Kindred Spirits was formed in 1986 when Sally Korte and I began publishing books and patterns featuring embellished clothing, primitive stitcheries, hooked rugs, needle felted and punch needle projects along with many other folk art pieces. Sally and I were indeed Kindred Spirits, designing, teaching and lecturing nationally and internationally, growing a business that has brought recognition.
A great day here in Tipp City, OH. Sally and I started the eco dyeing workshop and can't wait to see how the ladies use their dyed wool to cover their journals tomorrow. After dyeing, time was spent on creating and embellishing inside pages and working on the extra fun kit. Photos of our journals, class in progress, and goodies found in different sewing bags. More tomorrow!
Finished up our workshop yesterday, with the ladies having terrific results, I know this project will be completed, with maybe some more eco dyeing done at home. Love spending time with these ladies. Until next time!!
It's been a wonderful time here in CA. Looks like I'm going to have 3 springs this year, the second here, then again once when I'm home in Ohio. My internet connection has been a little spotty this week, so just now posting some pics from the first of the week here in Bodega Bay, there will be more to come! As you can see it's a beautiful place to be!
What a great week teaching in Bodega Bay, CA. with Sharon Smith and her crew, heading home to OH. tomorrow. Lots of fun with fibers, fabrics and techniques, look forward to seeing these finished! Some show and tell in the mix as well, with close ups of some of the work. I love watching rugs evolve, and sharing new techniques with those that are trying them for the first time. Enjoy the pics!
Just finished up my first session with the lovely southern ladies of the Cresent Lane Hookers. Great show and tell, and wonderful work done on their patterns of choice. That heart continues to be a favorite. All set to start the second session tomorrow, more pice to come.
As always all good things must come to an end. Finished up today with the second group here in Athens and it's been great! Good starts on new projects and some wonderful show and tell, even had a special visitor. It's back to Dayton tomorrow!
