In 2017, I represented a father in an international abduction case involving a child from Paraguay. We filed the case in federal court. To proceed on this case, I had to apply to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, and also, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. We were successful in the trial court. When the mother appealed, we had to respond to the appeal in the 5th Circuit Court. I was honored to argue the appeal before the 5th Circuit justices. We were successful on appeal and the child was returned to Paraguay. Definitely a career ..read more

Whether we are representing clients in marital agreements, custody issues, or divorces, the origin of the parties’ relationship in family law matters is LOVE. I have enjoyed reflecting on my 20-year career. Along the way, I have met many extraordinary people – clients, attorneys, and experts. It brings me so much joy to have so many people supporting my career through the years. At my celebration party a few weeks ago, I asked my guests to share their thoughts by writing on a framed photo, and, I absolutely love the result! I will hang this in my office as a wonderful memory. My hope is that the next 20 years of my career are as bright and rewarding as the first. The post A Rewarding Career first appeared on Waddell Law Firm, P.C.  ..read more

The AAML has a bookstore that publishes books for family lawyers and also family law clients. The “Financial Issues in Divorce” publication was written to assist family law clients with financial issues in divorce cases. I was on a team with 2 other AAML members to contribute to a book previously written by Heather Locus, who is a financial expert with Balasa Dinverno Foltz LLC in Illinois.
