Ford diesel fuel leaks have prompted an investigation into 210,960 model year 2015–2021 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty trucks with 6.7-L diesel engines. So far, the Office of Defect Investigation has received 27 complaints alleging diesel fuel leaks, 12 of which describe crashes and/or engine compartment fires, and three of which describe four injuries. Ford’s failing tail lights have prompted a recall of approximately 242,669 model year 2022-2024 Ford Maverick pickup trucks. An electrical issue (which does not seem to affect headlights, stop lamps or turn signal functions) stems from the Body Control Module falsely detecting a current overload on one or both of the rear position lamp circuits. A Ford Explorer lawsuit alleges that Ford used defective subframes on 2020-2023 Ford Explorer vehicles as a cost-saving measure and failed to fix them during a rear axle bolt recall. Federal authorities expanded a Honda CMBS investigation to include close to 3 million Honda Accord and Honda CR-V vehicles. The initial Honda CMBS investigation involved a preliminary evaluation into 2017-2019 Honda CR-V and 2018-2019 Honda Accord vehicles. Ford is recalling certain 2021–2023 Bronco Sport and 2022–2023 Maverick vehicles because failure to detect low battery could result in a loss of drive power. Ford’s remedy for an expanded fuel injector recall is under federal investigation because the faulty component is not being replaced. Recently, Ford expanded a recall to include 42,652 model year 2022–2023 Ford Bronco Sport and 2022 Ford Escape SUVs with 1.5-L engines because a cracked fuel injector can leak fuel or fuel vapor, leading to under-hood fires.
