Summer is in full swing in the south, to say the least! Staying cool in this heat is a must. Dresses are by far the easiest way to accomplish that. I find myself changes all day. Breastfeeding and dresses don’t really pair well. But I can’t stop them. I love to throw on a dress to run all my errands and then at home around the house I’m in comfy pants and a tee. Since my wardrobe is on an ever changing rotation, I wanted to share summer outfits under $100. I also find it is a little easier to wear mommy and me outfits if it’s a top and a bottom.
Easy finds under $100
I wanted to make sure to find lots of options for every style. Rather it’s a casual look, dressed up look or the shorts lover. I’m full of ideas. Shein has some super adorable sun dress and I was also able to find some GREAT finds on sale at Revolve. Hurry though. Revolve sells out fast.
Windsor is also a great spot to shop for fashionable pieces that wont break the bank. My entire outfit is from there. I need to do a blog post for you all about my personal experience with them. I think it will answer a lot of questions you have asked me and put you at ease when shopping there.
Aaaaah! Safari style is such a refreshing look that never seems to fade out. Think about it. When’s the last time you could say, “this isn’t a cool look?” While some ways you wear this look may adjust through out time, the over all feel will forever remain strong. I have a few staple tops and pants that I simply can’t seem to break away from. They are so old but still remain my favorites.
What makes a safari style even better is you can invest in some good pieces. Maybe you’ve been eyeing that trench coat, or dress with large buttons. Safari hats are even a cute way to amp up a look. When it comes to pulling off the jungle inside of you, just make sure you stick to warm neutrals. Also think about suede, belts, fringe, metal and don’t forget to add a hat.

If you’re not ready to invest in the safari style yet, one great way you can start this trend in your life and see if it feels good on it to shop Shein! They always have tons of cute pieces and it won’t break the bank. Of course what I think you will find out about this style is that it’s a great investment in your wardrobe. But if you’re like me, maybe it’s easier to start off small and go from there. Once I find something I love, then I invest! And then I try to not wear it every day on my Instagram! Take a look at this short trench coat. It’s only $26. It’s a great place to start.
On the other hand, if you are ready to invest take a look at Shopbop. Click on the link and it will take you straight to all that they have in the safari style.
Lots of Q about the online boutique Shein. Answering those questions so that next time you shop there you’ll know what to expect. Shein has always been a fun place to hunt for an inexpensive trends. As a blogger it’s great because they have lots of stock and you’re sure to get what you want after someone shares their great findings. I compare them to forever 21. The difference is just that, Shein doesn’t sell out by one post! Good news for all of us.
A question I often get is, “Do you trust them?” My answer is, “yes.” I’ve both received gifted items from them, as well as purchased items. Both experiences have been good.
The only negative thing (and it’s actually not all that bad) is shipping does take a little while. Typically I get my orders in 7-14 days. So, if you’re looking to have something arrive over night then Shein probably isn’t the place to order from.
Another question I often get is about Shein product itself. For me the product is the same quality or better than companies like Forever 21 or Lush (Nordstrom brand) and Treasure & Bond (also from Nordstrom). Prices are about close to that price point. This brings me back to my earlier point, and that’s the fact there is a lot in stock so don’t feel like you have to rush to order. I say that, now watch one of my posts pieces sale out, haha!
The last point I want to make is about sizing.
Some things need to be tailored but to be truthful with you, I do that with a lot of my clothes. That may just be me though. So, you’ll have to judge for yourself when you shop. Often times others will buy the item and add their image to the page where you can see how it looks on. This is a really great feature I’ve somewhat rely on. For the times when there aren’t images I go xs or small. As in my bio, I am 5’3 and 106 lbs. Check out the blazer others have added to see exactly what I mean. Plenty of girls have purchased items then added images of them wearing it for you to see how it looks on. It’s a great concept and you’ll get a real look at some great finds.
Over all, I enjoy shopping with Shein. It’s a fun online boutique and for those that love a good deal…well this is OUR kind of store.
There is literally nothing better than a cozy robe in the evening or on the weekend (make it an all day thing on the weekend…why not?). Discovering Soma’s pajamas didn’t stop there for me. Now I’ve managed to start collecting their robes. Can that even be a thing?
Houston weather is so unpredictable. You never know if it’s gonna be hot or cold. Even when the weatherman says one or the other. That being the case is what makes Soma Cool Night robes a great find. They have a cool night technology that manages to keep you cool on warm nights and warm on cooler nights.
One thing that is an absolutely must for me when looking for a cozy robe is pockets. I don’t know why this is so difficult to find, but now that I found it I’m locked in.
So, if you’re ever in the market for a robe (and I don’t know why you wouldn’t be) then you must check out Soma’s line. You’ll thank me later. You’ll also love the price. It’s not gonna kill your budget for something so comfortable.
Cheers to a good glass of rose and lounging in your ROBE this weekend.
The title says it all. I love a good pair of pajamas like the rest of em’. However, all of mine have always been for looks only. Never was I able sleep in them. None were ever comfortable enough. That is until now! I’m here to sell you on the best pajamas by Soma. Let me get to all the reasons why.
I found the best pajamas by Soma
Typically I would start this conversation off by saying here is my favorite thing about Soma pajamas. However, I can’t do that. There are too many things to love about them. Let’s start with comfort. Out of all the pajamas I’ve ever had these are by far the softest. In the past when I’ve bought soft pajamas but in order for them to be soft they’ve always been really heavy and thick. That doesn’t work well when you live in Texas. Soma pjs are just the right weight and have an exclusive Cool Nights® fabric that feels cool against your skin offering comfort and the most restful sleep. Now that’s what I’m talking about!
Another huge point that has to be made about these, is when you’re laying down and sleeping somehow, someway they don’t rise and get bunched up. There’s a slight stretch to them that allows movement. Whoever designed these knew with they were doing. Sure the leg part will rise but not around the waist or in an uncomfortable way.
I hate when I buy pants and they dig into my sides from the waist band. This goes back to the exclusive cool nights fabric. The elastic is enough to hold up the pants or shorts up but not too tight. Adding another reason to why these are the most comfortable and best pajamas I’ve ever owned.
Let’s talk about prints, baby!
Now let’s talk about print. When I was shopping for a pair of pajamas I wanted something that wasn’t to child like, nor looked like it came out of my grandma‘s closet. Soma styles are classic, pretty, simple and ladylike. The two pair that I chose where colors I wanted to match my Christmas tree. Navy has a few outfits in this color too so I wanted to set up a mommy and me shoot for the holidays. Choosing was not easy. I could have one in every color, and every print, and in every style.
Something else I’ll let you guys know about, is a different variety of styles that you can choose from. Soma has short sleeve, long sleeve, shorts, pants, and nightgowns. There are lots of options depending on what style you prefer.
All in all and at the end of the day, when you go to bed nobody wants to change from their pre-pajamas into sleeping pajamas. Now we don’t have to. These pajamas are the most comfortable pajamas I’ve ever had. Don’t just take my word for it. Try them out for yourself. Get back to me and let me know what you think! I wouldn’t steer you wrong.
Gift giving for the holidays
Soma is a place where any women not only looks good but it’s a brand that makes you feel good. I can image that their pajamas are a fan favorite for holiday gifting. Many people don’t know that Soma’s Cool Nights pajamas so this is sure to be a great gift. Here are some of my favorite, festive holiday styles:
Back when I asked you all about mommy and me outfits you all sent in some great spots. I spent hours researching and got caught in the internet warp zone of baby and children’s clothing store research. I decided I couldn’t dare keep these to myself. So, here are 8 of my favorite children’s boutiques. I’m sure there are lots more and as I find them…I’ll be sure to share them down the road.
Smallable: I love the variety of clothes. From classic chic to casual and even a little hippie-ish styles are all available. Also, make sure you check out the sale items too. There’s lots to choose from.
Joule: When you typically see a small baby or toddler this is what you will most likely see him or her in. Cute prints with cats, dinosaurs and sweet children images.
Melijoe: For designer clothes. They high end and lower end but all brand names. I know this isn’t for everyone but great for a gift (when you know that mommy won’t buy it for herself) or for a special occasion. It could be for baby’s dedication at church, birthday or holidays. A splurge here and there is allowed.
8 Of My Favorite Children’s Boutiques
Moisonette: What I love about this online store is they have more than just clothes. And you won’t want to miss their sale side. Always great items and it’s ever changing. Out of the 8 of my favorite children’s boutiques this one is one you’ll want to check out!
Jacardi Paris: By far one of my favorites. You know I love anything Paris and European. This store is based in Paris and is quintessential place to shop.
Leotudes: This is a girls only site. The first thing that comes to mind is how this is the perfect gift. Leotudes specializes in leotards you can personalize with a child’s name. I just ordered Navy one in dusty pink with her name in cursive. She’s already so cute…this will be like adding icing to a cake.
NOTE!! 15% discount code: ashleenavy: If you want it before Christmas you will need to order by Nov 15th. If you want it by the end of the year, order by November 26th.
Children Salon: Put this on top of my list for best children’s clothes. I am in love with this store. I did notice that a lot of the smaller sizes are sold out so you may want to sign up for their mailing list to get in on the good stuff early.
Spearmint: Aaaa….you KNOW I love this store. First of all you’ve seen Navy in a lot of Spearmint clothes. I love the in house line. When ordering you’ll want to size up. Best to do so…even if it’s too big, you know you’re little one will grow into it. I bought navy some pieces and they were almost too small. You can also wash this brand and it won’t shrink. I don’t know about all the brands the store carries but the Spearmint line, you can wash and dry.
As much as I am an influencer, you guys influence me too. I can always rely on you guys to give me the best advice and go to places. This time you shared with me the best places to buy mommy and me outfits… for me and my sweet little Navy Lee. There are so many good ideas that I had to share with you.
Who knew there were this many options? I noticed that most of the places you mentioned are for a girl mommy‘s but not necessarily for boy moms. Although that doesn’t mean they’re not out there. Below are a few for dads too, just not as many. There’s a great blogger that I follow who does a lot of boy and mommy matching outfits. Her name is Madison Nelson. If you need boy-mommy inspiration, she is by far one of the best to follow. I follow her simply because she’s adorable. Even if you’re not a mom she will inspire you with fun fashion, make up ideas and hair tutorials. Worth the follow.
Moving right along to list all the finds. This should keep you busy for a while. Enjoy and if you you of more places, please list them below and I’ll add them to the list!
Mommy and Me
Old Navy: Not only do they have outfits for girls but boys and dads too. Essentially you can get the whole family in matching looks…including shoes.
Hannah Anderson: Best family matching pajamas with lots of colorful options. You can find a way to celebrate each holiday.
PatPat: What I love is there’s more than the average here. Easy shopping too. When you land on the page you choose your size and baby size. No going back and forth searching. Lots and lots of options and at Target prices!!
Little Mia Belle: This is an Etsy store where you can find budget friendly, casual wear.
Made by Jennifer: Easy shopping and is another Etsy store you all shared with me. It’s great to support smaller businesses!
Chasing Fireflies: If you love to personalize pajamas then this is the spot to do so. They stand out a little more than your average sets. Another way they stood out to me was the daddy and me looks they carry as well.
Sav Labrant: I LOVE these little rompers. Once Navy is a little bigger. I’ll be all over this.
K Sisters: Precious little boutique. Classic southern looks. If you’re going to any event or even to church, these looks would be great to have.

Today’s post is for all my pregnant mama’s to be. It’s all about my favorite pregnancy jumpsuit. You’ve seen me in this on my Instagram several times. At the very beginning of being pregnant I came across the brand Hatch. Immediately I was in love with everything they have. The line reminds me of something I’d wear in New York or the Hampton during the summer. There are so many dresses in my closet that I wore before getting pregnant so this is a nice change of pace.
Can you believe I am 32 weeks pregnant this week? This time has flown by. It didn’t help sinking in when I wasn’t showing until about 27 weeks. I have to say I’ve loved, way more than I thought I would, being pregnant in the spring/summer time. At first, I couldn’t imagine being hot and preggers! But it hasn’t been all that bad. I’ve been able to go to the pool for the first time in my life and not feel self conscious, haha! Insert another reason I love this jumpsuit is it’s cool enough to wear in these hot summer days.
Wearing my favorite pregnancy jumpsuit before and after #bAAbywilliams
What makes this my favorite pregnancy jumpsuit is you can wear it no matter how far along you are in your pregnancy. #bAAbywilliams will be born in September 2018, just around the corner from fall. Pair this jumpsuit with a cute, lightweight turtle neck or off the shoulder tube top and it’s perfect for after baby. I’ll be wearing this in the fall time while nursing and before I start working on getting my body back into what it looked like before baby.
All around jumpsuits are great for mamas to be. You’re sure to get a lot of wear out of it.
Here are some other Hatch jumpsuits I’m in love with
#1 maternity leggings, and I’m not just saying this because I love the creator/owner but because I actually love the leggings. From the first day I started blogging I have been wearing RUNE NYC. It was a no brainer to invest in these when I got pregnant. Finding maternity denim has been a real struggle for me. I’m still on the hunt for the perfect pair…in black, light denim and distress so that will be coming soon to the blog here.
Reasons Rune NYC is my pick for #1 maternity leggings
Until then, Rune you have my heart. These high waisted fit over any size bump and go so high that when you wear a tight top you don’t see the top of the band. Another thing I’m not a fan of with other leggings.
I also love the detailing. Not every legging is created equal and while Emily (the owner of Rune) has created a basic legging, it is fun to have something for this short period of time in life, that adds a little flair. My personal favorite is the pair with the zippers at the bottom. If you live in a cooler climate then you have to get the black pair with the faux leather down the side. I love for the non-maternity pair of these during winter time.
The last but not the least important fact I love about my leggings is the material. I never knew being pregnant would pull this evil side of me out. But I have become the pickiest human when it comes to the way clothes feel on me. They can’t be too tight or I get nauseous, as I mentioned in my first pregnancy post a while back. Well, that hasn’t changed. If the material is too light weight then the pants fall right off me. This is a fine line of which Rune NYC hit the mark. Even though the material is a bit thicker it isn’t too hot for the heat we have in Houston.
All in all, I love these leggings and are worth having a pair in every style. And btw, this isn’t a sponsored post. It’s raw, from my heart talk!
I’ve been loving anything seersucker! From men’s sport jacket to summer seersucker dresses. There’s even plenty of stripe options on my baby registry. Is it me or does this pattern give you the feeling of a picnic in a beautiful garden? Watching Southern Charm on Bravo has me feeling the seersucker and floral pattern vibes. I simply can’t get enough of this look to wear.
This isn’t the first time I’ve turned a non-maternity dress into a maternity one. Being that I haven’t gained a whole lot of weight, I am able to still pull off this look. Truth is, most things are actually fitting me now. No matter what stage of maternity you are in, I’ve found lots of options below for you. I even included some men slacks and baby outfits that are on my registry or in baby girls closet now.
