One evening I visited the Lounge at Address Downtown for Bijou Afternoon Tea. It was a windy day and hence I chose to sit indoors. The views from the restaurant were overlooking the Burj Khalifa. The staff made sure I settled well and then got my afternoon tea platter with my choice of drink. I chose Cappuccino for my drink. Bijou Afternoon Tea at the Lounge is a delightful treat of savoury and sweet delicacies, presented over a silver stand. The savoury and the sweet treats were delicious. I loved their variety of scones with the best quality clotted cream and jam. The sandwiches were yummy and the desserts were lip smacking. The afternoon tea is totally worth the price. The ambiance is lovely.

Price per person: AED 150 per person including a choice of TWG tea blends, coffee or soft beverages

I ordered via Zomato from 51 Rainbow Ice-cream in Karama. this was my very first time ordering ice-cream online. To my surprise the ice-cream was still perfect and not melted. I ordered for Rose Falooda, Pure Saffron Falooda and Chocolate thick Shake. All 3 were delicious. My order was delivered within the promised time frame and in perfect condition. The packaging was great. If you haven’t tried this place then you are missing out on some delicious Falooda’s.

A beautiful , cozy Cafe run by a mother daughter duo in Al Karama. I visited Ketli cafe for lunch. We started off with the Virgin Shirle temple which was so refreshing. The food I tried was delicious. The food is very comfort-home food style. We started off with Chicken Cheesy garlic bread which was unique. The garlic bread was crispy and the chicken in it was perfectly spiced and was cheesy. I then had the Potato Pathakas and Chicken Pathakas which were equally good.

We then had the Desi style Nachos. The speciality is that these nachos and the sauce is all made in house. The nachos were crisp and the salsa was perfect desi style. Then we had Spicy Chicken Paratha which had a nice filling inside the parathas.  The next dish we had was Chicken Stroganoff with rice. This was more like Chicken Manchurian gravy with white rice. It was nice. Our last main-course was White sauce penne pasta. The sauce is made in house and was creamy and good.

For the desserts we had Lotus biscoff Cheesecake which was presented so well and was delicious. The service is good and the food too. Will definitely visit again to try more from the menu.

Sugar Factory – making the world a sweeter place! Sugar Factory is a known world over for its celebrity endorsed Couture Pops. With several locations now operating around UAE, this American Brasserie has taken the hospitality industry by storm with an award-winning combination of upscale “sweets, treats & eats”. Sugar Factory has evolved as the coolest hangout spot in UAE. I visited Sugar Factory over the weekend during my visit to Abu Dhabi for a scrumptious breakfast with my family. The restaurant is located at WTC Mall, Abu Dhabi and has a spacious indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit outside as the weather was amazing. The ambience inside is beautiful and they do have a candy store as well. The staff here were accommodating and very helpful. Big shout out to Chef Bharat, Restaurant Manager Deepak, our servers Nelissa and Jagdish for their amazing customer service.

We started off with the signature Sugar Factory Goblets which were delicious. We tried Passion Punch and Berry Bliss.

As we were waiting for our breakfast order to be prepared we had Sugar Factory basket of bread with butter and marmalade which had a variety of bread in it. The bread was fresh, soft and went well with the butter and marmalade. We also had tea and Cappuccino with the breakfast.

Our mains were

  1. Waffle Benedict- Breakfast sausages with turkey ham, avocado, poached egg, cheese and hollandaise sauce served over warm waffle. the egg Benedict was too good.
  2. Sugar factory eggs Benedict- Two poached eggs with smoked beef bacon, Parmesan and creamed spinach served over sourdough bread. The best part was the creamy spinach which made the sourdough bread taste even more better. This was so filling.
  3. Breakfast Burrito-Scrambled egg, breakfast sausages, tomato, mushroom, beef bacon wrapped in a tortilla covered with cheese sauce.  They so so generous with the bacon serving in the burrito. I totally loved it.
  4. The American Breakfast-This was a proper american breakfast. It had three eggs cooked and served with Bacon, Chicken, Sausage,Potato Rostie, and Baked beans.
  5. Breakfast salad- A salad with diced crispy waffle, pancake, banana, mix berries, marshmallows, graham crackers topped with nutella and vanilla cream. I found this lip smacking. It was more of my dessert after a nice breakfast.
  6. Fanta Cake- This was such a delicious dessert. It was my first time trying a Fanta flavoured cake. Basically it was a carrot cake with fanta cream cheese with  candied ginger, lotus soil, freezer dried orange on the side and topped with manuka honey with passion fruit caviar and fanta nectar.

I had a delectable breakfast at Sugar Factory and cant wait to visit the outlets in Dubai. I recommend you try Sugar Factory for a more enjoyable breakfast experience.

My very first visit to “The Restaurant” which is a fine dining restaurant at Address Downtown and I couldn’t be more excited. The restaurant has breath-taking views of the Burj Khalifa and the fountain. This is a perfect place to spend your Friday brunch at. The Restaurant has launched a brand new brunch named as the “Britannia Brunch” which is inspired by British and European flavours, which offers a glorious menu of signature and popular international delights. The seating area is bright and huge. They also have an outdoor seating which is perfect for this winter season. I found the staff here very polite and helpful.

Britannia brunch is not like the other brunches where you have live stations and all the food on the buffet counter. Britannia Brunch at The Restaurant is very unique where they have a buffet which features an assortment of salads, breads, British mixed grills, Hotshots, mini sliders, seafood, sushi, a selection of cheese and cold cuts while the mains is served family style on the table. The dessert menu has a range of mouth-watering delicacies. They serve fruits infused water and also have a drinks trolley which has a selection of drinks and is made as per your choice.

We started off our brunch with the fresh fruits infused water which was served on our table and it was so refreshing. The buffet spread was marvellous and the counters were set up so beautifully. I picked up few mixed grill skewers, hot dog, scrambled egg, eggs Benedict,  mini sliders, sushi, cold cuts, and some bread to start my brunch with. The mains were served on our table which were lip smacking. I enjoyed the food thoroughly during my brunch. I have listed down the mains that were served on our table:

  • Beef roast with Yorkshire pudding and vegetables
  • Rotisserie Chicken and steamed veggies
  • Salmon Puff pastry
  • Cottage Pie
  • Ravioli
  • Mashed Potatoes

The desserts were luscious. The buffet counter also had some nice desserts like the chocolate cake, rice pudding, carrot cake and so on. The desserts served on the table were:

  • Apple Crumble
  • British sweet platter
  • Date Pudding
  • Ice-cream
  • Eton Mess

We finished off our brunch with a nice hot cup of tea. I would highly recommend the Britannia Brunch if your looking for a nice brunch with a good view.

The brunch timings and price is mentioned below:

Day & Time: Every Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM

Price per person: AED 295 per person including unlimited soft beverages, buffet style starters, family style à la carte mains and desserts; AED 395 per person including unlimited house beverages, buffet style starters, family style à la carte mains and desserts.

Ming’s Chamber inspired by the imperial lineage of the Mings, a formidable dynasty is an extraordinary restaurant located at Al Wahda Mall that serves some delicious Asian cuisine. Ming’s Chamber offers a great dining experience for an ardent Asian food lover. This was my very first visit to Ming’s Chamber and I must say I was truly impressed with their ambiance, service and of course the food. The staff here are so cheerful and helpful. The food was scrumptious and their portions are pretty big which can be easily shared.  The food prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food they serve.

Pam, The Restaurant Manager was very accommodating and gave us a brief about the Ming’s history and the food served and he was kind enough to help us decide on the best from the menu.

We started off with drinks which were freshly prepared and were refreshing.

  • Lychee Mojito (AED 18)
  • Passionfruit Lemonade (AED 18)
  • Mango Senencis (AED 18)
  • Fresh Mint Lemonade (AED 15)

Moving on to the appetizers, we tried the best few from the menu. Each and every appetizer we ordered was lip smacking.

  • Gyoza Gau Ji (AED 36) : Chicken and vegetable dumplings in Manchurian sauce. They were great.
  • Black Pepper Calamari (AED 38) : Crispy pepper calamari seasoned in soy glaze.
  • Hunan Lamb Chops (AED 58) : The lamb chops were perfectly cooked in the 5 rub sauce and were super juicy.
  • Sweet & Sticky Chicken Wings (AED 32) : Crispy chicken wings cooked in sweet and spicy sauce, tossed with sesame seeds.

And here are the Ming’s mains..

  • Chinese Chilli Chicken (AED 45) : Boneless Chicken meat wok seared with onions, peppers and chili-soy glaze. It was enjoyable and went well with the rice.
  • Mongolian Beef (AED 55) : Beef strips cooked in sweet soy sauce with green beans, mushrooms and scallions. The meat was perfectly cooked.
  • Egg Fried rice (AED 35) : Good portion and can be shared easily.
  • Nasi Goreng (AED 48) : This is an Indonesian speciality which has fried-rice with shrimps, chicken, vegetables, beef, and fried onion. It comes with a fried chicken piece on the side and sunny side up egg on top of the fried rice. Nasi Goreng was well prepared.
  • Mie Goreng (AED 48) : Another Indonesian speciality which has noodles with chicken, beef balls, shrimps and vegetables. This dish also comes with an sunny side up egg on top of the noodles and fried chicken on the side. Mie Goreng portion was quite huge and tasted divine,

Though I was super full with the drinks, appetizers and the mains, I for sure couldn’t leave this place without trying their mouth-watering desserts.

  • Dark Chocolate Brownie (AED 24) : The brownie is topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and was delightful.
  • Ube Pudding (AED 24) : This is a filipino delicacy made from purple yam. The use pudding was topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream as well. I loved it.
  • Nutella Cheese Cake (AED 24): Chocolate soil, Cheesecake with Nutella swirl at the top. This was flavourful.
  • Kopi Susu (AED 15) : This is an Indonesian delicacy where Kopi means Coffee and Susu means Milk. Here in Kopi susu, condensed milk is added at the bottom and coffee liquor at the top.

I cant wait for Ming’s to open in Dubai. It is now one of my favorite places for Asian food.

Roti rollers is a restaurant inspired by classic Indian street food. As Chef Samer said, Roti rollers is a modern space with modern fusion but has touches of exotic Indian heritage and taste. It was such an honor meeting Chef Samer who is so passionate about the food creation at Roti Rollers and aims at maintaining our Indian flavor in this modern menu. The food here has Indian taste to it and you feel so great about it when you have it. The food at Roti Rollers is healthy as they avoid starch and processed sugar and the roti’s are made in-house without any use of oil. The restaurant has a beautiful street style ambience and the staff here are very cheerful.

Talking about the food..

We started off with Roti crisps  (AED 10)with their homemade sauces which has minimal oil in them. I had Mango Lassi (AED 20) and Minty Lemonade (AED 20) for the drinks. The Mango Lassi was thick and perfectly sweet.

Chaat Platter: The beautifully plated Chaat platter had pani puri, dahi puri and sev puri. This was lip smacking.

Crispy Chicken wings (AED 35 for 6 pcs): I chose my wings to be Mild. The sauce was delicious and the wings were really crispy.

Pav Bhaji Fondue (AED 20): This was my first experience of a Pav Bhaji Fondue. The Bhaji was delicious topped with butter and the Pav was tossed in butter and was crisp. I loved the Pav Bhaji Fondue.

I also had a bowl (AED 60)with Biryani rice as the base with Chicken tikka with their best topping sauces and veggies. There were roti crisps on the side and some spicy tangy corn on the cob. The bowl was very filling.

I then tried their signature The Emiroti (AED 40) which is lamb kofta wrapped in a whole wheat roti and dressings were arabic garlic sauce, tahina, sumac and red onion. The wrap comes with potato fries and roti crisps and their signature sauce. The wrap was delicious and the lamb kofta inside was fresh and juicy.

Jalebi with Rabri: Tiny delicious jalebi’s with some fresh rabri were divine. The portion of jalebi’s is quite huge and can be easily shared between 2-3 people. I just couldn’t stop eating those yummy jalebi’s with rabri.

Ended our delicious meal with some nice Karak Chai (AED 10).

I loved our very first experience at Roti Rollers and can’t wait to be back to this amazing place.
