We have a 1991 500SL (clean title, ~130k miles) that stopped running a while back and my dad got sick of working on it. He parted much of it out and now wants me to get rid of the car. The only local junkyard (so far) that would take it has offered me $100. Just wanted to jump on here and see if it’s worth more than that/if I have any other options. Photos of current state attached. Thanks ..read more

I recently bought a 2018 S560 with around 22,000 miles. The car was checked out by our Mercedes dealership and had no issues according to the dealership. When I drive the car, I’m hearing an intermittent (of course) squeak/clicking sound. it seems to come from the rear passenger area. It seems to be worse on rougher roads. It does not increase or decrease with speed of the car. It starts around 30 mph. I think it’s probably suspension related since it seems to be triggered by slightly rougher roads. On some days it is completely gone. Another day it comes back and you can clearly hear the clic ..read more

I have a w126 81 300sd diesel. I have removed the regulator for the rear drivers window, and am now ready to re install.
there are 3 players in the procedure: 1 the window, 2 the rear channel for the window, 3 the arm from the rack that moves the window.
question: What order do they occupy from the door metal towards the interior.
is it. Glass, channel, regulator
Glass regulator channel
Regulator channel glass……….etc
thanks

I'm having an issue with my car shutting off while I'm driving. I've changed the crankshaft position sensor, MAF sensor, spark plugs and wires, fuel pump, filter and fuel pump relay. There are no error codes or check engine light. Just out of nowhere, the car shuts off. Don't know where to go next. Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks ..read more

155k+ miles. Engine starts to run a bit rough than normal. There is a 9-pin (OBD1?) socket in the engine compartment, right on top of the driver-side wheel well:
How to use this 9-pin socket to run tests and is there a code table available on this forum ..read more

2001 S 500 120k miles
It recently started having some electrical issues. First, the auto-door lock/unlock system and the remote and the trunk opener stopped working.
Next the radio (original) stopped making sound but still turns on and functions otherwise.
Yesterday it went into limp mode and displayed a BAS ESP and Airmatic warnings as well as the Check Engine light went on.
I reset the limp mode and took the car directly to two different auto parts stores where they were unable to pull the codes as apparently the connector under the dashboard isn't getting any power/signal. This morning, all ..read more

In an effort to replace wiper blades I pulled the aim back as much as I can. In doing so I accidently got the tension spring unhooked (don't know how it got loose) from the arm head. Now I have difficulty to get the hook back as it was because I am unable to pull the spring enough - with a long nose plier - to get the hook on again, even with the arm off the motor housing.
I need advice on ways to get the spring hook back on again. Thank you ..read more
