Ever heard of SAYA Designs??  Don’t feel bad if you haven’t.  It wasn’t until they reached out to me that I realized what I’ve been missing.

SAYA Designs is a women-owned business that creates handmade hair sticks.  But these aren’t just any hair sticks.  Nope.  These are made by Bali artisans.  They handcraft the hair accessories from root wood and pieces they can salvage from abandoned plantations in Indonesia.  Talk about turning trash into treasure!

If anyone knows anything about being a women-owned business that creates handcrafted designs, it’s me!  In addition to the fact that I’m always looking for ways to put my hair in a bun.  So, of course, I had to give it a try.

I selected one they named, The Barrette.  It is actually fun to wear.  I’m able to put my braids up into any style of bun I can think of.  And that’s not easy to do with braids!  I danced, worked out, and did everything you can imagine while wearing it and it didn’t budge.

The hair stick isn’t only nice to look at, but it also looks like it has a story to tell.  Like, maybe it was passed along to me from my grandmother or great Aunt.  I love, love, love pieces like that.

SAYA Designs takes their passion even further by planting up to 20 endangered tree species in the rainforest with each purchase.  There is nothing better than spending money knowing that some of its’ profit will go towards benefitting others in some way.

Thoughts on this gorgeous hair stick??  Would you rock this??  Let me know in the comments…

The well known saying, “There is a time and place for everything” can be applied in lots of areas including style.

For instance, you probably wouldn’t wear the same dress to work that you would wear to a nightclub or on date night. Right?

Just like you leave the stilettos at the crib when you’re going to Disney World.

Same applies with a cutout. If it’s in a certain place; it could be showing more than you need to (for the occasion).

That’s the main reason to appreciate a good cutout. It puts your assets on display with ease. The Keeping It Mod Dress proves my case.

The cutout is front of this dress is everything!

Date night, time out with your girls at happy hour makes this dress perfect for those occasions.

When your plans calls for a cutout, would you wear the Keeping It Mod Dress?? Let me know in the comments…

As a designer, one of the things I look for when shopping for new styles is prints.  Yes, I love bold solid colors too, don’t get me wrong.

But there’s something about a pretty, printed piece of fabric that does something to me.  When I go out searching for textiles to use in my designs, I’m always keeping my eye out for unique prints that stick out to me.  It is what I live for!

A great printed dress is a great way to help me to stand out from the rest.  I mean, you might be able to go get a printed dress from somewhere else, but will it be one that will be seen on everyone else, too?  From one fashionista to another, that sounds like the makings of a horror film.  Am I right?

Lucky for you, you don’t have to go out looking for these prints, I do all of that.  All you have to do is scroll and click.

Feast your eyes on just some of the gorgeous prints available from our Fashion Not Fear Collection.

We are only a few weeks away from the official start of Summer.  Summer ’19 official take off date is June 21st but we have had scorching hot and humid days in Texas for that last month or so.  Which is why I never know when Summer is supposed to start because it’s ALWAYS hot here.

Besides wearing my favorites combinations of sunnies and sundresses, taking road trips is one of my favorite things to do during this time of the year.  My fiancé and I will gas up the car, make a pit stop for a few snacks, and hit the road in a heartbeat.  As a matter of fact, we already taken 3 days trips within the month of May and we are only getting started.

Since I have so much experience with road trips, I thought I’d share with you some of the best places we have traveled to (by car) last Summer.  Hopefully, it will give you some plans on what to put on your agenda for this season.

Destination: Denver, Co

Reasons To Roadtrip There:

For Fitness Fanatics – Working up a serious sweat. From hiking trails, to stair climbing at the Red Rock, parks, cycling downtown…you name it.

For Foodies – The food is great. If you love sushi, then you will find loads of affordable places to eat yourself crazy.

For Budget Conscious – Not only can find good hotel prices.  But the free views right from the car is priceless.

For Those Looking For Warmth –  The weather during the Summer month is amazing. It’s warm without being ridiculous. However, the nights seem to feel cooler than usual to me.

For Those In Love With Mary Jane –  Smoke and enjoy edibles all you want (responsibly, of course.)  It’s legal.

Destination: Austin, Tx

Reasons To Roadtrip There:

For Fitness Fanatics – Take a run downtown that leads you around Lake Austin, Barton Springs, and more.  Plus, their downtown has these cool Uber bikes that you can rent for as little or as much time as you’d like.  So when you get tired, you can let the bike do the work.

For Foodies – This place is packed with food trucks!  One of my personal favorites, Arlo’s.

If Going Casual Is Your Thing –  You know those cities that you go to where you feel that you have to wear a short dress and heels all day??  Well, Austin isn’t one of those places.  Austin is seriously casual.  No matter your destination, that is something you don’t have to worry about.  Invest in a banging pair of sneakers or flats.  Wear them with the dressiest of dresses or baggiest of jeans.  You won’t regret it.

For The Budget Conscious –  You can plan an entire weekend on taking selfies by all of the amazing murals alone!  You don’t need money for that.

If You’re A Bar Hopper –  Two words…6th Street

 Destination: Panama City Beach, FL

For Fitness Fanatics –  Run on the beach

For Foodies –  Choose from an amazing selection of seafood by the beach
