2006 Navigator check engine light on. Scanner shows P1450 code. Unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum. Replaced gas cap, purge valve, and vapor canister check valve. Light came right back on. Just replaced the gasket on the sunroof glass of our 2005 Expedition. I am pretty sure it had never been replaced as it was tough getting it off. Installing the new one was pretty straightforward but physically hard to do. I used a mixture of dishwashing liquid and water for lube but it still took me quite a while. I currently have a 01 expedition xlt 4.6 and recently I came across the spongy brake issue so i replaced the abs pump with one from the junkyard and bled the brakes, for at least a week it was driving fine i did notice the parking brake was a bit stiff when id push it down. Hi everyone. I'm having an issue and I'm hoping you guys, with relative ease, can help me diagnose it. Please bear with me, ill be as specific as I can. The truck is a 99 Expedition Eddie Bauer with a 5.4 (vin L) and AWD. The issue is that when I try to start the truck (with an original key) "nothing" happens, the truck doesn't even try to start, as if there were no starter, or it had a bad battery. The saga continues. I talked to an auto electric shop about my '04 not starting. They told me to call a local lock smith who is good with the newer electronic equipment. Everything is working, with the exception of no communication in the system. My keys are good, anti-theft isn't tripped and so on. I've got good fuel pressure. He was unable to talk through the OBD port as there was no communication. His $6000 scanner couldn't talk to it. My Fairly deluxe $400 scanner can't read it. I believe I have a dead fuel pump. My '04 will crank just fine and everything is like it should be except it won't start. I hear the relays clicking but the pump doesn't charge the fuel line. I've tried shooting starting fluid into the throttle body but I suspect the computer doesn't fire the ignition if there isn't any pressure. What is a good brand pump to use? My truck has right at 200,000 miles so the pump has probably died. It had to do it right after I filled up too. I have about 7/8 of a tank of fuel to drain or drop. I have a 2000 Ford Expedition and both cigarette lighter ports are always full power. I need to have one of them or both switched on with the key and off. I found that fuse #1 is for the audio that does switch on and off. I just need to get to the wiring on the back of the fuse block to move the lighter wires to #1 from #3. I do not use the lighter anywho but want to use it for a dash cam and not have it full power all the time. Only when driving.
