I have enjoyed watching Charlie Day in movies like Horrible Bosses and its sequel, Fist Fight, Vacation, and others. I like his screen presence and find his comedic performances to be very amusing… and yet I still haven’t gotten around to watching a single episode of his sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which is currently sixteen seasons deep. I’m going to check that show out one of these days. In the meantime, Deadline reports that Day is set to star in a murder mystery called Kill Me, and he’s being joined in the cast by Allison Williams of Get Out, M3GAN, and Girls. “Welcome to Kingstown,” Jeremy Renner’s Mike McLusky says in a cool manner just after a clip of him throwing someone off a roof. No pussyfooting around it, the new trailer of the successful Paramount+ series premieres (courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter) declaring that “He’s back in business.” Fans and well-wishers of Jeremy Renner may have been following his updates on his health recovery since his horrific 2023 snow plow accident. It almost seems like he hasn’t missed a beat as Renner makes his acting debut since the incident for season 3 of Mayor of Kingstown. The actor would even convey h ..read more

With all the questions surrounding the next James Bond, Pierce Brosnan has given all of the two cents that he could. He’s dusted off inquiries and given his advice to the possible next actor, straight from his own experience of filling in the tux of the famous Ian Fleming 007 agent. While rumors still run rampant about Aaron Taylor-Johnson being courted for the role, no announcement has been made. However, Brosnan did give his approval of him for the role, saying, “I think the man has the chops and the talent and the charisma to play Bond, very much so.”  Brosnan himself is set to pick u ..read more

Box Office Predictions: Zendaya to top the charts with Challengers

This weekend marks the last quiet at the box office before summer movie season kicks off with The Fall Guy. As such, it’s expected to be a relatively quiet weekend, with nothing expected to make a debut over the mid-to-high teens. Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers is expected to notch an easy win, thanks to the solid reviews (including our own) and the fact that it features one of the biggest stars of the moment, Zendaya. I’m expecting a debut in the $17 million-ish range, which would be a decent start for distributors Amazon-MGM, who will put the film out on Prime Video before too long.  Or ..read more

A few weeks ago I received a rather intriguing invite. VVS Films, one of the biggest film distributors in Canada, invited JoBlo.com to participate in a press junket for the new film, The King Tide, which was to be held in Newfoundland. As a proud Canadian, I was excited, as I had never visited the Maritimes before. Indeed, the studio seemed to be rolling out the red carpet for the assembled press, with us being treated to a wonderful experience in St. John’s, Newfoundland, which included me being “screeched in” (watch it right here) at a local pub (located on St. George Street which has the h ..read more

The Simpsons kills off longtime barfly Larry

Larry Dalrymple, the unassuming barfly and staple of Moe’s Tavern on The Simpsons, was killed off on Sunday’s episode. Barely ever uttering a word – and certainly never having a catchphrase – Larry was a minor player on The Simpsons but no doubt a familiar face, as much of a presence in the tavern as the owner himself. Larry’s last appearance on The Simpsons was season 35’s “Cremains of the Day”, while his first was all the way back on the debut episode, “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire.” Yes, that’s how long Larry has been part of the show. According to one Simpsons wiki, he appeared in mo ..read more
