Marc Diab was originally from Ain Ebel South Lebanon before he immigrated to Canada with his family and decided to join the Canadian army. However, His dream was always to open a restaurant next to his base in Petawawa, a town in the province of Ontario. Unfortunately, Marc was stationed in Kandahar province in 2009 when a roadside bomb exploded beside the vehicle carrying him and his fellow soldiers. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has appointed this week Farah Dakhlallah as the new NATO spokesperson. Farah had worked before as a communications manager at the WHO and an Arabic spokeswoman for the UK Foreign and Commonwealth office between 2014 and 2016. One of Lebanon’s most prominent actors has passed away today at age 67. Fadi Ibrahim’s health deteriorated last year after a kidney failure and he later on had one of his legs amputated due to diabetes. He had been admitted to intensive care recently and unfortunately did not make it. Fadi Ibrahim leaves behind a wife and two children Stephanie and Omar, not to mention a long lasting legacy through his performances on TV, in the cinema and on stage since the 1980s. The Syrian regime has apparently sent an official letter to the Lebanese government concerning the British-built towers along the border, claiming that they are a “threat to the Syrian National Security”. I remember hearing about a Tiktoker going viral for reviewing bathrooms in luxury stores, claiming that high-end stores should have fancy bathrooms, but my interest in bathroom reviews stopped there. Lebanon’s top prosecutor Ghassan Oueidat has officially left office today following a 5-year tenure from September 2019 to February 2024. Oueidat will leave his post after having reached retirement age, and will be replaced by the President of the seventh Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation, Jamal Hajjar.
