For the past month, every time I step outside my back door I feel immediately transported to the South of France. It’s all thanks to a weeklong trip that Adam and I took to St. Tropez in June six years ago, where we got inspired by our hotel’s endless walls of blooming jasmine vines, then promptly rushed home and planted our own on just about every surface of our backyard. Our efforts paid off, since years later we’re rewarded with lush blooming vines each spring, and the intoxicating fragrance invites us back to that week abroad. I can almost see the ocean and taste the grilled octopus and chilled rosé as though I’m there once again. Isn’t scent the most incredible thing for bringing back memories? Of course it wouldn’t feel like the South of France without gathering a few friends for a long low-key dinner party in the backyard, ...see the slideshow here

I’m obsessed with grilled octopus and whenever I see it on a restaurant menu, I have to order it. But I’d always been a little intimidated to make it at home, until I read my friend Gaby’s recipe for octopus tacos in her genius new cookbook, and decided to try it myself. I couldn’t believe how easy it is! We whipped up this version for a recent dinner party at our house, and it’s going to be on repeat all summer. Horseback riding by day and stargazing by night, nothing feeds the soul quite like an escape to the desert. What it might lack in ocean breezes and sandy beaches, it makes up for in hot springs, uninterrupted panorama, and nary a cell tower in sight. This summer, home on the range is exactly what the doctor ordered, and these 10 destinations are at the very top of our bucket list. photo by veda house ...see the slideshow here

Lauren Zielinski is a Certified Nurse-Midwife, and the founder of a grassroots women’s health movement called New Moon Rising Events. New Moon Rising works in cities across the US to hold free, day-long workshops that foster discussion about reproductive health, political advocacy, natural medicine options, and community connections.  Chances are you’ve probably heard of at least one – if not both – of these fairly common female reproductive health disorders. Maybe one of your co-workers, sisters, or a friend of a friend has dealt with crippling cramps, long term infertility, or a slew of laparoscopic diagnostic procedures. It can all sound just a tad bit confusing if you’re not a medical professional. How do I know if I actually have this? Will it impact me long term? Should I be worried about any of this? Questions like this are not uncommon! Nor is feeling like every time you read about a ...see the slideshow here

Alexia Brown and Drew Genitempo are undeniably gorgeous and cool. She, with big blue eyes peering out from under thick bangs. And he, with the perfectly nonchalant bun to match an understated denim shirt. They’re exactly the kind of couple it’s tempting to hate — that is until you hang out with them. Alexia and Drew are some of the nicest, most down-to-earth people we’ve ever featured in this series. And they’re every bit as cool as they look. She owns the online shop Byron and Blue where she curates and sells beautiful home objects. He’s a social media strategist and has a slew of useful hobbies including baking bread, which came in very handy for this party. Oh, and he brewed the cherry lime ale, too. Read on to see how this sweet couple entertains in their East Austin backyard, and remember — just try not to hate them for being ...see the slideshow here

Back when I studied abroad in London during one of my semesters at UT, I found myself with an internship at one of the best Indian restaurants in the city. (If you ever find yourself in London, make your way over to Dishoom for some seriously good food – the black daal and garlic naan is a must!) While getting to see what goes into a restaurant launch and being right in the hustle of a Friday night restaurant shift were such amazing experiences, getting to eat my way through the entire Dishoom menu during my three months in London was even better. Most evenings after working at the restaurant office, I would grab a to-go container of veggie biryani for dinner — which was a total lifesaver from my dorm kitchenette. It’s no surprise that there’s a major difference between the Indian food that you get at restaurants and ...see the slideshow here
