I found myself really drawn to the Rabbit label on seeing the latest collection ‘Lovesick’. The clothes are the stuff of fairytales and magic. They are all about craft and wonderful materials which clash and enhance when worn together,
The label is all the work of Sophie Spratley the 25-year-old Graduate of Kingston School of Art. She grew up in a rural town called Marlow on the river Thames. Some of her earliest memories are of climbing tress in the local forest and tending the family allotment as she grew up.
There is a vintage quality to the clothes. They are influenced by ..read more

We love the conceptual here at Flux. We’re suckers for a theme and a story and have even been known to swoon along to Prog Rock in the office to while away the editorial hours. Conceptual art of course bring it on – and when it comes to conceptual fashion then if it hits right – we go ga-ga.
We have to say then that we are in love with this latest collection from 8IGB Community Clothing for it’s devil-may-care attitude and deliberate flouting of genres. It’s also damned good fashion. It’s giving us a peak into a future where designers will paint with history and give rise to new possibil ..read more

From a Brit School background to absorbing inspiration from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Kumi Keazor tells the story of why he took his up-and-coming namesake brand away from London, where most of his creative contemporaries are based, to an obscure village in the foothills of the French Pyrenees.
Kumi Keazor grew up in Tufnell Park, London, where he attended several schools before settling in a Steiner school which radically changed his education and the way he viewed things creatively. At the age of 14, he was selected for The Brit School and committed himself to an education in art.

We have a soft spot and great respect for Walter van Beirendonck here at Flux. He’s just an inspiring figure. I was full of self doubt and feeling frustrated the day the release about his latest collection plopped into by inbox. This lifted my mood right up. It seems Walter has been inspired by the search for the fabled city of DAWLEETOO. Of course we never got to see the city.
British explorer Alfred Isaac Middleton, who disappeared searching for the city, has gone down in folklore as an exalted but doomed hero. He reached for the skies and was never heard of again. The stori ..read more

I love these this latest collection from Florentina Leitner. It is inspired of course by Joan of Arc. She is a complicated hero. She battled against us English and so was a war hero in her native France.
More lately though she’s seen as a feminist icon. She purportedly cut off of her own hair in order to cement her authority in a male dominated military and there are indeed images from the time which show her with unusually short hair. She was eventually burnt at the stake. It seems the authorities could not copy with a woman of her stature and power in that era.
With her late ..read more
