If it safely eases congestion, what's the big deal? However, if these controllers get sacked, they should hire them for Manila international flying bus stop where circling while waiting for a slot or waiting for a gate to free up or waiting for push back or queuing for the takeoff runway seems to be standard operating procedure.

I would be surprised if they work for inward non-Thai passports.
That would mean a level of connection on the Thai Immigration system which ties original visa data, together with current extension data - it ain't 'gunna happen.
For example, how do they check that someone on an O-A extension has the required health insurance?
Off course it works for non-Thais. All they seem to check is a valid visa, scan in and process is over in about a minute.
I have used the priority lane a few times this year, works just fine. I wish they had the same for departures when the queues are very long

Maybe the stamp that 98.65% of arriving passengers never bother to look at has finally been deemed superfluous?
