Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Jun 17, 2019 – Jun 23, 2019:

We start this week with Neptune trining the North Node (and sextiling the South Node) on Monday. This transit can bring people in that you’re working through past-life karma with (South Node) or creating new karma with (North Node). Of course these are often one and the same.

Pay attention to new people coming in during this time, as well as interactions that trigger you emotionally. These are harmonious aspects (trine and sextile) that should make for pleasant interactions with others, as well as opportunities to work together.

The emphasis is on people entering (and exiting) your life that you might have some type of strong karmic link to. There are elements of fate associated with this aspect. Relationships that start or end during this transit are karmic in nature, so it’s important to treat them as sacred.

Also on Monday, at 9:30 am (UT) we have a Full Moon at 25º Sagittarius 53. The June Full Moon is called the Strawberry Full Moon, referring to the time for harvesting ripe strawberries. It’s also sometimes known as the Full Rose, Full Mead or Full Honey Moon.

As Full Moons are said to shine a spotlight on areas in your chart that are affected (by house position and contacts to other planets) you might look to your own natal chart (or have an astrologer look at your chart for you) to see where this will play out for you.

In general, the Full Moon provides an overview of the progress you’ve made since its New Moon counterpoint earlier in the month. Seeds that were planted then will surely have sprouted; do you need to make adjustments or change your course entirely? Now is the time to think about what you’ve accomplished and where you want to go from here.

Mercury conjuncts Mars on Tuesday, while Saturn sextiles Neptune. With respect to the Mercury / Mars aspect, emotions are likely to be heightened, as are impatience and impulsivity. You want to think before you speak, especially if speaking turns into lashing out at others. Remember that this transit is fleeting and will pass in a matter of days, so think about what might be said that you won’t be able to take back later.

The Mercury and Mars conjunction can also manifest as carelessness or recklessness, especially as Mars is debilitated in Cancer. It’s an accident-prone transit which can be minor (small cuts, burns, bruises, etc.) or major (automobile accidents, fires and physical violence). Do what you can to release any tension in the safety of your home — or gym — so that it doesn’t come at you from the outside.

Fortunately the Saturn / Neptune sextile is there to ease some of the tension and frustration that Mercury / Mars can bring. But both of these planets lean toward pensiveness and melancholy, so even with this relatively benign aspect (and the fact that both planets are dignified by sign), we might experience a period of wistful reminiscing and longing for the past.

Saturn and Neptune work well together when involved in harmonious aspect — like the 60º sextile. They can be meditative and reflective, although not necessarily inspired. It’s going to be important to look at the glass as half full rather than half empty during this time, and to find something motivates us toward action. Otherwise the potential for wallowing in misery is strong.

The Mercury / Mars conjunction moves up to oppose Pluto over the next few days, with Mercury opposing Pluto on Wednesday and Mars following suit the following day. In the middle of all this, the Moon joins in — conjuncting Pluto and opposing Mercury and Mars.

This set of transits can be extremely volatile, with the Mercury / Pluto / Moon aspect bringing suspicions and trust issues to the forefront. Mercury in Cancer is hypersensitive to begin with and the opposition to Pluto makes it hypervigilant.  The Mercury / Pluto opposition can be willful and rebellious, so be mindful of loved ones’ need to be themselves. Power struggles, harsh words and trust issues are all indicated here. This is not the time to try to force someone into a specific role or exert your own expectations on others.

Thursday’s Mars / Pluto opposition can further exacerbate tensions, increasing the potential for tempers to flair and complications to arise. This is a volatile aspect that can supercharge relationship conflicts. Egos are on the line here and you may find yourself embroiled in a battle that you have no idea how it started.

This is set of aspects is in play for several days, but it’s not permanent. Keep that in mind because other transits start to take center stage in the following days, beginning with Neptune turning stationary retrograde on Friday. Neptune is retrograde for about 5 months of every year, moving backward through the zodiac until it turns direct. This year that happens on November 28th, although it won’t cross its shadow point (the degree at which is goes retrograde) until March of 2020.

Neptune is at home in Pisces, and when it’s retrograde it can bring you one step closer to Nirvana. It opens up your psychic pathways and makes it easier for you access the collective unconscious. It is sensitive, compassionate, idealistic and altruistic. It can also be unrealistic and delusional.

Also on Friday, the Sun moves into Cancer, marking the onset of the Summer Solstice as well as the longest day of the year. This is measured by the amount of time between Sunrise and Sunset for those in the Northern Hemisphere; it’s exactly the opposite (Winter Solstice and shortest day of the year) for those in the Southern Hemisphere.

When we think of the Sun, we think of warmth, light and life. It warms our spirits as well as our bodies; it brightens our moods as well as the outside world, and it brings life to our dreams and goals as well as to every living thing on the planet. But put it in sensitive, loving, romantic Cancer and you know emotions are going to come into play. This is especially pronounced with the Neptune in Pisces retrograde that is happening at the same time.

We end the week on Sunday. with Saturn completing its conjunction to the South Node (an aspect that has been in play for several weeks). As the Moon’s Nodes are always naturally in polarity — and thus always in opposition to one another — Saturn simultaneously opposes the North Node during this time as well.

This is can be a particularly meaningful transit — personally and universally — as Saturn and the Nodes are tied to both the passage of time and the concept of fate. You want to pay attention to people coming into your life during this time as they’re likely to play a role in facilitating your growth.

You also want to be mindful of your actions (and reactions) regarding love interests and relationship partners. Saturn may force you to re-evaluate your needs and expectations, as it can manifest as a series of roadblocks that seem impossible to overcome. The Nodes are tied to karma — both the reaping and the sowing of karma — which makes having an awareness of your own contributions so much more important.

At the same time, also on Sunday, Venus opposes Jupiter. This aspect may see you thinking about what’s wrong in your relationships — whether that means you aren’t in one and are feeling lonely, or you are in one that has become unfulfilling. It can see you (or a love interest) feeling ready to throw in the towel and walk away.

But there are benefits to this transit as well. As Jupiter and Venus are both dignified by sign (with Jupiter in Sagittarius — the sign it rules — and Venus in Gemini — the sign of its esoteric rulership) there’s a call to balance out your differences (the opposition) and find a middle ground. This is a time for coming together not pulling apart, so don’t act rashly.

That’s it for this week. See you next week!

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Jun 10, 2019 – Jun 16. 2019:

We start this week on Monday, with a Sun / Jupiter opposition across the Gemini / Sagittarius axis. This aspect can indicate conflicts with others due to overblown egos. You may be dealing with someone who comes across as overbearing oe self-important during this time. You won’t make much headway if you try to challenge them; in fact this aspect can degenerate into a battle of wills.

With the Sun in Gemini and Jupiter in Sagittarius, politics and religious or ideological debates are likely to get heated and are unlikely to result in any meeting of the minds. Remember that ego is involved here and no one is going to want to concede defeat.

That Sun / Jupiter opposition is also part of a mutable grand cross. A grand cross is a configuration that involves two sets of planets (or points) that are in square and opposition with one another. In this case, the Sun and Jupiter each also square the Moon and Neptune, which are in opposition to one another.

The Jupiter portion of this configuration can amplify the effects of the the Sun / Moon / Neptune portion, which can see you feeling unsure about yourself and questioning your own self-worth as well as how you may be perceived by others. It can cause you to ignore — either through confusion, denial or avoidance — outright signs of deception and duplicity. It can also manifest as insecurity, self-doubts, and hypersensitivity to criticism.

Tuesday starts with a void of course Moon at 29 Virgo (an anaretic or “fated” degree). The void of course Moon is a common occurrence; it marks the period of time between the Moon’s last aspect in one sign and its ingress into the next. Any aspects involving the Moon are temporary are likely to fly by almost imperceptibly. But that doesn’t mean this period of time will be uneventful. There are still always transits in play: planets interacting with one another and blending or communicating their unique energies.

The Moon moves into Libra in the early morning hours, where it trines Venus, opposes Chiron and squares Mercury before the day is through. As a result, you may find yourself going through a whole gamut of conflicting emotions, from feeling loving and conciliatory (Moon in Libra trine Venus), to being moody and hyper-sensitive (Moon square Chiron and opposite Mercury).

The Moon in Libra is known for fairness and objectivity, and those qualities are likely to come in handy on Wednesday when it squares Mars, Saturn, Pluto and the North and South Nodes. Thankfully there’s also a sextile to Jupiter and a trine to the Sun somewhere in there too.

The bottom line is that lunar transits are fleeting, so don’t let your emotions prompt you to act impulsively or irrationally. These lunar transits are likely to produce only short-lived effects, and you don’t want to make decisions you might later regret.

Venus sextiles Chiron on Thursday. This transit may see you becoming more aware of your own capacity for giving and for being able to put yourself in other people’s shoes. This is a charitable aspect that compels you to reach into the very depths of your soul — where compassion, forgiveness and understanding all reside — and bring forth that which is within you in order to pass it on.

With Venus in Gemini and Chiron in Aries, this can be a very proactive aspect. It can be determined and motivated, and since it’s a sextile (the aspect associated with cooperation and collaboration) it can see you brainstorming with others to instigate change. The Aries / Gemini signature is all about taking ideas and running with them, you can accomplish a great deal

On Friday, Mars conjuncts the North Node and opposes Saturn and the South Node. The Mars / Nodes aspect is known for taking an active role in group discussions. Remember that there needs to be a good balance between give and take: don’t try to force your views on others, or you could wind up alienating them.

But the opposition to Saturn can lead to tensions and frustrations. It pits the planet associated with action and aggression (Mars) against the planet associated with limitations and restrictions (Saturn). It’s often likened to having the pedal to the metal and driving full speed ahead (Mars) and plowing into a brick wall (Saturn).

It can be tremendously frustrating as you’re raring to go and the Universe is putting roadblocks in your path. No matter what you try to accomplish during this time, know that Saturn has the upper hand and that you will be met with challenges. It’s not the time to engage in any confrontational (or legally questionable) behaviors as you’re unlikely to come out unscathed.

Fortunately Mars is also involved in a grand water trine with the Moon and Neptune on this day. This configuration can help to smooth some of that aforementioned tension, buf keep in mind that both Mars and the Moon are debilitated by sign. With Neptune in the mix, it can manifest as confusion, uncertainty or even a call to martyrdom.

By Sunday, Mercury steps in and replaces Mars with the same set of aspects: it opposes Saturn, conjuncts the North Node, and trines Neptune. You may find yourself better able to articulate the frustrations you’re dealing with, but may also find yourself more focused on them during this time.

The trine to Neptune is quite pleasant. It opens up the psychic pathways that lead us to our dreams. Mercury trine Neptune is incredibly perceptive. It provides unparalleled access to the collective unconscious. You may find yourself experiencing profound psychic insights or instances of synchronicity and deja vu.

But at the same time — with Jupiter squaring Neptune — there’s an urge to break through the monotony and ponder more spiritual or philosophical pursuits. While there is a potential to become disenchanted or disillusioned with the combination of these aspects, your best bet is to find a middle ground and get these seemingly-divergent energies working together.

That’s it for this week. See you next week!

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of Jun 3, 2019 – Jun 9, 2019:

This week starts with a New Moon on Monday, at 12º Gemini 33. There are lots of positive aspects associated with the Gemini Moon: insatiable curiosity for one thing, and playfulness for another. Wit, charm and charisma for a few more. It’s also good for socializing and interacting with others.

The New Moon phase is very much alive. Everything seems fresh and new and each experience brings with it something you hadn’t paid attention to before. It’s a time for laughter and gaiety, spontaneity and companionship.

This is especially fitting of the Gemini Moon, which is known for being restless and changeable, and now more than ever with the Moon and Mercury in mutual reception.

Venus also trines Pluto on Monday. This transit opens you up to meaningful connections with others. Whether these are romantic / sexual in nature or just significant in terms of shared interests and ideals remains to be seen. But this aspect brings in elements of magnetism and charisma so be prepared to make an impact on those you encounter along the way.

Meanwhile, Mercury is in its own sign (Gemini) and at an anaretic degree, until it moves into Cancer around 9pm on Tuesday. This is an inordinately sensitive and intuitive placement, capable of seeing all of the many facets of an object (or a person, or situation) with just a cursory glance. It can see you taking a trip down memory lane. Unexpected reminders of the past — songs playing on the radio, sights and sounds and scents from your childhood, even dreams of people you haven’t seen in years — can make you nostalgic and thinking about the past.

But because it is so sensitive, it’s also prone toward moodiness and defensiveness. You want to make sure you’re not making mountains out of molehills, reading too much between the lines or taking things too personally during this time. It can’t hurt to reach out to someone from your past (especially family members you haven’t kept up with as much as you’d like) and let them know they’ve been on your mind.

By Tuesday evening though, the Moon will have moved into Cancer, where it will join up with Mercury before the night is through. It conjuncts Mars and then the North Node on Wednesday. While the Moon is dignified in Cancer (the sign it rules), Mars is in its fall there and is thus considered weakened.

Moon / Mars aspects are generally temperamental and reactionary. They can be irritable, irrational and defensive. They’re also known for causing people to make mountains out of molehills or jump to conclusions. Because it this, it’s not the time to push anyone’s buttons or allow your own to be pushed.

Fortunately, lunar transits are fleeting, and this combination is likely to produce only short-lived effects. Since the Moon is involved, we can expect to see emotional and psychological effects rather material or external ones. And as we move into Thursday that brings in an opposition to Saturn and Pluto, as the Moon crosses its own Node.

While the Moon in Cancer and Saturn in Capricorn are each in their own signs, the opposition between them is generally not pleasant. It can see you feeling someone somber or morose. The opposition to Pluto brings in the potential for obsessing and perseverating, so you want to be aware of your mind’s tendency to play tricks on you during this time, making things seem a whole lot more bleak than they really are.

On Friday, Mercury squares Uranus and sextiles Chiron. This is an ongoing recurrence due to a series of retrogrades involving these three planets. The Mercury / Chiron sextile may see you becoming more aware of your own capacity for giving and for being able to put yourself in other people’s shoes. This is a charitable aspect that compels you to reach into the very depths of your soul — where compassion, forgiveness and understanding all reside — and bring forth that which is within you in order to pass it on.

But the square to Uranus can be disruptive, and can manifest as erratic or unstable behavior. Conflicts can erupt — from seemingly out of nowhere — in both your personal relationships and your interactions with others. This aspect pits the urge to connect and interact against the desire for freedom and independence, so could see you on a completely different page from your loved ones.

The Sun squares Neptune on Sunday, just as Venus moves into Gemini. The Sun / Neptune square may see you feeling unsure about yourself and questioning your own self-worth as well as how you may be perceived by others. This aspect can manifest as insecurity, self-doubts, and hypersensitivity to criticism.

You may be struggling to figure out who you really are and what you really stand for. The Sun / Neptune square can cloud your vision, especially with respect to your identity (the Sun). Don’t fall into the trap of comparing yourself to others, or looking for ways to emulate them.

Venus is the esoteric ruler of Gemini, as the catalyst through which the concept of “Love” first emerges — through connecting, interacting and most importantly communicating with others. It is curious, whimsical and spontaneous. It’s a feminine planet in a dual sign, which means it can also be restless, changeable and fickle in the relationship department.

Venus will remain in Gemini until July 3rd, when it moves into Cancer. Even if you weren’t born with this placement, now is a good time to get in touch with your youthful, spontaneous and capricious inner child.

That’s it for this week. See you next week!

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of May 27, 2019 – Jun 2, 2019:

This week starts on Monday with a 3rd quarter Moon in sensitive, dreamy, idealistic Pisces. It conjuncts Neptune, sextiles Saturn and Venus, and squares Mercury before the day is through.

The Moon in Pisces is loving, compassionate, creative and highly impressionable. It can increase psychic awareness and make you more susceptible to outside influences. It’s mystical and ethereal, but can also be incredibly naive. It’s not good at filtering out negative or harmful information, and can therefore be easily deceived.

On Tuesday, the Moon — still in Pisces — sextiles Saturn, Pluto and the South Node, and then squares Jupiter. The sextiles are all generally supportive aspects: in fact those Capricorn planets can help to ground the nebulous qualities associated with this Moon, making it easier to bridge the gap between fact and fiction.

The square to Jupiter is a little trickier. It’s known for overly dramatic (or melodramatic, since it’s a Pisces Moon) emotional displays. It can be bubbly and exuberant, but it can also be flamboyant and extravagant. This is not the time to make promises you might not be able to keep, or to offer unsolicited advice. This aspect can amp up some of the already super-charged emotional tension you’re dealing with, so don’t make any important decisions during this time.

But Wednesday’s Aries Moon both squares and forms a mutual reception with Mars. The square to Mars is generally not pleasant — especially since Mars is debilitated in Cancer, the sign of its detriment. And with the square aspect representing conflict and crisis, you may feel somewhat impatient or irritable, or you may be subjected to irrational outbursts from others.

The mutual reception can hopefully water down some of that energy, as they tend to strengthen the natural influences of the planets involved, uniting them together in collaboration. In this case, with Mars “receiving” the Moon (and vice versa), the angry, impatient and irrational side of Mars will hopefully be tempered by the loving, sensitive and nurturing side of the Moon.

On Thursday, there’s a square from Neptune to Mercury and a sextile from Neptune to Venus. The square to Mercury — even with both planets dignified in their own signs — will likely manifest as confusion, uncertainty, suspicion and doubt.

It’s not the best time to sign contracts or lay down any concrete plans. It’s best used for tapping into our creative potential. For dreaming, visualizing and conceptualizing. Use this time to get in touch with your spirituality or work on creating something inspiring during this time, and save the nuts and bolts (left brain) decisions for another day.

The sextile to Venus is especially nice, as Neptune is the higher octave of Venus and these two planets “holding hands (sextiling) one another emphasizes their respective influences. The sextile aspect relates to assistance and cooperation. The Venus / Neptune combination is often present in relationships that are based on spiritual, creative or altruistic notions.

This transit is excellent for tapping into your psychic abilities and can also be instrumental in creating soul connections with romantic interests. There are unconditional love aspects to the Venus / Neptune sextile but be careful: it’s also associated with escapism and self-deception, such as relationships where neither party sees the other one clearly. This transit can also manifest as co-dependency or escapism.

Venus sextiles the North Node and trines Saturn on Friday, just as Mercury moves into opposition to Jupiter. Starting with the Venus transits: the trine to Saturn describes a need for careful consideration of what you value and where you stand in your relationships. It makes for a good time to sit down and have a heart to heart talk with a loved one. It brings depth and wisdom to your thinking, especially regarding matters of the heart.

The sextile to the North Node (which will automatically trine the South Node) can bring people into your life who want nothing but the best for you. Hold onto them and cherish their presence in your life. It can heighten your awareness of the beauty and grace that surround you even in the midst of turbulent times. This is a good image to hold onto (and to strive toward) as we move toward the end of the week.

With the Mercury / Jupiter opposition, you want to make sure you’re not projecting unrealistic expectations onto others. You may find yourself reading too much into what other people say or promising way more than you can deliver. Moderation is always the key with oppositions (especially those involving planetary pairs as in the case with Mercury and Jupiter). You want to find the middle ground here: in this case between what you believe in (Jupiter) and how you express those beliefs to others (Mercury).

Venus inconjuncts Jupiter and Mercury inconjuncts Pluto on Saturday. The Venus / Jupiter aspect can see you having a hard time establishing boundaries, especially with respect to personal indulgences. When is enough enough, or when is it too much? This is what you’ll have to be asking yourself during this transit — especially with as Mercury inconjuncts Pluto at the same time.

The Mercury / Pluto aspect is likely to be a bit darker. It shouldn’t be too bad — as long as you’re honest with yourself and others. This is not the time to play mind games or engage in power struggles. This is an intense and somewhat suspicious aspect that can see you reading too much into the intentions of others.

As we settle into the weekend, we have lots to look forward to — starting next week with two planets (and an asteroid) changing signs, and out of bounds Mars and Mercury, and a New Moon in Gemini.

That’s it for this week. See you next week!

Aries: Knight of Swords

This month you’re going to want to be “on your toes” and prepared for whatever opportunities — or peril — that comes your way.

The Knight of Swords — this version from the Love and Mystery Tarot — is sharp, focused and purposeful, aware of his (or her) environment and quick to act if need be.

In some decks the Knight of Swords is literally a knight in shining armor, charging ahead into battle or to rescue his fair maiden. And sometimes he’s racing toward the finish line, bound and determined to win at any cost.

But here we have a young hipster-soldier girl standing watch under a bird-filled sky. She herself resembles a bright and colorful bird, from her hair to her coloring to her clothing to her complete immersion in the scene before her.

But these birds aren’t flying south for the winter: they’re circling above her in what could be a menacing formation. She keeps her sword ready but holds it behind her until she knows for sure.

The Knight of Swords often delivers news. Sometimes it’s good news and sometimes it’s not. But like the young warrior in our card, your main objective should be to stay alert and be prepared to act quickly and decisively either way.

The Knight of Swords is quite good at getting to the point, but comes up short when it comes to tact and diplomacy. Therefore if it turns out that it’s you delivering the news this month, you want to be mindful of your tone, manner and especially your choice of words.

TAURUS: Nine of Disks

This month you should start seeing evidence of all your hard work mirrored right back to you, in both the spiritual and material realms.

With your ruler (Venus) now moving through your sign, you want to be shifting your attitude to one of gratitude. You also want to be tempering your ambitions with empathy and compassion for others.

The Nine of Disks — this version from the Mary-el Tarot — refers to a sense of satisfaction for all you’ve achieved, not because you’re lucky or have been the benefactor of someone’s generosity.

It’s through your own hard work and determination (seen in the Eight of Disks) that leads you to that place of fulfillment. The Nine of Disks challenges you to not only answer that question but to examine your personal values as well. Money is just one form “values” and is usually the one we pay the most attention to.

You need to be mindful of the temptation to overlook one set of values for another, especially when it involves compromising your principles.

Like the three-headed Baphomet deity depicted here, there’s an awareness of past, present and future that is central to your world-view. It represents wisdom, spiritual awareness and the union of opposites.

Notice the New and Old Moons and the juxtaposition of dark and light repeated throughout this card. It’s a reminder of the need to balance black and white, give and take, young and old, good and bad, that’s part of the Nine of Disks dynamic. Know that all you put out there is mirrored back to you now, so be mindful of your thoughts and actions during this time.

GEMINI: Ace of Cups

Your card this month — the Ace of Cups from the Sun and Moon Tarot — is all about romance, affection, flirtation, intimacy, communion and most of all love.

Aces represent new and unformed energy. As Cups refer to emotions, intuition and feelings, it’s likely to manifest on one of these levels.

It’s all about seeing your capacity to love and express feelings mirrored right back to you — through a new love interest, a friend or family member, or the eyes of a child.

You may be starting a new relationship or expressing yourself romantically — whether or not a serious relationship develops from that flirtation. As with all Aces, the energy is so new and so unformed that a myriad of possibilities is completely within your reach.

The process of falling in love reveals to you your purest, most perfect potential. It’s when you put your best foot forward and show the world what you’re capable of — and the Universe responds in kind.

If you’re already in an established relationship, the Ace of Cups can refer to a renewal of affection and passion. It can represent a renewal, a more “formal” commitment or the onset of a new chapter in your relationship.

All Aces are related to new and unformed energy. So even if it does manifest as something material — a new love interest or some form of external validation for example — the bottom line is that it creates a “feel good” energy which reverberates throughout your very being.

As this is the Ace of Cups, and Cups refer to emotions, intuition and feelings, it’s likely to manifest on one of these levels. Love and romance for starters. But also affection, intimacy, sharing, closeness and the expression of feelings. The Ace of Cups is ripe with potential and opportunity for all of these things. What you do with them — and how open you are to the possibilities before you — is entirely up to you.

Cancer: The Hermit

This month, with a lineup of planets (including the Sun and New Moon) moving through your 12th house, you may find yourself doing a lot of soul searching. It’s going to be a time for seeking answers to life’s most pressing questions by meditating and reflecting on your goals.

The Hermit card — this version from the World Spirit Tarot — represents a retreat from all the noise and distractions that surround you in order to access your inner reserves of knowledge and wisdom.

As this card also refers to turning inward, there’s an entire spectrum of information — from the depths of the psyche (to the heights of conscious awareness — that can be accessed.

The waves at her feet look almost like flames. She turns her attention to the blue and indigo flames, representing intuition and higher consciousness. As water also represents feelings, these fiery waves can refer to the alchemical process of transmuting your emotions into something that can be worked with dynamically.

The Hermit card can appear at a time when you’re so bombarded with external stimuli that you just want to “get away” from it all. Notice the bird at the top of the card liberating himself from his cage. Be careful that you don’t spend so much time in your head that you miss out on opportunities that present themselves. They may seem random in the moment but reveal themselves later to be much more important than you’d realized.

This month you get to choose whether you’re lighting your own way or acting as a guidepost for those who have wandered away from theirs. Both are valid endeavors ,and only you will know which is the right path for you.

LEO: Two of Swords

This month may see you struggling with an important decision that’s been weighing heavily on your mind. The Two of Swords can refer to an impasse or stalemate that’s more likely than not a result of your own indecision.

It can refer to a pivotal moment in time where you recognize that the options before you are equally appealing (or equally terrifying) and that whatever decision you make can have a huge impact on the rest of your life.

In this respect it can refer to inaction and immobility. Sometimes this is due to fear: “What if I make the wrong decision?” But it’s just as often related to a desire to not have to choose at all.

At times like this that may be the best option, especially if your own uncertainty brings that whole decision-making process to a halt. Your best move may be to disconnect completely while you gather more information.

This version of the card — from the Archeon Tarot — illustrates that point beautifully. The figure in this card has not only stepped back from the swords crossed before her, but has crossed her own arms in front of her as well.

She’s detached herself both mentally and emotionally while the Swords (decisions) before her take form. Notice that they are polar opposites: One is white with a black hilt and the other is black with a white hilt.

Whether you feel yourself being pulled in two different directions — between head and heart, for example — or just need a break from the chaos surrounding you, this card encourages you to take a step back, be still in the moment and reflect on what you want, removed from any external distractions.

VIRGO: Seven of Tulips

If you aren’t careful with what you are doing this month, you could run into problems or wind up making mistakes due to carelessness uncertainty.

If you have papers to sign, contracts to read over, etc make sure you do so twice and don’t sign anything that you don’t understand.

The Seven of Tulips (the Rabbit Tarot’s version of the Seven of Cups) can be a card of confusion. It can also show that you are away with the fairies somewhat and not completely grounded.

Here we see a cute little rabbit picking pink tulips whilst at the same time not looking at what she is doing and also looking for all the world as if she has her head in the clouds (literally).

The best that can be said is that if there is a middle ground or middle of the road stance for you to take on something, then do it. Don’t rock the boat and don’t go pushing into any arguments that you don’t have any right to be in.

If someone is rocking your boat do not let them goad you. Be on the lookout for the wool being pulled over your eyes too as you may be on the receiving end of a trick or two or from someone who is trying to get the better of you.

If you have a chance to put your feet up and relax it is a great time to let your imagination soar. You can get through quite a lot by just sitting back and not focusing too hard on any one thing.

Remember this is not a time for “doing” — it’s a time for doing nothing and at the same time not allowing others to not take advantage of you.

Libra: Five of Pentacles

Your card this month — the Five of Pentacles from the Dreaming Way Tarot — indicates a need to rethink what you value, especially when it comes to your own sense of worth or self-esteem.

The Five of Pentacles can mark a period of financial adversity, such as seeing your earnings held up or seeing your resources dwindling as a result of unexpected expenses.

As Pentacles are linked to “values,” we most often think of money. But they also relate to self-worth: it’s hard to feel good about yourself when you’re struggling — financially or otherwise.

The Five of Pentacles can refer to feelings of inadequacy. It can translate as feeling lost or alone, isolated or excluded. It doesn’t have to manifest in a big way. It can be as simple as being dismissed or overlooked — an insignificant occurrence that in light of some of the bigger picture concerns can takes on a life of its own.

It’s a harsh word, a careless remark, or a call that doesn’t come. Something that makes you feel small, dejected or demoralized.

There is fear associated with this card. Fear of making a mistake. Fear of failure. Fear of taking a leap of faith only to see the thing you want so desperately swept away before you can attain it.

Your challenge this month is going to be to move past those fears and recapture your your own self worth. You want to move past the feelings of shame, embarrassment and uncertainty and allow yourself to reach out for help is needed.

Take some time this month to remind yourself that you’re worthy of being loved and accepted. The challenge with the Five of Pentacles is to not give in to those fears, but to overcome them.

Scorpio: Page of Cups

This month, which starts with the Moon and Venus together in your relationship sector, you may be more ready than ever to open yourself up to new romantic possibilities.

You might fall in love — or fall in love with love — as these transits (and this card) bode very well for the prospect of a new relationship.

The Page (or Princess) of Cups — this version from the Ceccoli Tarot — is youthful, sensitive, and sincere. She’s full of potential, but may be lacking in worldly experience and sophistication. She also has a tendency to be naive.

As the embodiment of the first Water sign (Cancer in this case), this Princess expresses a more idealistic and less refined version than the other court cards. She’s pure of heart and gentle of soul, seeing only the good in others with the hopefulness that comes from youth and inexperience. She’s also romantic, sensitive, loving and kind.

If she appears in your life at some point during the month — as a young person, an event or even another version of you — know that she’s come to encourage you to let go of your mistrust and cynicism. She’s here to reintroduce you to the idealism and hopefulness of youth. And she’s here to teach you to open your heart to love.

The Princess of Cups is fearless, because he (or she) doesn’t know that there’s any real danger out there. And as such, s/he’s unlikely to attract it. S/he knows instinctively that the Universe is abundant and that the well will never run dry.

Because she embodies such a youthful and unrefined energy, we might forget that she has much to teach us too. But her presence in the cards this month may be an important reminder of how much more we still need to learn.

Sagittarius: Two of Wands

Be on the lookout this month for opportunities that are available to you which might not be so readily apparent from your current vantage point.

The Two of Wands speaks of having put an initial plan into action (with the Ace of Wands) and seeing it gather steam. It means that something has started to happen — something big enough to assure you that you’re on the right track, but not well-thought out enough yet to ensure that it’s a go.

Your ruler (Jupiter) is still retrograde in your sign. While this may see you second-guessing yourself or hesitating to put yourself “out there,” it will start moving forward again in the coming weeks. This transit provides the optimism and energy to see your goals to fruition, although you may need to get some altitude — like the cat perched on the highest limb of this tree — to get a clearer overview.

We can see that the cat is both patient and alert — two of the most important (and necessary) features of the Two of Wands, which are both captured here in the simple imagery of this card. It’s the ability to balance these two qualities that makes getting to the finish line possible.

Notice that the lower branch is forked, indicating earlier missteps or changes in plans. The cat has wisely leaped up to a higher perch where he can get a better view of the road ahead of him. The Two of Wands — this version from Erin Morgenstern’s Phantomwise Tarot — encourages you to expand your horizons and reach for broader vistas. It speaks of taking a look at your long-term goals and acting on them with courage and conviction. You’re already seeing how some moves are paying off, and are now in a position to take things to the next level.

If you’ve been hesitating due to fear or uncertainty, now is the time to put those worries aside. The Jupiter transit through your sign says that all you aspire to is now within your grasp; you only need to muster up the confidence to go after it.

CAPRICORN: Ten of Wands

It may feel like it’s all work and no play for you this month, with your ruler (Saturn) joining Pluto and the South Node and moving retrograde through your sign.

Your card this month — the Ten of Wands from Dana Driscoll’s gorgeous Tarot of Trees — emphasizes responsibilities and duties which have become priorities, forcing you to deal with them rather than devoting your time and energy to doing what you really want to do.

These transits may have you feeling overburdened and oppressed. The weight of responsibilities you’ve taken on may seem like a heavy load — too heavy in fact for just one person to carry.

You may also feel like you’re carrying “extra baggage” — whether this refers to your own struggles or those of someone else. There’s a strong possibility you’ve taken on someone else’s problems, rather than letting them iron them out themselves. As a result, it may feel like you’re carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders, with no time or energy left to attend to your own needs.

The seed of an idea has sprouted, but as you can see it’s getting very little nourishment — even though the Sun is shining in the background. The trees on either side are so tightly intertwined that they’re blocking out all the light.

The Ten of Wands encourages you to lighten your load: you’ll have to find a way to nurture your own ideas, needs and interests, or risk seeing everyone else’s problems interfering with your progress.

AQUARIUS: Five of Swords

This month you could find yourself on the receiving end of someone’s attempts to undermine you, through coercion, manipulation or outright duplicity.

You may also need to look at all the different aspects of a disagreement and decide your next move. Do you surrender? Finish off your opponent? Turn and walk away? Or do you go back in and clean up the spoils in the hopes that there’s something left to be salvaged?

The Five of Swords — this version from the Ostara Tarot — is traditionally associated with conflict and turmoil, not seeing eye to eye, and fighting for the sake of fighting. There are elements of ego, pride and “reputation” in the mix — not wanting to give in or to admit to being wrong — these are what keep the conflict alive.

The Five of Swords is called “defeat” in some decks, referring to the limitations and obstacles that may seem impossible to overcome.

While it is often combative, it’s not generally about physical conflicts. It’s going to be verbal, mental or in some way related to communications. Religious / political differences are one example of the stalemate that can arise where the Five of Swords is concerned.

While you may feel that the odds are stacked against you or that everyone and everything is conspiring against you, you would do well to see the Five of Swords as a test of character. You may not be able to control what happens to you, but how you respond is entirely in your hands.

If you think about the disagreements in your own life, you’ll see that Ego is almost always to blame. This version of the Five of Swords encourages you to relinquish yours, if only to keep the peace.

Pisces: Wheel of Fortune

This month you may be looking at the ups and downs in your life and thinking about how they’ve led you to where you are today. The Wheel of Fortune card is associated with fate, destiny, “karma,” life cycles and both good and bad luck.

Sometimes we blame ourselves for the down times (assuming we’ve “brought it all on ourselves”) while viewing the up times as..

Happy Birthday Gemini! Here are highlights for the month ahead.

Lunations: Moon Phases for the entire month:

New Moon: This month’s New Moon occurs on June 3rd at 12° Gemini 33.

Full Moon: The Full Moon occurs on June 17th at 25° Sagittarius 53.

Retrogrades: Neptune goes retrograde on June 21st. Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto are all retrograde for the entire month.

Ingresses: Mercury moves into Cancer on June 4th; Venus moves into Gemini on June 9th; the Sun moves into Cancer on the 21st, Mercury moves into Leo on the 27th.

Continue reading for complete scopes for each sign:

Aries — March 21-April 19: There’s a lot happening in your area of communication this month with Mercury there till the 4th, alongside Venus from the 9th. A new moon on the 3rd also focuses on communications you may need to take care of. As the month progresses you may be thanking your lucky stars that you do have such great transits hitting your communication area. The reason for this is that Mars, your ruling planet, will be forming a square to your sign and opposition to Pluto and Saturn at various times from 14th to 24th. You may experience setbacks and delays during those 10 days, with little you can do about it and you’d be wise not to try. Moon in your love area 11th and 12th is the time to take care of any problems before they arise in your relationship.

Moon in Aries June 25, 26, 27

Taurus — April 20-May 20: Change is around for you in June with Uranus in your sign and Mars moving through your communication area. Mars is very quick and when it is in this area of your chart and you may find that ideas come to you thick and fast. Add this to the changes Uranus is already bringing to your life and you have a month full of fun and games. Perhaps they are good, perhaps they are not so good. The secret to it is to not rush in and make decisions too quickly. Taureans rarely rush in so you are pretty safe, but you may feel out of your comfort zone if you have to act quickly. Moon in your love area 13th and 14th is a time to push boundaries.

Moon in Taurus June 1, 28, 29

Gemini — May 21-June 21: Venus is in your sign from the 9th giving you a chance to put your love life back on track. From the 20th to the 27th Venus will be in opposition to Jupiter. This may be the week that tensions arise in your relationship but it will not be anything you cannot handle. Afterall, Jupiter is not known as the “lucky planet” without good reason. It usually bestows on you a great amount of flexibility that you may not usually have. Great week for planning anything you’ve been putting off doing. Moon in your relationship area 15th, 16th and 17th also encompasses Jupiter and Venus being directly in line to benefit the full moon energy on the 17th.

Moon in Gemini June 2, 3, 4 (full), 30

Cancer — June 22-July 23: Busy month for Cancerians as the Sun moves in to your sign on the 21st, just as Neptune turns retrograde. Your intuition should be high at this time and make sure that what you are getting through intuitively is all about you and not others as strong boundaries will be needed. The big news for you this month is Mars is in your sign all month. This is not an easy position for Mars to be in and you’ll need to watch for frustrations and setbacks. This is especially true from the 14th to the 24th as Mars is then in opposition to Saturn and Pluto. Not the month for pushing ahead to get things done. Moon in your love area 18th and 19th is a time to spend doing something low key.

Moon in Cancer June 5, 6

Leo — July 24-August 23: June may be a bit of a frustrated month for you as Mars moves through an area of your chart not exactly know for being straightforward. Mars is a planet which likes to know where it is going, so when it is not a clear cut path things can get a bit muddled. Adding to this Mercury joins Mars from the 4th to the 26th, after which it is then in your own sign. Dates to watch are from 14th to 24th when these two planets are in close contact with each other. The full moon on the 17th, which comes into close contact to Jupiter and trines your sign may be your saving grace in making sure nothing truly goes to wrong for you. Moon in your love area 20th, 21st and 22nd gives you an extra reason to celebrate the Summer Solstice.

Moon in Leo June 7, 8

Virgo —  August 24-September 22: Whilst other signs are enjoying the benefits of Venus to their love lives this month, you may be focussing more on work as Venus touches on this area of your chart from the 8th onwards. On the positive side you should enjoy what you are working on and before the 8th Venus trines your sign to give your love life a boost. Keep a close eye on friendships as the month progresses as from the 4th to the 26th Mercury is in this area of your chart which is usually not a problem. However, for the duration of June you also have Mars hitting off your friendship area and that can be a problem. Don’t be drawn into dramas and petty arguments. Perhaps you are wise to pour your energy into work after all. Moon in your love area 23rd and 24th is a time to give attention to your partner.

Moon in Virgo June 9, 10

Libra — September 23-October 22: A square from Mars and also Saturn and Pluto will be what you need to watch this month. These three planets are no small thing to be dealing with and as they are in tense aspect to your sign you need to have your wits about you that nothing goes wrong. Because if it does, it will do so in a big way. The dates to watch on this are 14th to 24th. Luckily for you, Venus will be in a fun area of your chart from the 8th onwards and you can use this to offset any other tensions that may be around. A New moon on the 3rd also sets the tone for fun times ahead. With the Moon in your love area on the 25th, 26th and 27th, it’s is a great time to spend with your partner.

Moon in Libra June 11, 12

Scorpio — October 23-November 22: Mars is forming a trine to your sign all month which should allow you to get a lot done. With Saturn and Pluto also sextiling your sign things should be running pretty smoothly for you. Short trips and travel may also be the order of the day for you. Plan a trip or a holiday. Mercury is also joining Mars in Cancer from the 4th to the 26th allowing your mind to be firing on all cylinders. Pay attention to what is around for you from 12th to 26th when both Mars and Mercury are in close alignment. Ideas may come from nowhere at this time and even if they are not worth pursuing at this moment, you never know where they will lead you in the future. Moon in your love area 1st, 28th and 29th occurs just before and just after what may well be some of the most intense weeks of 2019 for you.

Moon in Scorpio June 13, 14

Sagittarius — November 23-December 20: Mercury is in your relationship area this month till the 4th. It’s a great time to think on what you want in a relationship, especially as a new moon hits off in the same area of your chart on the 3rd. Yet it is after the 8th when things really heat up in your love life with Venus blessing you with her presence for the remainder of the month in matters of the heart. The week of the 21st to 28th is a time to take a few risks in your love life with Venus in opposition to Jupiter. Look for clues around the 17th in what these risks may involve as a full moon hits off in your sign close to Jupiter on that date. Moon in your love area 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 30th may bring a surprise or two of its own!

Moon in Sagittarius June 15, 16, 17 (full)

Capricorn — December 21-January 20: Saturn and Pluto, both in your sign, come into contact with an opposition from Mars from the 14th to 24th. As Mars will be in your relationship area at this time, you’ll need to be aware that things can go from good, to bad, to worse very quickly with these 3 planets involved. It would be a good idea not to try to control what is around you too much, rather loosen the reigns and try to just relax more. The 4th to the 26th also finds Mercury in your relationship area. This is usually great for communication but with Mars, Saturn and Pluto all in close alignment best leave any serious talking to a later date. Moon in your love area 5th and 6th is a time of balance when it comes to your relationship.

Moon in Capricorn June 18, 19

Aquarius — January 21-February 19: There is a trine from the new moon on the 3rd to you sign paving the way for Venus, planet of love, which will also be trining your sign from the 8th to bring positives to your love life. New ideas and beginnings can both spring from this combination of the moon and Venus. The week of the 21st to 28th also brings with it a few opportunities with friends to enjoy socialising with perhaps the opportunity of meeting someone special. After the 26th Mercury is in your relationship area giving you the chance to clear the air with any misunderstandings you and your partner have been experiencing. Moon in your love area 7th and 8th occurs just before Venus shines her light on romance for you.

Moon in Aquarius June 20, 21, 22

Pisces — February 20-March 20: You might be planning to stick close to home this month, especially after the 8th when Venus moves in to an area of your chart related to home and family. Although you may find this difficult to accomplish with Mars in your fifth house, giving you lots of opportunities to go out and have some fun! From the 4th to the 26th it may all seem a little hectic for you as Mercury also joins Mars in a boost to your social life. 14th to 24th finds Mercury and Mars in close alignment and it is at this time you especially need to be careful of what you say as it may not come across well to the other person. Moon in your love area 7th and 8th occurs just as Venus changes signs and with it allows for a shift in your emotions.

Moon in Pisces June 23, 24

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro May 20, 2019 – May 26, 2019:

We start this week on Monday with Saturn conjuncting the South Node at 20º Capricorn 12.

On Tuesday. the Sun and Mercury leave Taurus behind and move into Gemini. They conjunct at around 2 in the afternoon (Universal time). This tight conjunction — called Cazimi — refers to a planet being “in the heart” of the Sun, or so close in orb that it becomes a part of it. This is a powerful conjunction, and at 0 degrees is infused with the Mercury’s natural rulership over Gemini. Sudden flashes of insight and awareness are possible so pay attention to your thoughts and ideas during this time.

The Sun’s ingress into Gemini marks the onset of a 28+ day period when our collective focus shifts toward communications and ideas. It’s heralds a time of increased socializing and interacting with others. It’s a good time for exchanging information and bouncing ideas off of others.

The Sun in Gemini is resilient, adaptable, restless and changeable. It’s also very easily bored. It’s the consummate multi-tasker, perpetually interested in gathering facts and learning new things. Gemini is a neutral / androgynous energy. It’s a masculine, mutable air sign, known for its wit, charm and seemingly-endless assortment of random information.

Mercury in Gemini is curious, playful, clever and engaging. It’s interested in many things but is easily distracted and quick to lose interest. It’s quick-thinking but can also be tangential. It’s interested in gathering facts and information, even seemingly meaningless trivia. Mercury in Gemini is great for interacting with others, and for taking care of menial chores — in fact the more menial the chores the more opportunities there will be to do what Mercury in Gemini does best. Juggle several different things at once.

Wednesday’s Mars / Uranus sextile is a high-energy aspect that can have you feeling like you can succeed in anything you set your sites on. There’s not a lot of forethought there; it’s all action, energy and innovation. It’s moving forward in leaps and bounds, pushing past limitations and breaking through whatever once held you back.

Sextiles are creative and conciliatory. They involve planets in complementary signs, ie earth and water (as is the case with the current Uranus / Mars interaction) or fire and air (as is the case with Thursday’s sextile between Mercury and Chiron). But where the Uranus / Mars aspect is dynamic and energetic, the Mercury / Chiron aspect is more introspective and reflective.

Mercury sextile Chiron is incredibly empathic. It makes it easier for us to convey our views to those who seem resistant. It can ease the transition between dissent and acceptance, making it not only okay to disagree but a welcome departure. This transit opens up the pathways toward acceptance and understanding.

Chiron features prominently for the rest of the week too, with a square from Mars on Friday and a sextile from the Sun on Sunday. The square to Mars can be challenging: it can see you fighting against the urge to put your own needs aside in favor of the “greater good.” While that might seem like a valid endeavor, it can also skew your perceptions and see you fighting for something you may not believe in after all.

As Mars is out of bounds and debilitated by sign, it may behave a bit like a wild card here: increasing the impulsive and erratic energy that’s already associated with Mars. It’s a highly volatile and potentially explosive condition that can also see you drawing battle lines with those who don’t share your same political or ideological views.

Fortunately by the end of week we’re back to a calmer, gentler Chiron transit, with a sextile to the Sun on Sunday. This aspect can soften some of that combative Mars energy, as it opens us up to the pain and suffering of others that we may normally overlook. It brings compassion and understanding to the forefront and can make it a little easier to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes.

That’s it for this week. See you next week!

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of May 13, 2019 – May 19, 2019:

This week starts with the Sun inconjuncting Jupiter on Monday. This is a feel-good aspect that can be overly dramatic and inclined to go over the top. It can see you feeling so expansive and gregarious that you end up biting off more than you can chew or promising more than you can deliver. The combination of enthusiasm and benevolence can get you thinking you can do more than you really can. And while your heart may be in the right place, your inability to follow through can get you into hot water.

This aspect is known for over-indulging, over-extending and over-committing. In other words overdoing everything. You may be feeling so jovial and so overconfident that you have a hard time reigning in it and exercising any real discipline.

On Tuesday, the Sun trines Pluto and Venus sextiles Mars. The Sun / Pluto aspect is all about harnessing your personal power and channeling it in productive / transformative ways. It’s excellent for business and financial matters since both of these planets are in Earth signs. It can also be used to make positive changes in yourself — as in how you wish to present yourself to the outer world and how you want to be perceived.

The Venus / Mars sextile brings love and romance to the forefront. Even though both of these planets are debilitated by sign, this transit is all about going with the flow and staying in sync with your loved ones. It’s good for attracting new people into your life and for collaborating rather than putting up resistance.

On Wednesday, Venus leaves Aries — the sign of its detriment — and moves into Taurus — the sign of its dignity, where it will remain for the next 3-1/2 weeks. Venus in Taurus is calm, gentle, patient and sensuous. In keeping with the above-mentioned recommendations, this is an excellent time to do landscaping, plant your garden or create a beautiful flowerbed. Venus in Taurus wants to surround itself with beauty and to indulge all five senses.

This is a good time to take a cooking class, visit a winery, redecorate your house, doing energy work or getting in touch with your physical body, through yoga, massage, pilates, etc. As both Venus and Taurus are also linked with money, it’s a good time to think about saving or investing, keeping in mind that the cautions against spending (especially on high-dollar purchases) during this time.

Mars moves into Cancer on Thursday, just as Mercury sextiles Neptune. Mars is debilitated in Cancer, the sign opposite its exaltation (Capricorn). It can be moody, temperamental and irritable. It can also manifest as passive-aggression. But as with all weak planetary placements, there are also some wonderfully favorable aspects: in this case a motivation (Mars) toward empathy, nurturing and caring for others.

Because Mars is also currently out of bounds, you want to be on the lookout for erratic behavior from others during this time. You want to stay centered and not allow your buttons get pushed. Or at the very least recognize the importance of not taking things personally.

The Mercury / Neptune sextile can hopefully soften some of of that erratic Martian energy. This aspect is is excellent for meditating, journaling, or any type of creative communications (songwriting, poetry, composing love letters, etc.) It’s also a highly sensitive aspect that favors getting in touch with your intuition and paying attention to your dreams.

With Mercury trining Saturn (and the South Node) the following day — on Friday — you should be able to put some of that creative intuition to good practical use. It’s a good time to make plans and to assess progress that’s already been made. These trines are both productive and disciplined, so if you want to get something done now is the time to do it.

Mercury / Saturn is focused, rational, ambitious and goal-oriented. Bring them together in a harmonious 120 degree angle (trine) and you’ve got a fantastic recipe for success. And this is serious business: you may not feel like putting your party hat on, but you can get a lot accomplished.

On Saturday, there’s a Full Moon at 27º Scorpio 38. It’s called the Full Flower Moon in Native American traditions, a reference to the abundance of flowers that bloom during the month of May.

The Full Moon provides an overview of the progress you’ve made since its New Moon counterpoint in April. Seeds that were planted then will surely have sprouted; do you need to make adjustments or change your course entirely? Now is the time to think about what you’ve accomplished and where you want to go from here.

As Full Moons are said to shine a spotlight on areas in your chart that are affected (by house position and contacts to other planets) you might look to your own natal chart to see where this will play out for you.

Also on Saturday, Mercury trines Pluto and Venus conjuncts Uranus. Starting with the Mercury / Pluto trine, this aspect is good for digging in deep and ferreting out information that can solve some of your more perplexing emotional responses. It’s good for doing research and looking for hidden clues. It’s also good for deep, soulful, meaningful conversations that get to the heart of the matter.

The Venus / Uranus conjunction is more about establishing your own unique role in relationship. It’s about forging your own path and defining your own concept of relationship, without worrying about status quo expectations. Especially because this conjunction occurs in fiery, passionate and pioneering Aries.

It can bring someone new in, too — a sudden attraction to someone who goes against “type” and can manifest as love at first sight whirlwind romance. Venus and Uranus together can be exciting but somewhat erratic. So stay in the moment rather than projecting any long-term ideals onto a relationship that ignites during this transit.

That’s it for this week. See you next week!

Here is the Ask the Astrologers Weekly Astro Forecast for the week of May 6, 2019 – May 12, 2019:

We start this week on Monday, with Mercury moving into Taurus, joining Uranus, the Sun and Moon. Mercury in Taurus is patient, practical and serene. It can be slow and methodical, mainly because it doesn’t see the point in getting its feathers ruffled over things that are likely to iron themselves out over time.

With all these planets in Taurus, you’re more likely to be thinking a lot about your finances, your income, earnings and savings. It ‘s also a good time to look at changes you want to make in your environment (such as home renovations or landscaping) as well.

As Taurus is a fixed, feminine earth sign, it’s a good time to think about our value systems, the things that we hold near and dear, which as most of us know by now are not always “things.” We can [put good use to this energy by thinking about what is most meaningful for us, and what we can do to cultivate it during this time.

There’s a fixed t-square falling into place on Tuesday, involving Venus, Saturn and the North and South Nodes. Venus is the focal planet of this aspect (squaring both Saturn and the North / South Nodes). On its own, Venus square Saturn is far from pleasant. It can have you confronting your own inadequacies. It can magnify self-consciousness and inhibitions, leaving you feeling uncertain about your own self-worth.

This can lead to misunderstandings or an overly sensitive response to an external event — such as a harsh word or criticism that hurts your feelings. This is not the best time to “put yourself out there” as the combination of these two aspects can magnify your own insecurities and leave you reeling with self-doubt.

The square to the Nodes is called “at the bendings” by classical astrologers, and refers to a period of crisis with emphasis on the concept of fate. As Venus represents romance and relationships (among other things, such as money, personal values and beauty / aesthetics) this can translate as problems identifying with these areas.

It can also manifest as feeling backed into a corner in relationship or being forced to choose between love and something (or someone) else. Feeling like it’s time to update your wardrobe, hair, fashion sense or psychical appearance. Being dissatisfied with what you have going in there areas, with the understanding that you need to make changes.

Although Venus is in mutual reception with Mars, they’re also both debilitated by sign. So while a mutual reception tends to bolster the positive attributes of the planets involved, the potential for that in this case is greatly diminished.

Mercury conjuncts Uranus on Wednesday. This transit is great for brainstorming and thinking outside the box. It’s about innovation, progress and change. Radical ideas and flashes of brilliance.

As the higher octave of Mercury, Uranus is also tied to flashes of genius and insight. It’s inventive, progressive and forward thinking. It relates to expressing your own personal opinions (in contrast to Mercury’s penchant for absorbing facts and ideas that have been gathered from other sources).

This transit brings flashes of insight and brilliance to the table. This is a time of tapping into your higher-consciousness. And you may be doing it without even realizing it. You might hear yourself speaking and wonder where did that come from? Or hear something that you’ve heard hundreds of times before and realize that NOW it makes sense.

Venus trines Jupiter and squares Pluto on Thursday, while the Sun sextiles Neptune. The trine to Jupiter is optimistic, enthusiastic and benevolent, and can see you feeling so good about yourself that others respond in kind. Those feelings of goodwill are infectious and can result in opportunities that come to you through unexpected channels.

The Sun / Neptune sextile can increase your sensitivity to outside influences and leave you feeling more susceptible to psychic impressions, but the Venus / Pluto square can rain on your parade, especially if you’ve been dealing with conflict in your relationships.

Venus is debilitated in Aries, and the hard aspect (square) to Pluto can exacerbate tensions.Problems that have been simmering beneath the surface can come to a head and force you to confront your relationship problems head on.

This is not the time to deliver an ultimatum or back someone into a corner. This transit can be volatile and can lead to actions and decisions that can’t be taken back later. Choose your relationship battles wisely during this time — or better yet choose not to do battle at all.

On Saturday, the Sun trines Saturn and the South Node (which means it simultaneously sextiles the North Node). The Sun / Saturn aspect is focused, rational, disciplined and productive, so if you want to get something done now is the time to do it.

The Nodal aspects can bring new people into your life who feel familiar and who can be instrumental to your evolutionary process. These trines are karmic in nature, meaning that the people you meet during this time are here to propel you toward your destiny — and vice versa. Your actions and interactions can have far reaching repercussions so make sure you treat the people you meet during this time (and all times) with dignity and respect.

That’s it for this week. See you next week!

Aries: Seven of Wands

This month, with your ruler (Mars) moving into Cancer — the sign of its fall — you may feel like your back is against the wall, or that you need to hold your ground against what feels like perilous opposition.

The Seven of Wands — this version from Stephanie Pui-Mun Law’s Shadowscapes Tarot — refers to a need to be more alert, guarded and cautious, rather than accepting things at face value. It can manifest as a need to brace for attack

You may face opposition from others, in the form of competition or outright resistance. You may also feel “under siege:” as in being attacked or ganged up on.

There is a “hold your ground” element to this card which is in keeping with the traditional Seven of Wands. But rather than fighting off someone trying to unseat you, you may be fighting off your own urges to see the grass as greener on the other side.

The Seven of Wands — like all Sevens — refers to a dilemma that is not going to be easily reconciled. The question is: do you take the easy way out (in this case giving in to the masses and compromising your own integrity)? Or do you hold your ground and risk further alienating your detractors?

This card requires you to look at your situation from all sides and figuring out the best course of action. There are issues with boundaries that are present in this card, and it can manifest as feeling imposed upon or backed into a corner. But the same dilemma applies. You have to choose whether to give in or maintain your stance and deal with whatever repercussions result.

Whatever happens this month — no matter how this plays out for you — you’re going to be called upon to take the high road. You’re going to be challenged to stand your ground and to not allow yourself to back down. You’ll also have to reconcile a “me against the world” attitude before it turns into a chip on your shoulder.

TAURUS: Ace of Pentacles

This month, with your ruler (Venus) joining Uranus in your sign, you should be thinking about the world of opportunities before you — to express yourself creatively, expand your social horizons, and generate more prosperity.

The Ace of Pentacles — this version from the Light Grey Tarot Collection — represents the start of something new, and in this case it happens to relate to money. As in new financial opportunities coming your way. While you probably won’t see a windfall, it’s a positive affirmation that you’re putting your energy into the right areas.

You may have recently gotten a raise, started a new job or become the benefactor of someone else’s generosity. You could also be starting to see returns on your earlier investments. Either way, you should have more opportunities and more financial resources at your disposal than you’ve had in recent days.

You may also feel that your luck is changing. As the Ace of Pentacles is associated with a change in fortune — a positive change as I also see Aces as “Yes” cards — as long as the “yes” answer is a positive affirmation. It’s telling you to keep up the good work, to go after your dreams, and to be open to all that the Universe has to offer you.

In this version we see bright golden stars super-imposed over infinite overlapping smaller stars. There’s also a golden tree whose vast roots and limbs spread out across the tiny villages that are sprinkled among the stars. If you look closely you can see homes, trees, mountains, lakes and even people in there.

This imagery feels like an homage to the “spreading the wealth” axiom that is so much a part of prosperity consciousness. It’s an acknowledgment that there is plenty for everyone and that acquiring abundance also involves sharing it with others. You can be confident in the knowledge that fortune is smiling upon you, and while that doesn’t mean you should be foolish with your money, you’re likely to have more of it than usual to work with.

GEMINI: Four of Cups

Have you been feeling like there’s something missing in your life these days? In particular in your love life or in your relationships with others?

The Four of Cups — this version from the beautiful Röhrig  Tarot — can refer to a sense of boredom and discontent. As the bridge between the excitement and promise seen in the Three of Cups and the crisis / despair so often found in the Five of Cups, this card begs the question “Is that all there is?”

The Four of Cups is called “Luxury” in this deck. It refers to the potential for taking something that you no longer have to work for for granted.

Your love life may seem stuck or stagnant; and like gazing into the languorous swirling colors in the center of this card, you may find yourself lost in a hypnotic daze that you’re unable to snap out of.

This card can indicate a sort of listless lack of clarity and perspective, or it can refer to a lack of drive or motivation. Neither of these scenarios are ideal.

Ask yourself what’s holding you back from making your relationships all that they could be? Chances are good you find yourself circling the same issues over and over again, to the extent that it’s become habit.

The Four of Cups is not a “bad” card. But it can also refer to becoming “comfortably numb.” There’s a danger with this card of staying stuck in a situation — settling for good enough — rather than taking a risk on something that’s less of a sure thing.

The colors and swirls in this card are mesmerizing. But they also spiral into the center with no easy way out. Only you can decide for yourself whether what you have now is capable of sustaining you or if it’s time to branch out.

Cancer: Judgment

This month you’ll be taking stock of your life; of the actions and decisions that have led you who you are today. This card calls for self-evaluation and awareness, a need to develop enough spiritual altitude to look objectively at your mistakes and short-comings as well as your triumphs and victories.

The Judgement card is a powerful reminder that in order to put the past behind us we must not only let go of prior judgments but heal the wounds that have been holding us back.

It’s a card of both atonement and forgiveness. Of unconditional love, understanding and acceptance — for both ourselves and for those who’ve hurt us or let us down.

This version — from the beautiful Archeon Tarot — a vulnerable, child-like angel stands before three trumpets, grasping a sword in her hands. She appears to be cutting through the ties that binds, as she prepares to receive her penance. The image is shown in negative form — a symbolic reference to the concept of gaining an inverted perspective and seeing things from another’s point of view.

This card refers to eternity, infinity and timelessness. It refers to the endless human journey that we sometimes refer to as “karma.” We reap and sew with each thought, action, and decision.

It represents a summation of all that has come before, and an awareness that each step taken — from here on out — leaves an indelible imprint on our future. On a personal level, this card speaks of compassion, forgiveness, understanding, and acceptance.

Take this time to tie up loose ends. This can be a literal letting go of the past, but it will more likely relate to putting yourself in other people’s shoes and seeing how the mistakes they’ve made or the grief they’ve caused have been just as much a part of being human and flawed as any direct attempt to cause you pain.

LEO: Six of Wands

This month should see you getting some much-deserved approval or recognition from your peers. The Six of Wands refers to support, approval and acclaim, brought about by something you’ve worked hard to achieve.

You may have been putting a lot of effort into your work and not even realizing that others have taken notice. Or you could be unexpectedly pulled aside by a loved one, just to tell you how much you’re loved and appreciated.

This version — from Antonella Castellii’s Sorcerer’s Tarot — perfectly depicts both the sense of “standing out in a crowd” and of “rising above triumphantly” that is so much a part of this archetype.

The Six of Wands is a card of appreciation and admiration. You “win” something and have earned the right to be satisfied with the spoils of your victory. This isn’t about ego or conceit and it’s never at someone else’s expense. There’s a strong sense of being supported and lifted up by others who rejoice right along with you.

You could be in line for a promotion or award at work. You could be given the ok to go ahead with a project you’ve been excited about. Or it may be as simple as pat on the back and some words of encouragement by those who look up to you.

This is not the time to “bask in your glory,” but rather a time to mirror back to those who are acknowledging you the same sense of gratitude and appreciation. It’s a time to remember the little people — those who have helped you a long the way.

Whatever form this takes for you this month, know that you’ve earned it and that you deserve it. It may just give you the incentive to keep shooting for the stars and manifesting your highest goals.

VIRGO: Ace of Scrolls

Your card this month — the Ace of Swords — is all about achieving the kind of clarity that’s necessary to focus your intentions and accomplish your goals.

The Ace of Swords — this version from the Chrysalis Tarot — can be used as a tool for manifesting. It is raw, pure, unharnessed energy that can be channeled into something both powerful and magical.

It can act as a lightning rod for either positive or negative energy, depending on how it’s used. It refers to getting to the heart of the matter, cutting through the BS, speaking your mind and honoring your truth.

It can be victorious or it can be defiant. And there’s no saying which one this one is. But that’s also a part of taking back your power — deciding whether you want to wield your sword for the greater good or use it as a weapon.

When used negatively it really does “cut like a knife” with respect to cruelty or hurtful words. For this reason it’s sometimes best to put some distance between yourself and whatever outside influences are triggering reactions.

You don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings and you don’t want to risk being rejected — so you find yourself biting your tongue and being resentful for it later. For this reason you’ll have to bite the bullet and make sure you’re able to get to the heart of whatever has been troubling you.

Think about what’s been weighing on your mind that needs to be decided once and for all. And what discussion needs to be had in order to iron out any differences. The Ace of Swords encourages you to speak truthfully, but to do so from the heart. Be considerate of the feelings of others: remember that words can be both helpful and hurtful, so be sure to use yours wisely.

Libra: The Lovers

This month, your ruling planet (Venus) will occupy two important sectors: the 7th (relationship sector) and 8th (sex and intimacy sector), as it transitions from Aries to Taurus. As a results — and whether you’re single, dating, married, separated, divorced or widowed — chances are good you’re going to be thinking about relationships.

The Lover’s card is about “love.” But it’s not always an easy or definitive love. Sometimes there are feelings of ambivalence or uncertainty, and sometimes there are choices to be made that can complicate things even more.

The figures in this card are lost in world of their own. They hold each other in a loving embrace, oblivious to the world around them. This version of the card — from the beautiful Jaen Tarot — emphasizes love and affection.

But life — and love — is not always so simple. This card can also indicate uncertainty in relationship or a decision that needs to be made. You may be wondering where you stand or whether someone you care about feels the same.

You may also be ready to fall head over heels in love and wondering when someone new is coming in.

If you’re in love and happy with your choices, remember to celebrate that love with the object of your affection. And if you’re not — if you’re out there like so many of the rest of us still looking: don’t give up.

The Lovers card — and this one in particular — can serve as a reminder that there’s someone out there for all of us, and that what is most important is having a great big old open heart that you’re ready, willing and able to share with another.

Scorpio: Temperance

This month you may find yourself looking for ways to release some pent-up energy and frustration. With both of your ruling planets (Mars and Pluto) involved in intense aspects, it’s going to be important for you to ease some tension and restore the equilibrium in your life.

The Temperance card — from  the Mary-el Tarot — refers to bringing the opposing aspects of your personality (or your relationships, or your desires) into alignment by finding that perfect middle ground.

That’s not always easy — especially if you’re dealing with competing urges — such as the desire to move full speed ahead in pursuit of a goal vs. the need to hold back, regroup and exercise restraint.

The imagery in this card is a dramatic departure from what we’re using to seeing. In place of the traditional symbols of balance, harmony and moderation, we see a tiger slicing through the ocean’s current and propelling himself toward his destination.

He moves with such purpose and ferocity that we might not notice how these two seemingly incompatible forces join together. But this is the essence of the Temperance card. The juxtaposition of masculine (tiger) and feminine (water), hot and cold — notice the steam rising from his back — combined with the tiger’s dogged determination against the backdrop of the water’s mutability.

There are several repeating themes here of joining / merging / blending opposing forces. Such as the small flock of birds in the distance — representing lightness and freedom — trailing the waterlogged beast. Also note the predominant colors — turquoise and orange — and their relation to the throat and sacral chakras, e.g., the intermarriage of passion and surrender.

Like the gulls hovering in the distance, you may need to rise above your situation and get some spiritual altitude. Or like the tiger swimming against the tide, you may find that your journey becomes less arduous the more willing you are to give in to the forces of nature and go with the ebb and flow.

Sagittarius: Three of Coins

Now is the time to put your head together with others and work on bringing a project to fruition. The Three of Coins is a “teamwork” card, among other things.

It’s about hitting your stride and seeing initial results of something you’ve been working hard on. Sometimes you need help to take it to the next level, even if that comes in the form of a critical eye.

The Three of Coins — like all Threes — refers to the initial stages of progress where you’ve taken an idea (the Ace), put it into production (the Two), and are making progress now toward creating something real (the Three).

The imagery in this card — from the Joie de Vivre Tarot — describes this process beautifully. All three of these creatures are working together in harmony, with the central figure holding a coin that has a Full Moon inscribed on it while the other two are presenting him with coins of their own: one with a crescent (New) Moon and the other a crescent (Balsamic) Moon. These three phases of the Moon refer to the stages of a project from start to finish.

There’s an interdependence depicted here and a camaraderie. Each of these figures needs the others and all of them are contributing equally.

It’s a good time to reach out to others and ask for help if you need it. It can’t hurt to offer it to those who’d benefit from your assistance too. You may need a little push to get past a hump, or you may need the discerning eye of someone you trust.

The Three of Coins says that you’re making progress and should be feeling good about what you’ve accomplished so far. But there’s still work to be done, and you won’t be able to do it alone.

CAPRICORN: Three of Wands

This should be a good month to be thinking about progress you’ve made on goals you have underway as you plan your next moves.

You may feel the need to take a breather, or “rise above” it all in order to get an overview of how much you’ve already accomplished.

The Three of Wands — this version from the Ceccoli Tarot —  refers to steps that have been taken and seeds that have been planted that are now starting to produce results. You can look at how far you’ve come and use that as a springboard for advancing your goals.

You can see the work in progress aspect in this card with the chain of flowers the angel figure strings together from the top of her perch. While it’s clear this has been an ongoing project, it looks like she’s hitting her stride now with the altitude she’s attained.

That’s one important feature of the Three of Wands — setting things in motion so that the work you’ve already done keeps building on itself while you expand your horizons. In doing so your project (or your goal, or your relationship) begins to take on a life of its own — much like the chain of flowers in this card.

Notice the fox sniffing at the flowers in the background. This could spell trouble and there’s a chance our little angel will have to rethink some of her goals. But if she’s put enough of forethought into laying her foundations, she won’t have any trouble turning incidents like these to her advantage.

The Three of Wands encourages you to push past your limitations and expand your horizons. It will mean stepping outside of your comfort zone and exploring uncharted territories. And while you run into pitfalls or have to take detours along the way, know that these are often blessing in disguise that can open up a whole new world of possibilities.

AQUARIUS: Queen of Cups

This month you may feel the need to step away from the demands on your time and energy, and treat yourself to something special.

The Queen of Cups is known to be sensitive, compassionate and caring. She’s also incredibly loving and giving — in fact she’s so giving that she may sometimes forfeit her own needs as she focuses her attention on others.

But this Queen of Cups — from the gorgeous Chinese Tarot by Jui Guoliang — seems to know a thing or two about tending to her own needs. She’s not only surrounded herself with luxury, she’s indulging all five of her senses.

There’s the aromatic incense wafting through the room, the colorful Ibises painted on the wall, the tinkling bells that adorn her elegant headdress, the delicate tea she sips from her dainty cup, and the opulent silken fibers that make up her royal garb.

This Queen has created a sacred space for her to retreat to and indulge her appreciation for the finer things in life. She’s graceful and elegant and probably also quite wealthy. You can tell that she’s very much at home in the space she’s created and is certainly in no hurry to leave it behind.

The Queen of Cups though may be someone in your life — a parent, older sibling, friend or supervisor.

Or she could be the person you need to turn to when you’re feeling insecure or uncertain. She may also be a version of you that needs to be brought to the forefront. Either way — it’s all about giving and receiving comfort. Making others feel at home. Letting them know you are there for them. And being willing to take off..
