After blogging for almost 12 years, it beats me that I still did not have my very own business card for my very own brand *a~hem*-Tekkaus.com. Sometimes I felt really embarrassed when people asked me to furnish them with my very own card and all I could do was to look at them and smiled. After that I would hastily try to grab any pencil or paper to write down my blog URL and other necessary contacts. All this while, I thought that creating my very own business card was going to be difficult and expensive until I stumble upon Gogoprint! My savior-seriously!

My very first business card for Tekkaus.com

Initially I was skeptical about printing my business cards online as I was unsure whether the results would be good or not. That was why I turned to traditional localized business card printer to help me out. Unfortunately I had a few setbacks while requesting for quotation at my local stores. Most of them told me that I needed to design my card on my own without any help whatsoever which was a bummer. Then I chanced upon this gem on the Internet thanks to Mr. Google. After searching high and low literally for high quality business card which is cheap, I finally stumbled upon Gogoprint. Now you can design and print your own business card online easily and it is cheap!

Introducing Gogoprint-high quality business cards printer at low prices

I actually asked from a few local freelance graphic designers the cost to design my business card and I was shocked to learn that they are charging somewhere between RM150 to RM250 for a complete front-and-back design. That is why I said Gogoprint is my saviour. I was really impressed with the integrated business card designer on their website. Altogether there are 63 different FREE templates with various designs and colours for you to choose from. Yes~it is free of charge to use the online designer instead of hiring expensive graphic designer.

It is really easy to make your business card with the FREE template designer
There are 63 different templates for you to choose from.

The designs are professional, funky and colourful! :)

Yupe~I picked this template for my business card

After browsing for some time, I zeroed down on that template design which I love and started to edit and customize my very first business card. I just needed to upload the cover that I have grabbed from my Facebook fan page and my blog icon; I typed in my details such as phone number, my blog URL, social media connections and voila! My very first business card for my blog is done in less than 10 minutes online. How I wish I knew about this online printing company sooner.

After you have selected your template, you just need to customize it.

It is really easy as you just need to upload the image that you already have

See, I uploaded my image that I grabbed from my Facebook page

Uploaded my blog icon and typed in other details!

Ta~da! I am done. Here is the preview.

Then I selected the paper and the type of finishing that I want for my business card.
Glossy lamination of course! :)

Select the number of copies that you want. The more the better of course.

Lastly you just need to pay and wait for it to arrive at your doorstep. :)

Payment can be done easily too after you have specified the amount that you want, the type of paper to be used and of course the finishing that you desire for your business card. I have personally chosen the lamination glossy on both sides for my business cards as I want my cards to feel more premium and high class. Ha :D All in all I only paid RM57.00 for 300 pieces of glossy laminated business cards. Delivery of my business cards was really fast as it took around 2 to 3 days only for them to arrive at my doorstep though it was stated that it would arrive later. So another thumbs up for the company.

I am so in love with my business card. :)

I was really dumbstruck when I unwrapped my business cards for the very first time! In fact I was so touched at the sight of my classy-looking business cards that I almost cried. I could not hold back the tears of joy to see them being so beautifully printed. When I touched my cards, the glossy lamination on them really exudes that premium feel which certainly made my business cards stand out. *I am so proud* The colours are so vividly vibrant and attractive. OMG! Thank you Gogoprint for making this possible! I am so going to recommend this printing company to anyone who wants to print their business cards. Kudos!

Can you smell it? *Sniff Sniff* The sweet scent of love is hanging densely in the air-perforating every single breath that we take; Making you feel that you want to be swept off your feet. It is the 14th of February again and lovebirds, husbands and wives and would be lovers will be relishing the magic that this meaningful day brings. To yours truly me, this day is important as it is a special occasion for me to celebrate the love of my life. :)

To the one and only woman in my life.
Throwback our old photos when we were younger. LOL :D

Today was kinda hectic for me as I had work as usual until 5:30p.m. Then I rushed home after picking up my 2 little babies from their after school care. On the way back home, I needed to remind my wife not to cook and this was supposed to be her day off (Still she cooked two bowls of meatballs noodles for her babies). I floored the gas as much as I could...-OK! This sounded wrong. Correction: We headed home safe and sound as quickly as we could and then straight away I went out  again on my bike to buy pizzas from Domino's for the whole family. :)

Happy Valentine's Day! :)

We really had a feast and of course we were stuffed to the max like Christmas Turkeys. Ha :D After that we chit chatted and spent time together watching our favourite TVB drama. Then we accompanied our little babies to play firecrackers before retreating to our bedroom. It appeared that our day was going to end until I drew out my gifts for my wife. They were a book and a red origami rose. My wife loves her gifts so much especially her new everlasting flower. She actually warned me not to buy any real rose that will eventually wilt last night...so yeah I heeded her advice and I spent some time learning how to fold an origami version of the flower. LOL :D

An everlasting bloom. :)

That's all for my simple but meaningful Valentine's Day. How about yours? I hope everyone will be loving and be loved unconditionally on this very special day. George Sand said it best-There is only one happiness in life-to love and be loved. If your love has not appeared yet, it simply means that He believes you deserve someone better and more special. After all, nothing worthwhile comes easily. So...again Happy Valentine's Day to everyone. :)

 Don't forget to say I love you-every day. :)

Besides Ang Pow and firecrackers and gambling, what is very synonymous with the festivity of Chinese New Year? Yes, you got it right-FOOD! During our 15-day of celebration (16 plus Chinese New Year Eve), we will indulge in sinful and yummy food non-stop more than what we will usually allow ourselves to do. So when we talk about food what comes to your mind during our Lunar New Year? Tossing of Yee Sang and steamboating right? :)

Our homemade Yee Sang

When we arrived in Taiping on the second day of Chinese New Year after our 5 hours' drive, my father-in-law had already prepared lunch for us. Yep! He is a good cook and he had whipped out a few dishes since morning, awaiting for our arrival and of course to see his beloved grandchildren. Once we were back home, my wife then helped to prepare ingredients that would be used for the Yee Sang later.

Before we start to toss our Yee Sang!

Soon it was afternoon and our reunion lunch was served. On the table was a wonderful spread of feast that we could not wait to sink our teeth into. But before we started to dig in, we actually toss Yee Sang first to usher the brand new year. Our colourful homemade Yee Sang was made of red chili, cabbage, carrot, black fungus, vegetables, egg and cashew nuts. After adding some olive oil, we started to...TOSS our Yee Sang! It is customary for the Chinese to have this dish as it is claimed that your wealth will be in abundance after tossing this dish high up in the air. I wish we had salmon fillet which will make our otherwise awesome Yee Sang even better. :p

Let's add some olive oil

Let's LAO (toss) of YEE SANG!

This is our tossed Yee Sang. Ha :D

Our lunch was a feast fit for a king as we had perfectly cooked huge, succulent prawns with healthy sprinkle of wolfberry. We also had a huge fish steamed with the secret sauce prepared by my father-in-law. The meat was tender and the chopped spring onion really enhanced the aroma of the fish, making me drool even though I am not really into fish. Moreover we also had a huge pot of Bak Kut Teh which was my favourite. I really loved the fragrance of the broth and its texture which coated every grain of my rice flawlessly. Finger licking good! :D

Huge, juicy prawns

Bak Kut Teh

Steamed fish

Vegetables with button mushrooms

Chicken liver? :D

Seaweed mushroom soup

Apart from that, we also got to indulge in seaweed fishball soup which Jordan and Jasmine really enjoyed. I think there was also a dish of chicken liver (or another type of innards) which tasted really flavourful as well. IMHO besides the delectable Bak Kut Teh, the highlight for our reunion lunch was the Fat Choy Chicken (Chicken of Wealth). It is hoped that this dish will bring us endless stream of wealth and prosperity. Ha :D The cuisine was a combination of chicken and Fat Choy-which is a type of vegetables. I must admit that the dish itself looked very presentable.

The Fat Choy Chicken! :D

Towards the end, I remember that most of our stomachs were bloated thanks to the endless amount of food at our disposal. Oh yeah~we also got to binge on bottomless cups of Coke and chrysanthemum drink. Buuurrrpppp. I guess this is what Chinese New Year means right? Get fat without having any guilt at all. Wait I mean enjoy good food with your beloved family. :)

I once thought that air fryer is just a fancy kitchen gadget that will turn into a white elephant soon after you have unwrapped the lavish packaging; I was also very skeptical about the food that you cook with this so-called "frying using the air" technology. I asked myself, "Will the food even be edible let alone tasty?" Those are the questions that have been stopping me from believing in any air fryer until...I was introduced to this Russell Taylors' Air Fryer. Honestly after trying it for the first time, my perception of food cooked by air fryer has completely changed.

 Introducing Russell Taylors Air Fryer

Benefits of using this air fryer

What can you do with an air fryer?

Let's unbox my air fryer right now. :)

First and foremost, for those uninitiated non-believer like the previous me, an air fryer uses hot air convection to cook your food. In other words, instead of using OIL to fry your food, an air fryer will use AIR to cook your meals. This translates to less oil/fat being used and ultimately you will get to enjoy healthier food which is equally delicious if not better. So what is the secret of this Russell Taylors air fryer? Apparently it utilizes advanced, rapid hot air circulation technology to cook your food from all angles swiftly and evenly.

I can't help but fall in love with this air fryer of mine.

Sleek and elegant

I got myself the Russell Taylors Digital Air Fryer AF-36 XL which is the company's biggest air fryer (4.8 liters) to date. Right after I had ripped the box open, I was greeted by this sleek, jet-black coloured air fryer which really looks like a fashion statement on its own. Its design is simple, yet it exudes so much elegance to it that it can be placed in any corner in my kitchen. The digital panel nestled on top of the machine makes it even more remarkable, giving it that premium, sophisticated touch. OK! I was totally swooned by its look; Can it walk the talk? Let's see.

So how do we use this Russell Taylors air fryer?

Push forward to transparent button to reveal the frying basket

Just look at the huge capacity!

Using the air fryer for the very first time was truly effortless as it was easy to operate even without reading the manual (by you are advised to read it first :p). Pretty intuitive if you ask me! After holding the hand grip, all you need to do is to push the "transparent squarish button" forward to draw out the pan which is nestling the frying basket. To separate the basket from the pan, just press the dial underneath the transparent button to release the basket. This mechanism allows you to wash the pan and basket after dishing out your meals.

Time to cook?

When in doubt, do refer to the manual...which I didn't because it was really easy to use.

So how do we cook our food such as chicken or fish using the air fryer? It is pretty easy. Basically all you need to do is to put whatever you want to cook into the basket and push the pan into the air fryer again. Then the digital control panel will be activated, prompting you how you would like your food to be cooked. You can either control it manually in terms of temperature and timer or you can use the cooking preset menu (there are 7 to choose from) to cook your food. As for me, I cooked my fish and chicken just by using the preset menu, sat back and relaxed! It was really, really easy. After 20 minutes or so, my perfectly air-fried fish and chickens are  ready to be served! Voila~it is time to feast!

My wife was really excited to use her air fryer.

Here we go...

You can either set the temperature and timer manually or...

You can use the preset menu to cook your food. EASY!

Is the food cooked by my Russell Taylors Air Fryer tasty? Is it better than conventional cooking using wok and pan? The verdict is... *drum roll* the fish and chicken cooked by using the air fryer were really, really more delicious and flavourful compared to traditional way of cooking them *gasped*. To be brutally honest, I did not expect them to taste this scrumptious as I had always believed nothing beats wok and pan. How wrong was I.

Ding! The fish is ready to be served!

Look at my happy wife, holding her perfectly cooked fish minus the odour. :)

Crispy on the outside but tender and juicy on the inside!

It is easy to prepare dinner with our air fryer now.

The skin of the fish was so crispy and yet not a single drop of oil was used to fry the fish. The fish was fried to perfection and the meat was so tender, sweet and juicy. I believe the air frying technology can lock the juice in the meat, giving the fish that lips-smacking goodness! I was really taken aback with the results to be honest. Moving on, we threw in 6 pieces of chicken wings (yeah~the frying basket is really big) into the air fryer and waited for them to be cooked. We pressed the desired menu and voila in no time our sleek, jet-black air fryer was beeping, informing us that our chicken wings are ready!

How about chicken wings?

Visually, all 6 of the chicken wings were air fried flawlessly as you can tell by looking at the golden brown texture of the skin. But how about the taste? I sank my teeth into the chicken wings and oh my God~immediately I knew that the chicken wings were masterfully cooked. Like the fish, the chicken meat was delicate and lusciously delectable. How was this even possible? Again it was because of the all-angle rapid air technology used by Russell Taylors. I am truly impressed to say the least.

Our chicken wings are ready.

Masterfully cooked without the need to flip the chicken wings or deal with any popping hot oil!

Healthy golden brown chicken wings

Even my wife who is one of the greatest cooks that I have known, gives her nod of approval for this air fryer. Moreover she claims that besides cooking fish, chicken or whatever we desire to perfection, the use of air fryer also means that she can free up her time to do something else while waiting for our food to be served. This is what we call convenience right? My wife also loves the air fryer because she does not need to sniff in those odours while frying her fish or chicken anymore. Thanks to the integrated air filter, the use of air fryer also means that your cooking will be clean and your kitchen will be odourless. Thumbs up!

Wifey is really, really happy with the chicken wings.

The chicken wings were really finger-licking good!

So can an air fryer replace your wok and pan? The answer is no. However I must admit that an air fryer is a must-have cooking companion to complement your cooking experience. I am really, really happy to get this huge air fryer for my wife. Now she can can cook tasty dinner for us every single day. In fact this air fryer is also a multi-cooker which means you can bake a cake, grill calamari and even roast a whole chicken with it! Dayum! I am drooling right now.

Usually we will cook during Chinese New Year eve for our scrumptious feast. On the first day of Chinese New Year, some who opt not to cook will find it difficult to search for a Chinese restaurant which is still open for business. If you happen to be in Malacca and is looking for delicious family reunion dinner on the 1st of day of Chinese New Year, do head over to Wellen Restaurant 威龙茶餐室 in Cheng. My family has patronized this restaurant for the past 3 years and I personally recommend the food served here.

They even set up extra tents to accommodate more customers.

Unlike some Chinese restaurants which rely heavily on foreign workers to cook and serve their food, all the workers in this Wellen Restaurant are actually family members. Having said so, rest assured that the quality, authenticity and hygiene of the food will be much, much better than other Chinese restaurants. Then again, a lot of Chinese restaurants are closed during the first second or third day of Chinese New Year.

My beloved wifey and her mini. :D

Another good thing about this restaurant is that you can book or make reservation for your dinner a few days before your actual patronage. We called them up one week earlier and they took down our orders word-by-word. In other words, we do not need to reorder anything when we visit the restaurant. The advantage of calling in earlier is that they will prepare the ingredients that will be needed for your dishes beforehand. So when you arrive at the restaurant, with there mere mention of your name, food will be served in no time.

Our first dish-spicy curry fish

When we arrived at the restaurant, a few other families were already waiting patiently for their dinner. We informed the waitress that we had placed our order earlier, she nodded and off she left to attend to other customers. So we began to chit chat, thinking that it would take some time before we could start enjoying our dinner. After all there were so many tables with empty plates. Surprisingly, in around 5 minutes' time our first dish arrived on out table. It was our spicy curry fish. Talking about speed huh! Perhaps that is the benefit of booking earlier?

Spinach

Omelette

I thought the spicy curry fish was really ambrosial. It was not too spicy nor was it too creamy for our liking; Meaning that not too much coconut milk was added to prepare the dish. The fish fillet was succulent and the curry was really rich in flavour and not to mention very appetizing too. Thanks to this dish, we could shovel spoons or rice into our gaping mouths quite quickly. The next dish was kung pao chicken. Everything in this dish was impeccably cooked. The chicken cubes were tender while the mixture of dried chili, onions and the different sauces had truly made our mouth watered.

Mixed vegetables tofu soup

We also had our usual stir-fried spinach with garlic, omelette and mixed vegetables tofu soup. The spinach was flawlessly cooked as the whole dish was very soft and flavourful thanks to the addition of garlic. The omelette, though looked relatively normal was sizzled to perfection as the golden brown texture of the fragrant egg wrapped the other well-cooked ingredients inside of it. I like the mixed vegetables tofu soup as well. The broth was not too watery and the texture was really ideal to water down our throat-al dante!

Behold: salted egg fried calamari

Last but not least, the star of our reunion dinner was the delectable salted egg fried calamari. OMG! This dish totally stole the limelight thanks to its gratifying burst of rich flavours. The golden salted egg coating the calamari really made it more savory. It was perfectly cooked as you will notice how crispy it was the moment you sink your teeth into these dainty "golden rings"; on the inside the calamari was very luscious as it was juicy and scrumptious. The added curry leaves and chopped chili totally elevated the taste of the whole dish. Fingers licking good I would say!

Grandpa with Jordan boy

Grandpa with Jasmine girl

All in all, we ordered 6 different dishes for our reunion dinner and all of them cost only RM113.00  (US$28) which was really, really cheap right? Though it was the first day of Chinese New Year and lots of other restaurants were not serving any food, the owner of Wellen Restaurant decided to charge us the normal price rate. Some other restaurants would greedily hike their prices but not this restaurant. So if you are in Malacca (Cheng area) and is wondering what to eat for dinner (especially during Chinese New Year), I would highly recommend you to give Wellen Restaurant 威龙茶餐室 a try. :)

I am sure everyone had a feast. :D

All this while I have always felt that vegetarian food is not palatable let alone being branded as  delicious. When the word "organic" comes to my mind, immediately I will think about raw vegetables which are far form being scrumptious. That was before I discovered this hidden food haven in Melaka; Introducing Ku Cha Be (古早味) which serves unbelievably flavourful organic food that will make you drool for more. The best part is, the food served here is Halal and vegetarian-friendly. Of course, non-vegetarian like me really enjoyed it as well.

 Unmistakable rustic charm

Ok~let's go in to makan already.

Situated near the city centre, Ku Cha Be offers a different take to food preparation and presentation. The moment you arrived at the doorstep of the restaurant, you will instantaneously know that you have come to the right place. Right before your eyes are wooden panels of windows which exudes so much rustic charm to it. The two little rattan stools fit just perfectly amidst the homey setting. It makes me feel like I have returned to my ancestral home.

Welcome to Ku Cha Be

The interior does exude that classic feel to it

I thought the marble table and wooden chairs really complement each other

Nostalgic touches-tiffins, sewing machines, metal biscuit boxes and radio just to name a few.

Inside the restaurant, you will be greeted by their friendly waiters who will usher you and help you with your orders. I really like the interior as it is simple and classical. The presence of those white ethereal marble tables being dotted by the equally traditional timbered chairs make the whole ambiance very cozy. The sight of old sewing machine, pastel tiffins, antique typewriter really breathe life into the whole place-giving it that olden days nostalgia. It feels like you actually travel back in time when you dine in here. Heck! Even the round hickory switches from my grandparents' era are making a cameo here.

More decorations: Even the switches are old school.

Let's order our food: Self-service

The menu looks really beautiful as well.

After we were done mesmerizing the decorations, we started to browse through the menu to look at what we could savour for our lunch. My wife ordered the Hakka Lei Cha while I opted for Hakka Porridge as my throat felt a little parched on that day; Our Jordan boy chose his usual Wan Tan Mee and our flamboyant Jasmine girl preferred something more spicy-Nasi Lemak. Obviously all four of us got to pick our very own comfort food to fill our growling stomachs. Who said we cannot enjoy everything under the same roof? Ouh yeah~we also ordered their Red Bean Soup for our after-meal dessert.  :)

What we have ordered. :)

The first dish to land on our table was my Hakka Porridge. I was pleasantly surprised as my food was hidden inside the bamboo steamer that we would usually see in a dim sum restaurant. Once the lid was lifted, the bowl of brown-rice porridge was adorably circled by 7 little dishes ranging from salted bean curd, long bean, soft-succulent black fungus, ground nuts, chopped vegetables, crispy dumpling and another vegetable dish that I could not distinguished. When I mixed everything into the porridge and tried a spoon of it...BAM! Every spoon was bursting of toothsome flavours which made me yearn for more.

 My Hakka Porridge

The steaming basket really made the whole dish more exquisite

7 different little dishes to mix with my brown rice porridge

Up next was my wife's Hakka Lei Cha which looked a little bit like yee sang to me. Ha :D Being served on a bamboo tray, the brown rice was the center of the attractions as it was being embraced by a mixture of vegetables, cabbage, groundnuts, sesame seeds, bean curd, puffed rice, spring onions and even carrots. Talk about green food huh! Before we continue: what does Lei Cha means? Literally it translates to "crushed" or "pounded" tea. So the emerald-coloured tea in the teapot next to the aforementioned ingredients is actually made from various ingredients ground to perfection for you to enjoy. After sampling the Lei Cha, I believe the ingredients include organic wulong tea, mint, basil and coriander. The combination of the side dishes and Lei Cha made an amazingly toothsome and nutritious meal. My wife really enjoyed it a lot. Yummy!

Hakka Lei Cha at its best

Wifey really enjoyed her nutrition-packed Lei Cha! :)

Jordan boy's Wan Tan Mee was not a let down as well as he told me that it tasted really titillating. The noodle which was made from unbleached flour, was really springy and well-seasoned. He enjoyed the fried, crispy dumpling as well. I was really impressed to see so many different ingredients being stuffed into the dumpling. He enjoyed his so much that he even reached out for my dumpling. Greedy boy! :p

Organic Wan Tan Mee is served

Time to eat!

The best dish today-Nasi Lemak!

The aromatic brown rice, the lemon grass tempeh and the toothsome chili!

Can daddy eat yours? :)

Both of them enjoyed their food a lot.

Bean curd with the ever delectable parsley!

As for my daughter, she just couldn't stop spooning her soft tasty brown rice with coconut milk into her little mouth. Honestly...the aromatic santan (coconut milk) of the rice was so fragrant that I could not help but to sample a few spoons myself. The spinach was flawlessly cooked so it was tender while the cucumber was so fresh that I had a few myself (usually I don't eat these cucumber slices). Now...I highly recommend the Tempeh Ground Nut which was seasoned with lemon grass! OMG~it was not only crispy but also really, really, really damn gratifying! Wait...I'm not done...even the home-made chili paste totally blew my mind as it had just the right balance of spiciness and herbaceous to it that made me feel so insatiable!

Red Bean Soup

Wifey enjoying the dessert.

Did we enjoy ourselves? You bet. :)

Our dessert appeared last and it was just the perfect final course for us to wind down. The Red Bean Soup ticked all the boxes as it was dainty and light. The combination of red bean, black glutinous rice, pandan, tangerine peel, ginger and gula Melaka really makes for an invigoratingly refreshing tonic (or dessert). The bill came at RM51 which was reasonably cheap for the glorious food and zen..

A reader lives a thousand life before he dies while the man who never reads live only once. This quote is so profound and it means so much to me. We are all aware that there is nothing like the smell of paper and the rustle of the pages as we flip gently through our book with our fingers. Can e-books replace the traditional pages of bounded words? I doubt as I have read both "books" and I will always return to the REAL books of mine. That is why I have always inculcate in my children the importance of reading. :)

There are thousand to choose from

You can browse according to age group. :)

I am proud to say that both Jordan boy and Jasmine girl have fallen in love with books ever since we bought lots of books for them when they were still little babies. The problem is...they have turned into voracious book readers; So much so that I can't keep up with their pace of reading in terms buying new books for them. As we are aware good books do not come cheap right? That was the case until I stumbled upon My Children's Books. Gosh! Why didn't I discover this earlier?

Both Jordan and Jasmine are choosing their books. :)

Introducing My Children's Books which is a one stop website in Malaysia for you to purchase cheap used books online which are still in amazingly new condition. I have browsed through their extensive collection and I must admit that I am impressed with the plethora of titles available at our disposal. There are thousands of books for you to choose from with discounts up to 80%! Damn...I wish I had known this earlier. I could have saved so much money while still providing my little monsters with books to read.

You can also choose through these suggested categories.

Upon unearthing this gem online, I actually asked my children's opinions on what they want to read. Since the books sold in this online bookstore are so CHEAP, I actually allowed both of them to choose as many books as they fancy. Wow! I look so generous and loving to them. LOL :D In fact I even cast the list of books on my TV to let them have a clearer picture on what they can choose. This online bookstore is special as it distinctively categorized all the books according to different age group. This is truly an added convenience from them.

I want this book! I want this book!

I wanna be a dork! I wanna be a dork! LOL :D

So we headed to the "ages 9 to 12" category and started on our wonderful book-choosing journey. Both of them were visibly excited and picked as many books that they could. I kept on reminding them, "No worries, just choose any books that you like!" Of course I could boast in such a way as the books are really, really cheap. :p So after browsing the inventory for almost half an hour, we finally narrowed down the books that they wanted to read and voila we headed to the check out with our shopping cart.

These are the books that we had ordered.

All in all, we had purchased 15 books of different genres ranging from novel to encyclopedia. Guess how much did all of these books cost? So we bought 15 books for only RM149.20 (US$36)? I really can't believe it but that's the amount that we had to pay. After checking out, my two little babies couldn't stop nagging me, asking me when THEIR books would arrive. I said soon-soon. The next morning, they asked the same question again-When will our books arrive? Soon! :p

After two days, I received a knock from Poslaju, informing me that my parcel had arrived. Yupe~it took only two days for the books to arrive at my doorstep. Ouh~by the way, did I mention that they provide FREE SHIPPING as well for purchase of over RM100? So with My Children's Books, you do not have to worry about your books being more expensive due to the shipping fees. A total piece of mind knowing that you are getting the most bang for your hard-earned money.

Can we unwrap our books already? :p

The moment my two kiddos returned from school, DAMN~they were so excited to see the grey package as they knew that the books that they had been yearning for days (39 hours to be exact) were finally right in front of them. They quickly grabbed their scissors and started to "unwrap" their books. I will never forget the joy in their eyes when they held the books in their hands. Priceless. I have always believed that an investment in knowledge pays the best interest. I am glad that I can buy more books for them now thanks to My Children's Books.

Ready~go!

Can you guys slow down a bit?

Almost there. :p

Happily holding their books. :D

So dear parents (and grandparents) out there: Do not deprive our little ones the joy of reading books-REAL books. Nothing can substitute the pleasure and benefits that the pages in a book can provide our children. Contrary to popular belief, reading is not really an expensive hobby as you can always find cheap, used books online and they are still in absolutely new condition-some are even minted. The more our children read, the more knowledgeable they will become and they will of course have more sense of empathy as well.

Ever since Apple introduced the notch, a lot of other smartphone makers have followed suit which has rendered the whole design of smartphones to be rather boring and stale. A few companies think that the notch is ugly and they intend to incorporate the front-facing camera rather differently. NEX Pop-up Camera smartphone and NEX Dual Display are two of the smartphones from Vivo which believe there is more to life than just notches. Oppo also introduced their Find X which boasts futuristic hidden motorized camera that looks damn awesome! Clearly, the notch will be a thing in the past in 2019!

Design & Display
Introducing Honor View 20 which is the world's first (outside of China) smartphone with hole-punch camera. When you first lay your eyes on the smartphone, you will not notice the 'hole-punch' camera on the top left corner of the display. Obviously without the notch, the screen looks much bigger right? You will appreciate the huge beautiful 6.4-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2310x1080 with a broader aspect ratio. In other words, the display is wider in our hand.

So what happens after the notch had been replaced by a hole-punch camera? Interestingly, apps will extend its display even beyond the hole-punch area which means there will be tricky, testing situations whereby you might not hit the 'x' to close certain menus or advertisements. Then again it might not be a problem after all as most apps will simply just ignore the existence of the camera to function normally. Nonetheless this hole-punch display by Honor is really amazing since the company has actually outdone its more premium sibling-Huawei.

Which is your favourite colour?

Besides the gorgeous display, View 20 can definitely be a fashion statement on its own thanks to its aesthetic. Flip the phone to the back and you will be greeted by the stunning V-patterned finish which reflects light to become a visual spectacle. The solid aluminium frame and smooth curved glass give the device a very premium finish. The buttons are interestingly made of metal and you can even spot the rare  sight of 3.5mm headphone jack. I am glad that Honor did not do an iPhone with this latest marvel of theirs.

Performance & Specification
Under the hood, View 20 is powered by Kirin 980 octa-core chipset which has different cores to handle different tasks individually at the same time. It is also complemented by a whopping 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Sadly microSD card slot is missing, which is real bummer of a shutterbug like me. For its price point, this smartphone is really a bargain for those who want power for gaming, work or entertainment.

Up close and personal

Besides the fingerprint reader at the back, there is also Face Recognition which utilizes the front camera for you to log into your device securely. Of course we would have preferred an in-display fingerprint scanner. Guess that's how their differentiate the flagships between Honor and Huawei. In terms of battery, the device is powered by 4,000mAh cell which can last your for 2 days for moderate usage. It supports 22.5W SuperCharge through USB-C and of course wireless charging is also absent for the reason we have mentioned earlier.

View 20 Cameras
It is not a secret that more and more companies are focusing on cameras as this id no doubt the most-used feature in a smartphone. It appears that Honor View 20 is firing full cylinders in this department as well with its 48MP rear Sony camera, paired with a huge sensor and fast f/1.8 aperture. That is really a lot of resolution to capture images with lots of details. The second rear camera-3D TOF (Time of Flight) is there to detect depth, to help you blur backgrounds and what not for your bokehs and portrait shots. Flip the phone to the front and you will get your 25MP f/2.0 front-facing camera which of course can help you to take flawless selfies.

HONOR View20: Official Introduction [Launches Today in China] - YouTube

So is Honor View 20 the flagship budget smartphone that you have been waiting for? With triple antenna setup and Link Turbo (4G+WiFi) and dual-frequency (L1+L5) GPS thrown in, it is a bargain for its relatively mid-range price tag. The Honor View 20 is going to be officially unveiled in Malaysia for sale for this coming Saturday (26th January 2019) with an expected retail price of RM2,199. There will be a roadshow at 1Utama in conjunction with the release of View 20.

I believe no mother can ever forget the precious moments that they have spent with their little daughter. A girl will always have a special place in their mother's heart as they are the essentially the same. My beloved wife and I adore our little Jasmine a lot, so much so that we think we might have over-pampered her a little bit. Can't be helped right? After all he is our only daughter and naturally she will be treated like a princess. :p

Look at her face...

Though I still whack her from time to time (YES! I whack my kids if they don't toe the line), she really knows how to say the right words and do the right things to make our heart melts. She really loves to look good like a princess. Unlike her elder brother who couldn't have cared about his hair or shirt, Jasmine girl wants to ensure that she is impeccable from head to toes. That is why she will ask her mother to help her comb her hair and tie it up, which my wife willingly oblige. After all...how many more years can she do this for her right?

Mother & daughter

Though my wife doesn't need to wake up as early as us since she is not driving them to school, she still insists that she wants to send us off. More importantly, she wants to attend to our big babies and make sure that everything is OK for them. Just before we leave, Jasmine will be sitting together with her dotting mother to have her short crowning glory combed nicely and tied up. Though this might not seem much, I believe my wife will always treasure such priceless moments of her and her daughter. After all they are both ladies right? So they actually share a lot of things in common that neither me nor my son could (would want to) comprehend. LOL :D

There is a saying that your daughter is a little girl who will grow up to be your best friend. I am sure that is the case right now. Both my wife and daughter really share a chemistry that really that only they can relate to. It is a special bond that has spun over the years through laughter, worry, smiles and tears; Both of them have a sense of trust that cannot be broken, a depth of love sometimes unspoken. A daughter is indeed a mother's best friend. Don't you agree mothers? :)
