Loooong time VDubber, new here. Posted on Vortex in the sportwagen forum and got zero response. 2016 Sportwagen manual transmission. I've got a stutter and sometimes more extended loss of power that seems to only show up after a heat soak -- stop light or stopping for errands. Seems to be getting much worse, I think because the weather is warming. 95k miles now. Valves walnut blasted at 93k, coil packs and plugs replaced at 91k. Air filter changed then too. Hi all, I have a late 2017 2.0 TDI with around 120,000 kms (75000 miles) on the clock. Last Saturday I started the car and as soon as I took off there was no power in the car then suddenly it would lurch / jerk and again no power. The day prior everything was working fine. I had the car towed to my mechanic who found it was a clogged DPF and they managed to do a forced regeneration and got it cleared. Hi All I recently bought a 2020 1.5 TSI 150hp DSG Golf, one owner with 18k miles on the clock. For context, I came from a 2016 Skoda Octavia 1.4 TSI DSG. This car was extremely smooth, not once did I ever feel the gears change. They changed instantly and smoothly, even in stop start traffic. This was also the case on my new Golf for the first few times I drove it. I've also not had any issues on hot days. Hi all, New to this please bear with me. The engine sounds absolutely fine but underneath the usual noise, what I can only describe as a hum, almost the noise of a diesel engine, it's a static noise and even in 6th gear, it sounds like the engine wants you to change gear. I have tried to get a video but the noise of the normal engine sound is too dominating. Sounds like I'm getting some chain slap on start up once in a while, goes away quickly but it's there. Anyone have experience with this on the gen 3 1.8 or 2.0? What I'm really looking for are the channels to look at and specs for the chain to check for stretch - I'm guessing it's just the tensioner and the chain is fine. 78K miles, tuned/driven hard since new so this isn't a shocker ..read more
