I am currently using the Loreal 6 Oil Nourish Shampoo and Conditioner. And I am happy with the results! In the review post, I have also shared that I would like to try the serum as well. Obviously, this isn’t the 6 oil nourish serum. It is from the total repair 5 range. This came in a huge box which contained the shampoo, conditioner, and the serum. The box was on good discount and my sister uses the total repair 5 shampoo and conditioner so this was for her. But she doesn’t use a serum so I took it from the box. ( ) And I have been using this hair serum for quite some time now. Today I will be sharing my experience with it.
How to Use Loreal Serum on Hair
The bottle is opaque white in color with a red flip open cap which closes tight. Due to its size and the cap quality, it can be easily carried around in your purse with no spills. Both the bottle and the box in which it comes packed, contain all the important details about the product.
Loreal Total Repair 5 Serum Review
My Hair Type
Color and Texture
The serum is colorless and is very lightweight. It has a non-oily and non-greasy texture. With slight silicone feel to it. Of course, because it contains silicones.
It has a very yummy candy floss plus bubble gum mix kind of fragrance! (I am always sniffing on the nozzle before usage. )The fragrance quickly spreads in the entire room and also lingers around for quite a bit post application.
As my hair is chemically straightened I am very strict about this 3 step hair care routine which is- shampoo, conditioner and using a hair serum. I also use hair oil and hair mask once in a while depending on what my hair needs. Often most people after getting chemically straight hair complain about dryness and damaged hair. The reason is that they have not been taking good care of their hair by following a strict regime.
I always credit a good hair day to good hair serum. And this is why one must invest in a good hair serum which actually tames their hair frizz. I do have a few flyovers here and there. Also due to the humidity, my hair needs extra care and protection, which the serum looks after.
I won’t be talking about what the serum claims because the claims are too heavy of this entire total repair 5 range and some of them, let’s be real- doesn’t even sound possible!
The total repair 5 serum helps in controlling the hair frizz and makes the hair look shiny and healthy. It doesn’t make my scalp or hair greasy. (Anyways my hair turns greasy naturally on the 3rd-day post hair wash.) It is very light and can be used by all hair types even on treated hair like mine.
I do not have split ends as I get regular hair cuts done. So I can not comment on the ‘less split end‘ claim.
Pros of Loreal Total Repair 5 Serum
Yummy fragrance (candy floss + bubble gum)
Tames down hair frizz
Makes detangling easy
Provides some shine to hair
Does not give a greasy look
Does not give a sticky look
Cons of Loreal Total Repair 5 Serum
Not a natural or organic product so if you prefer natural products you may not consider using this one.
I love it!
Overall it smoothens my hair by controlling the dryness and hair frizz. What else you could ask to have good hair, every day? I will be definitely buying this in the future and would like to check out other Lorealserums as well. As I said earlier this came in a box with entire total repair 5 range which my sister uses. Except for the serum, she doesn’t use any hair serum. So this was a giveaway product from my sister!

It’s summer and though rarely I go out in the sun but whenever I do I am not wearing any form of sun protection. Because I haven’t found the sunscreen for my skin type which doesn’t cause me breakouts. So to keep myself away from unnecessary facial tanning I was looking to try something which I don’t have to wear on my face. And that is how I came across this facial bar from the brand Vaadi Herbals. I have tried an under creamfrom Vaadi before and I liked it! The fact that Vaadi’s products are very very affordable and after reading good reviews I thought- why not give it a try? Let’s see how it worked!
Product Description, Ingredients, Direction of Use
The facial bar comes in a card paper packaging which is bright orange in color and looks very attractive! All the important details are mentioned on it. The soap was further placed in a small cute plastic bag which I have discarded.
Vaadi Herbals Kesar Chandan Facial Bar Review
My Skin Type
Fair, sensitive, oily and acne prone
Color and Texture
The bar is bright orange in color. Just a little bit is required and it lathers very well. So it is definitely going to last very long!
It has got one of my favorite scent in it- Chandan or sandalwood! It is very refreshing and always uplifts my senses whenever I use it. The fragrance lingers around for quite some time and then it slowly disappears.
At first, I was afraid of trying this out as it contains orange peel extract. Because I use Vitamin A at night so I try to stay away from anything which has lemon and orange content in it. As it tends to irritate my facial skin. But this did not irritate my skin even once! So I can say that it can be safely used if you have sensitive skin.
It does most of the stuff that it claims. Whenever I wash my face it takes away the dull and oily look, making my face appear bright and fresh. So it definitely adds natural radiance to the skin!
I don’t have dark patches on my face so I can not comment on that part.
Coming to the lightening part- my skin complexion is naturally on the fair side and with regular usage of this facial bar, I haven’t experienced any skin lightening effects. But it has lightened some of my acne scars! I credit this to the ingredients- sandalwood and orange peel. (You won’t be able to see my lightened acne scars as my selfies aren’t that clear. )
I have been using this facial bar these days and I am still halfway to finish it. I like it how it cleanses all the face oil, sweat, and grime without leaving the skin dry and stretchy. And there isn’t any slimy residue left behind post face wash. Also, this facial bar did not cause me any unexpected breakouts. As sometimes usage of certain products causes severe breakouts if you have sensitive and acne prone skin. (And that’s why I have to be very careful on what I put on my face!)
Overall, this is a decent facial bar which will suit all skin types including sensitive and acne-prone skin.
Pros of Vaadi Herbals Kesar Chandan Facial Bar
Lightens and controls fresh tan
Soothing sandalwood scent
Does not dry out the skin
Does not leave any slimy residue
Brings out the natural glow in the skin
Cons of Vaadi Herbals Kesar Chandan Facial Bar
Can not carry this facial bar on travels as it would be very inconvenient to use.
I love it!
To be honest I am someone who prefers using a facial bar over a face wash. As most face washes leaves behind a slimy feeling which my oily skin is not cool with. If you are making regular visits out in the sun then you can try this facial bar to keep the unnecessary face tan in control. However, this may or may not work on an old tan. And I still recommend using a high SPF product along with this!

I have been using the Maybelline New York magnum barbie mascara for quite a long time now. On a daily basis, I am someone who prefers using a good mascara over eyeliner and kohl. Because my eyelashes pretty much look non-existent and they are very thin. So a good mascara helps me in bringing some life back to my eyes. I am sure every girl loves trying out mascaras from Maybelline because of the quality that they come in. And the magnum barbie mascara claims to give a Barbie-like lashes effect. Let’s see how it fares!
Direction of Use
Use an eyelash curler to curl your eyelashes. Then apply two coats of the magnum barbie mascara. It dries up quickly so you have to work fast. And if more than two coats are applied it clumps up the eyelashes which definitely doesn’t look natural.
I fell in love with its packaging! The yellow bottle with pink shiny cap- the combo looks cute and eye-catching! The wand has soft bristles and it is slightly curved.
Maybelline Magnum Barbie Mascara Review
My Eye Lashes Type
Straight, thin, less volume
Color and Texture
This mascara only comes in one color which is jet black. Two coats of this mascara are enough to show up on lashes. The texture of it is neither too runny nor too thick. It is somewhere medium and slightly on the thicker side.
Sometimes the mascara goes into my eyes which obviously irritates my eyes. So I don’t go overboard with the application. Mostly I am doing only one coat of this. But here in the pictures, I have applied 2 coats to show how it looks on the lashes.
Is It Waterproof or Water Resistant?
It is both water resistant and waterproof. Which I liked the most! So it can easily survive in swimming pools and rains. Also if you get teary it doesn’t melt or smudge around the eyes.
On me, it lasts through the entire day! It doesn’t need a reapplication either. But it needs a really good makeup remover to remove it completely.
I was struggling with taking selfies with this on my lashes. As it doesn’t show up in selfies. Mostly due to my eyelashes growing straight and down. So I took photos in a certain angle to capture the look.
Honestly, if you have lashes like mine then you may wanna try out a different mascara like the one which curls and also adds volume to the lashes. This definitely adds a good amount volume but it doesn’t curl. That is if you have your eyelashes growing straight and down like mine.
But if your lashes are naturally curled or they don’t grow straight then you will definitely love this for both daily wear and party wear!
Anyways I like the Lakme eyeconic curling mascara more than this which curls my lashes, makes them stay curled for a very long time also adding volume!
Pros of Maybelline Magnum Barbie Mascara
Adds volume to lashes
Jet black color
Lasts all day long
Perfect for both day and night time
Cons of Maybelline Magnum Barbie Mascara
Not for straight and down growing lashes as it does not curl them
Clumps up with more than 2 coats
Dries up too quickly
Little tough to remove
I like it!
Overall, the magnum mascara from Maybelline is a good everyday wear mascara for me and for those who have lashes like mine- straight and thin. As it adds a good amount of volume. But to curl your straight lashes you need to use an eyelash curler. And for those of you with naturally curled lashes, this will look very beautiful on you! I like how it adds more life to my eyes and makes it look wide and awake.

Potato Face Pack for Skin Whitening, Dark Spots, Pimples and More!
Potatoes are my fave! I like adding them to almost every sabzi which I cook. And who doesn’t love mashed potatoes or a simple potato sabzi? It is rich in all essential nutrients needed for our health. But have you ever wondered to use potato on the skin and what are the potato benefits for skin? A very long time ago when I used to make regular visits to the beauty parlors nearby, I remember one lady working in the parlor suggested me to use potato for my facial acne and acne scars. That time all I said was “I do love potatoes but putting it on my face sounds weird!” Until a few days ago I made this potato face mask and fell in love with it! I made it using just 2 ingredients from the kitchen, learn how!
Potato Face Pack for Skin Whitening, Dark Spots, Pimples and More!
Potato Face Pack Using Only 2 Ingredients
Steps to Make Potato Face Pack
Wash and peel the potato. (I have used the smallest potato from the kitchen.)
Cut the potato in pieces and grate it. (Be careful and don’t get hurt!)
Add the grated potato in a bowl and add curd to it. (There is no particular ratio here I have basically eyeballed the ingredients!)
Mix it well and while mixing smash it with the back of the spoon to lessen the lumps. Personally, the lumps don’t bother me but if it bothers you then you blend the potatoes to make a smooth paste and use it.
Cover and store this in the refrigerator and use it within 2 weeks. This is a lot of face mask so you can share it with your family members too! (Or it can also be used on arms and legs to get the effects of polished skin!)
The Direction of Use
Apply this mask on your face and neck. While applying on the skin pat it slightly to set it in place. Keep it for 10 to 15 minutes then while washing massage gently for a few minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water. Use a mild soap or face wash to remove the sliminess from curd. Follow up with your favorite face mist and moisturizer. Use this thrice a week for best results.
Potato Uses for Skin
1. Potato for Face Whitening
Potatoes contain enzymes which lighten the skin blemishes while bringing out the glow in your skin. It has mild bleaching properties which whiten the face effectively.
2. Potato for Acne Scars
The vitamin C and B6 along with zinc content in it help heal and nourish the damaged skin cells and promotes new skin cells.
3. Potato for Pimples
The potassium in potato hydrates the skin. Often excessive sebum production is due to un-hydrated skin. This natural ingredient effectively hydrates the skin while cleansing off the impurities.
4. Potato for Dark Spots on Face
Potato not only brightens up the face but also lightens dark spots and sun spots. The vitamin C in potato boost collagen production and heals the skin.
5. Potato for Face Pigmentation
It provides niacin which deals with hyperpigmentation and any kinds of skin discoloration.
Potato along with curd helps in balancing uneven skin tone. Curd also fights pimple-causing bacteria. This face pack works as a natural lightening and moisturizer for the facial skin.
Note: If you have sensitive skin like mine then this face pack might cause a slight tingling sensation which is due to the presence of vitamin C. Do a patch test first. If your skin is cool with it then apply it all over your face.
This simple 2 ingredient DIY potato face pack can be used for a variety of skin problems. These two ingredients are the powerhouse of skin lightening and sebum balancing properties. It cleanses excess oil and controls acne whilst lightening acne scars and other skin blemishes. And this is how it results in smooth and glowing skin!

Biotique Bio Neem Face Wash Review | Does It Really Prevent Pimples?
Summer is already here in Mumbai! It’s getting very hot and humid here. So about a month ago I was looking up for a good cleansing and refreshing face wash. I needed something which cleanses my face very well and at the same time, it is not harsh on my sensitive skin. Something like an anti-acne face wash! We all need products like such during this season. And that’s how I came across Biotique neem face wash. This is my very first product from the brand Biotique and I have read quite impressive reviews on their products online. So I thought why not give this face wash a go? Hop in to know how it fared.
Product Description, Directions to Use, and Ingredients
(Um… I wonder if this is the complete ingredient list. Anyways, let’s move forward!)
The bio neem face wash comes in a transparent plastic tube with a green colored flip open cap. All the important details are also mentioned on the tube. I picked up the small size just to see how it works on my skin first.
Biotique Bio Neem Face Wash Review
My Skin Type
Sensitive, oily and acne-prone.
Color and Fragrance
The face wash contains a refreshing fragrance and refreshing green color for the eyes. Only a dime size is needed for the face and neck. As it foams very well.
My face has been getting more oily and sweaty this season. Afraid of terrible acne breakouts I was bit excited to try this face wash as it contains my all-time favorite ingredient- neem!
I use this face wash 3-4 times in a day and it gently yet effectively cleanses all the oil and sweat leaving the skin feeling soft and supple. It is weird that sometimes my face is super oily and then sometimes my face looks parched and red. I was glad that this face wash doesn’t leave the skin dry and stretchy post face wash. Otherwise, the redness would have doubled! Also, it keeps face oil-free for an extended period of time than usual.
About the ‘preventing pimples‘ part- no it does not prevent future pimples. Sadly I haven’t come across any a product which does that. (Let me know in the comments if you happen to know a product which prevents pimples.) But it does cleanse the inflamed area around pimple due to the ingredient neem.
It claims to be 100% soap-free which is great for sensitive skin. Otherwise, face washes which are loaded with chemicals tend to irritate my sensitive skin. Thus, leading to more inflammation.
As far the ‘dissolving makeup‘ claims go- no it can not replace your makeup remover. However, it can accompany it. I also have been using this face wash after removing makeup with Johnson’s Baby Oil with Vitamin E.
I love it!
Overall it is a budget-friendly face wash to try out in the summer season. It removes all oil, dirt, and sweat effectively. Due to its natural ingredients, it does not irritate the skin at all. So sensitive skin people will love it. That said, it will suit all skin types even people with dry skin as it is a gentle cleanser, which does not dry out facial skin.
I would like to try more products from Biotique. (Suggest me some below!)
