Keep your lawn looking lush and green throughout the summer heat with these easy tips!

Summertime is a time for fun, sun and lawn care. In fact, people take great pride in their lawns, but they are especially vigilant during summer. If they don’t pay attention, the summer heat can actually pose a threat to their lawn.
In this article, we will present you with 4 tips to help you keep your lawn alive through the summer heat.
1. Water At The Right Time of the Day
Many people feel that you can water any time of day, and still have a healthy lawn. The fact is, it is quite the contrary. It all has to do with the timing of sunlight.
Photosynthesis needs sunlight to take place. If you water at night, photosynthesis cannot take place and you could introduce lawn disease into the soil.
On the other hand, irrigating your lawn during the heat of the day is no good either. The soil will only absorb a small part of it due to evaporation.
So the best time to water your lawn is in the morning, just before or just as the sun is coming up. The soil can properly absorb all the water you gave it, in time for the sunlight to do the rest, paving the way for optimum photosynthesis.

2. Water For Deep Roots
To have a healthy lawn, you need deep roots. Watering at the right intervals will help you achieve that.
Watering that is too frequent will make your root system shallow. If you want to develop deep roots, give your lawn two or three long soaks per week, and again, in the morning.
This will ensure that, through the brutal summer months when the heat can do plenty of damage, your lawn will be alive and well, with strong roots to boot.

3. Give Your Lawn Some Air
Aerating your lawn – the process of pushing holes at six inch intervals all over your lawn – allows nutrients to get to the roots, helps it absorb water better, making it thick and healthy.
However, aerating is not something that you do like watering your lawn. It’s something that’s done once in early and late spring, and early fall.
Aerating your lawn can be done with a machine, especially if you have a large lawn. However, you can take a garden fork to poke into your lawn at intervals of six inches all over your lawn.
4. Mow At a Higher Height
Many people cut their lawns short so they don’t have to mow as often. This could be damaging to your grass.
If you cut your lawn too short, the roots of the grass are more exposed to the scorching heat, and could dry out fast. Cutting the grass at a higher height will leave the grass blades long, providing more protection for the roots.
We learned that watering 2-3 times a week, with long morning soaks, aerating your lawn and mowing at a higher height will all contribute to a real healthy lawn. We hope that you picked up some good tips that you can use so that your lawn will s
Are you using hard water in your home? Here are some things you need to know. Keep reading!

Depending on where you live, there’s a good chance that the water flowing through your pipes is packed with minerals, which is known as hard water. Such water can have a number of detrimental effects on your health, skin and other areas of your life as well. Besides seeking out water treatment services, you should also know the full scope of the harmful impact mineral-laced water can have on your life.
Your Physical Health
The mineral content of hard water can prove detrimental to your organs if you ingest it. Those who have high blood pressure or heart disease despite dieting and exercising might be able to link their health to drinking and cooking with hard water. There’s also the potential for hard water to lead to reproductive failure, as well as certain types of cancer. None of this is mentioned to scare you, just to give you a firm understanding of just how much harm hard water can do to your body.

Your Skin & Hair
Your skin most certainly won’t look its best if you’re showering or bathing with hard water. Your skin can become dry and flaky from washing and rinsing with hard water, and it can even flare up any skin conditions you might already have, such as eczema. You might also be under the impression that the skin products you use aren’t effective if you have hard water. This is because those products don’t rinse off as well as they should under hard water. Under such circumstances, you’ll want to invest in a water softener to take the best care of your skin.
As for your hair, washing and rinsing with hard water can leave your hair feeling weak and dry, no matter if you use the best shampoos and conditioners. What’s more is your scalp can become dry and itchy. Do you dye your hair? If so, hard water can drain your hair of its color.

Another effect of hard water is harming appliances such as your washer, dishwasher and hot water heater. It’s the sediment that wears away at your appliances, causing them to break down faster than necessary. Also, your plumbing fixtures and pipes can also be harmed by the presence of hard water, and you might have more clogs in your pipes because of the sediment in the water running through those pipes. If you’re in the market for new appliances, do yourself a favor and check to see if you have hot water; otherwise, that new appliance might not last nearly as long as it should.

Your Home’s Energy Efficiency
Those increased energy bills you’ve been getting might be linked to hard water. Over time, the minerals in hard water can start to collect in your hot water heater, breaking down its overall efficiency. That inefficiency can lead to your water heater working harder than it needs to, which results in higher energy bills.
If you don’t know whether you have hard water, have it tested by a professional. Having your water treated could do wonders for multiple areas of your life.
Here are some fun backyard updates that will get your kids playing outside all day long!
Photo: OPal LLC
When you were young and on summer break from school, you probably spent hours riding bikes around the neighborhood with your buddies, hanging out at the local community pool and building forts in your backyard. Now that you’re a parent, you might be dismayed to realize your kids would rather defeat bad guys in video games and text their BFFs on their smartphones than play outside.
If this scenario sounds all too familiar, go take an honest look at your backyard. If it’s not exactly beckoning kiddos to come out and play, it might be time to make some upgrades to entice your children to get off the couch and out into the fresh air. With this in mind, check out the following ideas:
Photo: Via Houzz
Add some Lighting
If the temperatures during the day are simply too hot for the kids to comfortably play outside, then make your backyard safe for nighttime activities by adding lighting. For example, you can purchase strands of globe lights and string them from your patio posts to a tree or two. To keep little ones safe when they are running around in the twilight, install pathway lights to light up walkways and garden areas. Once your yard is more well lit, invite your kiddos to join you for a game of cards or a board game under the stars, or host a nighttime ice cream sundae party at your outside table complete with plenty of gooey toppings and sprinkles.

Spring for a Trampoline
If your kids have been begging you for a trampoline and you are comfortable with the idea, you can make their jumping dreams come true by investing in one. Nationwide offers some helpful tips on the best spot for a trampoline in the yard; for example, find a clear and flat area that is away from clotheslines, fences and trees and place it on a cushioned surface like flat grass or an area that you cover with bark or sand. Review some basic safety rules with your kids and advise them to go easy on the fancy gymnastics moves.
Buy a Bunch of Crafts
If you are hesitant to let your kids go all out with arts and crafts inside the house due to paint and glitter spilling all over, then let them channel their inner artists out at a picnic table. Take them shopping in person or online and let them choose some crafts that they’d like to try; Etsy has a ton of really fun options including the glass magnet kit and the unicorn kit. You could also buy a plain DIY cornhole game and then take your kids to the local craft store to buy paints, stickers and more to decorate the gameboards however they want. Once the cornhole game is completely painted, stickered and sequined, challenge your kids to some friendly competitions.
Photo: Via Houzz
Outdoor Games and Equipment
You can also ask your kids what games and/or equipment would entice them to go outside. If they have asked for a swing set and you have money in the budget, spring for a basic metal one like you might have had when you were younger or a spendier wooden version. Other ideas include a badminton set, chalk paint for creating huge hopscotch boards on the grass and the old fashioned but oh-so-fun slip and slides.
Fortunately, it is probably easier than you think to entice your kids to go outside and play. By investing in some basic lighting and allowing nighttime games, to buying some special outdoor equipment or some basic craft kits, your kids will soon be requesting to go outside, instead of asking if you know what happened to the remote.
Feng Shui can be defined as the art of improving the general outlook of your home or the office, and it is typically a combination of Chinese art, science as well as intuition.
Photos By: Summer Thornton Design, Inc.
This is a decorative work that has gained popularity in China, and it has the ability to improve your view of life by making your interiors appealing thereby triggering positive energy. It not only deals with adding features into your interior space but also gets rid of any unnecessary clatter and downsizes the home in a perfect way that’s guaranteed to leave it more appealing.
Some of the common Feng Shui animal symbols for luck and protection are the Feng Shui Dragon, Foo Dogs, Chin Lin, a tortoise, an elephant, Dzi beads, eyes, a lucky cat and a Feng Shui Ganesh.
The Feng Shui Dragon is an auspicious and powerful traditional Feng Shui animal symbol of male or yang energy. In the claw of the Feng Shui dragon, a crystal or pearl symbolizes plenty of opportunities, power and wealth.
Foo Dogs are one of the best protection symbols of Feng Shui. They are also known as Imperial Chinese Guardian Lions. The Chinese Foo Dogs were in the past placed in front of government offices, temples and imperial palaces. This meant that these places were highly secure, holy and anyone who came around was assured of being safe. The Foo Dogs are also traditionally used as a Feng Shui symbol which means social status, family and wealth. They’re mostly placed in the front before you enter any stunning home. Whenever you see this symbol outside of a home you know it’s an extravagantly decorated home and is very secure.
Chin Lin is a mythical Chinese creature which has the scales of the carp fish, the body of a horse and the head of the dragon. This creature is also called the Chinese unicorn and a dragon horse. The Chi Lin is meant to bring protective and strong Feng Shui energy
The tortoise is one of the four guardian or celestial animals in the Feng Shui symbols. These are used as a symbol of protection.
The elephant is traditionally used as a Feng Shui symbol which means fertility, wisdom, good luck and protection. The elephant trunk had a unique language of its own. When the elephant’s trunk is facing up that symbolizes good luck and can spread positive energy throughout your home or office.
Dzi beads mean splendor, clearness, brightness and shine. In the interpretation of the Chinese Dzi it means the heaven’s pearls.
The eye image has been one of the powerful and strongest symbols in many of the traditional creatures. Many people see the eye as a protective, all-seeing and a vigilant symbol that’s often in front of offices and homes. Some people will wear jewelry which has the design of an eye meaning they’re safe and protected.
In Feng Shui the lucky cat can be compared to the Ganesh. Both of these symbols were from the cultures outside the Chinese community since the Ganesh is from the Indian culture while the lucky cat is from the Japanese culture. These two symbols have become famous among the enthusiasts and practitioners of the Feng Shui symbols.
Feng Shui symbols not only improve the appearance of your space but also have a way of helping you out of your stagnating lifestyle, love life and even career through the provision of energy. You will find that the bad energy goes away as soon as these symbols are placed in your home or office. They have helped many people get over the negative situations they feel are becoming too much for them to handle.

In your opinion, what is the best possible way that one can go about offering a renewed and fresh look to any living space? Well, there is little doubt that there are a multitude of different things that one can do, but replacing old windows is one of the best ways to go about it. No two ways about that, really. Whenever someone enters a room, the fact of the matter is that whether it is intentional or not, their eyes will automatically go towards the windows just to see how they look.
However, one needs to understand and realize that the process of window replacement is anything but easy. Unfortunately, for the most part, people try and take matters into their own hands with regard to window fixing and replacement which usually ends up creating a disaster. Not only is trying to do a DIY job counterproductive since you simply do not have the necessary tools, skills or experience, but you will end up wasting a great deal of money in the long run due to double work.

Not the case with a professional service as every aspect from the coverage of labour to the availability of spare parts will be taken care of across the board.

Not just referrals, but even word-of-mouth recommendations and references from different professionals out there so that you can make a list of the top five services that strike your fancy and then take things forward from there.
Are you planning on redecorating your home! Keep reading these important tips before you begin your redecorating project!
Photo: Alvarez Homes
You’ve just purchased a fresh home, and now you’re ready to tackle the insides and create your interior design dream. You’ve watched countless HGTV reality shows and can’t wait to pick out backsplash tiles for the kitchen, discuss accent pieces for the living room or choose a chandelier for the front entry. Before you get too ahead of yourself, it is essential to understand the phases of an interior design project and what you can expect from a design agency.
Step #1: Consultation And Programming
Initially, you’ll meet with your interior designer and discuss your needs, goals, must-have items, favorite colors and so on. This is the same phase that will address the budget. If you’ve just purchased your home, remember to break out that mortgage calculator again and factor in the payments you’ll be making on your home. You don’t want to stretch yourself too thin in the design process and have trouble making mortgage payments!
Photo: Christina Karras
Step #2: Schematic Design
Once the consultation is done, a budget is talked about, and a plan is set in motion, your designer will come back to you with a schematic design. This will help you picture how furniture will be arranged, what renovations (if any) need to be made, how the flow of the house will function and more. Your designer may have some initial furniture/design options to suggest, but these are very preliminary and usually just designed to show you what the space could look like. Clients and designers will often negotiate on the schematic design for a bit.
Photo: Salcito Custom Homes
Step #3: Design Begins
This is the phase that they highlight in your favorite home design shows. This is where colors, fabrics, finishes, materials and other considerations are chosen. And, it is where you begin looking at furniture, accents, appliances and other physical objects to fill the space(s) with. Estimates are drawn up to determine what the cost of all of the design elements will be. Again, there will be lots of back and forth negotiating between client and designer before a final design is agreed upon.
Step #4: Construction Considerations
Even if you aren’t making any major renovations, you still have to consider looking at who is going to install new light fixtures, apply paint or put down new flooring. In this phase, you and your designer will look at possible contractors for the job. Some designers have contractors in-house to handle this work. Otherwise, you may have to shop around and accept bids/estimates from many different contractors. This phase is more tedious if there is a lot of contracting to be done.
Step #5: Final Finishes
This is the last day or last couple days of the interior design process. The final few appliances are installed, construction wraps up, the new floors are swept, furniture moved in and so on. This is the day you’ve been waiting for because you can finally see all the fruits of your labor and planning paid off.
With the interior design process completed, there is nothing left to do but put your feet up in your brand new layout and enjoy your fresh surroundings, before calling all your friends to show off your new pad, of course.
When it comes to flooring in your home tiles are an elegant & durable flooring choice and long-lasting choice.
Photo: Erika Bonnell Interiors
Tiles can be reasonably priced and offer a lot of benefits that enhance the appearance of a room in the home. However, it takes a little effort on a regular basis to increase the life of your tile floors to keep looking clean. Due to a lack of experience and knowledge can make the tile cleaning process harder for ourselves. Moreover, using improper cleaning chemicals can degrade the tiles instead of cleaning and maintaining them.
That’s why we have mentioned few precautions that you should consider in order to avoid problems and get the best results. Take a look at the list that walks you through the most common do’s and don’ts of cleaning your tile and grout.
Cleaning your tile properly is a matter of taking the right approach and using right materials:
Photo: Progressive Solutions
Clean up Spills Immediately
Some Tiles can have porous properties that can make unattended spills a big problem. Spills will seep into your tile, can cause discolor in your tile and grout. Some coffee spills, tomato spills and oil spillages may stain if they are not removed, some tiles have good sealers and others have poor sealers which can leave stains such as these ones. We suggest cleaning those spillages up immediately.
Frequent Mopping and Sweeping
Tiles are an elegant flooring option addition to any home and bring a touch of style and class to your interior decorating. However, dirt dust and general grime can spoil the welcoming ambience. To prevent damage to the tile & grout, make sure to vacuum and mop your tiles regularly. The experts at Bensons Cleaning Services advise using hot water to remove grime from the tiles and also dries a lot faster. Moreover, twice a week vacuuming and light weekly mopping with hot water will not only extend the life of your floors but make them look great too.

Seal Your Tile
Inspect the sealer frequently to make certain it isn’t peeling away from the tile surface. In the same manner, sealing will protect your grout from wear and tear and damage. Plus, offers more stain protection.
Use Soft Cleaning Cloths and Mops
Abrasive scrubbing powders, steel wool or any other scrubbing material can scratch or damage the smooth surface of your tile and grout. Use soft cloths and sponges for cleaning. Try using neutral products.
Before you start to clean your tile and grout with chemical solutions, it is necessary to ventilate the area to prevent the inhaling of any unhealthy chemicals and to dry the floor as best you can.

Use Furniture Protectors
Tile is hard, but when enough force is exerted on it can chip or crack its surface. Use furniture protectors on the bottom of table legs and chairs and also on the bottom of potted plants to protect tile surfaces.
Use Door Mats
Placing a door mat inside and outside of your home will catch most of the grime and dirt before it enters into your homes and ruins the look of your beautiful tiles.
Using Colored Cleaners
Never use colored cleaners. Tile can easily absorb color from cleaning solutions because it has very tiny pores. With the passage of time, they can discolor your tile and grout. So, use clear solutions for cleaning tile and grout.
Over Wetting the Tile
Overly wetting the tiles can in some cases stain the grouting over time, we strongly advise using hot water with a mop or microfiber mob head to ensure the floor is dries quickly.
Cleaning your tile and grout on your own can leave you exhausted and sore, which is why you should hire professionals to do the cleaning for you. Whether you are looking for carpet cleaning or tile and grout cleaning services in Adelaide, always look for experienced and certified professionals for better results and experience.
The main difference is most cleaning companies use truck mount machines when pressure cleaning of your tile and grout, they may have different methods of cleaning however the best option is to test the tiles determine what type they are, then mop the particular product onto the tiles, scrub the floor with a special tool which works the product into the tile & grout breaking the soiling on the top surface down, we then start our truck mount machine and use a sx12 tool at 900-1000psi to clean the tiles, all the grey water goes back into the holding tank in the van. The tiles dry very quickly as we place air movers in the room and also mop them with a microfiber mop leaving no streaks at all.

One of the biggest differences between homeownership and renting is the lack of a maintenance man to come and make home repairs on demand.
Photo: Vivian Johnson Photography
Even in the newest of construction, unexpected home repairs can occur and the costs can be significant. Discover which repairs will break the bank, and the maintenance you can do to help prevent these expenses.
Problem: Rewiring Your Electric
Replacing your electric system is something that typically happens in older homes. The wiring may be frayed and causing a fire danger, damaged by water, or simply not set up correctly for modern voltage use. Common estimates to rewire your home start at $4,000 and go up. In addition to the wiring work itself which will require a professional electrician, you will need to pay for permits and repair and replace wall damage. You also should never postpone replacing faulty wiring, as this could pose a danger from fire resulting in injury and the loss of your home.
Photo: Laura Stein Interiors
When buying an older home, you should have an inspection done to ensure that you know which repairs must be done, and ideally have the ability to request these repairs be completed before you ever move in. Even brand new construction should have a home inspection, as a shiny exterior can hide greater flaws. After move in, make sure you regularly check for signs of electrical damage when you do seasonal maintenance, and immediately repair faulty switches or outlets.
Problem: Replacing Your Roof
Roofs will traditionally take minor damage throughout the seasons, which can be easily repaired through regular cleaning and maintenance. If a roof issue goes undetected, you may be in trouble, requiring an entire roof replacement. An average for a complete roof replacement cost will begin around $5,000, but can quickly escalate to far higher numbers. Depending on how long the roof has been damaged, water may have been seeping in for months or even years, creating further structural damage, or dangerous mold.
Photo: South Park Design Build
Solution: Maintain and Repair
The key to avoiding costly roof repairs is to maintain your roofing material and quickly repair any damage. Inspect your roof seasonally for loose or missing roof tiles. Unclog gutters and make sure there is proper drainage after a storm or during seasonal inspections. When purchasing, always make sure you have the roof inspected, including checking crawl spaces and attics for hidden leaks.
Problem: Plumbing Leaks
Plumbing leaks can have a range of severity as well as a range of causes. Sewer lines can cause hidden leaks underground that may back up into your home. Broken pipes may cause a slow leak hidden in a wall that can cause long-term damage. Even a simple sink can cause costly damage to your kitchen floors and cabinetry. Plumbing alone can start around $2,000 for serious issues. If your plumbing has had a hidden problem for a long time such as a sewer pipe below the house, this can also affect the foundation — a monster repair that will easily run from $10,000-$30,000.
Photo: Two Hawks Design and Development
Solution: Monitor Water Both in and out
One simple way to detect a hidden water leak is to review your water bill. Any spikes in usage not explained by your family use could indicate a water leak. You can hire professional leak detection experts to track this down if a leak seems probable. Also look for signs of moisture inside — you may see mold, discoloration, or warping. Be aware of your water pressure as sudden loss of pressure could indicate water escaping elsewhere. Also be aware of drainage. A slow, severely clogged drain could be prone to breakage in the future. Avoid using caustic drain cleaners as these may further corrode older pipes.
Home repairs can be costly and unexpected. Major repairs typically start in the thousand dollar range and the cost only goes higher when you factor in permits, repair to home decor, and the cost of losing the use of part of your home while these repairs happen. Your best protection against costly repairs is to regularly complete the small repairs and regularly perform seasonal maintenance. Keeping your house clean can help detect issues while still manageable and before expenses rise. Preventative care such as cleaning gutters can help ensure proper water drainage and avoid damaging backups.
If you are unable to perform regular home repairs due to time, knowledge, or physical limitations there are many talented individuals who can help with home repairs on demand. Call your local handyman or service provider to save money in your long-term investment.
After deciding to renovate the bathroom there are various really important decisions that have to be made. One that is not that well-known by home owners is what flooring to choose.
Photo: EURO Design Build
Bathroom flooring stands out as a really important bathroom remodel element. We are talking about a really busy house room. It needs to resist a lot of wear and tear.
Brand new flooring is going to take out a large part of the bathroom remodel project. This is something you have to take into account. According to plumbers in Geelong, many homeowners underestimate how much flooring costs and they end up opting for inferior options when they realize this is the case.
The good news is that there are numerous options that are available right now. Every single one has its particular advantages and disadvantages. It is important to learn all that you can about them before you visit the home improvement store. This is why we are going to now talk about the most popular bathroom flooring options that you want to seriously consider right now.

Vinyl Bathroom Flooring
This is a highly popular choice for homeowners from around the world. The big advantage is that vinyl bathroom flooring is durable. At the same time, it is really water-resistant and does stand out as being comfortable. You can now choose out of various styles and colors. There are even some that are simulating tile and stone appearance. You only have to pay between one and seven dollars per one square foot, plus installation costs if you opt for vinyl.
Tile Bathroom Flooring
You want to consider tile flooring if it is important for you to add some texture or shapes to your bathrooms. The ceramic tiles will be finished in special glaze over clay. Then they are baked. Porcelain color is running through clay.
Photo: Adams Gerndt Design Group
The advantage of using porcelain is that it is highly resistant to scratches. However, you need to understand that these tiles are very slippery. Opting for high-floss finish is a very bad idea if you are to install the tiles inside your bathroom. In order to install tile flooring you can expect to pay anywhere between three and twenty dollars for one square foot.
Laminate Bathroom Flooring
This option is quickly gaining in popularity, especially when referring to homeowners that appreciate the way in which wood looks. You get a similar appearance without having to deal with the obvious problems you would have as you add wood flooring to your bathroom. Laminate does offer various benefits people love like easy installation, low costs and increased durability. However, water damage can appear. Spills and drips need to be cleaned as soon as possible in order to avoid falling. The good news is that price is affordable with one square foot costing up to ten dollars. This is what makes laminate bathroom flooring a really good option to take into account. Just be sure you look at all the types available since you can choose out of so many you will just love.
Whether you have been blogging about interior design for a while or are just getting started, there has never been a better time to expand your horizons by following these given steps to starting a home décor ecommerce store.
Photo: Historical Concepts
Always keep in mind that product marketing these days extends to lifestyle marketing. Chose products that fit the lifestyle theme of your interior design website and customers will keep on coming back for more.
If you’re featuring tons of beautiful design tips, tricks, and ideas, it seems the next logical step to offer site visitors a full experience by providing an online shop that offers key products.
Setup Your eCommerce Store
Numerous options exist for getting an eCommerce store up and running. The choices can be overwhelming at times. First, comes the task of choosing and registering the perfect domain name, followed by picking a hosting package, and designing a website. Luckily, many ecommerce platforms offer all-in-on solutions with storefronts that require little, if any, customization out of the box. On the other hand, you might have an existing blog and choose to start a store an a third-party website like Etsy. In any case, solutions exist as your needs grow, and don’t hesitate to hire a professional to help when technical concerns start to be over your head.
Decide on Core Products
Your ecommerce store is not Amazon, so don’t even think about trying to offer a wide variety of products or even a lot of a few exclusive products in the beginning. Unless you have lots of experience in the online retail area or a very patient and always-available mentor, it’s best to start small. Mistakes will be make, and you will learn a lot in the process. Have a plan in place as well for how you will source the needed products. Are you going to resale carefully curated items? Make them yourself? Likely, you’ll be looking into ways to bring your customers quality products while cutting down on the length of the supply chain and cutting out the middleman retailer.
Load Descriptions and Pictures
Great product copy can practically market itself. This starts with determining what makes your product unique. Play to a given product’s strengths. Also, peruse similar product reviews on big sites like Amazon to get a sense of what customers often note as downfalls and turn those into a positive for your product. Carry out keyword research as well as good SEO practices will help drive traffic to your site. Be sure to also feature amazing pictures that fully showcase your site’s product and design aesthetic. The visual element to any product showcased is crucial, and should always look outstanding in a thumbnail. Learning a few photography basics will go a long way as will gaining a working knowledge of one of the many varieties of photo editing software.
Get the Word Out
The traffic to your ecommerce store will grow in time, but not overnight. Whether you pound the pavement or send out emails to retailers and your contact list, the effort will pay off in the long run. Offering pre-order products prior to launching your site or the new addition of an ecommerce store can be a great step toward a successful product run. Be sure to outline the benefits of your products in any form of communication you share with others. Make it clear how the product can be of benefit. Better yet, offer advice potential buyers will find hard to turn down. That in turn will help create interest in your product.
Set Yourself Apart
What can you offer that many other ecommerce stores don’t? This could be along the lines of entire rooms that a shopper can order to achieve a polished look with minimal guesswork and effort. Or perhaps you decide to dial down to a narrow niche such as animal artwork or customized couch pillows or stenciled handbags. Maybe one or two specialty items will make up the bulk of your sales for a while, and that’s okay. It never hurts either to add a personal touch to all products shipped, whether it be in the form of a personal note or extra freebie.
Your inventory will likely change as your home interior design site changes, and that’s okay. It shows you are honing your niche and owning it. If a particular product isn’t selling, then don’t keep it around. Try something new, and try and try again to find the products your customers love.
What other steps would you add to starting a home décor ecommerce store?
