Customer Sue has an amazing story to tell. Feeling uncomfortable in her own skin, she knew she had to take control and lose weight. After finding New You, she’s lost 5 stone, has taken up pole and has seen her health drastically improve. Here’s what she had to say…

Sue, describe how you felt before you started the plan?

I felt miserable and old fashioned. I could only shop in a few places and wore everything that stretched. Clothes were just a nightmare to find and I didn’t want to do anything with anyone because I was just so unfit and got out of breath so easily. Being bigger makes you feel very alone sometimes.

How did you discover The New You Plan?

I knew, for me, that meal replacement was the way to go. I had become an emotional wreck reaching for the nearest carb satisfaction button. I could work and eat, but that was all I did. Going out revolved around where to eat, and the day was planned around meals. I had to stop. I searched Facebook and Google and New You reached out to me as a very comprehensive set of products supported by lots of information and help.

How has the plan changed your life?

I feel as though I have had a second chance to love me for me again. I just wish I had done it sooner rather than feeding the frustration with food. I focus on me and not eating, I pamper myself and started to exercise for the first time in nearly 10 years. I feel amazing.

How has your health improved?

I can now attend daily exercise classes, whether toning, aerobics or pilates. I walk as much as possible and stairs are just a breeze. My blood pressure has reduced and my body fat percentage has reduced massively. What has changed the most is my mental health. You really can’t underestimate how much the support New You gives you to change how much you love you. The online group makes you realise that you are not the only one who has struggled and the motivation is exceptional.

What was your biggest motivator in staying on track?

I broke down my goals into mini ones. I bought charts recommended by other members of the group, and collected tokens, coins, awards; you name it. However, the biggest motivator was posting every so often my progress and getting a wave of emotion from others that I was doing more than OK. Nothing prepares you for that level of support. You get blown away!

What’s your biggest non-scale victory?

I have been learning how to do aerial exercise; hoop, pole and handstands. Not only do I find myself no longer fretting about my legs in shorts, but I am stronger than I have ever been. I changed my look, hair and started to have my nails and lashes done to keep me looking at my best. Not focusing on food every minute of every day gives you a life back to enjoy.

Since losing weight, what is your happiest memory?

Seeing my sister after a long 8 months and she didn’t know I had been losing weight. She was so happy for me, and was so proud. That meant the world to me because I love her opinion.

What is the nicest compliment you’ve received since losing weight?

That I look significantly younger. Being 48 comes with aches and stiffness, but I bounce out of bed now, rather than just feeling like I don’t even want to get up. Fat ages you on the outside and inside. The vitamins and minerals in the packs, along with lots and lots of water really does your body a lot of good.

What are your favourite New You meals and snacks?

Without doubt, Spicy Noodle Nosh. Love it! Runners up would be Hazelnut Shake and Chicken Soup. I travel 3-4 days a week for my job and the bars have been a lifesaver.

What advice would you offer anyone thinking of starting the plan?

Go for it – all you have to lose is weight and emotional baggage. Don’t leave it too late that it becomes a regret. Life is too short, and don’t be too hard on yourself; if you’ve had a difficult day or week, well you can’t undo it, just KEEP MOVING FORWARD.

Tired of wearing baggy clothes? Fed up hiding in doors? Are you the one who always takes the photos because you can’t bear to see a photo of yourself? Today, we share why you need to be both physically and mentally uncomfortable about your weight in order to lose it.

We’re sure that the title of today’s blog post will resonate with so many people. When we put on weight, so many of us feel like our body isn’t our own. In our heads we feel the same and our personality hasn’t altered but possessing a body which we aren’t used to get make us feel, well… uncomfortable.

So what do we do? For the majority of our customers, the answer is to hide away. Whether that be physically staying indoors, turning down social invites because we worry what others will think or say, or metaphorically hiding behind layers and layers of baggy clothes. We think that if we add a baggy jumper, we’ll become invisible, and we take comfort in those items of clothing  which hide the real truth and mask the emotions that come with putting on weight and no longer feeling like ourselves.

“Sorry for all the posts just lately, but just wanted to say how positive I feel at the moment! 
I’ve been in a very dark place for quite some time about my weight and how I look (can’t stand even looking at myself in the mirror) I hide myself away and keep myself covered up.
