I always thought that the G8 should have come with paddle shifters of some sort. With the help of prrii i was able to copy his work and make a test board to make the car shift up and down with the push of a external button. He has mounted a set of paddles to the steering column and has been successfully using them for a little while now. So guys a little back story, the GT I had was totaled. Some moderate front driver side damage. I bought it back because the insurance offered 10k back with the buy back. 13 without it. The motor still runs which is why I opted for the buy back. Already have a donor Base model and the people to help me move everything over. I have read many threads on rear end swaps but I cannot find a definitive answer on what is involved in swapping a 2.92 posi out a GT into a base V6. Obviously the mountings are the same. What I would like to know, is if this is a straight bolt-in swap? The questions really are: Is the pinion flange the same between V6 and GT? Will the V6 axles fit in the GT rear end? Just had a new gm trans installed along with a yankss 2800, and now the car will not crank. Scan tool is not able to communicate with ecm. Trans was flashed successfully with a new stock file. The shop said its nothing they did that would cause this issue....they inspected the wires and fuses and pulled the ecm off and bench tested it and it communicated perfectly. They tried using my efi live autocal and got the ecm communication error. I am picking it up tomorrow to have it towed to a... New trans and car won't crank ..read more
