Woman on a Bicycle, Lafayette St, April 2021 One of the most lasting and unexpected impacts of the pandemic on New York City may be the transformation of our city streets. In the first few months of the shutdown, when subways were reserved for essential workers, New Yorkers took to cycling and many of them never stopped.
