I received free admission and compensation in exchange for my unbiased review.  All opinions are 100% my own.

I grew up going to the circus, the traditional one, with lions, tigers, and bears..OH MY!  It wasn't something we even considered an issue.  I blame it on sheer ignorance.  I'm sure my mom didn't really think about the well being of the animals being used in the circus acts.  After all, they looked like they were being taken care of well enough.  The realization of animal cruelty in the entertainment industry really came into perspective for me as a teenager.  Since then, I have really  transitioned to a lifestyle that does not support exploitation of animals.

Enter Cirque Italia! 🎪 When I was given the opportunity to attend an animal free circus in my very own part of town I just couldn't pass it up.  As a family, we made a night of it, and headed to this magical spectacular.  Keep reading to hear all about the antics and impressive acrobatics we had the pleasure of experiencing at Cirque Italia in North Miami!!! 💜

As we made our way to our seats, childhood memories started to make their way to the surface.  It wasn't three rings, but this was better!  In the center of the space, one huge ring brought all eyes and all lights in to focus.  I want to say we spent a good part of the evening, not even wanting to blink!

Prior to the show getting underway, we were comically captivated by the likes of Alex the clown 🤡 Even my teenager was LOL'ing with his antics and his kooky sidekick! I would say they were just as entertaining as the acrobatic acts! These two made the transitions between acts totally fun and interactive!

We were equally impressed with the different acts of physical balance, endurance, and flexibility that we saw that night!  I must say I heard gasps come from my kids, ages 13 & 17, more than once!  The Wheel of Death had the entire audience on the edge of their seats...How did this guy not fall down?!?!  I think I heard a few prayers being uttered from the crowd!

The grand finale was a great act by an Italian team of stunt roller skaters.  Their speed and accuracy were amazing and their talent on the skates was definitely nothing to scoff at!  It also takes a lot of strength to make some of the feats we saw on that stage happen!  These performers are no joke!

The show itself was about two hours long with a 20 minute intermission.  Time flew by the whole night and I can definitely say we were never bored!  The big test is whether my 17 year old pulled out her phone to check Instagram...Guess what???  Not even once...well except for during the intermission! 📱

All in all, my family had an amazing time!  I highly recommend checking out Cirque Italia in North Miami.  It is in town until February 18th and totally take advantage of the coupon code FREE to get one free kid's ticket with every paying adult ticket!

Here's are some interesting tidbits and history about the show...

Beginning in 2017, Cirque Italia, the first traveling Water Circus, introduced a second unit, the Gold Unit: a luxurious experience where technology and preforming arts are mixed to create a one-of-a-kind show. Now for 2018, a brand-new performance has been created. With over 90% of their shows being sold out, they decided it was the best time to provide a substantial investment into doubling their presence at the national level. This new performance features an ultra-modern water curtain that controls every droplet of water meticulously. Audience members can expect to see words and beautiful patterns as the water falls to the ‘lagoon’ below. Cirque Italia is ready to provide a breathtaking experience. This new stage by itself is enough to amaze the most demanding audience, and synchronized with the most creative display of superhuman talent - the result is simply out of this world! The latest trends of the industry are challenged with every Cirque Italia appearance and this 2nd unit is not any different. A careful casting selection has united the best artists from all over the world. This production will feature acts all the way from Russia to Mexico. Cirque Italia believes in multi-culturalism as one of their strongest assets.

Packed full of incredible acts, there is no room for boredom. The variety presented is exceptional. For those who enjoy whimsy, they have an Avatar and not one, but two mermaids!!!  Hello???  You knew that peaked my interest 🐚  There is almost no bodily limit for their contortionist, Ricardo, as he bends in ways you never would have imagined. Their incredible wheel of death performance features a front somersault flip, something you will be hard-pressed to see anywhere else. If that doesn’t get your head spinning, perhaps their 5 roller skaters and their incredible tricks and turns will. And although Cirque Italia does not use animals in their performances, this year they will be featuring amazing life-like elephant puppets. They are so well made, you might just think they are real. Whether it’s a futuristic laser act or mesmerizing aerial performances, the show has something for all tastes and expectations. One thing Cirque Italia sets out to accomplish is to create a type of world-class entertainment suitable for all age groups. This new second unit also follows the same strict animal-free policy that makes the Water Circus stand out from other circus entertainment shows. The “magic touch” of the Italian entrepreneur Manuel Rebecchi, President and Owner of Cirque Italia, added to the flawless direction of the COO, Chanté DeMoustes, and has turned this once romantic project into a successful production known and acclaimed all over the country. Don’t miss the opportunity to be amazed and transported to a fantastic realm where your deepest dreams can, and will, come true.
