Lego has shared details on the final life-size build they’ll have in their booth at SDCC. Standing six-and-a-half feet tall, made from 44,051 bricks and a total of 270 hours of construction is the Dark Knight himself, Batman. This full size build clocks in at 225lbs.

In addition to Batman himself, Lego is also celebrating the 80th anniversary of Batman with a mosaic brick-build Detective Comics #1000 variant cover. This mosaic has 96,768 Lego elements and stands over ten feet tall.

Check out both Bat-builds below, and see them for yourself this weekend at SDCC.

Just a warning that the next selfie you might see on Instagram, or the next DM from twitter might just be from the King of Monsters himself – Godzilla. Godzilla has now entered the social media age, opening up accounts on both Instagram and Twitter.

Given Godzilla’s radioactive breath…it might be best to avoid any flame wars.

And if you’re at SDCC, be sure to drop by the Godzilla booth #3535.

In celebration of 80 years of Marvel Comics, Hasbro has recreated some comic book covers featuring a variety of Marvel Legends figures from the new Marvel Legends 80th Anniversary line, including Iron Man, Thor, Storm, Colossus and more (and by more, it’s a new Jean Grey).

During San Diego Comic-Con later this week, the covers that feature the Marvel Legends X-Men figures will be made available for free for guests during two poster giveaway sessions at the Hasbro Booth (#3213)! Giveaway sessions will take place Friday at 10:30am and Saturday at 4:30pm. During each session two of the four posters will be distributed. Fans can swing by the booth during these times to collect all four to create one large X-Men poster.

In addition, the Marvel Legends 80th Anniversary figures will be available for pre-order on Thursday, 7/18.

You can preview these posters below.

In celebration of the 80th anniversary, Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC Collectibles announced today that the 100th Batman Black and White statue in the popular ongoing DC Collectibles line will be unveiled at the forthcoming San Diego Comic-Con Museum on July 17. A special over 6-foot life-size version of the Todd McFarlane-designed statue will be revealed during a special ceremony recognizing DC’s iconic Super Hero, Batman, the inaugural inductee into the Comic-Con Museum Hall of Fame.

The milestone #100 statue is based off McFarlane’s own cover of Batman issue #423. As with the previous 99 in the series, McFarlane’s design, reinforces the core value of DC Collectibles to represent the printed page in 3D form and pays homage to Batman’s rich legacy.

Guests of the Museum will also have the rare opportunity to see the current 100-statue series throughout the week as part of The Batman Experience Powered by AT&T at the Comic-Con Museum in Balboa Park. Not only will #100 be revealed with its special life-size version, but #99 by Doug Mahnke will be making its first public appearance.

Following the Comic-Con Museum launch event titled, “The Gathering” which will feature a “black carpet reception,” the life-size #100 Black & White statue will be auctioned off with proceeds benefiting the Comic-Con Museum.

“To simply be a part of the 80th anniversary of a character that has always held such a special place in my heart is an honor,” McFarlane said. “But in designing this statue I truly feel like I’m adding to Batman’s legacy and in the process benefitting a hall of fame that will become an institution both for comic fans and the San Diego community.”

DC Collectibles will give fans even more super-sized experiences and opportunities during Comic-Con week with:

  •  DC Collectibles will hold its annual panel, moderated by Samm Levine, in Room 9 on July 18 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. PT. Led by Executive Creative Director Jim Fletcher, the panel will also consist of special guests Todd McFarlane and Jake Castorena. From limited edition statues and action figures to prop replicas, busts, and vinyls fans can join the DC Collectibles crew to hear the latest exclusive news about what’s coming and how each designer turns their amazing ideas into fan-favorite items.

  • DC Collectibles will once again highlight new and never before seen sculpts and figures on the Comic Con floor this year in the all new DC and WB mega booth #4545. A few of the notable items to be displayed will include:
    • Batman Black and White #99 and #100

With San Diego Comic-con right around the corner, I was thrilled when a box from Hasbro showed up at the AwesomeToyBlog HQ with the two Marvel Legends SDCC exclusives – the retro Toy Biz styled Incredible Hulk and the Grandmaster/Collector two-pack. Available at the HasbroPulse booth at the show (and online later), these three are sure to get plenty of attention at the show.

The gallery below showcases these exclusives, and while I’m not going to do a detailed review, a few things stand-out with the figures…firstly the retro carded Hulk is huge…the picture with Cap helps put that in perspective. It’s massive. And yes, has a crushed pipe. The Collector and Grandmaster set also does a great job in filling out your MCU Marvel Legends collection…the Grandmaster is excellent across the board. The Collector is also quite good, with an amazing amount of detail in his clothing. Really…just look over the pics and pick them up at SDCC or online after the show.

Huge thanks to the Hasbro team for sending these over!!

HASLAB, Hasbro’s crowd funding platform has one win under it’s belt with Jabba’s Sail Barge…and last week they annouced a project to bring Cookie Monster to homes everywhere. Today Hasbro went even bigger with the announcement of a new project – the planet sized, planet eating, Lord of Chaos, Unicron.

UNICRON stands alone as the most menacing figure in TRANSFORMERS lore, capable of devouring entire worlds and civilizations. He debuted in the 1986 film Transformers: The Movie and his insatiable appetite nearly brought the entire universe to its knees. But his legacy transcends both space and time.

The gigantic UNICRON would be the largest TRANSFORMERS figure ever created, taking the title from the previous record-holder, FORTRESS MAXIMUS. Artists and designers from Takara Tomy and Hasbro are working to capture the intricate details and features of the relentless Chaos Bringer to make this the most accurate UNICRON fans have ever seen.

In his immense robot mode, this version of UNICRON is over 27” tall and has more than 50 points of articulation. Includes fine pose-ability, such as movable eyes, fingers, mouth, and even teeth. He converts into a terrifying planet mode that is a stunning 30” in diameter. The planet mode features the iconic planet-eating jaws, geared to open so UNICRON can devour unassuming worlds. The planet mode also features a series of posable planetary rings. Comes with a stand for posing both planet & robot mode.

If this campaign is backed with a minimum 8,000 backers before August 31, 2019 at 11:59 PM EST, fans will be able to awaken the mighty UNICRON!

To support this campaign for TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON UNICRON head to the HASLAB tab on HasbroPulse.com.

TRANSFORMERS: WAR FOR CYBERTRON UNICRON (Age: 16+) is priced at $574.99 and will be available in early 2021.
