NEW DELHI: To recoup funds that were improperly taken from investors, market regulator Sebi announced on Monday that it has scheduled 22 properties belonging to seven companies, including the Pailan Group, Vibgyor Group, and GBC Industrial Corp group, for auction on July 8. Teachers’ Welfare Credit and Holding Group, Annex Infrastructure India Ltd., Waris Group, Tower Infotech Group, and other companies will also have their assets up for auction. The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has started the process of taking similar action on another 1,137 projects, while also keeping the registration of 1,750 abandoned housing projects in the state on hold. With 761 projects still unfinished out of these 1,750 total, the Mumbai Metropolitan Area has the most. NEW DELHI: Due to the problem of unpaid checks, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) announced on Wednesday that it will stop accepting property tax payments by check as of July 1.
