Hello! I am a newer hunter in Chicago hoping to connect with folks in the area with dogs that would be open to hunting with me a couple of times this year. While I had a couple experiences hunting pheasants as a kid, I really only this year started hunting in earnest as an adult in my early 30s. This year Chain O Lakes state park is now closed for controlled Pheasant hunting. Silver Springs state park is back to being run by the state and has reduced its days per week from 5 down to 3. Des Plains Conservation area remains the same for now but when you look at the available permits there are plenty left for all dates. I will be visiting family near Bloomington over Christmas. I would really like to introduce my 2 brother-in-laws to pheasant hunting.
