Today's digitally connected world requires you to be able to share links. No one sends static PDFs anymore. Think about it: When you see a property in AirBnb that your friends would like, you send the link. When you share an interesting article with your friends, you send a link. In the market for a house? You send your significant other or your realtor a link to the properties you like. Your kids want a new game or piece of sporting equipment? More than likely, they'll send you the link to look at it or to order. You get the idea, whether it's a show, a sporting event, a good, a service or a big investment, we live in a world of links.
Anatalio Ubalde, co-founder and co-managing director of GIS Planning, announced today in his presentation at the Las Vegas Opportunity Zone Expo that businesses and site selectors beginning their location searches on ZoomProspector.com, the U.S. national site selection portal can now take advantage of our brand new Federal Opportunity Zone layer.
Strong working relationships between commercial brokers and economic development organization benefit everyone. Unfortunately, in many areas, this kind of mutually beneficial rapport doesn't exist. In our 20 years of work with economic developers, we’ve occasionally come across economic developers who don’t want to list broker contact information in their property database, or who struggle to convince area realtors to list their properties online. In those cases, we’ve worked directly with everyone to help correct misunderstandings and overcome those barriers. We know it isn't always easy but we believe it should always be a priority.

As part of my job, I work with hundreds of economic developers all around the world. I also often work with site selectors who use our tools for research and decision-making. And sometimes the things I hear from the different groups make it feel like very similar conversations happening in two different rooms.
