These two Seiko watches have a classic off white patterned dial with a brown crocodile leather strap. The statement colour which gives these watches life on the case, indexes and hands is rose gold. The difference in size is due to the case width with the men's version being 40.4mm and the ladies version being 28.7mm. As well as this, the case thickness on the men's is 9.7mm, while the ladies version is 8mm.
Stylish Swiss-Made striking looking watches from Mondaine, feature a white dial with nickel polished hour markers. The red leather strap is detailed with quirky hole patterns, 5 along the men's version and 3 along the ladies version. The difference in case width is 40mm for the men's and 30mm for the ladies with only 0.5mm difference in case thickness. These watches also come in blue and yellow!

With a white pressed pattern dial, the touch of silver stands out beautifully. These watches would suit any occasion or even a wedding gift. The width of the men's case is 41mm, while the ladies case is 29mm. The bracelet of these watches have this striking design which I think stands out the most!

The beautiful new Prospex Twilight Blue watch from Seiko is inspired by the 1968 original diver’s watch. The re-creation of this watch uses a thinner uni-directional bezel, coated with titanium carbonate. Seiko have us all in awe again with this Limited Edition SPB097J1, with only 153 being sold within the UK.
The colour combinations presented on this watch are what really makes it stand out! With the black bezel sporting an orange insert, which marks the first 15 minutes of the diver’s scale. The deep blue sunburst dial with a brushed pattern, creates nice reflections and changing colours, adding touches of that stunning vibrant orange at the 5 minute markers and the second hand.
Twilight Blue has a 6R15 automatic movement, which beats at 21,600 times per hour, 6 beats per second. It is complete with 23 jewels and a 50 hour power reserve. Bringing the dial to life even more, is the premium curved sapphire crystal glass with an anti-reflective coating. This watch is accompanied by an extra black silicone strap.
I think the colour combinations of this watch are what wow me the most. The Orange Twilight sunshine reflecting and the beautiful blue sea. It’s a brave thing to use a range of colours on one piece that you want to resonate with a large audience, but this combination takes the cake! I love that with Seiko, even with a fantastic diver’s watch like this one, you can wear it for pretty much any occasion, especially with the handy extra strap making it even more accommodating.
The Official Swiss Railways Clock is one of the 20th centuries most iconic and lasting examples of modern Swiss-design and can be found on any Swiss train platform. It was created by Hans Hilfiker in 1944, which means as of 2019, it is now 75 YEARS OLD!
In 1986, the family-owned business of the Bernheim family – known as Mondaine, found a blueprint of the Official Swiss Railways Clock and managed to obtain the license. With this, they decided to minimise the design to wristwatch form and there, an icon was born. Mondaine is a simple, distinctive brand that is committed to accurate timekeeping.
To celebrate the iconic design’s 75th anniversary, Mondaine has created a special anniversary box containing the Mondaine classic in one of 2 size watches at either 30mm or 40mm. The box is decorated with a bold 75 and includes a specially commissioned history of the Official Swiss Railways Clock. As a special extra, the watch comes with an extra multi-coloured strap, featuring the three colours present in the watch itself – red, white and black. Even more exciting is that the extra strap is made from recycled PET bottles!
This is your chance to own one of the most recognisable watches on Swiss record!

Online Safety isn’t something to take as a risk. It is something that is an issue for adults as well as children and we must do the best we can to ensure we are not vulnerable to situations like fraud, identity theft and phishing.
Fraud is deliberate deception to secure unfair or unlawful gain. It can take the form of fraudulent letters, emails, telephone calls and faxes. It’s a common way for criminals to attempt to steal your money. Identity fraud is a similar concept, where a person steals your identity to obtain goods or services or to open a bank account, obtain credit cards, loans and state benefits, taking over existing accounts and obtaining genuine documents such as passports and driving licences in your name.
Identity Theft is when a person’s personal details are stolen, whether the person is dead or alive. They can do this in many ways including; finding bank/credit card statements or tax information in your post or trash, from your wallet or purse by taking your driving license, or credit or bank cards, and also from sharing your personal information on unsecured websites, in some cases, fraudsters may even skim your credit card information when you make a purchase.
Phishing is a common trick to gain personal information. This includes sending emails or creating sites that appear to be from a legitimate company and asking you to confirm personal information, such as bank account numbers, passwords, birth dates or addresses.
When it comes to protecting yourself whilst online shopping, here are the DO’S;
DO keep your privacy settings as high as possible.
DO be sure to keep a close eye on your account activity when using a credit card for online shopping. If you notice purchases that you haven’t made, contact your card company immediately.
DO use these tips when creating an account password; 8 or more characters, numbers as well as letters, special characters like %*@?, and both upper and lowercase letters.
DO keep your virus software and virus protection up to date.
DO look out for some of the tell signs that a website is secure e.g. padlock symbol before the website in the address bar, if you click on this padlock, you will be able to see a valid certificate, https:// at the beginning of the website address, and on certain browsers and websites, the address or address bar will turn green.
When it comes to protecting yourself whilst online shopping, here are the DON’TS;
DON’T post personal information online e.g. address, email address, phone number and bank details.
DON’T give out your passwords.
DON’T use the same passwords, if one account is hacked, the rest of your accounts are then vulnerable.
DON’T use any personal information that are easy for others to guess i.e. child/pet/spouses name, your birth date, your favourite sports team etc.
DON’T use public wifi, as these networks are usually unsecure.

Next are some Questions about the online business for Pradip and Vim.
Question 1: What major changes have you seen in the last 5 years in the jewellery industry?
Pradip – “1) Customers trust internet for higher value purchase 2) Personalisation 3) Brands & suppliers going direct to consumer”
Vim – “The style/Fashion changes very soon”
Question 2: How has brexit affected your business? (2 x good points and 2 x bad points)
Pradip – “As an immediate impact: 1) With Sterling Pound falling against international currencies, the cost of products have gone up 2) Uncertainty has resulted in reduced spending by customers. In the long-term I hope the inherent strength in the economy will help oversee this.”
Vim – “Trade price increasing, Competitive economy”
Question 3: Is baselworld worth going to, and if so, what are the benefits to WatchO?
Pradip – “Yes, definitely worth going. We see new and upcoming products. Also, opportunity to purchase products from unique brands and limited edition products”
Vim – “Seeing new products and meeting all the brands under one roof”
Question 4: Amazon, a marketplace that others are trying to get into. What do you have to say when our focus is completely off Amazon. we may be one of few companies in the UK who solely focuses on Website only. Is this challenging?
Pradip – “It is challenging in the short term but rewarding in the long term. Focussing on our own platform allows us to create custom value propositions for our customers, something that is not available via Amazon. Free personalisation on pocket watches is one of the examples.”
Vim – “We can look at it in two ways, thinking positively we are focusing on our website and bringing the footfall to our website. Why pay amazon the fees when we can invest in our own which is there to stay long term. On the other side sales have dropped tremendously on amazon with so many players discounting and selling items near enough to cost price.”
Question 5: The fashion market has been in the decline in recent years. As an independent, do you believe we have scope to overcome this? What are your thoughts?
Pradip – “As per GFK and equivalent data, there has been a substantial shift in products under £500. This does not have to be a permanent lost sale. Focusing on customers, creating products that have features that they currently expect, example Fitness features and ensuring that the product helps the customer can regenerate this segment.”
Vim – “Personally I don’t believe in fashion I prefer Classic and Timeless pieces. Fashion is not permanent, but we can reap the benefits whilst it last”
Question 6: What do you think of competition and how does it affect you?
Pradip – “Competition to a certain extent is good, it drives you to always be at your best.”
Vim – “Competition is healthy but as long as there is a fair playing field.”
Next up are some questions about the shops business for Joy.
Question 1: Has changing the store from traditional looking to a modern store impacted the customer outlook and the footfall that you get currently?
Joy – “yes, same footfall, good feedback”

Joy – “Competition”

Here we have it, the ultimate divide between watch nerds, the smart watch versus the analogue watch. Both watches have great features and equally deserve to be in this battle as much as the other. Today we break down the pros and cons of each simple aspect that these watches possess, which persuade their followers to one side.
Of the two, smart watches win the side of having more features to boast about and entice a neutral. Many of which, without the smart watch, we would need multiple different devices/objects for. To start off, most of them are Bluetooth capable, extending the capabilities of the wearer’s smartphone to their watch. This includes; being able to initiate and answer phone calls, as well as reading and sending emails and text messages. Additionally, you can listen to music through some of them, ask the digital assistant questions and get a weather report without finding out that it’s snowing through your auntie’s Facebook status.
On the other hand, you can get smart watches that can collect information about the wearer’s health, for example; heart rate monitoring, stress tracking, sleep tracking, steps, calories burned, and the list goes on! Some of them also have GPS capabilities, providing the wearer with walking/driving directions. We here at WatchO sell some notable smartwatches including brands like Garmin, Polar and Pebble.
Analogue watches are the oldest watches out there. They stand for simplicity and elegance and allow us to look our best selves whenever we wear them. Their defined beauty comes in many different varieties, more even, than what you can get of a smartwatch. What’s great about analogue watches is how they allow us to use properties of our brain and keep it functioning, rather than looking at a digital time and not even having to think about it – a feature that us lazy people secretly prefer.
What’s more, these watches are history. Their design is universal because it models after early timekeeper attempts to mark time by following the path of the sun across the sky. But not only for this reason. These watches also grounded design by aligning the 12-hour mark at the top of the watch face, being something that every watch since has adhered to.
Overall, I think that my personal favourite would have to be analogue. Analogue watches are designed to be wearable art, they are quite literally timeless. I don’t think you can really beat a classic looking watch, as they’re truly stunning. A smartwatch has some brilliant fighting features, but they will eventually date and become obsolete, just like most of our favourite tech gadgets. Not only that, but Analogue watches aren’t necessarily battery dependant, so you don’t need to worry about it running out of battery on a lengthy trip. All of this being said, I do fancy myself a Kronaby watch which is a hybrid of both analogue and smart watches, who says we can’t get the best of both worlds?
A timepiece with attitude. Inspired by the original 1975 Seiko Professional Diver’s watch, the first in the world with a titanium case, these designs are definitely timeless. These new Prospex, Street Series, feature the same iconic outer protector, in a more compact design. The fresh features, tailor exactly to the type of audience Seiko are looking for with their latest designs.
From first glance, the watches look like you could really test its limits, with a reinforced case that is lightweight yet robust. You could literally take this on any type of adventure and be assured that it will come to no harm. The strap is made from silicone and is styled like an accordion near the face, handy for when you need a bit of expansion on the wrist at great depths in the big blue.
The marvelous trio sports a three-dimensional bezel made of aluminium material to express a more edgy, yet manageable shape. The silicone strap is textured to feel just like the smooth touch of leather and it has a camo patterned dial, representing its unique playful style.
I think these watches are great for those who like a watch to lounge around in whilst also having the comfort of enjoying their favourite outdoor hobbies without worrying about damaging their stylish ‘going out’ watch. It’s made in 3 distinctive and bold colours that are the centre of attention with any outfit in any location. This intense watch is exactly what we’ve all been waiting for.
