With Nate Wiggins now in the fold, the Ravens look ahead to Day 2 of the NFL Draft. We do the same here at Russell Street Report. Kevin McNelis In a lot of ways, the selection of Nate Wiggins at #30 feels like a luxury pick. Sure, the Ravens had a need at CB, but the needs at OT, WR, and maybe even EDGE outweighed CB, for my money. Beyond that, the defense was one of the best in the NFL last year, so it does feel a little odd to take Wiggins there, but they got a premier player and a guy they wanted. The first round of the NFL Draft has come and gone, with the Ravens adding a freak athlete to the cornerback room. With pick No. 30 we have selected CB Nate Wiggins Welcome to Baltimore, @WigginNathanielpic.twitter.com/xhPtL6DCHv — Baltimore Ravens (@Ravens) April 26, 2024 When it comes to Wiggins, I personally really loved his tape, in which his freak athleticism shows up constantly. He is a pure playmaker with great ball skills, and he just has that “It” factor. He is long, fast, and fluid, and I can see why the NFL and the Ravens were high on him. "He's a pure cover corner!" @MoveTheSti ..read more

Six quarterbacks in the first twelve picks The 2024 NFL Draft officially began in Detroit on Friday night. As expected, the Chicago Bears made Caleb Williams the first overall pick. This was followed by a historic flood of offensive players, including six quarterbacks in the first twelve picks. The Atlanta Falcons provided a big surprise in the process. The surprise at the start of the draft failed to materialise: The Chicago Bears used their first-overall pick, obtained in a trade with the Carolina Panthers ahead of the 2023 draft, on Caleb Williams, USC’s star quarterback, as expected. With the 30th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens selected Clemson CB Nate Wiggins. Here’s our detailed scouting report on Wiggins from earlier this month: Prospect Profile: Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson RSR staff react to the pick here. Rob Shields Well, get ready to hear all the normal cliches we hear from the Ravens this time of the year. They ran that pick up and made it fast. They clearly wanted Wiggins seemed surprised he was there. I had the Ravens taking a corner and thought it would be between Kool Aid and Wiggins. I thought DeJean would be gone but maybe there is too muc ..read more
