One Drawing A Day is a joint Studio 1482 effort to put more drawings out in the world. Another way to break the ice, start a conversation, show some of our thinking and mostly just to have a place to post a few drawings. No seriously, we have a lot of drawings.
I drew this many years ago with pastels and pencil for the glasses. When I photographed this piece, the light from the flash reflected on the glasses making them look metallic. A pleasant, unexpected outcome!
Attended my very first Little League game this weekend, to cheer my nephew William and his team, the “Oakland A’s” on. Wow, such an exciting game – better than watching the major leagues!
William (#3) was all over the field – got a few hits, struck out a few batters during his time as pitcher, and also played shortstop. If you look at the drawing on the bottom left of the page, you’ll see his stance moments before he stole second base. I didn’t get a drawing of that – I was too busy yelling and jumping up and down on the bleachers!
PS Drawing William play was also good practice for me, as I’ll be teaching a workshop called “The Figure in Motion” at the Life Drawing Symposium next weekend! (A few spots still open! www.lifedrawingsymposium.com)
