I don't wanna take Linear Algebra and Calculus 1 in college. I'd rather skip to the hard stuff and not have to shell out an extra wad of cash

I'm preping for the FE and looking for examples/questions bank that covers Calculus while providing solution with steps (not just final answer) so I can check my steps.
It's the way I learned calc in the beginning (thank you webassign).

Had a question related to basic college algebra asking what the logarythm equates to.
2ln4+2ln1-ln2=ln?
I've never seen it structured this way as it's my first class back. My googling says it's either 8 or 2.07
Can anyone help? It'll keep bugging me until I know it.

E and log used to be so confusing to me, because nobody explained to me their meanings and the math operations behind. So I made the following free course on e and log, hopefully it can help some struggling students.
log and e:

Also we made a course on the project based trig course where several math tools are used to construct a sine table. I feel a project with a clear end goal will be so much better than memorizing various trig identities. Hope you like it!

So I found out, that by manipulating a, b and c for the pythagorean theorem in the way I showed in the title, we always get right a true equation.
I was thinking about how one might proof that property and thought about it that way:
Proof that (ax)^2+(bx)^2=(cx)^2 for all a, b and c for which a^2+b^2=c^2 :
a^2+b^2=c^2
a^2+b^2=c^2 | *x
a^2*x+b^2*x = c^2*x
Now that is still true. Therefore it must also be true for x := x^2
Is that a valid approach?
Thanks in advance

I’d like to improve my maths level, and I don’t know where to start. Therefore, I’d like a roadmap in order to know where I should start learning maths from and watch the appropriate courses for that.

So in a quadratic equation for finding the value of k the roots are given as real(yes only real roots) Should I take k > 0 or k = 0 or both

I’m going into my 3rd year of college, and I switched from a business degree to mechanical engineering last semester. As a business major I took college algebra and than a calculus for business course (that’s basically calc 1 but no trigonometry). I took trigonometry last semester. The problem I am facing is that I never took pre calc, so my ability to simplify algebraic function at the indeterminate form divide by 0 is abysmal. How do tighten up my algebra so I can do well in calc 1. Through business calc I pretty much understand the calculus from derivative to basic integrals using u sub ..read more

Hi, I am a computer science student, and I've been doing a lot of volunteer maths tutoring for the past year and I have really really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I've been finding my computer science courses to be more of a chore. I enjoy the problem solving aspect but I don't really like coding or software design, so I'm constantly second guessing whether a career in software engineering is really for me (and the state of the job markets for grads isn't exactly the best atm). I've decided to finish (or at least attempt to finish) a second major in mathematics, as it will allow me to teach mat ..read more
