A Partial Solar (New Moon) Eclipse on July 13th at 3.48am (Irish time) and on the 12th at 10.48pm (EST) at 20’ Cancer 41
A Total Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon) on July 27th at 21.22 (Irish time) and 16.22 (EST) at 4’ Aquarius 45
A Partial Solar Eclipse (New Moon) on August 11th at 10.57am (Irish time) and 5.47am (EST) at 18’ Leo 42.
Where are they visible?
The second partial eclipse of 2018 will take place on July 13 and will be visible primarily over the ocean between Australia and Antarctica. The third solar eclipse of the year will take place on Aug. 11 and will swing over the North Pole. It will be visible from northern Europe, northern Asia and parts of eastern Asia – www.space.com
Why do these Eclipses Matter?
Eclipses can easily be described as an exaggerated New Moon or Full Moon, with the effects lasting weeks when partial and months when total. Although we are all likely to feel them on a collective level, whether they impact us or not on an individual level, depends on where they land in our birth chart, as well as whether they are visible in the sky above us. The closer eclipses aspect personal planets and/or angles, the more the eclipse core themes are likely to impact us in that area of our life.
Solar Eclipse in Cancer
Increased awareness and possible transformation of family dynamics past and present.
Awareness of gaps in childhood nurturing, offering the possibility of developing more ways of self-nurturing, leading to greater self-value and self-love.
Focusing on issues of commitment in intimate relationships, with a view to changing our usual modus operandi.
Some suggestions on ways to navigate this Eclipse:
Engage in self-nurturing – this will depend on the Sign, House and Aspects to your natal Moon.
Do something comforting and easy with loved ones.
Be aware of possible emotional see-sawing! It will pass!
Come back on the 26th for information on the core themes of the Lunar Eclipse on July 27th! MG

There are 3 major planetary events within a 12 hour time period, which are likely to bring dynamic changes in all our lives – particularly for anyone with personal planets and/or angles in Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius and/or Leo.
The New Moon in Taurus on May 15th
Uranus moving into Taurus on May 15th
The exact square between Mars and Uranus which has started already, but will be exact in Aquarius/Taurus on the 15th/16,th depending on your time zone
It’s going to be challenging to differentiate between all the above energies, so let’s start with the overall themes:
With Uranus changing sign into earthy Taurus after 7 years in fiery Aries, we are individually and collectively letting go of the Aries ideals and embracing a new phase of Taurean hopes, visions and potentials which will entail embracing change. By Nov 2018 when Uranus retrogrades back into Aries briefly, (until March 2019), we will get a flavor of what is likely to undergo change in our lives over the next 7 years. Some key Taurean areas include: money, land, the concept of home, security, values including self-value, body image, status and relationships.
By nature, Urananian energy is dynamic, sudden, conscious and progressive. It urges us forward through sudden unexpected moments of Airy enlightenment, similar to the fire shared with us by Prometheus in an effort to help us evolve as humans. Yet Taurus is an earthy grounded energy that seeks to maintain the status quo at all costs in a bid to retain stability and not plunge into the unconscious and hence ‘out of control’ depths of its opposite sign Scorpio.
Unlike Uranus in Aries where the energies were compatible, Uranus in Taurus is likely to generate some inner and outer conflicts between the regressive desire to maintain all as is and the progressive ‘nudge’ by Uranus to awaken and create radical unexpected innovative changes. Notice what houses Uranus in Taurus will be travelling through (as well as planets it’s aspecting) as these are the areas of your life where you will encounter both the instances of enlightenment and the inner conflicts between homeostasis and change.
The Uranian energy urges us to break free of the mundane limitations that hinder us from living out our highest potential. The highest potential of Taurus includes: creativity and beauty, nurturing and caring for our physical selves and for planet earth, creating a peaceful environment and ensuring everyone has the basics in life including food, shelter and safety… The challenge with Uranus is finding a way to experience our innate need for freedom whilst existing within a human body and existence that has intrinsic Saturnian limitations.
The New Moon in Taurus
This earthy New Moon takes place whilst Uranus is at the very last degrees of Aries, 4 hours before it moves into Taurus. Hence, although seeds of new beginnings are planted, they are couched in some major endings, particularly with the trine to Pluto/Mars by the New Moon. Looking at where this New Moon lands in your chart, can offer you some helpful information on what these endings and new beginnings are about for you.
Mars square Uranus
This square started on May 12,th with Mars in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries and will be exact in Aquarius/Taurus on the 15th/16th. Over this time period and into May 18th, our level of frustration at any blocks to Change, Enlightenment and Freedom are likely to feel unbearable. Hence, the urge to take action is paramount. Finding a way to channel this high voltage energy is important, as it can feel very harsh on our nervous system. Exercising in nature is likely to provide a helpful release.
The Uranus Cycle
For anyone with Uranus in Scorpio, this new 7 year cycle will include your Uranus opposition where your natal idealism and need for the absolute truth will be woken by transiting Uranus. If your natal Uranus is in Aquarius, you will be preparing for your first Uranus square, which is a powerful awakener of your idealization of equality. If your natal Aquarius is in Leo, you are preparing for your second Uranus square which is the start of the last phase of your Uranian journey around your chart and a chance to live out your idealization of individualism. If your natal Uranus is in Taurus, you are preparing for your Uranus return, which completes this first journey of Uranus around your chart in your lifetime. It’s the perfect time to assess how much you have been able to live out your ideals and potentials.
On a Mundane Level: Uranus was last in Taurus between 1934 and 1941! Financial issues were at the fore, as well as WW2 and changes in the role of women.
Some suggestions that may help over this 12 hour time frame:
Making a list of where you have been feeling restricted and constricted lately in your life. What might you do to free yourself up more in these areas?
What do you imagine your best potential to be in different areas of your life: creativity, work, relationships…
What action do you need to take to live out your best potential, as far as possible right now?
If you could wave a magic wand, what would you change in your life, at this moment in time?
On a practical note, the Mars/Uranus energy can be somewhat impatient and volatile, so it’s worth keeping calm when driving and being alert to our surroundings at all times and avoiding disagreements. MG

The fact of the matter is that our unconscious is wiser than we are about everything – M. Scott Peck
Scorpio and Pluto tend to conjure up apprehension, as they belong to the invisible realm of our unconscious. Yet, the essence of Scorpio is resilience, passion, tenacity and determination. Remembering that Mars is one of the rulers of Scorpio, the courageous warrior archetype is a key theme with this sign and hence for this Full Moon. Looking at which House this full moon lands in your natal chart, notice if there is something in that area of your life that you feel drawn to right now, to face and resolve.
Squaring the North and South Nodes in Leo and Aquarius, this Full Moon has a somewhat ‘fated’ quality about it. It’s worth noticing feelings, insights and events that may come to light 12 hours before and after this Full Moon, particularly in relation to any inner conflicts between your individual needs and the needs of the groups you belong to – family, community, culture, gender…What is it about these issues that feels so important right now? The sextile to Saturn invites you to manifest in a concrete way, some aspect of whatever surfaces from your emotional depths during this time.
Not forgetting also that Mars and Pluto are still conjunct within a degree, so this energy of transformation is still very powerful in our lives. The more we harness it in a conscious way, the greater the changes we can create in the area this conjunction lands in our natal chart.
Some things to do that may be helpful during this Full Moon:
Use whatever tools you are comfortable with to work with your unconscious – dream work, journaling, meditation, free association…
Spend some time by the ocean, swim in a warm pool, have a long relaxing candlelit bath…
Listen to music that touches your soul.
This is not likely to feel like a very social time, as deeper emotions may come to the surface. It’s an ideal time to spend some quiet time alone, or with trusted loved ones. MG
Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.
Chiron, has finally moved out of Pisces which he was travelling through since March 2011. With an elliptic orbit, Chiron which lies between the orbits of Saturn and Uranus, stays in some signs longer than others and Aries is a particularly long one. He will be in this first fiery sign of the zodiac until May 2027, (aside from a last visit back to Pisces from Oct 2018 – Feb 2019).
Based on the mythology attributed to this visitor to our solar system, there are several general archetypal themes to consider with Chiron:
The wise teacher.
The feeling of pain that can arise with Chiron transits is often related to an inner rejection, repression and disassociation from parts of ourselves that feel unformed and primitive. They are connected to the painful realization of the limitations of our human imperfections, versus our godly ideal of perfection (Saturn versus Uranus). Chiron reminds us that our spiritual journey on this planet is grounded in earthy matter, which by its nature includes challenges.
Some key differences between Chiron in Pisces and Chiron in Aries are as follows:
Chiron in Pisces:
The ending of another journey of Chiron through the zodiac.
An existential feeling of loneliness and abandonment due to a perceived sense of disconnection from source. Divine homesickness.
Confusing martyrdom with compassion and love.
Healing through faith and unconditional love.
Chiron in Aries:
The start of a new journey for Chiron through the zodiac.
A deep concern with fairness and truth.
The development of true courage, rather than aggression, in the face of injustice.
The integration of an authentic sense of a potent self, that is not based on false ego.
Independence and individuality, rooted in interdependence.
Healing through facing our internal truth, being couragous and owning our power.
Chiron was last in Aries between April 1968 and March 1977.
1968: the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King which increased a general awareness of the insidiousness of racism
In 1977 Harvey Milk, who was murdered in 1978, became one of the first openly gay officials in the USA, increasing the awareness of LGBT issues and homophobia. In the 70’s HIV was also coming to light, later killing thousands in the LGBT community and beyond and feeding the already rampant homophobia.
In July 1969 Neil Armstrong was the first man to walk on the Moon. His courage moved much of the world to tears.
In 1972 there was the Watergate scandal in the USA, where the truth came to light.
Previously Chiron was in Aries from April 1918 – March 1927
In 1919 Mussolini forged the fascist movement in Italy and became prime minister in 1922 later joining forces with Hitler’s nazi movement in Germany.
In Germany, Hitler’s rise to power also started in 1919, leading to his dictatorship and the extermination of approx. 20 million people, the majority were Jews and also included 5,000 – 13,000 gay people, as well as other minority groups.
Planetary transits work as a spiral, so as Chiron revisits the same place in the heavenly spheres yet again, it will unravel another layer of the key themes related to Aries that needs understanding, healing and integrating. As the other planets are also moving, the configurations in the sky will not be the same as they were during prior transits by Chiron so new permutations will arise individually and collectively to do with the key themes and issues.
Some suggestions of ways to apply it to our lives:
Take a look at where Aries is located in your birth chart and if you have planets there or in opposition, square, trine, sextile or quincunx Aries. Also note if you have Angles in Aries. All of these houses and planets will feel the energy of Chiron over the next 9 years.
If your Chiron is in Cancer you will experience your first Chiron square during this time, which will wake Chiron up in your chart.
If your Chiron is in Libra you will experience your Chiron opposition at this time. The key themes that were woken during your first Chiron square will become clearer now, so that you can work with them in more depth.
If your Chiron is in Capricorn, you will experience your second Chiron square which gives you an opportunity to focus more deeply on integrating issues that came to light during the previous two transits of Chiron.
If your natal Chiron is in Aries, you will experience your Chiron Return during this time. This is an opportunity to revisit, heal and integrate any areas of discomfort in this area of your life that came to light during the journey of Chiron around your chart. It is a major threshold crossing into a new ‘wise’ phase of life when our focus on offering something back to the wider community becomes stronger. MG

There are 3 major planetary events in 3 days:
15th – Mercury stationary direct
16th – The New Moon conjunct Uranus
17th – Chiron moves into Aries
Get ready for change! If you have been feeling stuck, this New Moon is likely to ‘shake, rattle and roll’ the stuckness, as new beginnings arrive at last! Sitting right next to Uranus and squaring Pluto, which is conjunct Mars in Capricorn, it’s likely to be ‘out with the old and in with the new’. Notice also that there is not a drop of Air in the sky, aside from the South Node in Aquarius, so it may not be easy to stand back and see the bigger picture until later in the week, when the Moon moves into Gemini and Mercury marches ahead.
The energy of this planetary stellium is highly impatient and easily frustrated if the possibility of moving forward is thwarted in any way. Notice where it lands in your birth chart, as this is where you are more likely to feel the urge for urgent, innovative, radical change. For example if it lands in your 11th house it may concern groups you are involved with, including friendships and family groups. In the 4th it is about home and roots…
With Pluto in the mix, there is a sense of uprooting old restraints, restrictions and inhibitions that may no longer be needed. With Chiron at the very last degree of Pisces, moving into Aries after the New Moon, there is an opportunity to put to rest the dying embers of old grief. Although Chiron will revisit Pisces once again for a few months from Oct 2018 – Feb 2019, it is unlikely to feel as challenging as it has done for the past few weeks, as it will be doing one last sweep over old ground, rather than digging up new concerns.
Some things to do that may be helpful for this New Moon:
Physical exercise – outdoors if possible, to help discharge the powerful energies of the Aries stellium which can feel challenging for our nervous system. Being outdoors can also help ground the energies.
Maintaining conscious awareness at all times of our behavior, to avoid impulsive unwarranted reactions that may hurt ourselves or others. Conscious breathing can help slow everything down – at least a tiny bit!
Avoiding restrictions. Being in open spaces if at all possible, can enhance a sense of internal and external freedom.
Minimizing duties if at all feasible, as we are unlikely to respond well to any limitations today.
Spending some time planning something radically new and exciting. Planetary energies love us to work with them. Even a new haircut or outfit can help express something new within us. Which areas of your life need a good spring cleaning? What seeds would you like to plant today? MG
We can’t be so desperate for love that we forget where we can always find it; within.
― Alexandra Elle
Venusian energy abounds today, with this Full Moon in Libra reminding us that relationships are at the core of everything in our lives and when they are out of balance, it’s not easy to maintain our center. Yet this is what we are invited to do, to find somewhere inside us where our self-value resides – in spite of whatever is going on around us. In spite of the injustices we see on the News every day. In spite of whether we feel loved or not in our relationships. In spite of the confused feelings that are surfacing from the deep recesses of our unconscious into the light of the Full Moon…
With Venus moving into Taurus at the same time as the Full Moon in Libra, the duality of Venus as ruler of both Taurus and Libra comes to the fore today and will remain as a powerful energy throughout the first half of April. It also brings us a taster of the powerful changes in energy that will take place when Uranus moves into Taurus on May 15th.
Today our psyche is imbibed with Venus in Taurus as the sensual lover who at her most expansive, recognizes the natural beauty of our planet and seeks to build tranquility and peace. Yet, at her most limited, the importance of accumulating money, can easily outweigh the cost to nature and loved ones. We also have Venus as the weighing scales of justice in Libra, who at her most expansive can easily mediate to find a peaceful resolution to injustices in our inner and outer world. However, at her most limited she can seek to impose her desires based on ego and vanity, even on those she loves. Today a version of these themes may surface in your life depending on where this Full Moon lands in your birth chart.
With Uranus at the last degrees of Aries, as it prepares to move into Taurus, powerful Venusian energies that have been suppressed, repressed and severely violated for centuries throughout the planet, are coming to the fore, with women and young people leading marches for basic human rights. Chief amongst these is the Venusian sanctity of our body to be safe from violations of any sort, whether it’s through sexual, physical or emotional violence, on the basis of race, gender, sexuality, religion etc. (More on this in future blogs).
The square by the Full Moon to Mars/Saturn in Capricorn, invites us to take initial steps towards manifesting some changes as a result of these lunar energies. Notice where and what you are drawn to emotionally. With Mercury Retrograde conjunct the Sun in Aries we may struggle somewhat to express the feelings that are coming into our consciousness right now. Writing them may feel easier than spoken communication.
You are more likely to resonate with this Full Moon if your Sun, Moon and/or angles are in Libra, Aries, Capricorn and/or Cancer.
The sextile to the North Node brings us back once more to our heart. If in doubt – always tune into our heart energy – what is my heart telling me right now? MG
Cry. Forgive. Learn. Move on. Let your tears water the seeds of your future happiness.
― Steve Maraboli
This ‘New’ Moon conjunct Chiron invites us to clear out a lot of old emotional baggage, so that we can lighten up and take action when Chiron finally moves into Aries next month.
With a square to Mars at the very last degree of Sagittarius, we are likely to feel somewhat impatient and frustrated about revisiting old sadness and grief that we thought was done and dusted! Yet the trine to Jupiter in Scorpio encourages us to dig a little deeper and explore what is really going on beneath our initial emotions. Chances are that it is not what it appears to be on the surface. Notice which house in your birth chart Jupiter is travelling through, as well as the house this New Moon lands in, as they will give you helpful information about what your feelings today may be really about. This is also likely to become clearer over the next few days as the New Moon seeds begin to grow.
In the meantime, the Venus/Mercury conjunction in Aries, trine the Leo North Node injects some fiery hope and optimism into the New Moon energies and we are encouraged to open up our heart energies with our nearest and dearest – and maybe someone new! They are also a lovely reminder that new beginnings always follow endings and the more we release and let go pockets of old pain and grief; the more able we will be to engage with ourselves and others in a new way. The key with this Pisces New Moon is to allow ourselves to swim through the painful emotions without trying to bypass or avoid them, trusting that there is a rainbow on the other side of the tears.
Some suggestions that may help with these New Moon energies:
Finding a peaceful place at home or in nature where you feel safe and contained if grief come to the surface.
Keeping a creative medium nearby to express yourself – pen and paper, crayons, musical instruments…
Listening to some soothing gentle music.
Walking by the ocean.
Reading poetry and/or spiritual books, blogs…
Using substance (alcohol, pills, drugs, sugar etc.) can be tempting to try and avoid pain with such powerful Piscean and Chironian energies around. However, substances can be particularly powerful with these transits, particularly for anyone who has a watery chart and is very sensitive and intuitive. Allowing the feelings to surface and releasing them via tears is likely to feel a lot better right now than trying to suppress them. Forgiving ourselves and others allows us to move on. Hugs are great and one of the best ways of opening our heart. So whatever else you do on this St. Patrick’s New Moon day – have a look around you for someone or something to hug – lover, friend, family, dog, cat, tree…J MG
Love…love is the only thing that doesn’t hurt. So many people are afraid of it. But love doesn’t hurt. Love heals. Love puts back together things that were broken before.
― Laura Kaye
Before delving into the core themes of this Full Moon, it’s worth taking a quick look at what was going on for you emotionally on September 6th 2017. There was a Full Moon at 13’ Pisces that day, which is at the same degree as Neptune today – conjunct the Sun (within 2’). With today’s Virgo Moon opposing these points, it’s a great opportunity to analyze what came to the surface for you last September, as some of it may resurface again today, so that you can finally release it once there is a clear understanding of what it’s all about.
Virgo is all about discernment and analysis, not just for the sake of it, but for the greater purpose of understanding the component parts, so that we can more easily digest them in manageable pieces without feeling overwhelmed. The key with Virgo Full Moons is to notice when we start getting self-judgmental and to stop the judgement in its tracks. The more grounded and compassionate we are towards ourselves, the less we tend to be judgmental.
Notice where the Sun/Neptune in Pisces lands in your chart as this is the area where past and current issues are likely to surface for you today. For e.g. in the 11th House – they may be connected to family, friends and/or other groups/tribes you are a part of. The placement of the Full Moon is where you can most easily tune into your feelings and process them. For e.g. in the 6th House – through your work.
With Jupiter trine Venus/Mercury in Pisces, romance may well be in the air. If it is, it’s likely to be a twin soul or soulmate connection as unconditional love is a key element. Notice what draws you to whoever is knocking on your heart right now. Who are you daydreaming about and who do you fall asleep thinking about? Notice how your heart feels when you think about them now. More on this on our ‘Relationship and Astrology’ blog on Friday at https://www.facebook.com/Relationships-and-Astrology-1084187468316035/
Some core themes that may emerge with this full moon include:
1. Your spiritual and philosophical beliefs
2. Your creative expression. Are there more ways you would like to express your creativity?
3. Unconditional love – what does this mean to you. Who do you love unconditionally?
4. Losses which may not have been fully grieved yet. What might help you do so in a supportive and compassionate manner?
Some things that may be helpful today include:
Meditating, singing, chanting…
Being creative in whatever way you most enjoy – painting, writing…
Listening to music.
Being by or in water.
Some time to do nothing.
Loving – ultimately it’s the only thing that heals us and that truly matters.
Be Natural at Heart and New in mind

On Thursday we will experience the last Eclipse of our first Eclipse Season of 2018 and it is directly opposite the position of the Total Solar Eclipse of Aug 21st 2017.
The good news is that this Eclipse may help us to get a better understanding of some of the issues that came to light just before, during and immediately after, the Aug 21st Eclipse. Whereas the last Eclipse was in fiery, individualistic Leo, this one is exactly opposite in airy detached Aquarius, thus enabling us to get a glimpse of the bigger picture that emerged from the total darkness in August. Aquarius has the great capacity to observe patterns and not get too caught up in details, whereas Leo is much more focused on a goal.
The duality of heart (Leo) and mind (Aquarius), as well as individuality (Leo) and the collective (Aquarius), is often applied to these opposing signs. Playing with this possibility a little, it may be helpful to look back to Aug 2017 and notice if there were some changes to your emotional heart – did it open more? Did some old emotional pain come to the surface and clear out? Was this challenging to your mind? What part did this play in your personal journey of individuation from your family and tribe?
The next step is to observe if you notice any patterns coming to light in the Eclipse on Thursday, particularly related to your sense of self, as well as your role in your community and the greater collective. How does this tie in with your experiences in August? Are you feeling a greater sense of integration between your heart and your mind?
With the Sun conjunct Mercury and exactly sextile Uranus, the potential is high for sudden flashes of understanding and inspiration to do with the Aug eclipse, particularly if your Sun, Moon and/or angles are between 23’ and 29’ Aries, Libra, Capricorn and/or Cancer. With Mars trining/sexting the Nodes in Leo/Aquarius awakening the above eclipse themes is doubly emphasized.
The Sabian symbol for this Eclipse is:
‘A Tree Felled And Sawed To Ensure A Supply Of Wood For The Winter’. My interpretation is that the internal work we do during this Eclipse will be very helpful and nurturing during times ahead.
According to Dr. Bernadette Brady this Eclipse belongs to Saros Series 1 South which she describes as:
‘Concerned with ideas and their enthusiastic expression. If this eclipse affects your chart, you will be flooded with ideas or options. There may seem to be an element of haste, but if you can go with the new ideas, they will have positive outcomes.’ Predictive Astrology pgs. 308 – 309
The Partial Eclipse will be visible in southern South America, including many locations in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay, and in Antarctica. The eclipse will also be visible from some areas of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Eclipses can coincide with natural and mundane events in the areas it is visible so it is not usually advisable to look at them. MG
You integrate something by first of all accepting it. To resist any aspect of your past is to keep yourself fragmented… To become whole within yourself, you must treat each and every experience that you have and ever will have as simply a stepping stone because there’s always a bigger picture.
― Craig Krishna
So here we are at the initial Eclipse of the first of two yearly Eclipse seasons. There are several noteworthy things about this one:
It’s a total lunar eclipse (visible at least in part in North/East Europe, Asia, Australia, North/East Africa, North America, North/West South America, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Arctic, Antarctica). It will not be visible in Ireland.
It’s a Blue Moon – 2nd Eclipse in the same month which can be a little tiring.
It’s a Supermoon – because the Moon’s perigee coincides with the Full Moon, it will appear closer than usual to the Earth and hence look and feel particularly big. The closer any planetary/stellar energies are to us, the more strongly we feel their energies – particularly for anyone with strong Cancer Moon, Sun or/and Ascendant. Leo Sun, Moon and Ascendant are also likely to feel this Eclipse particularly strongly.
The last blue Moon lunar eclipse was on March 31, 1866! The next one will be on Dec. 31, 2028.
Eclipses repeat themselves approx. every 18 years. So the previous Lunar Eclipse (Annular) at this same degree was on Jan 31st 1999 at 11’ Leo 20. It’s well worth giving some thought to what was going on in your life at that time. Although circumstances and other planetary alignments will be different this time round of course, the current eclipse may offer the opportunity to clear and/or integrate a further layer of whatever came to the surface emotionally for you in Jan 1999.
Fundamentally Lunar Eclipses feel like a bigger and more powerful Full Moon and last for a few months, rather than a couple of weeks. Whereas with a Full Moon we are aware of at least some of the unresolved feelings that are surfacing from our unconscious, with an Eclipse, whatever is surfacing is eclipsed, so we may feel a sense of discomfort and unease without initially being able to identify what it is.
As with any Full Moon, the key is to find a way for each of us internally to stand in the pivot point between the Full Moon/North Node and the opposing Sun/South Node and in this case – Venus. The polarity is between Leo and Aquarius – our individual feelings and needs, versus the collective requirements and values. Both can work well together if the Leo heart combines with the Aquarian idealism. The challenge arises if ego is mistaken for heart and if idealism is replaced with dogmatism. Help can come from the signs squaring the Eclipse which are Taurus and Scorpio. Taurus invites us to ground ourselves in our body and in the earth and Scorpio nudges us to be ruthlessly truthful with ourselves and others.
To better grasp what this Eclipse means for you, have a look at which natal houses of your chart the opposition lands in. This will describe the areas of your life where the emotional integration is being activated. For e.g. the Moon/Nth Node in Leo in the 1s house of your chart will oppose the Sun/Venus/Sth Node in your 7th house. The integration will be between some aspects of how you approach and view life and how you are in relationship with others.
The Sabian symbols (many thanks Lynda Hill), for the Leo Moon is: ‘An evening lawn party of adults.’
My interpretation is that although the Leo Moon is usually playful and spontaneous, this Eclipse requires us to contain ourselves and remain in adult mode. Observing what is going on around us in a polite way may be helpful, particularly with Mercury at the critical 29’ which can sometimes lead to challenges in communication. The Sabian symbol for the Sun: ‘People on a vast staircase, graduated upwards,’ may be a reminder that we are all on the same path, even though we are individuals.

This heart meditation by Deepak Chopra may be helpful before, during and after the Eclipse.
For just this moment, let go of your thoughts and the outside world.
Focus your attention on your spiritual heart center, in the middle of your chest, and be aware of your heart as a space. The heart center is a point of awareness where feelings enter. In its essence, the heart is pure emptiness, pervaded by peace and a subtle light. This light may appear as white, gold, pale pink, or blue. But don’t strain to find a light of any kind. All you need to feel is whatever is there.
Resting your attention easily on your heart center, breathe gently and sense your breath flowing into your heart. You may want to visualize a soft, pastel light or coolness pervading the chest.
Let your breath go in and out, and as it does, ask your heart what it needs to say. Don’t phrase this as an order; just have the faint intention that you want your heart to express itself.
For the next 5 or 10 minutes, sit and listen. Your heart will begin to release emotions, memories, wishes, fears, and dreams long stored inside. As it does, you will find yourself paying attention.
You may have a flash of strong emotion—positive or negative—or a forgotten memory. Your breathing may change. You may gasp, sigh, or feel tears come into your eyes. Let the experience be what it is. If you daydream or drift off into sleep, don’t worry. Just bring your attention back to your heart center.
The Heart’s Message Is Perfect
Whether it speaks to you in sadness or fear, delight or pleasure, its message is exactly what you need. If voices of anger, worry, or doubt start to arise, allow them to speak and then let them go, easily and comfortably. You are learning to be with your heart in order to heed its spiritual meaning—this is meditation. You are letting repressed material come up to be released—this is purification. You are listening to your heart without judgment—this is attention.
As you practice this meditation, spending a few minutes each day to connect with your heart center, you will begin to get glimpses of your heart as it really is: silence, peace, a warm glow, or subtle light. Even if these glimpses are fleeting, you will find that your life outside of meditation is starting to change. At unexpected moments, you will feel a wave of joy and well-being sweep over you. You will begin to walk with more buoyancy in your step.
