THERE ARE NO WORDS when I try to express my love for this fam or the joy it is to be in Gray’s life. A year ago I was rushing to the hospital to meet him/take their first family photos (lol sorry Gray, get used to it) and somehow the last 365 days have been the fastest of my life. Forgive me for sounding like a mom but WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE?!??!!
Honestly when I think about the last year of *my* life, one of the sweetest blessings has been the joy this baby has brought to it. <3 Seeing Gray’s personality come out more and more (omg have I mentioned I’m obsessed?) has brightened my day more times than I can say. When Anna texts me a photo of Gray I DROP EVERYTHING to stare/force everyone around to gawk at his cuteness with me/proceed to save said photo to my phone because I can’t get enough. (Am I creepy or cute? Some days even I don’t know…)
One moment I’m like *OMG I can’t wait till the day he talks!!!* and the next moment I’m like *STOP GROWING, STAY LITTLE!!* But one thing’s for sure… Gray Bear, you have quickly become one of my very favorite people on this planet and I feel like the luckiest to watch you grow. <3
I’m so excited to share this lifestyle session, freezing moments in one of my favorite homes <3 (SIGN ME UP FOR LIFE PLEASE!!)
They met by chance in college during a freak snow storm… in October. Both snowed in, with the campus deserted and no where to go… they ended up seeking shelter at a friend’s place. And that night is where their paths crossed.
From the moment they met, they just clicked. And it wasn’t long before they found themselves planning their lives around each other. Navigating new jobs, cities, and responsibilities… they’ve supported each other through each adventure together.
Their love is one that challenges and pushes each other out of their comfort zone, yet simultaneously utterly embraces exactly who each other are. <3 So it’s no surprise that when Brian proposed in their favorite spot in the city, Washington Square, Caitlin said YES to a lifetime by his side.
Brian & Caitlin! I’m so honored to be your wedding photographer and already am counting down to October when we get to celebrate your beautiful Philadelphia wedding day at Museum of The American Revolution! For now, enjoy a few of my favorites from your engagement session! Xo
In seeing some of my closest friends experience parenthood, I get to watch firsthand all the joy and also the responsibility that comes with it. It’s no walk in the park (by any means), yet it feels like something so sacred.
When I see my friends Jordan & Svetlana intentionally care for and raise their girls, Anastasia and Isabella, I see a better picture into what my parents sacrificed for me. <3 And while I’m sure not every moment of every day looks like this, there are moments of pure magic sprinkled in day to day… if you just look for them! And it’s my greatest hope that through photography, I can freeze exactly that. So that one day when Anastasia and Isabella are grown, they can look back and see just the kind of people they were raised by… and the love that surrounded them from the start.
I loveeee this family and spending a Saturday morning capturing them in their element had me MELTING ON THE JOB. But let’s be real, I was melting from the moment they answered the door with Annie there saying “Caroline hold me.” DONE. Grateful for friends like these!! <3
CAN’T EXPRESS how much of a Logan & Cara fan I really am. <3 They’re some of the most kind-hearted people you’ll ever meet… like… taking pictures in the freeeeeezing cold but never complaining ONCE. Every time I asked Cara (through my chattering teeth) if she was holding up ok (wearing a sleeveless dress in 35 degrees, mind you) she’d say “It’s honestly not that bad!!” WOW. <3
It’s Logan & Cara and their upbeat, joyful spirits that make my job SO FUN and I honestly couldn’t be more thankful to have been their wedding photographer. I feel like the luckiest. Celebrating their marriage and being a part of this season of their lives has been such an honor.
Logan & Cara, thank you for trusting me with your memories, practically getting frostbite for the sake of dreamy portraits, and just being the best people to tag along with! Your day was one full of sweet moments *I* won’t forget and my hope is that through these images, you’ll always be able to remember the start of your journey as husband and wife and hold on to the memories. <3
Enjoy a few of my favorites from this beautiful Cork Factory wedding full of so much love and be sure to read more of Logan & Cara’s love story here! Xo
It’s January 23rd and I’m still not done feeling those *New Years Eve reflections* because, as I look back on my 2018 wedding season, my heart ACTUALLY feels warm. (Which is a good thing because the temperature’s been in the teens this week…)
This job has endlessly grown me, blessed me, and pushed me in ways that I never could have expected. It’s crazy how one decision (in my case, saying yes to shooting my piano teacher’s wedding at age fourteen) can change the course of your life. I see God’s hand so clearly in it all!
Writing a behind the scenes blog post has become one of my favorite traditions… I get lost looking back over 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 (take a walk down memory lane if you please) and though these posts are silly and a *little* self-deprecating they’re also so close to my heart.
Gotta say, I have THE BEST couples in the world that trust me completely, go to the greatest lengths for the sake of beautiful portraits, and just have the sunniest attitudes through anything and for that I’ll never be able to express how lucky I feel.
With that being said! I say this every year, but if you’re somehow under the impression a photographer’s life is as *glam* as it may seem from a pretty little IG feed, here’s hoping this BTS post serves as a little myth-buster for your sweet wondering heart…
Forever grateful I get to have my best friend by my side as my full time second shooter/right hand on wedding days (ok let’s be real… right hand *always). She somehow manages to stay three steps ahead of me at all times, reads my mind from across a room, and spoils me by *literally* running ahead of me sometimes to grab my camera bag and carry it before I have a chance to get to it myself (#blessed). EVERYONE LOVES VANESSA and without getting too sappy, having her with me in this is one of my greatest gifts. <3
She somehow manages to capture images that make me jealous *I* didn’t take them myself… and of course captures my best (read: worst) angles and behind the scenes moments, too. But don’t be fooled. We take the many facets of the job description seriously. And since I’m a wedding photographer after all, let’s kick things off with four vows I make to you, on your wedding day…
1. I vow to be in tune with your eating schedule and always serve you gourmet hor d’oeuvres in the times you need it most.2. I vow to be your official secret service escort (with a walkie talkie to prove it).3. I vow that in booking me, I’ll double as your dance floor mop, dutifully wiping up any drink spills. (My new business slogan?)4. And finally, I vow to be your bonus bridesmaid. <3It’s the end of wedding season and I’m still confused why no one stands up to cheer when *I* make my grande reception entrance?… That’s ok. I get it, wedding guests are a tough crowd. At least THIS first look is going to warrant a good reaction when he turns around to find… me.“You guys mind if I squeeze under there too?” “Seriously PLEASE. It’s cold out here.”See that mischievous face? It’s contemplating eating the macarons before the workshop attendees even arrive…I love these days where I get to teach everything I know about business/photography (aaand publicly cringe when I share my very first website)…Seconds after my cousin, Cherish, admitted to eating all my leftover Chipotle catering. Not cool.At the workshop, we pull off a styled shoot for attendees to have the opportunity to watch me interact with/pose/photograph a couple, practice their skills, and build their portfolio. Basically the best of times.Really wish I were more expressive while teaching. #2019goalsDid I mention I’m hosting a TWO DAY spring workshop?!?! Email me for more details and exclusive early registration! : email@example.comDid I carry these bouquets to the reception as instructed or straight to the trunk of my car to go home with me? I’ll never tell.Me in my natural habitat.UGH no one gave me the long navy dress memo?!??While we’re on the topic of fashion, I feel like it’s my civic duty to tell you HOW MUCH I LOVE DR. SCHOLL’S (my summer faves found here & winter faves found here). Oh and while we’re here… the dress is Lulu Lemon (last season, don’t h8 me) but there’s more of my wedding day essentials waiting for you here in this blog post!
December 1st marked the last wedding of my 2018 wedding season and I can’t imagine a better way to end it than celebrating with William & Jeanne. From the moment the day began, Jeanne was teary-eyed and full of joy to be marrying her best friend. Her emotions were so telling of the immense love she has for Will *and* for both their families. <3
But the emotions didn’t just stop with Jeanne. Will’s eyes filled with tears as he turned to see Jeanne at their first look and it might have been one of my favorite first looks everrrr.
William & Jeanne, wow I can’t say enough how much I loved documenting this day for you and your families. Your joy brought ME joy and your trust and appreciation throughout the whole process has meant the world. <3 Thank you from the bottom of my heart! It has been such an honor to be your wedding photographer! And that’s an understatement. :)

It was a day A DECADE in the making since they first met and ever since they chose me as their wedding photographer, I’ve been counting down to their wedding day riiiight along with them. <3
It really was the dream day we’d all been anticipating all along! Shane & Heather planned their day perfectly, as a team, and that was my favorite part of all! And because of all the heart they poured into it, they intentionally soaked in each moment. Together. <3
I’m sooo excited to share this stunning Excelsior wedding but first, I just have to thank Shane & Heather once again for their trust in me as their wedding photographer! SUCH a privilege.
Enjoy a few of my favorites from this beautiful wedding full of so much love and be sure to read more of Shane & Heather’s love story here! Xo
It was a random night in November of 2012 that their paths crossed. What started as a simple conversation as strangers, small talking about a painting of farmers that was hanging on the wall where they were, quickly turned as they realized the many commonalities they shared. Neighboring hometowns, the same age, both born in February… it felt like fate. They talked for hours and hours that night and somewhere along the way the hours became years…
Flash forward six years later and as they were on their annual fall trip to Johnson’s Farm, out in the fields picking broccoli and popcorn, Alec asked one of the farmhands to take a picture of them. Just then, Alec got down on one knee, pulled the most perfect ring out of his pocket, and told Chelsea he wanted to be with her forever! It was an easy yes. :)
Alec & Chelsea! Sooo honored to be your wedding photographer and already counting down to next November when we get to celebrate your beautiful day at The Farm at Eagles Ridge! For now, enjoy a few of my favorites from your engagement session! Xo
Two and a half years ago, I shot Prentice’s older sister’s wedding. Celebrating such a milestone then alongside the Butterworth family was a true honor. Their relationships are close-knit, special, and one of a kind which made it a forever favorite wedding for me. <3
Fast forward to 2018 and it’s the honor of a career to have not just photograph Erica’s wedding… but now Prentice’s as well. Capturing a family’s legacy is why I do what I do and so of course being welcomed back into the Butterworth’s lives made me meltttt and was a true career honor!
Alex & Pren have known each other since elementary school, are high school sweethearts, and are just the kind of couple you look at and know are meant to be together. They’ve loved each other from the start and having them in front of my camera was EASY.
And as you can imagine, this day was a celebration of two amazing people who deserve it all and have built a beautiful relationship, putting each other first… and a day where they could FINALLY call each other husband and wife. <3
Enjoy a few of my favorites from this Excelsior stunner with a dream vendor team!! Xo
You know those shoots that are like reaaaally special that you can’t find the right words??? Yeah that’s me right now.
Kristen and I somehow crossed paths a few years ago. It’s funny, we haven’t even known each other for *that* long, but I don’t really remember a time where she wasn’t in my life?!? <3
You may know her as the outrageously talented hair & makeup artist that she is (my go-to for everything because she’s just the best there is <3) but getting to know Kristen better over the last few years has been such a gift to my life. I now consider her a dear friend, a mentor, and just an incredibly wise and generous person who I so greatly admire (I’m always thinking omg tell me how I can be just like you please).
What I loved about this shoot was that from the beginning, her goal was to make it so much more than *just* taking pictures. Her love for Joe was evident in every detail and plan (omg that custom designed dress by R Custom Bridals!!!), wanting to create a special memory of the entire weekend celebrating their anniversary.
After all, they’re fifteen years (& five kids !!!) in… aka a milestone WORTHY OF CELEBRATION.
Since Joe & Kristen didn’t do a first look on their wedding day, I loved that they recreated that moment, just fifteen years later. As Kristen’s eyes instantly filled with tears and Joe literally could not smile any bigger if he tried, you could just see the way they treasure and respect each other so much and what their marriage is built on. It really was such a special session (even for me, haha). And Joe said at the end that he felt the same way he did on their wedding day. <3
It’s the understatement of the century for me to say I was so honored to get to capture this milestone for Joe & Kristen. Especiallyyy as we were wrapping up the shoot and Kristen asked me to take a photo of Joe holding her “because he’s carried me through so much.” Melt.
Joe & Kristen, your marriage is a light that shines brightly for Jesus to those around you. Also I’ll just go ahead and ask what all of us are wondering: how is it possible for two people to look THIS GOOD fifteen years and five kids later?!??!?!!! Write a book. <3 Love you guys!
