As wedding photographers, we constantly get asked what our favorite place to shoot would be. And our answer? Somewhere new. We’re obsessed with Washington DC and all that its museums have to offer, so when Jordan & DJ suggested a few places downtown in DC, we couldn’t have been more excited. Unfortunately the night before this session, Kel had discovered an amazing juice business in the downstairs portion of our hotel… and in her juice excitement she tripped up the stairs and gashed her knee open… so I shot this engagement session solo. I’d much rather have my smokeshow of a wife beside me while shooting out of town, but we had a blast anyways. We hustled enough to hit four of my favorite spots in DC: the Library of Congress, the United States Botanic Garden, the National Gallery of Art and the National Portrait Gallery… and it absolutely felt like we were just old friends hanging out. These two gorgeous supermodels are a photographer’s dream. We can’t freaking wait until their Tallahassee wedding because spending time with them doesn’t feel like work at all. Hope you love these photos from their DC engagement session!
We’d never been to Bowling Green, Florida before… and since we’re not the biggest sports fans, we had never heard of Streamsong either. We’re used to seeing some hills since we’re based in Tallahassee, but when you’re in the middle of Florida things are pretty flat. That is, until you come upon Streamsong with its very own ‘Florida Mountains’. This place is unreal, you feel like you’re on a Mars Colony. It’s a wedding venue we instantly fell in love with, because I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s got beautiful modern architecture surrounded by amazing natural character. And speaking of beauty… check out Ashlyn & Hunter. We’ve known Ashlyn for a while now, and someone should really tell her that gorgeous people aren’t supposed to be unbelievably sweet as well. She’s one of the kindest and most thoughtful brides we’ve ever met at a wedding, and she couldn’t have picked a better dress. We hope you’ll take a couple minutes to check out these photos of our dream wedding to shoot: Beautiful people in a beautiful place.
Susan and Max are two of the sweetest people you could ever meet. They had us come down to St. Pete, Florida for their wedding at the Museum of Fine Arts… which instantly became one of our favorite venues. Kel and I wandered around the museum while waiting on the wedding party to arrive, and we stumbled across an amazing exhibit with projectors. We floated the idea to Susan to get a few weirder portraits by using the projectors, and we’re so happy she was down to give it a shot! Their wedding left us feeling so inspired and thankful, not just for our jobs but for the incredible people we meet and the beautiful places we get to visit. We hope you enjoy this little peek into their wedding day!
