextile with one another help us envision and imagine what has yet to come into being. Mixed with Mercury’s conjunction with Uranus, today’s astrology brings all kinds of magical mishaps.

May 9th

Venus in Aries trine Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius at 23°

Venus in Aries square Pluto Rx in Capricorn at 23°

At virtually the same time, Venus is blessed and possessed.

Showered with abundant gifts from Jupiter, Venus opens up pathways of opportunity for us through our relationships, connections, and ability to help others feel at ease. Shown the door by Pluto, Venus is dropped into the underworld of relationship dynamics and all that they uncover, recover, and have us running for cover from. This mixed blessing is better than a straight up shot as it helps us take our medicine with a little more grace than usual. Pay attention to the deep, and generally unconscious behaviors that relationship dynamics reveal today. They’ll most likely uncover something that’s more of a gem than the horror it first appears as. This is the hardest corner for Venus to turn this month and as it does (if it’s impacted us) we’ll most likely feel a rebirth after today.

May 11th

Sun in Taurus trine Saturn Rx in Capricorn, both at 20°

Over the next couple of days, the sun gets to ease into its work while making excellent progress. In Taurus, planets pursue pleasure. This week they do so while also getting the job done, begging the question, can we do both and what would that look like? Labor is our life in action, spending it doing work in ways that feed our soul is an incredible privilege. If you have it, find some joy for what you do and how you do it.

May 13th

Sun in Taurus trine Pluto Rx in Capricorn at 23°

The deeper the connection we have with what we are building, the more attractive it becomes to others. Today’s astrology has the ability to draw the resources we need to us, so go to great lengths when you are working behind the scenes, it all adds to the glow you’ve got going.

May 14th

Venus in Aries sextile Mars in Gemini at 29°

It’s been a little turbulent on the relationship front, but as Venus exits one of the signs, she has the hardest time in, she gets a boost from her current ruler. Today’s astrology encourages us to do, say, or move towards what we desire.

May 15th

Venus enters Taurus

One of the sweetest signs for Venus to be in, the Goddess is especially abundant in her blessings during this transit. Venus in Taurus gives aid to everything moving through this sign, and therefore helps us to build innovatively, generatively, and with great style. This is the time to focus on what in your life is ready to work with you. Extra fertile now, the house in your chart that contains Taurus is awaiting your attention. Don’t ignore what wants to love you.

Mercury in Taurus sextile Neptune in Pisces at 18°

Today, sweet sentiments are exchanged between the Messenger and the Dreamer. Take advantage of this aspect by writing and reading poetry, fantasy, and science fiction that remind you that this world isn’t the only one we can create. Take advantage of this astrology by spending time imagining what it might be to heal, relax, and let go of a little stress even if just for a moment.

Mars enters Cancer

One of the most challenging signs for Mars to be in, the beginning of this transit will be much easier than the end of it. For now, Mars in Cancer helps to warm the waters of, and encourage activity in, the house in our chart that contains Cancer.

May 16th

Mercury in Taurus trine Saturn Rx in Capricorn at 20°

Today and tomorrow, Mercury curates the kinds of conversations that help us solidify details, make deals, and get the finer points firmed up. It’s an orgy of organization. Write your lists and check off your accomplishments. The satisfaction will be considerate.

May 17th

Mercury in Taurus trine Pluto Rx in Capricorn at 23°

Today wraps up Mercury’s little bump and grind with Saturn and Pluto. A wealth of information is available to those who dig for it, follow its leads, and inquire in respectful ways about it. This kind of astrology helps us have conversations that make an impact. Get your most important messages to those who’s ear you most wish to bend.

Aries & Aries Rising

I disrupt any thought that tells me I am not worthy. I interrupt any message that tries to cut back new and promising growth. I cut ties with the lies that would have me wither rather than bloom.

I use my resources for my liberation. I reinvest whatever I have access to into my long-term health. My wealth is my creativity. My wealth is my ability to care. My wealth is found in my connection to life in all its forms. With this new moon I recommit to paying attention to these abundant accounts. With this new moon I enrich all my projects with my care for them. With this new moon I infuse all of my investments with my steadfast attention. The more I understand what gives me a solid rate of return, the more of my energy I can devote in the direction of my development.

Over the next couple of weeks, I will see how I can be instrumental in the recreation of my resources. I know that I was given the assets I need. I know my talent is bountiful. I know that given the right conditions it flourishes, so to the best of my ability I commit to creating a place for it to feel at home.

If you want more sign-specific information on how to build with this new moon and lunar cycle, I’ve got a reading, ritual, and guided meditation for you in A Workshop for the New Moon in Taurus, Full Moon in Scorpio and the Lunar Cycle from May 4th– June 2nd.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

I disrupt myself when necessary. When clinging to fears, resentments, or the need to please, I willingly turn my back on less than helpful beliefs. I choose to ground myself in the blessings of my life. I choose to turn down the volume of my inner saboteur by blasting better beats. Rhythms of work well done, medication taken, naps enjoyed, a good moment with a friend, animal, or in nature drown out the inner and outer naysayers. Every time I change the station it strengthens my systems of inner attunement.

I disrupt doing any injustice to myself when possible.

I know that discounting my gifts sends them away. I know that discrediting my talent hurts its feelings. I know that putting down my passions pisses them off. I do my best to respect my drive and what it wants to do. I do my best to facilitate getting it into its lane. Like a prayer, I do my best to put love on what is beautiful in my life. Everyday. I don’t rely on the work of last year, last week, or yesterday. I know that every morning I’ve got to begin again with as much joy as I can recall, with as much humor as I can muster, and with as much gratitude for all the sides of me that I can gather. Wherever I am, whatever I am doing, I promise to be a more loving, considerate, and caring partner to myself.

If you want more sign-specific information on how to build with this new moon and lunar cycle, I’ve got a reading, ritual, and guided meditation for you in A Workshop for the New Moon in Taurus, Full Moon in Scorpio and the Lunar Cycle from May 4th– June 2nd.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

Feeling sorry for myself is ok as long as it’s brief. It’s not a long-term answer to life. I remind myself that feelings of worthlessness have no logic to back them up. Feelings of self-pity are only trying to convince me to keep my view of the world small. They tell me I’m on my own. That no one is around to help. That no one really cares.

These messages are a lie.

Self-pity spins all kinds of horror stories and it’s my job to check the plot lines. Generally twisted, these tales are too far-reaching to be true. I am not alone. I am worthy of love and care. I am here for a reason. I refuse to be a partner to the kind of crime against myself that would have me feeling unworthy.

With this new moon I recommit to caring for my inner life. Nurturing my inner world. Cultivating the richness that lies within. I am blessed when reaping the fruits of my inner labor. I remind myself not to focus solely on the messages of the outer world. I remind myself to touch base with my interior experience. I know that the signs, signals, and feelings that ring true to my intuitive self are always my best guide, but I have little access to them when I don’t take the time to check in. If there is one thing for me to disrupt with this new moon, it’s my addiction to feedback from the outside world. Right now, I’m learning to attune myself to myself, so that I’m a better lover, friend, and ally to all.

If you want more sign-specific information on how to build with this new moon and lunar cycle, I’ve got a reading, ritual, and guided meditation for you in A Workshop for the New Moon in Taurus, Full Moon in Scorpio and the Lunar Cycle from May 4th– June 2nd.

Cancer & Cancer Rising

The team I surround myself with is a dream. No nightmares allowed in this circle. I save space for innovators, brave hearts, builders with pride in their craft, and those who want to work alongside the best in the business. Creativity proliferates in supportive environments, so I save mine for the spaces that believe in the work that gets our collective motors running.

My success is only as good as it can be our success.

Those that are in it for only themselves are exposed under these skies, and once I see that this is so, it’s in my best interest to divest my energy from the situation. Vulnerability is a strength shared only by those brave enough to want something for the collective good. When I care for more than just my own success, I have a direct connection to the greatest source of abundance. I partner with those that do too. I connect with those that want us all to come up by connecting in to our collective health.

When I risk caring about others, I am more in-touch with my strength, even if life has taught me otherwise. I know to stay shut down is to stay too small to turn the lead of life into something lighter to lift up. Besides, rejection isn’t actually scary when I’m on my own side. None save for myself can ever disrupt my relationship to me, so no matter who does or doesn’t care, I always have my back.

If you want more sign-specific information on how to build with this new moon and lunar cycle, I’ve got a reading, ritual, and guided meditation for you in A Workshop for the New Moon in Taurus, Full Moon in Scorpio and the Lunar Cycle from May 4th– June 2nd.

Leo & Leo Rising

I’m here to make a scene. Paint a picture. Disrupt what is downright ridiculous and archaic in this day and age. Those that came before me fought too hard to see me squander any opportunity I have to remake what is out of date.

I give my all to the projects I know have great potential. I give myself room to make mistakes in public. I know that paying attention to the quality of my presence is more powerful than trying to be perfect. I want people to feel my heart in all I do, whether or not they are impressed with what I got right is none of my business. I know that practice is essential. Preparedness is priceless. But without witnessing the moment, they’ll most likely fly by without me actually enjoying them. Each opportunity that I get to show the world what I’ve got is only going to come once. I want to enjoy it. There will be pressure, but I can learn to roll with that too. There will be chaos, but every creative moment is a full-on mess. There will be moments of epic doubt, but those are usually a good sign. What monument was ever built without a little reconstruction?

If you want more sign-specific information on how to build with this new moon and lunar cycle, I’ve got a reading, ritual, and guided meditation for you in A Workshop for the New Moon in Taurus, Full Moon in Scorpio and the Lunar Cycle from May 4th– June 2nd.

Virgo & Virgo Rising

With this new moon I commit to going my own way. Fully. For my health and well-being. For the greater good of all involved, I dedicate myself to the path that is in-front of me. Unwilling to resist it, doubt it, or belittle it, I know that I am perfectly placed.

The future is unknown, so the only thing I can do is to trust my intuition. Where I go from here needs only to feel like the next right move. Not the only move. I remember that there are many small advancements and setbacks to living a life. When I add all those up, a whole journey happens. Where I’m meant to go unfolds slowly over time, with quick advancements here and there.

Trusting the process isn’t always easy and it’s not necessarily natural, but like with all new things, practicing it makes perfect sense. With this new moon, I commit to taking the risks I know are mine to take. Taking the pathways that are begging me to give them a go. Taking a chance on the dreams that refuse to release me. Taking all I want to learn, teach, publish, and put out into the world seriously.

With this new moon I commit to creating the kind of groundbreaking work that is worthy of the long journey it will take me on, and all it requires me to open up to along the way.

If you want more sign-specific information on how to build with this new moon and lunar cycle, I’ve got a reading, ritual, and guided meditation for you in A Workshop for the New Moon in Taurus, Full Moon in Scorpio and the Lunar Cycle from May 4th– June 2nd.

Libra & Libra Rising

Whatever I feel, whenever I feel it, however it reveals itself to me, it is welcome. My feelings are welcome to express themselves, make themselves known, and make their way to my conscious awareness any time they need to. I am not afraid of what I might feel, but I am terrified of becoming complacent to any side effect of life that I’ve survived. I might need to numb out as a coping strategy, but eventually I’ll have to thaw. Cry. Sweat. Struggle my way out of the self-protective haze. I am growing my capacity to hold space for my feelings. I am growing my awareness of my emotional needs. I am reinventing my relationship to my mental health. Whatever encourages it, without condemning it, is the kind of cure I can take consistently.

Little by little, the healing I do adds up.

I’m not here to solve anything “wrong” with me, but I am committed to compassionately bearing witness to my journey through it all. I am here to disrupt any false story about my ability to co-create a life of depth and meaning. I am here to interrupt any unconscious collaboration I’ve been in with self-doubt. I am here to fully engage with my potential which means taking some time to care for my needs, no matter what else my life asks of me. I serve my wellness with great appreciation for the rewards the rest of my life receives.

If you want more sign-specific information on how to build with this new moon and lunar cycle, I’ve got a reading, ritual, and guided meditation for you in A Workshop for the New Moon in Taurus, Full Moon in Scorpio and the Lunar Cycle from May 4th– June 2nd.

Scorpio & Scorpio Rising

Love tells the truth. Every time. It never forgets the small acts of kindness exchanged. The time spent in consideration of its needs. The depth of attention paid it. The love in my life needs constant affirmation, consideration, and words of appreciation. No power so great should go neglected. Every avenue of affection reminds me how close I am to getting back to the many sources of sweetness in my life.

The connection in my life brings clarity. It doesn’t distort me like other things do. It never refuses me like I worry other people will. I have often forgotten how to get back to it, but each time I commit to discovering more routes to it, they reveal themselves. I need other people to help me access these spaces, but I don’t need other people to be any specific way in order to do so. I work on radically accepting myself and others as we are. I work on telling myself the truth about those that I am in partnership with. I know that when honest, love grows stronger but, when not, it loses steam almost instantaneously. In the end, I want to be like love; joyfully telling the truth no matter who I’m with, where I go, or who is there when I arrive.

If you want more sign-specific information on how to build with this new moon and lunar cycle, I’ve got a reading, ritual, and guided meditation for you in A Workshop for the New Moon in Taurus, Full Moon in Scorpio and the Lunar Cycle from May 4th– June 2nd.

Your horoscopes for May 2019 are published with a companion Cosmic Playlist that I curate in collaboration with Spotify. May is home to a New Moon in Taurus and Full Moon in Scorpio.

If you know both your rising sign and sun sign, please read both horoscopes. They both contain important information. Take what works for you, leave the rest. If you want to share this work, you must quote it and link it to this post and website. Thank you for your support and for spreading the work. We really appreciate it and you!

Aries & Aries Rising

Aries, May reworks your ideas of abundance.

May wants you to rework your relationship to money so that you might begin to embody a more liberated kind of bounty. Whatever misconceptions you’ve been given about wealth need to be interrupted. Interrogated. Dismissed if they devalue your inherent worth.

This month may see you change jobs or the way you do business, but the most important thing to practice is self-investment. No matter what changes externally, internally you are always worth the effort, the money, and the time it takes to evolve.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

Taurus, May wants you to break-up with your self-doubt; it’s boring. It’s a lie. It’s something that you can decide, repeatedly, not to give energy to. Keeping your commitment to it will make life that much more cumbersome.

Self-doubt is a pattern that keeps you from your potential, but it’s also one you can break. Give up. Sacrifice daily. The planets are aligning in ways that uphold your personal freedom, not at the cost of being a decent human, but in ways that help you to express yourself honestly. Getting honest about what keeps you in place gets your whole life going.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

Gemini, free the ghosts in your closet this May. There are years that let you know that enough is enough, 2019 is one of them. To be held hostage by our fears and doubts does us no good, and something deep within you is awakening to this truth.

May isn’t the beginning of this understanding, but it’s a definitive exclamation point on it. Refuse to keep ghosts in the closet or secrets between your teeth so that you can reclaim the life energy that you had to use to do so. As a precursor to Gemini Season, do a thorough investigation of all you refuse to carry into the next year with you.

Cancer & Cancer Rising

Cancer, May wants you to party with a purpose. May reminds you that you aren’t better or worse than anyone else. Seeing yourself as an equal, not always in skill, but certainly in humanity, sets your potential free. Feeling inferior to others is along the same spectrum as feeling superior to them, neither is true or helpful and both has you off balance.

Starting where you are while knowing that you have the right to learn, grow, and give of what you’ve got, will help you to find the communities, partnerships, and allies that you best align with. Doing so will set you on paths of mutual blazeability.

Leo & Leo Rising

Leo, May sees you making big career moves. May wants you to refrain from setting limitations on your professional trajectory. None of us have any idea of our impact in the world, but yours is particularly startling at the moment.

Don’t be surprised if everyone is coming to you for your input. You have a livewire of creative energy running through your professional life and the more you can direct its unconventional and incredibly astute wisdom towards the projects you feel most passionate about, the more noise can be made for them. Some discord is necessary but make sure to end your sessions a harmony.

Virgo & Virgo Rising

Virgo, May says, “You can go your own way.”

May’s skies see you seeking out new destinations. If your horizons have recently shifted, know that it is par for the course. You aren’t supposed to stay the same and as you change so does your destination and therefore your route.

This might feel like you are stepping into the unknown, but every day we all do, it’s just that right now the unpredictability of your situation is pronounced. Use it to your advantage. What can you risk? What can you suspend your disbelief about? What are you free to try that formerly felt too scary to consider?

Libra & Libra Rising

Libra, this May, build with those that know beauty.

May wants you to find the right fit. If it’s too tight, too roomy, or too precious to hold your potency, move on. There’s so much to be gained from the collaborations that can identify and celebrate your je ne sais quoi. You’re being encouraged to work with those that know how to innovate what’s gone stale, switch up what is in need of relief, and work towards your collective, creative freedom.

Whatever emotions come up as a result are part of this cosmic cleaning. The point is to let feelings roll through you, not dictate what you are or are not capable of making happen.

Scorpio & Scorpio Rising

Scorpio, Soulmates stimulate great growth. The people that get the greatest reaction from you have been put on your path for a reason. It doesn’t mean that you need to stay in their vicinity for long, but it does mean that for this brief moment, the revelations that you receive through them are worth of every bit of energy that they demand.

Whether these matches feel soulfully sweet or seriously ill-fitting, show up for all the ways in which they teach you how to be a better partner to yourself. May is the continuation of a recent overhaul to all your relationships. What you need from others is evolving.

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising

Sagittarius, this May, your work changes for the better.

What you bring to the table might not be recognizable to everyone’s palate, but don’t let other people’s tastes get in the way of what you are serving up. Your ability to bring new, and very necessary, innovations into your work life, institutions, and profession, in general, will make a lasting mark.

Make sure it’s the one you know will make the most important impact. Don’t shy away from what you really want to bring into form. Birthing anything requires that the container we do it through be shattered in some way. Don’t worry, it’s just a breakthrough. -Chani Nicholas

Capricorn & Capricorn Rising

Capricorn, this May, color outside the lines.

It’s not worth the energy to try and replicate what others have created at the expense of what you want to. You aren’t them and they don’t have what you’ve got in excess. The magic lies within your ability to reinvent the wheels that don’t turn for you. If it isn’t moving, flip it, switch it out, or subtract it all together.

You are being asked to create what can only come through you. Generic won’t cut it at the moment. Generosity is necessary when we need to take risks. Focus on what you can give, not what you need to do to please others.

Aquarius & Aquarius Rising

Aquarius, this May, it’s impossible to know how to change, or what to change, if we don’t allow the truth to change us. What May makes clear is that you’ve always known the reality of your past, of your history, and of your relationship to your roots, but now it’s impossible to ignore it.

What you yearn for, what you crave to create for yourself, and what you know you need to build structurally for your future, comes into sharp focus. Let the details teach you what to pay attention to and what to stop obsessing over. Let your heart be a little lighter with each truth you tell on yourself.

Pisces & Pisces Rising

Pisces: Say what you mean and mean what you say.

May wants you to get clear in your communications. Sending mixed messages isn’t malicious, but it can be lazy. Stating your needs without hesitation is necessary, but not necessarily your strong suit. Challenge yourself to push past your fears of upsetting others, people pleasing is a plague you need to recover from.

You aren’t responsible for other people’s feelings, but you are responsible for making sure you aren’t keeping them in the dark about your own. The more honest you are the more honest joy you’ll experience.

Here are horoscopes for the weeks of April 19-May 3, beginning with the full moon in Libra. Your horoscopes are meant to be read as inspiration. If you know both your rising sign and sun sign, please read both horoscopes. They both contain important information. You’ll know which resonates more for you from week to week. Take what works for you, leave the rest. If you want to share this work you must quote it and link it to this post and website. Thank you for your support and for spreading the work, we really appreciate it and you!

And, NOW 50% OFF: In this month’s lunar workshop, I’ve got a reading, ritual and guided meditation for your sign for the full moon in Libra.

April 19th

4:12 AM PT – Full moon at 29° Libra

On the edge of Libra, the second full moon in a row happens in the sign of the scales. This full moon acts as an exclamation point on the area of our chart that contains Libra. With this unusual double feature, April’s full moon ties into the themes of March. What peaked for you last month wasn’t the full story; this week’s full moon fleshes out the plot lines, making its point known.

Full moons are moments in the lunar cycle where something has peaked. The energy of a situation is at its fullest. Like a flower bud bursting open, all the glory that was held in the potential of a thing is revealed to the world. Now bees can come to roll around in the pollen of the project, spreading its potency far and wide. On the way to the full moon, make every effort to perfect, love, and care for what it is you want to release in the world. The full moon carries your intention forward with your efforts.

These two full moons in Libra are commenting on whatever it was we began about 7 months ago, with the new moon in Libra in October of 2018. Your horoscope below speaks more specifically to the area of life that these full moons are impacting but, in general, notice what in your life is naturally finding its own dynamic balance, it’s own conclusion and its own way of shining in the world.

April 20th

Sun enters Taurus

Welcome, Taurus Season! The first couple of weeks of it aren’t as chill as the bull likes to be, but the fields are alive with a different kind of music right now. As the sun wanders through these pastures, little earthquakes give way to larger ones. Change is afoot, and those with important points and planets in (especially the early degrees of) Taurus will be challenged to change in ways they’ve never been. Even the most stable of seasons have completely unexpected conditions to contend with. This is one of them.

Venus enters Aries

As the goddess leaves her throne and exaltation in Pisces, she moves into territory that is the exact opposite of where she thrives. Venus in Aries is a short-lived love affair. A fiery heart that burns out before it’s had time to figure out what it wants. A restless lover who has incredible magnetism, but not necessarily an interest in sticking around for the long-haul. That’s not to say that people with this placement are like this, but the conditions that Venus finds herself in, in Aries, force her to move mountains for relationships that last. If you want to learn more about your own personal Venus placement, and other things to do with love and intimacy in your personal chart, please join me for the workshop Your Love, Sex, and Synastry.

April 22nd

Sun conjunct Uranus in Taurus at 2°

Today’s astrology highlights the longer-range changes that Taurus is going through. The next 7 years sees Uranus transiting through Taurus, and every planet that now roams through the bull’s eye meets this maker. Uranus is here to work the fields in a much different way than they have been thus far. Innovating how we handle the resources that we have access to makes all the difference under these skies.

April 24th

Pluto stations retrograde at 23° Capricorn

This year, Pluto stations retrograde next to the south node. This gives the transit an extra emphasis on purging, releasing, and being relieved of what isn’t good for our spiritual growth. Pluto will spend the next 6 months moving a mere 3°, stationing direct at 20° Capricorn on October 2, 2019. That means if you have any planets or points between 20°-23° of Capricorn (Aries, Cancer, or Libra)they are receiving a very thorough investigation from Pluto. This Lordess of the Underworld has dirt on all of us, though. Whether or not we have planets in Capricorn, this transit helps us to investigate the motives that we have in the area of our chart that contains this earth sign.

April 27th

Mars in Gemini square Neptune in Pisces, both at 17°

A momentary confusion can set in as Mars, the warrior works its way through the fog and misleading signposts that Neptune places in its path. This is a quick transit so if you feel lost, stay where you are and wait for your mom or the next best thing to come get you.

April 29th

Saturn stations retrograde at 20° Capricorn

Stationing direct on the south node, days after Pluto did the same, Saturn will retrograde all the way back to 13° Capricorn, where it will station direct on September 18, 2019. From now until then it inspects, with the utmost scrutiny, the structures, guidelines, and fears that get in the way of us doing our best work. Saturn wants to check to see if we have done our homework, stayed late, and given the things we are working on the proper time to take shape. Conjunct the south node, Saturn’s station retrograde might have us contemplating the goals that are our guideposts. When these two come together we are asked to get real about the reasons for wanting to achieve what we do. Saturn slows us down to get it right; doing so on the south node might make us more willing to be honest with ourselves so we can release those goals that actually do nothing for us in the long run.

April 30th

Mercury in Aries sextile Mars in Gemini, both at 20°

Today, Mercury gets some help from its current ruler, Mars. Conversations are stimulating to say the least. Consensual dirty talk never sounded so sweet. Your more daring sentiments are expressed with greater ease and received with greater excitement.

May 1st

Mercury in Aries square Saturn Rx in Capricorn, both at 20°

Mercury now gives us a run for our money, moving swiftly through a couple of difficult situations. Everything ends up on a brighter note, but we are challenged to momentarily wade through some sludge. Today’s astrology has us up against a limitation or boundary in our thinking, or in terms of another that we are having a conversation with. Stay with what works and put obstacles in perspective. Things will shift by end of day tomorrow.

May 2nd

Mercury in Aries square Pluto Rx in Capricorn, both at 23°

Rounding out this challenging conversation, Mercury squares Saturn, the south node, and now Pluto. The truth is out there, but we have to be willing to release our ego in the process of finding it. Power dynamics get especially challenging with this transit so speak words that help deconstruct unfair imbalances.

Mercury in Aries trine Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius, both at 23°

Triumphantly, Mercury wins whatever battle it was waging. Spreading the good news, this configuration helps us to see beyond the burdens of our situation and make the most of the solutions we can think up, communicate, and take action on.

Horoscopes for Aries & Aries Rising

Just before Aries Season comes to a close, the second full moon in a row lights up your 7th house of committed partnerships. Over the stretch of March and April, these full moons have asked you to focus on the ins and outs of your intimate relationships and business partnerships. What’s been revealed needs to be taken into account.

Don’t waste your time pretending that you didn’t hear, see, or come to know what you have about your connections with others. Your heart, your talent, your energy all deserve to be connected to the people that get you and what you are up to. It is more than reasonable to refuse a match that is anything less than the perfect fit; in fact, it’s time-management 101.

The relationships that have revealed themselves as reciprocally inspiring now get a boost. What you began with another back in October now gets loved and lifted up.

The sun’s conjunction with Uranus on April 22nd tempts you to rebel against your self-doubt. What has it done for you lately? This transit is one of many occurring over the course of the next month that ask you to innovate your work in one way or another. Don’t be alarmed if the way your work life is flowing feels unfamiliar. Keep attuning yourself to how your resources want to work for you. Instead of trying to fit them into a system that might not understand what you are offering, build bridges to those that do.

As Pluto and then Saturn station retrograde (April 24th and 29th), they pull focus on your career roles, obligations, structures and the power of what you create when you take the time to build it with integrity. Try to focus more on the shape of it then the speed you think it should be built with. If it’s taking more time than you thought it would, it needs more time than you knew. Don’t rush what’s worth waiting for.

NOW 50% OFF: In this month’s lunar workshop, I’ve got a reading, ritual and guided meditation for your sign for the full moon in Libra.

Horoscopes for Taurus & Taurus Rising

If you want to break professional boundaries, records, and reasonable goals, you have to be willing to go it alone at times. You have to be willing to disturb the peace and be blamed for the disruption. You have to like yourself enough to risk being rejected by those that don’t understand you. Yet.

The second of two full moons in a row will be lighting up your 6th house of work projects, habits, and patterns. It helps your best efforts get the boost that they deserve, but there are other astrological forces at play that say you want more than just gold stars.

The sun’s conjunction with Uranus in Taurus is a rock-star of a start to your season. Encouraging you to break new ground, this astrology gets you to cause a little more commotion than is common for you. Living out loud, channeling chaotic creativity, and freaking out the part of you that yearns for stability, is par for the course. Your adverse internal responses need to be weighed against the necessary risks you must take at the moment. Soothe yourself, then challenge yourself.

As Pluto and then Saturn station retrograde (April 24th and 29th), they pull focus on your path forward. If there are places that you want to go but are putting off for fear of not being up to the task, this transit will ask you to outgrow such a limited understanding of what you are capable of.

NOW 50% OFF: In this month’s lunar workshop, I’ve got a reading, ritual and guided meditation for your sign for the full moon in Libra.

Horoscopes for Gemini & Gemini Rising

With the second full moon in a row lighting up your 5th house of creative projects, energy, and opportunities, April makes a point of telling you that you are talented. Whatever you have been working on developing since October of 2018 is now getting a double dose of divine love. What have you learned about spending your creative currency? What is your artistic tempo? When does your creativity need rest? Time to play, ponder and experiment? The less energy you spend trying to please others with what you are making, the more energy you’ll have to celebrate and appreciate the creative process in and of itself. It is its own reward.

The sun’s conjunction with Uranus on April 22nd teases out a talent, and possibly a sorrow, that has laid dormant for too long. What you’ve had to keep secret now needs to be set free. Truths that have been locked away in your unconscious are plotting an escape. Best to be their accomplice. It may be a rocky release, but the reward of living an honest life is worth the work to do so.

As Pluto and then Saturn station retrograde (April 24th and 29th), they pull focus on your collaborations. The biggest lessons that you are learning in regards to the exchanges of time, energy, and effort you make with others are most likely about taking responsibility for your part of the process. The less you overextend yourself, the less resentment you’ll have. Boundaries are a beautiful thing, make time to love up yours.

NOW 50% OFF: In this month’s lunar workshop, I’ve got a reading, ritual and guided meditation for your sign for the full moon in Libra.

Horoscopes for Cancer & Cancer Rising

With two full moons in a row in your 4th house of foundations, these past couple of months have brought you face to face with your non-negotiable needs. How you learn to care for your inner life makes your public one more pleasurable. How you learn to address your internal responses to your external growth helps you expand in ways that align with your purpose instead of pursuing what is merely fashionable. How you learn to take your home with you, no matter where you are, keeps you connected to what sustains you across continents and decades.

Consider how your work might feed future generations.

The sun’s conjunction with Uranus on April 22nd illuminates the social sea change that you are a part of. Something innovate wants to come through you and the people that you are gathering with. Listen to what your creativity wants to give to your audience. Listen to the ideas that your community has in regard to creative problem solving and socially conscious strategies for success. Your group-mindedness is grounded in a desire to make something better for everyone. Risk being momentarily misunderstood so that you can eventually be a motivating force for the collective good.

As Pluto and then Saturn station retrograde (April 24th and 29th), they pull focus on the shape and state of your committed partnerships. The ones that are high-functioning will get a chance to explore the depth of mutual pleasures you can reach. The relationships that are already rocky will likely crash into the issues that need to be dealt with. During transits like this, no matter the state of the union, the deeper fears of intimacy and betrayal arise to be healed, held, and understood for what they are. Fears aren’t always reliable friends to tag along with, though. Make it your goal to grow into the kind of person you’d feel relieved to be in a partnership with.

In the first 2 days of May, Mercury brings up important professional conversations that detail the nature of the obstacles you are up against. Ultimately they lead to learning something of incredible value, so don’t get thrown off by doubt. Stay around until the solutions come, because they are on their way.

NOW 50% OFF: In this month’s lunar workshop, I’ve got a reading, ritual and guided meditation for your sign for the full moon in Libra.

Horoscopes for Leo & Leo Rising

The second full moon in a row to light up your 3rd house of communication has a lot to say. March and April have had you on the move and for good reason. The messages you are spreading right now are opening up important opportunities for you and will continue to all year. What you are currently learning about effectively communicating your message will serve you for miles down the road so stay tuned into what works and turn the volume down on what doesn’t.

The sun’s conjunction with Uranus on April 22nd reveals just how important it is for you to be actively innovating through your public and professional work. What you are engaging in now either has never been done before or never done in the way you are about to do it. Stay attuned to your unique touch and reasons for attempting to do the impossible. No matter the competition, your cutting edge is your heart, art, and soul-centered reason for doing this work.

As Pluto and then Saturn both station retrograde (April 24th and 29th), they pull focus on the structures of your work life. What is sound survives the overhaul, but what needs a once over will get a thorough inspection. You’ll be revising plans, agendas, and the applications of your skills, but for the best reasons. In the end, these transits will see you clearer about your professional roles and reasons for occupying them.

NOW 50% OFF: In this month’s lunar workshop, I’ve got a reading, ritual and guided meditation for your sign for the full moon in Libra.

Horoscopes for Virgo & Virgo Rising

The second full moon in a row to light up your 2nd house of money, resources and assets mean business. Whatever financial lessons March and April brought you are coming to a close, but you’d be remiss to forget their meanings too quickly. What you learned about how to work with your resources, and issues that came up in regard to them, are priceless. Give yourself a bonus for the learning curves you’ve come through.

The sun’s conjunction with Uranus on April 22nd teases out the feelings that are bound to accompany the new journey you are on. Jitters are normal if you are allowing yourself to surpass your comfort zone, and it looks like that’s exactly what you’re being asked to do. Study what pushes your thinking into new paradigms. Put yourself in situations where you are forced to learn about what lies outside of your experience. Discomfort isn’t a punishment, it’s part of any good growth cycle.

Pluto and then Saturn station retrograde between April 24th and 29th, pulling focus on your creative projects and your process with them. What fears do you need to move through so that your creative energy feels free to do what it needs to? What do you have a hard time trusting about your creative process? What structures, time, energy, and focus do you need to give your creative energy so that you feel more at ease following its rhythms and ways? Help yourself by focusing on the craft rather than the crowd.

NOW 50% OFF: In this month’s lunar workshop, I’ve got a reading, ritual and guided meditation for your sign for the full moon in Libra.

Horoscopes for Libra & Libra Rising

The most important gaze to capture is your own. Keep your eyes on the prize. April is home to the second full moon in Libra in a row and as it graces you with a double dose of the spotlight, you get to see a little more of yourself. Whatever you are coming to appreciate about your story, your struggle, and your identity is determined by your willingness to show yourself some compassion. Especially when coming to understand parts of your past, compassion is key.

As Pluto and then Saturn station retrograde (April 24th and 29th), they pull focus on your humble beginnings. Having compassion for former versions of yourself is incredibly powerful medicine. We can’t change what we’ve done, but being compassionately accountable for what we did can move internal mountains at quantum speeds. Wage peace with yourself and see what it helps you appreciate your current and former selves and situations.

The sun’s conjunction with Uranus (April 22nd) makes clear the innovations needed in your collaborations. Perhaps convention tells you otherwise, but it’s time to listen to the ways in which you know you need to experiment with how to work with others. Go for efficiency and ways of working together that open up everyone’s creativity. The freer all sides are to explore their own talents, the more everyone will bring to the table.

NOW 50% OFF: In this month’s lunar workshop, I’ve got a reading, ritual and guided meditation for your sign for the full moon in Libra.

Horoscopes for Scorpio & Scorpio Rising

As the second full moon in a row lights up your 12th house of hidden life and behind the scenes projects, you have even more reason than usual to be secretive, protective and full of intrigue. Whatever you are cooking up in private has needed the protection. You of all people understand the pleasures associated with painstaking attention to detail that few if any will ever know about. Soon you’ll have recognition for your efforts but for now let the full moon applaud, if only in private, your work.

After the full moon begins to wane, Taurus Season settles in and the sun’s light starts to heat up your 7th house of relationships. It quickly makes a conjunction with..

April 5th

1:50 AM PT – New moon at 15° Aries

April’s new moon in Aries feels like a clean break from the slush and storms of March. As Mercury finally separates from its month and a half long tango with Neptune, before, during, and after its retrograde, many things get sorted. Plans get picked up where they were left off.  Missing emails reappear, and information comes back around to explain what wouldn’t make sense earlier in the year.

The new moon in Aries burns away the excess water that we’ve been wading through, and helps to reignite our relationship with our agency, discernment, and ability to transform ourselves through taking on the responsibilities that best serve us. Square Saturn and Pluto, this new moon tasks us with taking on the projects that are the most necessary for our growth at the moment. The point isn’t to be burdened with things that aren’t ours to carry; it is to learn to carry what we are responsible for with patience and persistence. Trine Jupiter, this new moon promises a lunar cycle that will reward the work that we put in with a great blessing and gifts we don’t want to miss.

April 7th

Mercury in Pisces sextile Saturn in Capricorn, both at 20°

Finally parting ways from Neptune, Mercury gets an affirming sextile from Saturn. This aspect helps us to piece back together the information that may have gone missing in February or March. Look for the solid yeses you receive from others and make sure you touch base with those you lost contact with earlier this year if you are still awaiting a response.

April 9th

Venus conjunct Neptune in Pisces at 17°

Ungrounded but incredibly inspirational, Venus and Neptune together are a dream-team of romantics. These love muffins will lift us up, but won’t necessarily remember to attach a safety net. This aspect is wonderfully soothing to the soul, creatively inspired, and reminds us of the power of being vulnerable, kind, and unconditional with our love. Give yourself a little extra today; tomorrow you’ll need it.

April 10th

Sun in Aries square Saturn in Capricorn, both at 20°

Distinctions are incredibly important to make in life. Today’s astrology might feel rude, but it would be silly to take it personally. At this point in the year, we are challenged to distinguish between what we can do and what is simply untenable at this point. Leading up to today’s astrology, it’s imperative to not take on too many burdensome responsibilities. What you have on your plate now is enough, leave the second helpings for another meal.

Jupiter stations retrograde at 24° Sagittarius

Making its yearly retrograde, Jupiter’s backward motion is nothing to fear. We don’t paint every planetary transit in astrology with the same brush. Planets that are slower, further away from the earth, retrograde for long periods of time, making their impact a little more subtle than the swift ones. Retrograding through the later degrees of Sagittarius, Jupiter, planet of growth and abundance, wants us to review the expansion we’ve experienced in the area of our chart that contains the free-wheeling, fire sign. This is a time to weed out the growth that threatens to take over the field, strangling the more temperamental of your projects. Not everything can grow at the same time, seasons have reasons. Knowing which you are in helps immensely.

Jupiter will retrograde from 24° to 14° Sagittarius, where it stations direct on August 11, 2019

Mercury in Pisces sextile Pluto in Capricorn, both at 23°

As Mercury works its way through the last bit of its retrograde shadow, it picks up what it left behind earlier in the year. Today’s Mercury sextile Pluto happened back in late February pre-retrograde and again in mid-March when The Messenger was back tracking. Now, in its third and final pass with Pluto, Mercury gets to use this planet’s impact for forward movement. Take note of any conversations that you have that leave you with a strong impression.  Powerful prose is delivered today, make sure to write down the words that touch your soul.

April 11th

Mercury in Pisces square Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius, both at 24°

Today, Mercury and Jupiter team up to make big plans. The mood is inspirational and optimistic, but not always realistic. Make sure you aren’t mistaking metaphors for facts, or future possibilities for current realities. Do take the astrology up on the offer to dream big, the lift in spirits is worth the price of the ride.

April 12th

Venus in Pisces sextile Saturn in Capricorn, both at 20°

Tomorrow’s astrology will challenge, but today’s helps. As Venus and Saturn snuggle up to make friends we are given the opportunity to solidify an agreement, make amends, or make a positive impression that is long-lasting. Whatever your agenda or wish list, reach out to those that have been on your mind or in your inbox awaiting a reply for a little too long.

April 13th

Sun in Aries square Pluto in Capricorn at 23°

Today digs deep into the places we may wish to leave well-enough alone. Transformations aren’t cheap. Everyone wants to change what isn’t working, but paying the price to do so means admitting where we have gone wrong, gone unconscious, or gone astray from our integrity. Today’s astrology teaches us about what a waste of time and energy it is when we try to control the narrative others have about us while also encouraging us to heal the one we have about ourselves.

April 14th

Sun in Aries trine Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius, both at 24°

One of the best days in the lunar cycle, today carries with it a definite mark of abundance and luck. All of the hard work that we have put in, from the new moon to now, is rewarded. What we have sincerely struggled with gives us ample amounts of insight. What we have learned to carry returns the favor and lifts us up. Whatever we have been lazy about won’t be rewarded, but the good feelings of today will smooth over any remorse we might have for better and worse.

Venus in Pisces sextile Pluto in Capricorn, both at 23°

Another helpful hint from today’s sky comes via the Goddess and her consorts. Venus goes deep with Pluto and again, is rewarded. Cathartic connections, impactful introductions, and generous greetings befall us. Get out and meet someone, especially the ones you were meant to meet earlier this year but didn’t for one reason or another.

April 15th

Venus in Pisces square Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius, both at 24°

Here, Venus and Jupiter gather to conspire for good. The feeling to spend, explore, love, and connect is magnified. Go big, but don’t break the bank.

April 16th

Mercury enters Aries

Finally leaving its shadow phase, Mercury crosses the threshold of its retrograde territory. In a new sign, Mercury steps out with a sharp style. With more fire than is good for some conversations, Mercury is made stronger with its current ruler in mutual reception. Mars (the planet that rules Aries) is currently in Gemini (the sign ruled by Mercury) assisting Mercury in Aries in any and all argument, point-making, and sharp tongue wagging. Spit-fire is the feeling with this combo, so be clear about the swords you set free with your speech. They will cut deep.

Aries & Aries Rising

I choose rebirth. I choose my inner-growth. I choose my process over the world’s production schedule. I refuse to feel shame for not meeting a marker I never held as meaningful. Instead, I tend to the creative fire in my belly, feeding the flames in sustainable ways.

I know that bringing something into the world is both awe-inducing and horror-filled. Creation is just as much about letting the old decompose as it is about birthing something new into being.

Every breakthrough is preceded by a breakdown.

I give myself room to fail, get it wrong, make it right, and give of what I have received from the process.

With this new moon I remember to parent all I want to usher into the world. I stay steady with what calls me until it has outgrown its need for me. Caring for my creations during each stage of development, without judgement, teaches me how to treat myself with the same unwavering encouragement.

I refuse to criticize any seedling of potential in my life.

The more I concentrate on doing what my life is asking me to do, the better I am able to do it. Obstacles appear less daunting when I don’t take them in all at once. Difficulties are less defeating when I keep my focus on the part of them that I can work on right now. Challenges feel less personal when I tackle the part of them that I know how to, working my way towards the unknown with faith that the answers will greet me when I get there.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

I am willing to receive healing that comes easily. I am willing to let slide what is too toxic to hold. I am willing to practice forgiving myself for being human until it becomes as solid as my ability to hold myself accountable for my impact.

It’s so much harder to get to the solution if I am only ever harsh on myself. When learning the most difficult lessons I can still be kind with my process. I can still be considerate of my conditioning, circumstances, and situational disadvantages.

I am willing to embrace the changes that I am going through as well as the repercussions of them. My mind might like them, but my body might need a moment to catch up. My heart might hope for more while my past might pull on my awareness.

My work is to remember that growth is never one way. As I move out into the world, I move deeper into myself. As I move closer to the truth, I get more perspective on what I have misunderstood. As I reach towards what is freedom to me, I have a clearer view of the ways I have been bound. What was repressed is getting free, but that doesn’t mean it feels safe, familiar, or easy. I can be grateful and still getting myself together. Growing and in need of grounding. Awakening and still in need of deep, restorative rest.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

Healing comes when it needs to. The more I trust the times that take me under, the more faith I have that I’ll resurface, usually with greater swiftness than I assume. As I change my relationship to the ways in which my inner life reveals itself to me, I change my relationship to fear. Learning to discern what is a real threat and what is just a perceived one can be the difference between a good day and a difficult relationship to life.

My well-being is connected to my community’s. My growth is connected to the goodness my people get to partake in. My wealth is woven into the abundance that those around me get access to.

My success is not separate from that of those around me.

I work with this new moon to imagine an uprising of our collective joy.  I work with this new moon to tap into those around me already blazing trails towards prosperity for all. I work with this moon because I know that if I don’t I can’t blame anyone else for what I haven’t done.

I am refreshed by those in my spheres that orbit solutions. I am blessed each time I take a moment to soak up fresh takes on how to dismantle our most challenging obstacles. I am strengthened each time I remember that my critique is essential for understanding a problem, but I am also here to embody and live my life as one of many solutions.

Cancer & Cancer Rising

I build a home for the work that excites my soul. I carve out space where there was none. I do all I can in order for my creativity to have a chance to manifest. To take root and flight out in the world. Without asking for permission. Without asking for forgiveness. Without worrying if it will be successful. I work to please the energy that brought me into being. I work for the creative intelligence that ushers all life into form. I work with this new moon to be bolder, louder, and unapologetic of how I go about my professional pursuits.

My intention for this new moon, and every one after it, is to be honest about what I want and what I am willing to do to manifest it. I refrain from complaining about what it takes to do so. If I want it, then I welcome all the work necessary to pursue it. If it becomes unbearable, I take a break. When I receive a sign to slow down, I take the whole process in stride. I take rest as seriously as I take action. I take time out to drop in. I continually take a deeper look at what is driving me, making sure it is connected to something bigger than me. Making sure that I am still excited about the possibilities that open up to me through it. Making sure that when I look at what I am working on in the world, it is a clear reflection of what I am working through and getting to internally. No one else need know it, but when I witness it, it witnesses me too.

Leo & Leo Rising

As my roles in the world change, so do my goals. I am awakening to what I am capable of. Awakening to what I am able to do with the talents I have access to. Awakening to the dreams that have always been within me, even if deeply dormant.

I am allowed to change course, change shape, change my point of view depending on what opens up to me. Changing my perceptions of what is possible is normal given my current circumstances.

When little is dependent on me, I am free to risk the most. When many are counting on me, I risk thoughtfully. Whatever I am free to wager, I bet on myself. On my dreams. On the most natural manifestation of my talents. I know that taking a chance is a luxury, so each one afforded to me is approached with deep gratitude.

Discovering my purpose is a privilege that I don’t take lightly. I do so as a way of freeing my potential, but also to be a part of freeing our collective potential. Below me are the shoulders I am blessed to stand upon and with them under me, I reach for all who could not, did not, and would not.

Virgo & Virgo Rising

I can always begin again. As many times as is needed. As many mornings as I am blessed to wake to, I get to restart.

There are many new avenues for me to venture down, new roads to wander, new trails to blaze. If one wasn’t working, I won’t worry about it. The ways in which I engage with what is difficult need not make it more so. I am willing to release myself from what doesn’t work. If it wasn’t meant for me, I won’t waste time grieving it. I’ll give it gratitude and get on with my day.

With this new moon I work to untangle myself from the collaborations that are no longer viable, reinvesting in the ones that are. I double down on the joint ventures that help me to develop the skills that serve my whole life. I work with this new moon to respond to any sadness, despair, or difficulty with greater compassion than I have been known to. I know that the more understanding I show myself, the more accountable I can be when my mistakes and missteps are more glaring than usual.

Libra & Libra Rising

There is no issue that I hold alone. No sorrow that is mine alone. No problem that I am up against all on my own. Someone before me has held the same sorrow. Someone beside me has struggled along the same path. Someone after me will look up at the same hill I currently climb.

I call on their wisdom. I call up my own. I continue to do what I can, but I remember that I am never acting in isolation.

With this new moon I remember all those I am related to, in relationship with, and in this life alongside. With this new moon I give up on thinking that I have to go it alone. I know that line of thinking is a facet of a system that refuses the power of interconnectedness. The lines that weave between you and I and them and us weave an incredible web of connection.

Of this I am sure.

I can feel loneliness and still know I am loved. I can feel cut off from solutions and still know that feelings aren’t facts. I have found my way thus far, and there is no reason why I won’t again. I can be celebrated by massive crowds and still seek the sources of connection that are quiet, solid, and grounded.

Scorpio & Scorpio Rising

A little healing comes my way each time I give myself the freedom to express what is in me. With me. Wanting to work through me. A little love comes my way each time I remember to seek it. Put myself in the way of it. Bring myself to its wells. A little joy is injected into my system every time I remember it as my birthright. My soul’s natural state. My pleasure may be political but it is my place of deep, personal restoration.

With this new moon I remember to bring my heart to work, my soul to my professional projects, and my spirit into all aspects of my life. With this new moon I reconfigure the work rituals that are inefficient. With this new moon I cut out what is deficient in the nutrients my professional life requires. I know that the inner work I do realigns me with the work I most want to do in the world. I take every opportunity given to me to develop myself, to understand myself, my skills, and my natural talents knowing not everyone gets such a gift.

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising

Friction is essential to ingenuity. Creative energy thrives in discomfort. Mine seeks answers to the heaviest issues I am carrying. It’s not the weight of the work I have to do that I need to worry about, it’s only my resistance to finding solutions to it.

This new moon reminds me that the most interesting answers come when I am willing to find a crack in the densest of the issues I’m dealing with. All I need is a fracture to make a breakthrough. All I need is to keep myself on schedule with my creative projects. All I need to do is build it and see who comes, what they bring, and what joy is to be had when I remember that I’m not in this alone.

This new moon reminds me that little moments of pleasure move mountains. This new moon reminds me that I need to defend my right to do nothing of great importance for a time. This new moon reminds me that my creativity needs to be taken out on the town, let loose, and given a break as much as it needs to come to work with me.

Your horoscopes for April 2019 are published with a companion Cosmic Playlist that I curate in collaboration with Spotify. April is home to a new moon in Aries, arriving this Friday, April 5, at 1:50 AM PT. Aries is a sign known for its ability to take brave, bold actions towards what it desires and this new moon encourages us to do the same. It’s a new moon that asks us to challenge our self-doubt by being thoughtfully responsible to all that we have committed to. It’s a new moon that demonstrates the transformational nature of being discerning, deliberate, and unwilling to be halted by unfounded fears. I hope these April horoscopes and playlists inspire, delight, and affirm you!

Whatever reminds you that you are enough needs to be placed front and center in all you do. Whatever salves help you heal the parts of yourself that feel inferior, inadequate, and devalued need to be applied every day. Whatever helps you to reset your system needs to be practiced with regularity.

You are allowed to begin again; with work, with relationships, with your whole life. Remind yourself as often as you can that your job is to develop a relationship to your life that centers you as its courageous protagonist. Once upon a time is right now.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

The first 3 weeks of April asks what it means to balance rest and renewal with action and accomplishment. It’s a month that puts the finishing touches on some of your more important work projects. It’s a month that illuminates the importance of stamina when applied to all that feels too important to give up on.

Sometimes it takes many moons for a project to come to completion. Take pride in being able to push through the professional doubts that along the way are only trying to derail you. Keep finding ways to give your dream job a chance to become a reality.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

April celebrates the successes that you experience when you put yourself in the social circles that feel like the right fit for your growth. It’s cute to be praised. It’s not helpful to be unfairly criticized. It’s hard, however, to grow if the people we surround ourselves with aren’t able to give us an honest reflection.

Folks that aren’t afraid to be honest and generous, thoughtful and courageous, triumphant and still learning are likely to inspire you to do the same. Find a way to give to the audiences that you’re holding captive right now the same kind of stellar sentiment.

Cancer & Cancer Rising

Whether or not you are being paid for your passions at this stage in your career, isn’t the point. Developing, trusting, and believing in the power of your gifts, when applied with consistency and sincerity is the only thing you need to focus on or prove to yourself.

Your greatest talents are the ones that you came into the world with, like a seed deep within you. When you trace them back, you’ll always be able to see the roots in your earliest yearnings, imaginings, and offerings. April’s astrology continues to highlight how deeply your desires are planted within you. Keep watering accordingly.

Leo & Leo Rising

April wants you to feel free to roam as long as it means meeting your responsibilities with willingness. This spring urges you to forge new professional paths, ones that help you get the job done with a style all your own.

The more you are able to trust your own insights and intuitions about what your professional life needs, the more you’ll be able to inspire other’s faith in your vision. The world reacts with great interest when you declare your ideas with thoughtful and steady confidence in your learning process. You don’t have to know how to get from A to B, you just need the desire to do so innovatively.

Virgo & Virgo Rising

April asks you to get your financial life in order. Sometimes just knowing what we have to work with is enough to inspire new ideas about how to work with it. How you create with the resources you currently have is highlighted, but so too are the resources that you might not always value.

Do an inventory of your skills, tools, and talents. You might be pleasantly surprised at how much you have to harness. The clearer you get on what you are good at, what you’ve got at your disposal, and what you aren’t built for, the freer you are to move towards what works. Knowing where you shine is half the battle.

Libra & Libra Rising

April comes bearing significant gifts for you to reap. Given your level of commitment, the benefits that befall you should be proportionate to the efforts you’ve made. With the second of two full moons in your sign, this month helps you get the extra boost you need.

The more you consciously keep putting yourself in spaces with the people that you admire, the places that inspire your best to come forth, and practices that you want your life to revolve around, the clearer the value add of your contribution becomes. This is true during any astrology, but it’s made extra obvious under these skies.

Scorpio & Scorpio Rising

In life, there is a certain amount of luck that occurs whether we try to create it or not. Sometimes that luck comes in the form of what we are asked to let go of. Sometimes it comes in the form of unknowingly getting ourselves to the right place at the right time. April gives you a little of both.

Trusting your instincts and following them up with effort is an incredibly sound recipe for success. Pay special attention to the work projects that are demanding your extra energy, as well as the ones that are momentarily quiet. The more you trust their ebb and flow, the easier it is to succeed.

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising

April encourages your creativity to pour forth. It defrosts your ambitions and wants to help you put your talents to practical use. Every time you take a risk and bring your ideas into form, you get a chance to understand what about them works and what doesn’t.

It’s a process that challenges the ego in the best of ways, but it’s worth every temporary bruise it might bring. In fact, the more you investigative you can get about how form meets function, the better. Not every idea you have is a good one, but every single one, when viewed with an abundant curiosity, will lead you to one.

Capricorn & Capricorn Rising

April brings the second full moon in a row whose light floods your professional life and projects. This pattern helps you to accomplish great feats with a little more ease than usual. Your reputation gets the gift of magnification, which promotes both your best efforts and the situations that need your attention.

The more you can feel inspired by what you do well, and what you still need to work on, the better. You aren’t meant to be a master of all, you are here to learn how to best climb to the top of all that piques your interest.

Aquarius & Aquarius Rising

April gets your problem-solving juices flowing and finds you moving around many an obstacle. Structure your days so that they include time for deconstructing the most perplexing of the issues you face. Your creativity needs space to find its own way. Your imagination needs time to rest in order to present its best. Ideas await you after naps and in-between tasks.

Stay open to the wisdom that finds you at the most inopportune times. Carry a notebook and ample amounts of curiosity with you at all times, it never disappoints and always asks the questions that lead us to the solutions we seek.

Pisces & Pisces Rising

April asks you to work through the nuts and bolts of your finances, work schedules, and professional goals. The more practical you get about your dreams, the more real they become. Getting to know what you can realistically create given your current time, energy, and abilities help you plan your reign accordingly.

Not every goal needs to be given your all right now. Steady yourself with the long-term plan in mind. Give yourself a reason to savor all the small steps it takes to reach the peak of your accomplishments. So much of the learning occurs along the way.

March 6th

Uranus enters Taurus

Having briefly flirted with this sign from May – November of 2018, Uranus is finally ready to commit to Taurus. The planet of upheaval in the most solid of earth signs is a situation we’ll spend 7 years understanding personally and collectively. In Taurus until 2026, Uranus will ask us to re-invent the area of our life and chart that contains Taurus. For a full rundown of what that means for you, please take a look at the Uranus in Taurus horoscopes from last May.

8:04 AM PT – New Moon at 15° Pisces

The sorrow we sit with may have no solution. The loss that we have lived through may have no bow, no wrap, no box to be placed in. The most unimaginable events of our lives come without answers. They ask to be witnessed but offer no promise of spectacular resolve, just a quiet deepening of our relationship with ourself over time. Sometimes with the most painful of processes there is only a steady learning of how to be with it, refusing to leave yourself because of it.

Those things untenable that have happened to us, happened. This we must accept. Their meanings have to be detangled from our sense of self and worth, but the imprint they have made upon us is unchangeable. Their impact undeniable. The act of acknowledging them is a gateway to a new relationship with what pains us, a gateway that hopefully leads to blessings greater than the harm done to us.

Without acknowledgement, the burdens we bear pull from our every resource. Taxing our systems. Distorting our drive. Veering us in directions that have less to do with our natural inclination and more to do with our desire to make a wrong right. A noble pursuit, but until we have done the work of acknowledging, unpacking, and interrupting our wounds from festering, there is little right to be wrought. The journey that healing requires demands we develop a determined desire to reflect on the events of our life and to understand the ways in which they have shaped us. Not to change what happened, but in order to make sure we don’t perpetuate more of the same.

In a world that loves to commodify our struggle, sell solutions, mass market rags to riches, and televise our triumphs, we are often left yearning for something more than the instagramable moments of our lives. We need containers that will hold us through the senseless cruelty we have, and do, face. We have every right to want it all to make sense, to contextualize our suffering, but if that is our only end game we miss a million moments of meaning along the way.

The new moon in Pisces occurs on March 6th at 8:04 AM PT. Conjunct Neptune, planet of illusions, delusions, ideals, deceptions, and compassionate connection, this new moon highlights the areas of life we’ve been in denial about. Happening on the heals of Mercury’s station retrograde (Mercury is retrograde from March 5th through March 28th), and within a degree of where Mercury will station direct, this new moon reflects back to us more than one feeling, need for healing, or personal pattern.

The beginning of Mercury’s retrograde always signifies an issue that we’ll come back to, but because this new moon occurs at the same place in the sky as Mercury’s station direct (meaning Mercury will travel all the way back to this point), and is conjunct Neptune (as Mercury will be when it stations direct), it is a significant signature to consider.

Systemic oppression relies on cognitive dissonance. For many, the caustic mix of too much power and close to no need to be accountable for our actions, means havoc is wreaked. Our very human idols are far from infallible and, at this point especially, it is beyond irresponsible of us to think otherwise.

What used to be swept under the rug, culturally, communally, and globally is finding ways to rise to the surface. Pisces is a sign that slips out of the cracks and crevices. The smallest of inches given are flooded by its waters. We can’t put the tea back in the cup once spilled, nor should we want to. There is too much to cleanse. Too many dank crevices to wash out. Too many cries stifled that need to be received.

This new moon and Mercury retrograde cycle spills.

It will be, at times, unmanageable, unruly, and uncooperative, but that is what life should be like when it’s lived honestly. One admission of harm sparks the memories of a million more. It’s not supposed to be an experience one can fold up like socks and neatly organize in a basket.

These next few weeks put us in line with exactly what we need for the next layer of our healing. Sextile Mars and Saturn, the new moon itself sets us out on our healing journey feeling supported. And after the new moon, the astrology is filled with many little blessings that add up to something substantial if we can parse out the reality from the fantasy, and our expectations for how we should heal with how we need to right now.

March 8th

Sun in Pisces sextile Saturn in Capricorn, both at 18°

Today’s astrology encourages us to put our best efforts forth. Saturn helps us to build confidence through small, steady steps towards success. Keep going, even when the path leads you two steps forward and many back.

March 10th

Mars in Taurus sextile Neptune in Pisces, both at 16°

The warrior and the dreamer team up to bring us themes of inspired action. This astrology reminds us that when we move towards what we believe in, it moves towards us too.

March 13th

Sun in Pisces sextile Pluto in Capricorn, both at 22°

Today’s astrology brings us to deep places with greater ease than normal. Access to riches open up when we risk being honest.

Sun in Pisces square Jupiter in Sagittarius, both at 23°

Always uplifting, usually overzealous, the sun square Jupiter can help us feel renewed, if not a little unrealistic about our abilities. Careful not to overextend yourself, your calendar, and your expectations.

March 14th

Mars in Taurus trine Saturn in Capricorn, both at 18°

Today wants to win. With Mars and Saturn in positive alignment, little can stop them. Use this astrology to call up your determination to get the job done, whatever that may be.

Mercury Rx makes its inferior conjunction to the sun at 24° Pisces

It’s up to each one of us to clean up the messes we’ve made and to honor the process of doing so. It’s the way we stay humble and hydrated. It’s the way we stop ourselves from thinking we are above, beyond, or too good to for the realities of life. It’s the way that we get to the truth.

Today marks and important point in Mercury’s retrograde cycle. As Mercury makes its inferior conjunction to the sun, it helps us get to the heart of a matter. Here, Mercury gets a solar infusion that helps it regain some of the strength it lost along the first half of its retrograde. Pay close attention to the messes you realize are yours to tend to, the messages you receive, and the inspiration that comes when you stay tuned into your inner process.

March 15th

Mercury Rx in Pisces square Jupiter in Sagittarius, both at 23°

Here sentiments are expressed with great inspiration and possibly exaggeration. These aren’t skies to convey hard truths under, but they will wax poetic till the cows come home. Be wary of false prophets and open to inspiration at the same time.

March 16th

Mercury Rx in Pisces sextile Pluto in Capricorn, both at 22°

Whatever Mercury is helping you review leads you to a deeper understanding of it. This astrology asks us to excavate quite a bit, but it isn’t without ample reward. The less afraid you are of what it is you’ll find, the more you’ll be able to do with what you dig up. All information at this point is important, but it isn’t the whole story.  Stay tuned in to what is going on underneath the surface of your situation as that is where the real value of your story lies.

March 17th

Mercury Rx in Pisces sextile Mars in Taurus, both at 21°

Here The Messenger feels emboldened by the Warrior and encouraged to seek the truth of the situation. The information that has been excavated may be empowering and encouraging you to take action in ways that feel healing for having done so.

Aries & Aries Rising

Memories, and the emotions attached to them bring information that I never refuse. Timing is everything and any part of my past that is being recovered right now is worth investigating.  Even briefly. I know not to hang on to what is moving through me, but I also know not to resist the current.

I am both the container for my experience and the witness of how it pours forth.

Like water overflowing, I allow my imagination to play with the possibilities of what it looks like to live into, through, and beyond the stories of my life. To survive is to defy.

What I allow to define me is my choice, my point of power, and my right to change when and where I need to. With this new moon I am reminded to take note of what I am calling myself, how I am referring to myself, and what that infers to myself. I am here for my liberation, and anything that needs to be released on the way to my personal freedom must be given back to its owner.

Within the incubators that house my creative energy I give myself permission to regenerate. Here I reclaim myself, rename myself if need be, and remember that I am always becoming, undefined by what has happened to me or hasn’t happened for me.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

I pay close attention to what I hear repeatedly from loved ones, friends, colleagues, and those whose opinions I trust. I pay close attention to the parts of my ego that get bruised in the process, but closer attention to the parts of my heart that are given space to heal. Working through difficulties with others takes time and consideration. Careful attention to details and the patience to let the process unfold is a must if I want to grow through any challenge given to me.

I know that rushing a solution finds me no solace in the long run, but neither does avoiding the event altogether.

With this new moon I am open to reviewing the ins and outs of my connections with others. Without needing to be a savior for anyone, right about anything, or ahead of any of it, I am dedicated to staying with myself through it.

As much shifts in my life and as a result, my ideas of myself, I am made aware of all the ways in which I have been misrepresented. All the ways in which I have shrunk myself down to a deceptive description of who I am. All the ways in which I have been cheated out of taking myself, my talent, and my options seriously. I refuse to let my reputation remain inside of safe containers. I know that to grow is to risk losing all that I have accumulated, but I also know that I am so much more than what surrounds me. With this new moon I rededicate myself to the paths that challenge my growth the most.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

I’d rather be honest about my mistakes, mishaps, and learning curves than be perceived as someone I am not. I’d rather be honest than be right. I’d rather be honest than pristine.

The truth is sometimes a mess.

As long as I have my integrity, precarious positions don’t bother me.  Comfort that comes at the cost of withholding an essential truth keeps me up at night. I come to my professional and public roles with the intention of discovering, understanding, and communicating as honestly as possible.

If what I do in the world is genuine, it will also be, by default, healing. When I am able to be straightforward, I have a greater capacity to clear out the obstacles in front of me, personally and professionally. I work to leave a legacy of what it means to live and work truthfully. Not impressively. Not even spectacularly. I can’t carry all the glamor and glitz with me when I leave here, but the truth will always lift me up and carry me where I need to go.

For a reading for your sign for the New Moon in Pisces and Mercury Retrograde, as well as rituals, guided meditations and altar suggestions, please join me for A Workshop for the New Moon in Pisces, the Equinox Full Moon in Libra, and the Astrology of the Lunar Cycle from March 6th to April 4th

Cancer & Cancer Rising

I honor the editing process that I am in. Like weeding an overgrown garden, I remove what is unhelpful in order to bring out the beauty naturally present.

I work with this new moon to clear what clutters my path. Doubts that have no sense need to be dumped. Fears that have no foundation need to be exposed as the frauds that they are.  Shame that no longer serves a purpose needs to be shown the door. This clearing is mine to do. It can’t be shopped out, left for another, or put off.

This helps me take responsibility for the direction I am heading in, but it also helps me feel empowered in the process of doing so. The more I own my desire to head in the direction of my dreams, the less likely I am to resent the work necessary to get there.

With this new moon I claim the path that I am on, all that it asks of me, and all that it asks me to give up, miss out on, or forgo for it. I am crystal clear about the price and that the payoff is to merely be in this process with it.

I use this Mercury retrograde to review my strategies, maps, and ways of getting from point A to B, making sure that they leave me open to get all the way to Z.

Leo & Leo Rising

Every feeling I have has a right to exist. It doesn’t have a right to rule my decisions, actions, or directions in life, but I give each emotion space to breathe. Allowing my feelings to roam freely opens up the option for their dissipation. Being honest about what I am feeling frees my energy up. If I don’t need to push away what I don’t understand, I can explore what it wants to show me, teach me, lead me towards.

This freedom finding is my job. The most important thing for me to professionally pursue. The liberation I allow myself lifts my career out of the realm of the ordinary and into the realm of the soulfully satiating. Over the next 7 years, it’s my job to see what my professional pursuits are capable of. It’s my job to work towards freeing the potential of my profession as a whole, but not solely on my own. Through me, and those around me on the same page, a change is taking place. A new age needs to be brought into this industry. What I am doing out in the world is about more than just me, it’s about finding all the ways possible to harness the power of lightening and use it for the change we are all hungry for.

Virgo & Virgo Rising

I am made stronger by every moment of vulnerability I have allowed myself. Even when I’m met with less warmth than I’d hoped from others, I’m still fortified by my own efforts. Being honest in front of others takes courage. I am willing to look like a human who makes both mistakes and as many attempts to get it right as it requires. I am willing to be humbled by all that I still need to learn. I am willing to be misunderstood on the way to being known.

I’m in no rush to be right.

My relationships require me to learn how to be open to my own experience when I’d rather shut down, shut you out, or shut the door completely. When I am able to hang out in the moments of wanting to do so, without actually doing so, I know that growth is occurring. I know that change is possible. I know that from this place all the information I need becomes available to me. With much change on the horizon, I know that developing the skills to sit with what’s uncertain and uncomfortable is more than useful, it’s the most reliable compass I’ll ever have contact with.

Libra & Libra Rising

Hesitations need to be investigated. The little nudges from my gut that tell me to wait for the right moment are my secret weapon, but others are just doubts that too easily get turned into my downfalls. My work is to know which to act on and which to actively undo. I take this moment up on its offer to look deeper into the nature of my hesitations.

When I stop myself out of fear of being rejected, I know I have also stopped myself from experiencing the thrill of chasing my dreams. My drive and dreams alone guarantee little, but there’s no way I’ll know what they are capable of if I don’t risk my comfort. Over the next 7 years my collaborations are key to my success. My ability to state what I want and what I am willing to do to achieve it will be a huge factor in finding the right match for my magic. I work with the new moon to recommit to the professional partnerships and projects that put me in line with what heals me by merely working towards it. If it isn’t helping to transform me in some way, it likely won’t do so for others. I am willing to risk a lot, but only for the things that feel like they have an unlimited ability to bring healing here.

Scorpio & Scorpio Rising

I focus on the process of creating. I study its healing impact on my life. Following its flow reminds me that there is no right way to make a life, there’s only the act of trying my best to do so. With sincerity, integrity, and willingness, I put myself in alignment with what wants me, honestly.

I don’t want it if it wasn’t meant for me and I won’t grieve it if it was never mine in the first place. This goes for love, life, and all things under the sun. I am open to the innovations that my partnerships are experiencing. As I grow, my needs change. As I appreciate more of myself, my tastes change. As I honor my boundaries, my attractions change.

I am here for what is real.

No illusion of love, no illusion of power, no facade of fame can ever satiate the hunger I have for living a life I can sink my teeth into. No one has fangs as formidable as mine, and it would be a crying shame not to put them to good use.

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising

Whatever is being unearthed within me is right on time. I trust the timing when the past comes back for review. I know that there is a wisdom to the ways in which my healing happens. Even though parts of it are painful, the unfolding of it is always poignant. Serendipity has its own kind of sweetness. Knowing that what is happening isn’t random awakens within me a faith where there was none.

Whatever part of my past robbed me of hope needs to be investigated. I came into this world full of love, joy, and the capacity to trust. Whatever took that away was an important turning point in my process. I owe it to myself to look into it instead of away..

Love is a risk. Love is a loss. Love is a revolution.

Love makes clear every fear we must work through. Love brings with it every reason to make such effort. Love initiates us, leaving us forever changed, forever marked, forever awakened to what could be.

The love we cultivate, the love we elevate, the love we choose to accentuate speaks volumes about who we are and how we define our lives.  Love isn’t romance alone, but the most platonic of relationships can be the most romantic. Love is the only thing worth decorating oneself, and ones life, with and for.

Love needs to be at the center of all we do if we are to do it for long. Love needs our actions because it starves on words alone. Love needs our solidarity because it shrivels up in isolation.

This world has no shortages of opportunities to demonstrate love out loud. May we use each one that comes our way. May our love crack the shields that loneliness creates. May our actions create more spaces for love to flourish.

This week’s horoscopes are (reworked and) republished from February 2017, I hope they still serve you well. They were, and are, written as inspirations to help us understand, accept, and possibly love each other, and ourselves, a little better.

The sign that the sun was in when we were born is only one part of our astrological chart, far from the whole of it. You may therefore, want to read the horoscope for the signs that your sun, moon, rising, and Venus are in, for yourself and your loved ones. You’ll know which parts of each of them resonate with you the most, as always, leave the rest.

Aries

Love the fire. Love the passion. Love the energy.

Love them like they are or leave them alone. Love them without asking them to stay in one place. Love them for all that they stir up. Love them for the energy that they have to channel day in and day out. Like a live wire, Aries possesses a tremendous wattage. That’s no easy task. It can leave one burnt out, freaked out or on fire with the latest inspiration.

They need many outlets.

They need indirect encouragement to focus on the activities that are productive and proactive. They need to find solutions to their problems themselves or they won’t respect what they have won.

If you love an Aries, love the way they set themselves and life into motion. Love the way they fill empty space with their energy. Love the way they burst onto the scene. Without thinking about the consequences.

Love them through every scuffle but refuse to let them pick a fight with you just to let off steam. Love them through the wild bouts of energy that they are asked to manage but don’t let their style steamroll your own needs. Love the fact that they are willing to test the limits of their heart through the boundaries of the relationship they are in with you. Hold them accountable. They will love you all the more for it.

Love their bravery and their ability to encourage your own.

Be a worthy opponent by being honest and unwilling to be bossed. Be willing to push back out of a deep dedication to your love for them. Be dedicated to your own independence and let your relationship with them be a testament to what can happen when people come together to honor one another’s spirit.

Taurus

Love the love. Love the commitment. Love the staying power.

If you love a Taurus, be prepared to have your own loyalty tested in the face of their relentless ability to love you no matter what. Be prepared to be hugged often and cuddled, often. Taurus needs tactile reinforcement. Get your massage game on.

Give up pushing, you’ll just exhaust yourself. There is no point trying to move a boulder or a bull. Instead, find comfort in being able to lean on a source of such enduring warmth. Taurus is its own time zone. You can either get with Taurus time or get frustrated by it, but you won’t change it. They’ve got a rhythm that they are good with and if you aren’t, it’s on you.

Taurus knows how to sink into the moment and absorb what is good. Following suit can only help you get your chill on. Following suit can only help you get a glimpse of the kind of opulence that they know how to live into. Following suit can only help you to feel more luxurious in your own skin, which, if Taurus knows how to appreciate anything, it is the skin we are in.

Gemini

Love the movement. Love the effervescence. Love the breeze they make as they blow through each and every idea.

Loving a Gemini is loving rapid fire questions, answers and the ideas that brew in the in-between. Gemini lives in liminal spaces. In the bubbling of an idea. In the not-yet-formed-so-all-bets-are-off moments of life.

To love a Gemini is to love learning how to fly. Without a safety net. Without resistance. With ideas that have an anti-gravity effect. To love a Gemini is to soar outside the bounds of time and space into the open skies of wind and words. To love a Gemini is to be enamored with one of the most charming of magicians. It is to know that inconsistency is not the same as change. In order to grow we must be willing to shed layers, but shifting scenes isn’t in the same league as changing a pattern of behavior. It does no one any good to let a sleight of hand cover up the truth of a situation. Love them, and yourself, enough to keep you both honest.

To love a Gemini is to love both their need for exchange and reflection. A mind that never rests needs both the far reaches of space and the deep caves of consideration. Being loved by a Gemini is to be endlessly entertained with options, ideas, new angles, and an unrelenting humor. No one knows how to lift your spirits with a turn of a phrase like the twins. No one looks harder for their counterpart than they do. To be loved by a Gemini is to feel part of the most dynamic of duos. An inner circle of extraordinary company.

Cancer

Love being cared for. Love being fed. Love being home no matter where you are.

If you love a Cancer, you will never go for long without an ample dose of feeling. An extra side of emotion. A cup that runneth over.

The release of water is their every ritual.

To love a Cancer means that you will be initiated into your own emotional life. You’ll cry more. You’ll feel more. You’ll have to learn to weather the storms. You’ll have to learn how to read the forecasts. You’ll have to know the difference between skies that will bring a drizzle and skies that promise a torrential downpour.

Always pack rain gear.

Crabs scuttle sideways when they get scared. Love is terrifying. You’ll sometimes look like a monster to them. You’ll need to remind them who you are. You’ll need to become adept at reading their defenses. You’ll need to understand the shape of their shell. You’ll need to know when you have pressed up against their soft underbelly. They are not the kind of beast you want to hurt. They’ll either pinch back with claws too mighty to mess with or they’ll fall in to a world of pain you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy.

No love is as personal as this. But no love is as permeating either. If a Cancer loves you, you will know it. If a Cancer chooses you, you will feel it. If a Cancer is down for you, you have love for life and more nourishment than you’ve ever known.

Leo

Love the theatre of living. Love being the roaring applause. Love basking in the glow of an incredible star.

To love a Leo is to love loudly, without shame or reservation. Never hesitate to demonstrate your appreciation of them. Leos need consistent odes of devotion. Some Leo’s may want a grand gesture, others will just want a simple one, but there needs to be something shown.

Receipts count and will be counted.

So will the times that you encouraged their courage. Leos need to shine but don’t always believe that they have the right to. Even the loudest, most flamboyant of cats need to hear that their mode of self-expression is inspiring. Even the most self-assured of tigers need help taming their insecurities. Even the beasts with the most beautiful manes need to be reminded of their magnificence.

A little feedback goes a long way.

To be loved by a Leo is glorious. It is to be kissed by the sun. It is to laugh until you have lost all composure. It is to indulge in the joy in letting go of your inhibitions. It is to feel lucky to be relieved from the grit and grime of the mind, lifted up to the realms of the spirit. Leo may need applause, but it will always return the favor with a confident wattage that will light you up and remind you of your own magnificence, brilliance and importance.

Virgo

Love the precision. Love the thoughtfulness. Love the sincerity.

To love a Virgo is to love that they may not know how to leave well enough alone. Love that they may not know how to let go when there are jobs left undone. Love that they may want to sort instead of consort until there’s quality company to be had.

Notice the work that they have done to make your life easier. Applaud them for the carefully curated problem solving they have provided for you. Make an effort to understand how their worry manifests. Hyper-criticism will arise when they feel unsafe, unsettled, or unfulfilled. Rather than engaging with the critique, engage with the underlying stressor. Let them know that you are holding their story with them. Following the plot. Connecting the dots. Ready to work it out at a moment’s notice.

Once Virgo understands your ability to roll up your sleeves and put the effort in, the well-earned, hard-won respect you get from them is no ordinary praise. Virgo can be demanding, but Virgo will never forget your favorites, your needs, and your necessities. They might not call for your attention all the time, but once you get theirs, they’ll make a ritual out of reminding you how special you are.

Libra

Love their love of beauty. Love their need for justice. Love that they will try to be the balance to everything off kilter.

To love a Libra is to love that if laughter is missing, they will bring it. If anger is needed, they will bring it. If tenderness is nowhere in sight they will seek to be the source of it. Whatever is out of whack will be made right by these scales.

When you love a Libra let them know that it is OK if you are not. Let them know that it is OK to let you struggle with something. Let them know that conflict isn’t disaster, failure, or comment on their character. It’s a necessity moment when moving through an issue.

When you love a Libra you’ll need to let them know that it is not their job to keep the world in balance. Just themselves. Remind them that their boundaries are beautiful and acknowledged. Remind them that they are always half of the equation.

To love a Libra is to love the way they move about a crowd. It is to love that they are always seeking to see where justice has yet to be served. It is to love their need to weigh all the options with each person that is important to them. To love a Libra is to know that we aren’t the only one they’ll need, but when they are with us we’ll feel like the only ones in the universe that matter.

To be loved by Libra is to be relieved of the feeling that you are alone in the world. It is to be inspired to reveal your beauty, to share the best of yourself and to join in the art of relating for no other reason than the sheer pleasure of being in good company.

Scorpio

Love the intensity. Love the depth. Love the determination.

To be loved by a Scorpio is to be transformed. To be loved by a Scorpio is to have the stealthiest army on your side. To be loved by a Scorpio is to be focused on. Held together through every falling apart. Relentlessly devoted. To love a Scorpio is sometimes a test of one’s endurance, a test of one’s ability to dive deep, and a test to see if you are a match for their intensity. If so, you’ll be privy to an impossible beauty. To get a glimpse of the depth of their heart is to be a reminder of your own.

Famous for its resilience, loving a Scorpio is loving the paths that will bring you to the edge. And back. Scorpio loves all the way through. Into the mystery and back again. Through the misery and back again. Into the suffering of becoming and back again. Scorpio works with those that prove they won’t abandon them in the process. Wary of betrayal, Scorpio can take its time deciding whom is worthy of their secrets and their powers of regeneration.

If they have chosen you, you can be sure you are up to the task, and its tremendous gifts.

Loving a Scorpio is helping them let go of what doesn’t work. Their deep reservoir of emotional energy must be accessed, worked with, and channeled. Anything in the way of doing so must be overcome, undone, and left in the past. This powerhouse of healing energy they posses is one that the world so desperately needs.

Sagittarius

Love the gallop. Love the furious and fearless pace. Love the adventure.

To love a Sagittarius is to love not knowing where you’ll end up. It’s to love getting lost because of all you’ll find together. It’s to love the learning that you didn’t know you would be doing.

To love a Sagittarius is to love being pulled in the direction of discovery.

With a relentless optimism, Sagittarius can often overstep. Racing into the unknown, they can find themselves overwhelmed with unforeseen obstacles. Help them pace themselves without restraining their natural gait. To love a Sagittarius is to manage extremes with them. Forever learning the repercussions of such great galivanting, Sagittarius can be surprised by its own self-inflicted situation. While most of us are tired just at the thought of attempting a smidgeon of what they do, Sagittarius is already on to the next thing.

Loving a Sagittarius is learning how to be uplifted by their inspiring and expansive take on life while not being swept away by the earnest, yet sometimes improbable, promises they may make. It’s not that they are incapable of delivering the impossible, it’s just that the cost of it might outweigh the benefit.

To be loved by a Sagittarius is to be loved in the face of every doom and gloom the world might throw at us. It is to have an ally as full of faith, generosity, and gratitude as they come. It is to be moved time and time again by their ability to find even the smallest speck of hope and to hold it up to the light casting prisms of beauty along the halls of your life together.

Capricorn

Love the strategy. Love the climb. Love for real.

To love a Capricorn means that you’ll always know where you stand. You’ll unknowingly break their rules but at least they’ll have the courtesy to tell you exactly how, why, and when it happened.

Loving a Capricorn requires that you love the tuff stuff. It requires that you can laugh at your own vanity, because they will. It requires that you have a deep and abiding appreciation for being called on your core issues. Unafraid of the hard work of becoming, Capricorn knows the ins and outs of suffering. Unaffected by sentimentality, Capricorn is not afraid to call it like it is and keep it moving.

Capricorn was born to know thyself. Capricorn was brought into existence to teach us how to be self-reliant, self-sufficient and self-supporting.

If you are going to be in partnership with them, act like you mean it. Show up on time, which means early. Show up prepared, which means willing to keep working. Show up ready to put in your best effort, which means that nothing is sexier than efficiency and your desire to succeed.

In return, they will love you like it’s their most important job, and to a sign whose work is sacred, that is no small sentiment. They will bring you the nuggets of wisdom that they have gleaned over the ages. They will awaken you to your own power, power that is slowly cultivated and authentically earned. They will support you in finding your own foundation. One so grounded that it will have you wondering how you ever made it this far without it.

Aquarius

Love the clarity. Love the certainty. Love the strength that they constantly communicate to the world.

Love their ability to care more about getting their point across than pandering to the feelings of those in power. Nothing impresses this sign save for the ability to think for oneself. Not swayed by public opinion, able to see past the fears that most humans let their thinking get bound up in, Aquarius aims for the truth and will pick you when they know that you are it.

To be loved by an Aquarius is to be respected. To be loved by an Aquarius is to be loved for your own merit. To be loved by an Aquarius is to be loved out of choice, never out of duty.

To love an Aquarius is to love being constantly astounded by how quickly they understand a system, situation or subtlety. To love an Aquarius means introducing them to the fact that facts sometimes can hurt your feelings. Facts don’t always need to be the first thing spoken. Some hearts need time to adjust to the truth.

To love and be loved by Aquarius means that autonomy is a turn on for you both, and space is sacred, necessary, and needed if the embers of the heart are to be kept alive and aglow.

Pisces

Love the romance. Love the infatuation. Love the way they see your very best first and foremost.

When a Pisces loves you, they will always wish the best for you. When a Pisces loves you, they will never let you forget why they believe in you. When a Pisces loves you, they’ll swim circles round your heart soothing any ache with their whimsical ways, diverting your attention away from your sorrows towards more pleasant tides.

To love a Pisces is to love the intoxication of their presence. To love a Pisces is to let yourself be humored by their unruly ways. To love a Pisces is to let your vulnerability rise to the surface to meet their own.

Pisces needs to be needed, but not controlled. Trying to hold on to a fish is foolish. Pisces needs to move, to flow and to follow the currents of the day. Trying to limit this kind of mystical creature to only one pond would be a shame of the highest order. To crush the dreams of a Pisces unleashes the howling cry of a forlorn mermaid. Harsh, bitter notes of betrayal and pure unadulterated agony can bellow from the depths of these seas. Better to roam freely beside them or stand back in awe of all the places Pisces can travel. At once. With great grace. With great compassion. With great abandon. With great love for you and all other beings. Its heart belongs to the whole.

February 4th

1:04 PM PT – New Moon at 15° Aquarius

Clear. Concise. Certain. Intellectually rigorous, Aquarius pours forth its well-earned wisdom to the masses. No one masters a system of thought like the water-bearer, and that’s why few are as innovative. Aquarius seeks no intellectual short-cuts, just facts. Once this sign has made up its mind about something, good luck persuading it otherwise. Aquarius isn’t here to hog the spotlight, but would rather shine it upon the answers and ideas that the group might benefit from the most. In this way, Aquarius usually earns attention for its intellectual prowess, but it’s never the main motivation.

On February 4th at 1:04 PM PT, the new moon in Aquarius arrives. Bringing with it a fresh start, this new moon is the first in 2019 that is free of shadow. January was consumed with both a lunar and solar eclipse, neither of which were open to interpretation. Eclipses tend to dominate the scene with their agenda. This new moon is more of a clean slate for us to work with and will perhaps feel like the first new moon of 2019. This new moon also ushers in the Lunar Chinese New Year, and brings us into the Year of the Pig. Devoted, generous and compassionate, the Year of the Pig will hopefully teach us much about its attributes.

The new moon in Aquarius is in a supportive sextile to Jupiter in Sagittarius. Offerings like this are ones to work with. To have a new moon infused with the protective, prosperous, and positive energy of Jupiter is a gift to receive and respectfully work with. What you start with this new moon has help, encouragements, and a door or two opened for it. Whatever it is you are working towards, this new moon gives your efforts the lift they might need to get you there with greater ease.

Jupiter lends what we start with this new moon a confidence. Aquarius understands that when something makes logical sense and is structurally necessary, one should not waiver on it.

The more you believe in the validity of your dreams, desires, and visions for your life, the more real they’ll feel. The more responsibility you’ll feel for them. The more you’ll work towards manifesting them. The more you see yourself as a care-taker of them, and a protector for all that is possible through them, the more emboldened you’ll feel to risk what is necessary to bring them about.

Anyone who is successful is always asked how they got there and, more often than not, they’ll tell you it began with a feeling, knowing, or dream and the clarity to take it seriously. May this new moon help you communicate with that kind of inspirational certainty. May it, momentarily at least, relieve you from your doubts. May it build your confidence, and bring you into greater alignment with the gifts that want to work their way into the world through you.

February 7th

Sun in Aquarius sextile Jupiter in Sagittarius, both at 18°

Today’s astrology picks up on the most prosperous and abundant aspects of the new moon. As the sun perfects its sextile to Jupiter, it encourages us to embody the confidence the new moon hinted at. Just for today, try to own every inch of your skin. Just for today, be unapologetically you. Just for today, proclaim your dreams to the world and see what shifts for you. Internally and externally.

Then try it again tomorrow.

Mercury in Aquarius sextile Mars in Aries, both at 25°

Today, along with the confidence boost of the sun’s sextile to Jupiter, Mercury is gifted with the muscle power of Mars. This gives the ever-insightful Mercury in Aquarius the ability to use a little more edge to get its meaning across. It’s the perfect astrology to drive home a point. Just make sure that its in service of something greater than being right.

February 9th

Mercury in Aquarius sextile Uranus in Aries, both at 29°

Mercury picks up on the insights and innovations that Uranus is throwing down. This is our invitation to momentarily throw out convention and see what we can channel without the constraints of tradition. This is great day to articulate your ideas and find solutions with those that are willing to work as creatively as you inside and outside the box.

February 10th

Mercury enters Pisces, there until April 17th

In Pisces, Mercury’s messages are beautiful in sentiment, but not so strategically inclined. Here, Mercury waxes poetic with incredible ease, but when all you wanted was directions to the store, this can be a little less than helpful. Make sure you double up on facts, logic, and proven ways forward, but do let yourself indulge in the images, sounds, and inspirations that get your imagination going.

Mercury will spend an inordinate amount of time in Pisces as it will retrograde through these waters from March 5th until March 28th. This transit will give us ample opportunity to understand where we tend to lose the plot and drop the ball, logically speaking.

February 12th

Mars conjunct Uranus in Aries at 29°

One of the most combustable pairings possible, Mars and Uranus together, especially in Aries, are no wallflowers. This turbo charged couple will create breakdowns, breakthroughs, and changes that happen at a speed so fast it’s impossible to process all at once.

This is the last time (for the next 84 years) that these two will come together in Aries. As Uranus moves signs for good come March 6th, the last few transits it makes in Aries are moments that tend to crystalize the lessons we learned with Uranus here. Wherever this transit falls for you (whichever house 29° of Aries is in your chart, also see your Uranus horoscope) will tell you much about the conventions you need to buck, the wild energy that needs to find a way through you, and the ways in which you are no longer willing to work within a system that doesn’t work for you. With transits like this, it’s imperative to know which bridges to cross and which to burn.

February 14th

Mars enters Taurus

As Mars moves into Taurus, the tempo slows considerably. Here Mars doesn’t have access to the speedy pathways it enjoys, nor does it have the resources that keep it happy. A little stubborn and some might say lazy, Mars in Taurus plods along. It will get there eventually, but not expediently.

Mars will remain in Taurus until March 30, 2019.

February 17th

Venus in Capricorn sextile Neptune in Pisces, both at 15°

The last sweet sentiment Venus receives while in Capricorn, the sextile between the Queen and her ideal consort is nothing short of a rom/com with all the right elements. Today’s astrology is heavenly, but short-lived. Tomorrow, Venus, and our relationships, get a reality check, Saturn style.

Sun in Aquarius sextile Uranus in Aries, both at 29°

The sun sextile Uranus is an invigorating jolt of energy that aims to wake up any aspect of ourselves asleep to the power of our individuality. This aspect encourages the weirdo within to take center stage and remind us all how fun it is to flip the bird to convention, respectability, and popular standards of mediocrity.

February 18th

Venus conjunct Saturn in Capricorn at 16°

The Pleasure Seeker and the Master of Misery come together today, testing our boundaries, asking what our intentions are, and giving our creative and romantic situations a major once over. Far from the free-wheeling romance of yesterday’s Venus/Neptune sextile, today’s astrology wants us to come to terms with our needs and the consequences we must face when we deny them. Make clear what you are able to commit to, and what you are not willing to and today’s astro will be productive, even if a little bit of a downer. Hearts tend to be a little heavy with this influence. Take care of yours by giving yourself the compassionate understanding you crave.

Mercury conjunct Neptune in Pisces at 15°

Mercury conjunct Neptune is no walk in the park, at least not one that will end up getting you anywhere. But that’s not this combination’s concern. Mercury and Neptune together get high on ideals, reality be damned. This is not good astrology to make definitive plans under, if at all avoidable, but as we all know, life waits for no astrology. Do what you can to listen to, and act on, the doubts that whisper in your ear, double check details and get second and twenty second opinions when possible.

Mercury not only conjuncts Neptune today, but it also enters its pre-retrograde shadow period. This means that it will station retrograde on March 5th and travel all the way back here, where it stations direct on March 28th. Conjunct Neptune. It will be a wild retrograde to be sure, but for now we can focus on the fact that what happens today and from here on out will be returned to, reviewed, reworked, returned to sender. There’s no getting out of the more nuanced and messy communication issues we come across, just a long swim up and down stream with them.

Sun enters Pisces

Welcome to Pisces Season. With the sun in the transcendent waters of the fishes, and Mars slumbering away in Taurus, the season starts off slowly. It’s a good time to tap into your dreams, intuitions, physical needs and emotional ones. The full moon lights up the skies tomorrow and the swell of emotions might be swirling today, so keep it simple with what feels overly complicated.

Your new moon horoscopes are meant to be read as inspiration. If you know both your rising sign and sun sign, please read both horoscopes. They both contain important information. You’ll know which resonates more for you from week to week. Take what works for you, leave the rest. If you want to share this work, you must quote it and link it to this post and website. Thank you for your support and for spreading the work around. We really appreciate it and you!

Aries & Aries Rising

Aligning myself with the people, places, and actions that bring me closer to my dreams is my main priority. There are a million distractions, doubts, and fears to get caught up in daily. There are a million ways in which I have been taught to devalue my vision, to denigrate it, to convince myself that I am not the answer to it as much as it is to me. But my destiny is to be met on a two-way street.

It needs me to make room for it every day. Aligning myself with what I most want to manifest is something I have to consciously do. Repeatedly. Daily. Enthusiastically if possible. Honestly, always.

If I am being truthful, when unchecked I will tend to grasp for what might make my ego momentarily happy. A place. A thing. A person. An idea of success, love, or acceptance. But unless achieved in a way that deepens my connection to myself, my loves, my life, and my world, nothing will satisfy my soul’s desire to do good work with good people.

I want to know what it means to feel aligned with my life’s purpose so deeply that I never refuse the challenges, victories and defeats along the way. I don’t waste my time chasing fool’s gold. I want the glimmer to be inner, first and foremost.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

No dream is too big if it’s mine to live out. The dreams that are unreasonably persistent, pestering me constantly, refusing to let me rest, are part of a divine plan I have no right to refuse. My talents will never fail me if I am committed to developing them in service of something greater than my own self-interest. Not one of my professional goals is too outlandish to achieve if I am willing to do the inner and outer work necessary to see them succeed.

As long as my professional pursuits are connected to my inner work they will have depth, meaning, and be an intricate part of my life’s purpose. As long as I am developing a deeper relationship to my talents, their needs, and the ways in which they want to be manifested in the world, I can trust in my pursuit of them. As long as I am given the opportunity to pursue the public roles I most wish to fulfill, I will do so with everything I’ve been given. To refuse my dreams is to refuse the best, and most unruly parts of me. Pursuing my purpose should and will upend some part my life. It will stretch my soul. Walk me right into my doubts. Gather my fears and serve them to me on a platter. It is then my precious duty to push them aside, put them in perspective, or put them to work, because I have committed to my professional pursuits and nothing will dissuade me from them.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

I give myself the gift of honesty. I am clear about what I want. I mince no words with myself. I hold nothing back about the details of where I hope to go, what I aim to experience along the way, and what I am dedicated to serving come clear skies or grey. I take my goals seriously but know that achieving them requires a sense of humor. An appreciation for irony. A love of mythology.

This is my story and I’m sticking with the plot lines that have me cast as the heroine.

With this new moon I make plans for my future without shame for how big they are, how far from my current reality they may seem, and without devaluing my ability to make them a reality. I am certain that 6 months from now I will have made major headway, been able to experience the benefits of my efforts, and have grown into the challenges I set for myself. With that in mind I pick the goals that will demand from me a bigger heart, a broader consciousness, and a deeper commitment to what rings true for me. Choosing the right goals for this moment immediately brings me half of the success I seek.

Cancer & Cancer Rising

The success of my collaborations depend on my ability to parse out my true desires from my lowered expectations. I make sure that I uproot, interrogate, and thoroughly understand the doubts that lie in wait for me when I am poised to make progress. I work with this new moon to consciously and courageously receive what I need. In my daily life, I allow more love in, more support to surround me, and more encouragement to uplift me. I let none of it go unacknowledged.

It’s OK if initially I feel undeserving of gifts that come my way. I quickly counter self-defeating sentiments with a compassionate interrogation of the facts. Who says I am unworthy, undeserving, or incapable of working towards my dreams? Anytime I come up against a thought or feeling that discourages my best efforts, I know that I have made contact with something intrinsic to my journey. The more I understand what gets in my way, the easier it is to move around it, heal it, or work through it.

This new moon is my invitation to heal the parts of my confidence that might have been broken, trampled, or demolished by life’s circumstances. I always have the option to believe in my ability, right, and desire to heal.

Leo & Leo Rising

With this new moon I remind myself that all great things require partnership. I seek mine selectively.

With this new moon I recenter myself in the partnerships that already receive me. The people that show me appreciation whether I am winning or wandering around. Those that want to know my heart because there’s some part of it that matches their own. Those that know how to listen to me with loving, determined, and inquisitive attention.

With this new moon, I pause to honor the loves in my life that challenge me compassionately and unapologetically. Those that know how to humor me when my pride has been hurt. Those that know how much I love applause and need it when there’s been too much silence in the face of my sincere efforts. Those who know how to see me over time instead of holding me to only this moment. Those that can stretch their view from what I was to what I could become.

Those that teach me how to be a better lover, learner, beginner, and participant have my full, undivided, totally devoted attention, admiration, and unyielding partnership.

With this new moon I call more of the same in, and honor all the ways in which it already exists. The more I celebrate it, the more room I make for it.

Virgo & Virgo Rising

I find every avenue possible to love the labor. As much as I take advantage of rest. As much as I honor my downtime. As much as I revel in my free-time, to the best of my ability I find things to adore about my work.

If I want bounty to come from my efforts, I have to make peace with the practice that goes into creating it. The secret to my success is loving the process, not just the performance.

I leave room for opportunity. I remember not to get too rigid in how I think my work or efforts will be received, what they will amount to, or where they will go. I work in ways that help to regenerate my creative energy. I work in ways that keep me focus on the reasons that I do what I do. To the best of my ability, I clear out what leaves me feeling cluttered, muddled, or confused about my direction. I am here to work towards what will bring the most joy and healing to the most people, places, and causes.

Libra & Libra Rising

My joy is a gateway to all great things that wish to enter my life. With this new moon I remember to make my joy a centerpiece of my days, weeks, years, and life. The new moon reminds me of the healing power of pleasure seeking. I give myself permission to have fun. I know how to tune into the work that is mine to do and tune into the joy that is mine to feel, express, and share with the world.

My joy is sacred and needs my commitment to it. Creativity flows with a much greater ease when I’ve allowed a little laughter to clear my system. With this new moon I remind myself that waiting for the right time is not an option. Waiting for the work to be done is no way to live. Waiting for the stress to lessen may never happen. All I have is the option to find a little love, a little play, a little light every day. It doesn’t detract from the depth of my feelings. It doesn’t negate the heavy history I carry. It doesn’t devalue the struggle that I am in for myself, my communities, and this world.

To actively make space for joy is to respect what is difficult. Without levity, I lose sight of the power of this fight. Without joy I forget why I want to make the effort to right a wrong, heal a hurt, or win with my dignity in tact.

Scorpio & Scorpio Rising

I clear space for myself. I make home for myself. Wherever I am in the world, I make peace with myself. Life on earth is unruly. The world’s hurt is nonsensical. We exist amongst a million messes. This mayhem isn’t something that I will let myself become trapped in.

I am in this world. I do all I can to serve the beauty of this world. I do all I can to uphold the reasons we must work to heal this world. But I never forget that I am not defined solely by this world. To know its ugliness, its hate, its vitriol is to know when it has seeped into me. To know this world is to know what I must refuse of it. To know this word is to know what I will always embrace from it. To know myself is to know the difference between what the world tells me and what is true.

With this new moon I build a nest in my name. A home where I can reclaim myself. A space where I can take off the chaos and be in my birthright. My blessings need a protective space to thrive within. My body needs space to relax, unfurl, and exhale within. My altars need clearing off, redecorating, and honoring as a reflection of all I am creating. All that I want to bring into being first finds its home in me, so I make sure mine is a place where I can feel free to dream.

Shadow Work – Eclipses

Much of 2019 is asking us to let go of more than we amass. Purging and purifying our systems from the poisons that infiltrate them are a must. At this environmentally, socially, politically precarious moment, every issue we face is more pressing, more daunting, and more complicated. The truths of our situations are multi-faceted and multi-layered. They are personal and political. Collectively, we are coming to consciousness about the abuses of power that we have collectively and individually faced at rates more rapid than ever before. Thanks to social media, conversations that used to take decades to have publicly are now done, seemingly, in an instant. This causes what some experience as division, but the healing process requires us to parse out what the root causes of our pain are. As we collectively unpack the impact of thousands of years of structural inequity, and the traumas and tribulations that result from it, we are faced with the unending task of processing the damage it has done to ourselves and our communities. This process isn’t one that can be sorted through with the same instantaneousness as it is brought up in the digital age. Hearts aren’t timelines. This kind of work takes its own time, but it also takes an unrelenting commitment to the truth and what it calls us to do, and stop doing. The most abhorrent abuses of power are so commonplace that they are hiding in plain site the world, our families, and our lives over. And over. These cycles of abuse must be called out continuously if they are ever to be interrupted, interrogated, and overthrown in our world, and of course, within ourselves. This is a process that calls for much heavy lifting. It takes an incredible effort to bring to light what has laid in the shadows all along. It is necessary work, but so too is the incredible compassion we must have for ourselves along the way.

This year is the first time in many that eclipses will begin to occur in Capricorn. Flanked by Saturn, Pluto, and the south node, these eclipses ask us to release ourselves from the structures, habits, and patterns that keep our systems clogged. Whatever fears have held us captive, stifled our growth, or limited our ability to heal must be made conscious so that they can be dismantled. Unless we want to be energetic hoarders, stockpiling raw sewage of the soul, we are well-served to address, process, and work towards healing the shadow material that these eclipses reveal.

Capricorn is a cardinal, earth sign that manifests, builds structures, and accomplishes through discipline, hard-work, and boundary setting. It’s also a sign that restricts, denies, and withholds. Because eclipses are pattern-setting times, times where we learn lessons specific to the astrology that they highlight, this year’s eclipses will teach us much about our personal integrity, maturity, and self-mastery. If we aren’t responsible for the energy we bring into each situation, we’ll never be the boss of our own lives. With Saturn present and ruling these eclipses, self-mastery is the end goal. With Pluto in the mix, these changes require that we deal with power and the abuses of it. Pluto takes its time but makes sure that the changes it creates are long-lasting in their impact. Occurring at the south node, these eclipses encourage us to release what is in the way of our spiritual growth. Leading us to a greater understanding of the limits of worldly power, south node eclipses point to what needs to be purged if we are ever to overcome the inhibiting impacts of greed.

Capricorn eclipses occur on January 5th (new moon and partial solar eclipse at 15° of Capricorn), July 16th (full moon and partial lunar eclipse at 24° of Capricorn), and December 25th (new moon and annular solar eclipse at 4° of Capricorn) 2019.

There are two eclipses occurring outside of Capricorn’s colosseum in 2019. The first of which happens on January 20th, and is a super moon, full moon and total lunar eclipse. Going out with a bang, this is the last of 5 eclipses in Leo that take place from February 2017 – January 2019. True to Leo form, this dramatic exit helps us to finish up, understand, and integrate the major life-lessons we learned in the area of our chart that contains Leo. This eclipse helps us tap into, and explore, the potency of living out our potential when we allow our unique self-expression to surface and take flight.

The next non-Capricorn eclipse occurs 6-months later, on July 2nd. With this total solar eclipse and new moon in the emotionally charged water sign of Cancer, we are called inward to cultivate a deeper understanding of our emotional intelligence, needs, and nourishment requirements. With the north node also in Cancer, our appetites increase. Cancer feeds the children, rules the stomach, and is ever voracious for emotional intimacy. This is the balance to all the austerity of the eclipses in Capricorn. Capricorn builds the structures, Cancer fills them with the waters of creation.

The Leo eclipse occurs on January 20th (total eclipse, and full moon, super moon at 0° of Leo). The Cancer eclipse occurs on July 2nd (Solar eclipse and new moon occurring at 10° of Cancer).

The Heavy Weights – Saturn and Pluto

With both Saturn and Pluto, the power players of our solar system in Capricorn, the structures of our world that need the greatest transformations could also be the ones that become (or remain) the least open to change. An overemphasis of Saturnian energy, when distorted, promotes regression, repression, and traditionalism. With the rhetoric of fear, exclusion, and domination easily spreadable under these skies, we must work with both our internal and external landscapes in order to implement change. What is poisonous must go through a purging process.

The solution to any external difficulty is, in part, to face the same within the self. It is the place from which we always have access and power. Working to understand, and then disrupt, our internal systems of inequity helps us to do so externally. Getting to know our inner critic well enough to interrupt the self-denial that keeps our souls, and our societies, undernourished is transformation from the inside out. Getting to know our own bitterness, hatred, and despair is one of the most effective ways to heal it internally, and address and interrupt it out in the world.

Since Saturn rules Capricorn, the themes of it are amplified while it transits through its home sign. Pluto brings with it extremes. Birth, death, and transformation are just an appetizer for this Underlord. Catharsis doesn’t come cheap, and Pluto is always willing to point out the price for such a journey.

The Seeker – Jupiter

Jupiter’s entrance and transit through Sagittarius from November 8, 2018 – December 2, 2019 is a markedly different tone from that of the cornucopia of Capricorn happenings. Here, Jupiter seeks to helps us expand our world view, open our options, and magnify the possibilities for all. Running on excess is a theme with this combination, but as previously stated, a large portion of the skies is heavily opposing such behavior.

Jupiter in one if its home signs can help us make huge strides in our life and world, however. What is helpful in doing so is focusing on the area of your chart that contains Sagittarius (written about in your horoscopes below and here). This much needed expansive energy should be worked with wisely. We don’t have endless options in a finite world, but we do have unlimited potential to find solutions to the very real issues we face. Working within the boundaries of our lives helps us access the power of the present, the tools we have, and the wisdom we have gleaned from all our work thus far.

The Game-Changer  – Uranus

As Uranus finishes up the last of its transit through Aries (November 2018 to March 2019) and re-enters Taurus, to stay for good until 2026, we are asked to revolutionize how we relate to our resources. Written about below, in your individual horoscopes, and here in a much more in-depth post, Uranus in Taurus shifts the ground we often take for granted as solid and in the process shifts our priorities in regards to what we work towards building.

With so many major planetary transits occurring in earth signs this year, we know that how we work, what we build, what we consider a resource, and what we will end up understanding as essential to our ability to live on this earth, will change greatly as well as teach us the most.

We know that, outside of alternative facts about our climate and environmental conditions, living within the boundaries of the natural world is essential to being allowed to exist here. We are of the earth. We live an d die by its health and well-being. Far from owners of it, if lucky, we will realize our relationship to and dependence on it.

*Your 2019 horoscopes are meant to be read as inspiration. If you know both your rising sign and sun sign, please read both horoscopes. They both contain important information. You’ll know which resonates more for you from week to week. Take what works for you, leave the rest. If you want to share this work you must quote it and link it to this post and website. Aries & Aries Rising

As Saturn, Pluto, the south node and three eclipses activate your 10th house of career, 2019 continues to up the anti in all your public and professional roles. You are being asked to build your resume with what you want to be known for. Consider what it means to take responsibility for doing more of whatever makes you feel boss in the best of ways. Keep developing the structures that are sturdy, and roomy, enough for the transformations you are undertaking. Change is a constant in every aspect of life, but 2019 asks you to let go of what doesn’t work for you in your professional sphere. Like muscle memory, every time you refuse to compare yourself to someone else, or some false “age-appropriate” goal, the more familiar you are accessing and working with your creative energy.

With the first of three eclipses in your 10th house of public and professional roles on January 5th, the beginning of the year is the perfect time to dedicate your energy to identifying, and then committing to outgrow, the fears you have of failure and success. Work with this eclipse to remove your hesitations and encourage yourself to take a leap of faith in your ability to show up and figure out a way forward. Stay focused on the carefully selected professional goals you most wish to accomplish, and let go of the rest. Parsing your professional life down to its core, essential components is key to your success at the moment.

Two weeks later, on January 20th, the total lunar eclipse in Leo activates your 5th house of creative self-expression. This eclipse highlights the healing and work that you have accomplished in this area of your life over the past two years. Creative projects get an important boost of attention and applause.

The north node and this summer’s total solar eclipse increase your appetite for the opposite; a cozy home and connections that feel familial, safe, and nourishing. 2019 asks for balance. Releasing what doesn’t work for you professionally is actually part of what helps you feel more at home. The less you have to fake it to make it, the more energy you’ll have to settle in and show up as yourself.

From November 2018 through to December 2019, Jupiter expands your opportunity for travel, teaching, researching, and having a wild love-affair with information that inspires you. Watch for books to fall from shelves, long-term plans to roll out with greater ease, and travel pamphlets that catch your eye. It’s not that you want to (or can) take up every adventure on its offer; it’s about remembering that you are never too old, too stuck, or too far gone to begin again.

As Uranus finishes up its transit through your sign (not to return for another 84 years), the first couple of months of 2019 (January to March) mark the end of a very long adventure in personal rebellion. The planet of upheaval and breakthroughs has spent the last 7 years making sure life is anything but predictable. The changes you have made over these years hopefully liberated you from any false notion of needing to fit in or follow a trajectory not made for you. As Uranus (re)enters your 2nd house of assets, resources, and income in March, it continues to awaken you to innovate ways of doing business. Because it stays here until 2026, this is a long process, but one that will continue to help you liberate any outdated notions of how to make a buck or be defined by one.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

On January 5th, the first eclipse of the year activates your 9th house of long-term plans, travel, teaching, and the general philosophy of what guides you. Because Saturn, Pluto, the south node and two more eclipses (in July and December) also take place in this area of your chart, all of 2019 asks you to get better acquainted with the fear stands in the way of moving towards your goals. What phobias divert your energy, dissuading you from making a concerted effort towards reaching you goals? Internal conflicts become more real, tangible, and concrete which is helpful if you want to address them. A nightmare if you want to evade them.

2019 begins with an eclipse on January 5th that encourages you to take responsibility for your dreams, and the learning process you are in when trying to achieve them. Here, you bump into out-dated, possibly conservative, philosophies about achieving happiness and well-being. Learn to interrogate them. Dismantling the beliefs that impede your connection to the truth is essential for each and every eclipse season of 2019. With Uranus entering your sign in March and staying for a solid 7 years, you have less and less attachment to traditionally set out norms. This personal revolution that is taking place inside and outside of you demands a greater honesty from you and, as a result, will bring you a greater connection to yourself. When you are willing to give up anything that rings as false, moving towards what you want happens with much greater ease.

The second eclipse of 2019 is a total lunar eclipse on January 20th that puts the finishing touches on your home decor, living space, and connection to home and family life. Over the past 2 years this area of your life has been under major reconstruction. This eclipse is the last of its kind for a long while, marking your efforts to establish a deeper connection with this part of your life.

The north node and July’s total solar eclipse increases your need to write, teach, and articulate yourself. Any projects that you are in the midst of help you define your understanding of yourself, your work, and your purpose. This eclipse helps you grow your readership, audience, and contacts for future projects.

From November 2018 through to December 2019, Jupiter expands the possibilities of your collaborations. This transit teaches you much about growth in the right conditions or excessive disappointments in ill-fitting ones. Never deny your intuition when it tells you which is which. Your opportunities for merging your time, energy, and talents with others is increasingly more abundant, but not every situation will be able to grow with you. Never partner out of pity or fear of scarcity, but do join forces with others out of a mutual interest in healing, growth, and creative adventures.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

Much of the astrology of 2019 lands in the areas of your chart that require you to go the deepest. Clearing out old, psychic, and emotional debris will become a past time of yours that you master by 2020.

On January 5th, the first eclipse of the year initiates your 8th house of collaborations and all the emotions that come with sharing your time, energy and talent. What is a fair trade for you comes under great inspection this year. Reviewing the quality of your exchanges reveals the deeper patterns of self-worth, self-acceptance, and self-sabotage that exist within you. What do you give away against your better judgment? What do you refuse that you actually need to learn to receive? Becoming a better listener to your fears can help you to forgo many a bad deal. The more you are able to address your worries and concerns about being betrayed, abandoned, and being taken advantage of, the clearer you can see what is a threat and what wants to treat you right.

The second eclipse of 2019, on January 20th, lights up your 3rd house of communications and daily schedules. This is the last in a series of eclipses here that have helped you to speak your mind, reset the rituals that treat you right, and begin some of the more important communication projects in recent history. You are a communicator, but what these two years have taught you has helped you go deeper than you have before. Risking your reputation to tell the truth sets you free, even if it sets some folks on edge.

Come July 2nd, the total solar eclipse and north node in Cancer continue to give you good reason to get to work. Money, assets, and resources want to find their way to you. The more you nurture, care for them, and use them to create more nourishment in your life, the more effortlessly they flourish. You’re in touch with great earning potential, put it to use in ways that feel soulfully centered for you.

From November 2018 through to December 2019, Jupiter is busy expanding the possibilities between you and your committed partnerships. Whether in business, love, or both, your unions receive many blessings. Choose your partners with great care, however. Your needs aren’t negotiable. You are more than likely to get a more than normal amount of attention right now and you are allowed to be as precise as necessary in all aspects of your partnering.

As Uranus finishes up its transit through your 11th house of friends, groups, and communities, your work within them continues to be game-changing. The last 7 years have taught you much about the revolutionary nature of being in, and working with the communities that call to you. What you change with and for the group changes within and for you. As Uranus enters your 12th house come March 2019, it shifts focus in a fairly drastic way. Here until 2026, Uranus works to shake up your inner life and relationship to it. Secrets, losses, and old griefs get awakened, but also cleared. The psychic space you clear makes way for incredible creative energy. Don’t rush the work, but do work on trusting its process.

Cancer & Cancer Rising

As Saturn, Pluto, the south node and three eclipses activate your 7th house of committed partnerships, 2019 emphasizes the importance of being crystal clear in your contracts, negotiations, and agreements with others. The first eclipse of the year on January 5th, amplifies these themes. It asks you to look more deeply into the structures of your committed partnerships, why you enter into them, why you stay, and why you might deny yourself what you have, not only the right, but the ability to receive.

It’s hard to find a fit for our emotional, creative, and intellectual needs when we don’t believe that we deserve them. It’s even harder to state our needs if we are too afraid of being abandoned. This year, the more you make your fears of intimacy and abandonment conscious, the more you’ll be able to feel deserving of relationships that honor your boundaries and inspire the best from you. You are worthy of having the kinds of connections you crave. The more self-respect you cultivate, the easier you’ll be able to say good-bye to agreements that don’t offer the same. In 2019, move towards the kinds of partnerships that are roomy enough for transformations and strong enough to hold the experience of them. You can’t expect others to show up for what they are ill-equip to handle. Find the partners that can go the distance and enjoy doing so.

The second eclipse of 2019 comes on January 20th. It is a total lunar eclipse that highlights the dramatic changes you have made to your relationship with your resources, money, assets, and livelihood. Whatever personal potential you have been able to activate and cash in on over the course of the past 2 years is celebrated by this moon. Invest your energetic and financial earnings back into your well-being and financial future.

The north node, and this summer’s total solar eclipse in Cancer, amplify your desires to achieve your personal best. While the eclipses in Capricorn ask you to heal the wounds found in relationships, the Cancer eclipse amplifies your personal drive, power, and ability to get ahead. This concoction can encourage mass consumption over quality, however. Make sure that the things you reach for are soulfully satisfying, not just ego-intoxicating.

From November 2018 through to December 2019, Jupiter expands the possibilities of your work projects. What you create here is amplified, exaggerated, and given a lift. The work-projects you have on the go now are more than likely to inspire growth in a multitude of directions making over-whelm a monster to contend with. Being discerning about what seeds you plant professionally will make all the difference when harvest season comes calling.

Uranus finishes up its transit through your 10th house of career come March 2019, wrapping up your 7 year professional..
