Summer beauty means easy, fuss-free makeup. A select group of beauty products for minimal time, maximum impact. This is the beauty routine I’ll be following this summer!

My summer beauty look starts with long, sexy eyelashes. I’m using neuLASH® Lash Enhancing Serum, which uses a proprietary combination of amino acids and bioengineered peptides to condition, strengthen and protect lashes. Niotin, an essential B vitamin, fortifies lashes against further damage and sodium hyaluronate boosts hydration, softness and shine. Expect to see results in about 30 days, and since I’ve started using neuLASH®, I haven’t experienced irritation.

A waterproof mascara is essential for an active summer lifestyle. New KUSH Waterproof Mascara from Milk Makeup is an intense-black mascara that uses hollow, heart-shaped fibers to lock onto lashes for a volumizing effect. Like the original KUSH Mascara, there is hemp-derived cannabis seed oil to condition, and a fabulous brush to maximize length. It’s vegan and cruelty-free, too.

My summer makeup look is never complete without a bronzer, and the Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess Illuminating Powder Gelée (shown in Heatwave) is a stunner!  For a beautiful sunkissed glow, sweep this highlighter/bronzer onto the high planes of the face. The effect is more of a pearlized, luminescent finish, which is buildable, if desired. There is a subtle shimmer noticeable in the light. I love the classic Bronze Goddess scent, too!

No summer makeup look would be complete without a quick swipe of lip gloss. Grab the Jewels On Jewels Lipglass from MAC’s new Aladdin Collection. The warm pink shade with gold shimmer is a perfect complement to tan skin. The Lipglass formula has always been one of my favorites; conditioning and not sticky. This is a solid pick!

Beach days will definitely be on the agenda this summer, and sun protection is a must. My pick is Bali Body Watermelon Sun Tanning Oil. I used this formula in Florida, and it’s a winner. Not only does it smell amazing, it’s packed with antioxidants, plus it provides UVA & UVB protection. I would definitely repurchase!

What products do you use for an easy, breezy summer look?

Summer hair….we want it to be easy, simple, no fuss. From sun exposure to pollution, hair can be left fragile and damaged. I’ve got the 411 on some of the newest hair products to keep hair looking great this summer!

The best thing you can do for your hair in the summer is protect it from the heat and elements. That’s where the new Kérastase Soleil Collection comes in. The products are formulated to penetrate deeply to deliver nutrients that protect hair and leave it shiny, healthy and smelling divine. I never hesitate to recommend Kérastase treatments; they’re excellent. The Soleil Collection includes:

  • Soleil Crème UV Sublime: Counteracts dryness and breakage and protects against external environmental aggressors. Excellent for frizz control.
  • Soleil Bain Après-Soleil Shampoo: This cool gel removes residual salt, chlorine and sand while deeply hydrating the hair fiber, protecting against the sun and restoring smoothness.
  • Soleil Masque Après-Soleil: Kérastase masques are legendary; this intensive hydrating mask is great for sun-exposed hair. This after-sun masque nourishes the hair fiber and has anti-oxidizing properties to revitalize hair that’s been exposed to the elements.
  • Soleil Huile Sirene: a bi-phase formula consisting of a texturizing spray and a hair oil. Softens curls and doubles as a nourishing treatment for protecting hair against humidity.

If your hair and scalp is exposed to pollution, or product buildup, you can experience weakened hair, premature hair loss and dull hair. I’ve used the Klorane Anti-Pollution range interchangeably and really like it. I really like how fresh my hair and scalp feels; plus, hair odors are neutralized up to 6 hours. There is a light, minty scent.

  • The Purifying Mist with Aquatic Mint is a great on-the-go refresher that purifies hair and scalp odors. It also tames frizz; perfect for summer humidity.
  • The Detox Shampoo and Conditioner detoxifies and purifies the scalp while preserving it’s natural balance or stripping the hair. With all the products I try and use, build up can be an issue. But the Detox Shampoo effectively removes that, without stripping the hair or leaving it dry/unmanageable.
  • Try all three products, perfectly sized for travel or gym bag in the Aquatic Mint Detoxifying Trial Kit!

Volume is always an issue with my hair…I’m constantly on the lookout for a good volumizing shampoo and conditioner. I’ve found it with The Uplifting One Shampoo and The Uplifting One Conditioner by Frédéric Fekkai. Formulated with South Sea Blue Seaweed Extract, the line helps provide uplifting volume and thickness. I really have seen a difference in my hair; it feels thicker and fuller, and I love the shine. The best part is that the formula doesn’t weigh my hair down. All hair types can use The Uplifting One products; there are no sulfates or parabens. And I love the light, fresh fragrance. Definitely would re-buy!

If you have blond hair, you’ll be interested in the new OKARA BLOND radiance ritual products from Rene Furterer. The OKARA BLOND products include a Brightening Shampoo, Brightening Conditioner and Brightening Spray, this line addresses the specific needs of natural, highlighted or bleached blond hair. Formulated at the optimum pH and without silicones, parabens, hydrogen peroxide, these are the products that will repair, restore radiance, and illuminate all shades of blonde hair. The OKARA BLOND Brightening Spray is a must-have; this bi-phase spray is infused with okara extract, mica glitter, and vitamins to lighten blond hair naturally, for a sun-kissed effect.

Don’t forget one of the most important hair protection musts for summer…the perfect hat! A wide brimmed hat offers good sun protection.  My favorite hat is the one I bought from Hats by Olivia; the hats can be personalized with a favorite saying, or name. Super cute!

Pixi Skintreats has added a number of new products centered around the iconic Glow Tonic, and I am here for them! Everyone wants glowing skin and the new Glow Tonic Collection makes up an entire regimen, from cleanser to moisturizer. Super easy, super effective.

The Pixi Glow Tonic Collection include the following essentials and steps:

  • Cleanse with the Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel, which cleanses and exfoliates skin, while leaving it moisturized and not stripped.
  • Tone with Glow Tonic, the classic 5% Glycolic Acid Toner, with ginseng to energize and aloe vera to soothe and hydrate.
  • Treat skin with the Glow Tonic Serum. This is a lightweight exfoliating serum that restores glow, speeds up cell turnover, refines pores and balances complexion.
  • Hydrate with pHenomenal Gel. This shine-controlling moisturizer is lightweight and perfect for summer.
  • Moisturize with the new On-The-Glow Stick (obsessed). My favorite product in this range, I love that there are Vitamins A, C and D2 to protect and brighten, caffeine and ginseng to energize skin, along with glycolic acid and aloe vera to gently exfoliate and soothe. It’s not a highlighter–but when you apply it, you get that dewy, glowy effect on skin. Extra points for portability!

Boost your results with the GLOW Glycolic Boost Sheet Mask. This is like a booster shot for glowing skin. Use twice a week to really jumpstart skin. Say goodbye to dull skin and hello to the glow!

What I like about the Pixi Skintreats Glow Tonic Collection is that you can add any of these treatments into a regimen you’re currently using. Or, if you want products that work well together in the same range, now you can do that, too. As I tested the entire range, I kept waiting to irritation because each product has Glycolic Acid in it, but I didn’t experience that at all. You can use these products morning or night, but I prefer to use Glycolic Acid products in the evening. Remember that if you are doing an exfoliation regimen, it’s especially important to wear sunscreen daily.

The Pixi Skintreats line is available at Target, and at pixibeauty.com. Have you tried any of the Pixi Glow Tonic products?

Maybelline New York has solved the problem of finding your perfect shade of lipstick with Made For All Lipstick by Color Sensational. This collection was developed to ensure that each shade looks sensational on everyone!

Getting the right shade of lipstick isn’t as easy as it seems. Similar to foundation, how a lipstick looks on you can depend on your skintone, undertone and even ethnicity. Each Made For All shade was carefully crafted and tested amongst 50 real women to ensure they complement every unique skin-tone. That’s right…every single lipcolor from this collection flatters ALL wearers. Finally!

Whether you are fair, medium, deep, or anywhere in between, you can count on wearing any Made For All by Color Sensational lipstick shade with confidence.

The seven universally flattering Made For All Lipstick shades include:

Left to Right: Spice For Me (Satin), Mauve For Me (Satin), Pink For Me (Satin), Fuchsia For Me (Satin), Red For Me (Matte), Ruby For Me (Satin), and Plum For Me (Satin).

I’ve been wearing and testing the whole Made For All Lipstick range. Mauve For Me is my favorite, but to be honest, every shade looks amazing! The coverage is full and fabulous. The pigmented color stays on and is comfortable to wear. In short, it’s hard to believe this is a “drugstore” lipstick. I have prestige lipsticks that don’t look or wear this well. Because you generally don’t have the luxury of trying a lipstick in a drugstore, Maybelline went all in and is even offering a money back guarantee.

The Maybelline Made For All Lipsticks can be found in ULTA, Target, drug and dicount stores, and at maybelline.com. At under $10, this is one lipstick to put on your “must-try” list!

There are a million different kinds of moms, and they all deserve something special for Mother’s Day. Pamper her with one of these gorgeous gifts…bonus points if you bring flowers, too!

Fragrance is a traditional gift, and wonderful for Spring. I love the new AERIN Aegea Blossom Eau de Parfum. This a light, fresh fragrance with floral notes of Sicilian Bergamot, verbena, neroli petals, jasmine and blooming orange blossom. It has a coastal feel to it; very summery and airy. I have quite a few AERIN fragrances, and they’re exceptional quality. Beautiful!

If your mom loves to travel, gift her with this practical, yet fun CHI® Pineapple Crush Travel Kit. It has everything she needs for gorgeous hair on the go. Included is a two-speed CHI Travel Dryer (pink) that folds up for portability, CHI Ceramic 1″ Travel Iron (pink), sectioning clips, mini Thermal Protection Spray and Silk Infusion, plus this adorable Travel Bag with a retro pineapple print on it. The travel dryer has plenty of power (1400 watts) and dries hair quickly and thoroughly. I love that everything is color-coordinated, too.

Makeup can sometimes be hard to gift, but NARS makes it easy with the new Lost In Luster Face Palette. No guesswork needed, as the colors are neutral and easily wearable. The palette includes four eyeshadows in As You Please (matte beige), Let Go (matte taupe), Dazed (rose gold) and Free Fall (shimmering taupe brown); highlighter in Free To Fly (pink champagne) and blush in Crush (golden strawberry pink, although I find it more peachy). So versatile and the perfect size to toss into a handbag, makeup bag or travel bag. Love!

Another beauty find for mom: the new Let’s Glow Lip Illuminators from Sara Happ®. A lip illuminator adds a highlighter effect to the lips, giving a natural glow and enhancing the shape. Formulated with reflective ultra-filling spheres and nourishing sweet almond oil, the Let’s Glow Lip Illuminators come in two shades: Pearl, which is an ethereal pink or Golden, which is a gold-bronze shade. Can be worn over lipstick, too, to add dimension and extra shine. Gorgeous!

Give mom something that she can enjoy at home…Bastide Ambre D’ Or Potpourri Scented Crystals. This is a perfect choice for the mom that loves decorating, or home fragrances. The Ambre D’ Or Potpourri Scented Crystals are not only beautiful to look at, the scent is warm and inviting. Place the crystals in a glass dish or bowl to display (make sure to keep out of children’s reach). I didn’t find the fragrance to be overpowering at all; you can control the intensity with how much you use. For more scent, divide into multiple containers and place in various spaces. So pretty!

Does your mom love skincare? Or maybe she loves roses. Give her the best of both worlds with the Fresh® A Rosy Outlook set. I use all the Fresh Rose products, and can tell you that they work wonders for dry, dehydrated skin. This set includes mini sizes of four of my favorites:  Rose Face Mask, Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner, Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream and a Sugar Rosé Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15. Indulgent and effective!

If you love a head to toe glow, then you’ll love the REN Radiance skincare range! I recently tested several products designed to illuminate and exfoliate skin. They’re perfect for post-winter dullness.

Add some zing to your morning (or evening) with the Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic. This daily exfoliating toner brightens and exfoliates skin while minimizing the appearance of pores. The formula contains Lactic Acid plus natural bio-actives, so don’t forget sunscreen at the end of your regimen. If you are a sensitive skin type, make sure to do a patch test first. I experienced tingling, but not irritation (however your mileage may vary) with this toner. This will definitely jumpstart your skin!

REN Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream: This lightweight moisturizer has become a staple in my morning routine. A vitamin C cream will help brighten and fade hyperpigmentation. I apply this gel-cream after the Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic. I love how light it is, plus it absorbs into skin easily without being sticky, and has a lovely citrus scent. The formula includes stable vitamin C, plus magnesium, and can be used by all skin types. I haven’t experienced any irritation or burning. Highly recommend this one!

AHA Smart Renewal Body Serum is the product you didn’t know you needed! This is a moisturizing body serum (lighter in texture than a lotion) that I apply to my skin right after showering. The AHA Smart Renewal Body serum helps improve dullness, dryness and uneven skin tone..exfoliating and hydrating at the same time. This was just the post-winter skincare remedy I needed. It has a light, citrus scent, which I love, and leaves my skin so SMOOTH it’s crazy.

One of the things I like about REN Skincare is their committment to ‘clean’ beauty products; it’s also a cruelty-free line. Out of all the REN Skincare products I’ve tried, these three are my favorites. Have you tried this line?

Patrick Ta, Celebrity Makeup Artist, is out with his first beauty collection, inspired by his signature look…illuminated skin. The collection is called “Major Glow“. I couldn’t wait to pick up the Major Glow Body Oil and I wasn’t disappointed.

If you don’t recognize Patrick Ta’s name, you’d recognize his clients… Shay Mitchell, Olivia Munn, Ariana Grande, Gigi and Bella Hadid, and more. His first beauty collection includes products that give you a real head-to-toe glow, from the Major Glow Highlighting Mist, which can be used on face and body; the Major Glow Body Oil, for use on the body, and Major Glow Lip Shine lip gloss.

There are two shades of Major Glow Body Oil; A Dream, (champagne) and A Moment (bronze). I decided to try the Major Glow Body Oil in A Moment.

The Major Glow Body Oil comes in a substantial 3.4 ounce bottle ($52) that will be #vanitygoals. Major Glow Body Oil is scented with jasmine, saffron and ambergris. Compared to the Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Shimmering Body Oil, Major Glow Body Oil has almost a unisex vibe; it doesn’t read “flowery” or “tropical”. The bronze shade adds a warm glow to skin, leaving it soft and hydrated, with a beautiful shimmer. I like that this body oil completely absorbs into skin within a few moments and doesn’t transfer to clothes. The shimmer particles are fine, not chunky. Overall, Major Glow Body Oil is very, very pretty on skin.

Compared to other shimmering body products I’ve tried, the Patrick Ta Major Glow Body Oil absorbs faster than Fenty Beauty Body Lava Body Luminizer or the Sol de Janeiro Glow Oils, and is equal to the Tom Ford Shimmering Body Oil in all aspects, except scent. If you want a more tropical scent, then I’d recommend Tom Ford. If scent isn’t the determining factor, then Major Glow Body Oil is comparable and less expensive. It’s also cruelty-free and paraben-free. I will definitely be buying more products from this line!

You can find Patrick Ta Major Glow Body Oil on sephora.com (in-stores May 24th) and on patrickta.com. Do you wear shimmering body products?

IL Makiage as a makeup brand is back, with a new foundation and a line of cosmetics that caters to women that enjoy the full makeup experience. This is not a line for the minimalist! If you’re unabashedly high-maintenance, or cringe at the thought of “no makeup makeup”, then this line’s for you.

I recently tried the IL Makiage line, and overall, really liked the products. The cornerstone of any makeup line is foundation, and I was impressed with the IL Makiage Woke Up Like This Foundation. There are over 50 shades available, and a Powermatch tool to make sure you get the right shade. As someone who can be difficult to match (light-medium, neutral to slightly warm undertone), I tried it and damn, if they didn’t get it dead on!

I matched to a Shade 70, which is what I’m wearing coming back from Florida with a tan. The foundation has a matte finish; it’s lightweight, natural and long-wearing. I found the level of coverage to be medium; the foundation can be built up to a full coverage, if needed. Most importantly, I liked that Woke Up Like This Foundation doesn’t give a dry, cakey look or settle into fine lines. Shown with the Foundation Blending Brush.

The Color Boss Squad in The Real Deal, is a neutral four pan eyeshadow palette, and from someone who sees a lot of palettes, this one is gorgeous. There are a variety of textures in the palette: matte, satin, metallic and shimmer. The shadows are creamy and long-wearing. I had very little fallout, and the color payoff is very good. The pigments almost glow in the pan. Beautiful!

I also tried various lip products including the Rave Lip Crayons in Rio and Isla; wearable, sheer color that is so comfortable on the lips, a lip pencil in Tulip (pretty standard, as far as that goes) and the Infinity Long-Wear Matte Lip Cream in Matte Royal. The colors in this range are bold, full-coverage and long-wearing. I did have a bit of color transfer with the Matte Lip Cream, but the formula is comfortable and not drying.

Overall, I was pleased with the IL Makiage products I tried. I think if you’re looking for a shade-inclusive makeup line that’s also cruelty-free and vegan, it’s one worth putting on your radar. You can find the line at ilmakiage.com.
