Hello everyone. Just a heads up for those with a HEV or/and PHEV version of the Sportage as there is a potential issue with the pressed felt type cover that covers the battery area on the underside. Beneath the front passengers side the two small 10mm retaining bolts at the front are not up to the job in holding the felt in position. Due to the velocity underneath the wind forces this moulded felt cover downwards and eventually pulls through the bold heads... Issue encountered to underside ..read more

Hi folks just wondering if anyone has any bother with the switch for applying the handbrake on a new sportage ? Had my Sportage PHEV for a couple of weeks and all was going well. Several short journeys and was charging fine from my Hypervolt charger at home. Now it won't charge at all. When I plug it in it begins charging but within a few seconds the light on the outside next to the charging port flashes red and it stops charging. The orange engine light also came on and stayed on, on the dashboard. It's been to the dealer and they tested it with their charger with the same results. They checked... I am seeing more and more Sportages now (common as muck lol) and every time I see a Blue Flame I always look to see if it has the black roof like mine and they never do. For those that might not be aware this combination was dropped around 6 months after the Sportage launched and with the increased delays of having the black roof (back in the day) it wasn't a popular choice.
