Lake-Lehman moved back to the top of the Small School girls portion of the rankings when the final Riverfront Sports Super Six Track and Field Power Rankings of District 2 teams were released late Monday night.
The Lady Knights joined the three other district champions in the top spots in the rankings.
Class 3A district champions, the Valley View boys and Abington Heights girls, hold the final No. 1 Big School spots. The Comets moved to the top of the Big School girls rankings in the last set of rankings before the district and state meets.

SCRANTON – The Valley View boys, Abington Heights girls, Mid Valley boys and Lake-Lehman girls took similar approaches to landing on top of the final team standings at the District 2 Track and Field Championships May 15-16 at Scranton Memorial Stadium.
The Cougars, Comets, Spartans and Lady Knights all wound up winning the standings races despite having an opponent that won as many or more of the events.

SHIPPENSBURG – Susquehanna, with Tatum Norris doing all the work, led all District 2 schools in team scoring at the state meet.
The Lady Sabers finished third in Class 2A girls, one year after Norris produced all the points needed for a state championship.
Susquehanna now has a first-, second- and third-place finish as a team at the state track meet. The second-place finish was also the result of one outstanding athlete – Teresa Covert.
Hazleton Area and North Pocono tied for the best boys team finish, coming in 15th in Class 3A.

SHIPPENSBURG – Hazleton Area’s Matthew Cusatis and Susquehanna’s Tatum Norris were not taking success in this year’s state meet for granted.
Norris won three medals last season, including two golds and a silver. Cusatis won two medals in Class 3A, including a silver.
Cusatis repeated his silver in the triple jump despite fouling on five of his six attempts.

SCRANTON – In many ways, the District 2 Track and Field Championships were just getting started Monday.
Just one-third of the events were completed in Class 3A and a little more than that in Class 2A.
But, Wyoming Area’s Madelyn Keating is already well on her way to another big meet in the Mississippi State-bound distance runner’s final appearance at Memorial Stadium.
