The tamariki have been so busy this week practising to put on a fantastic show for you all this Sunday! In between rehearsals at the church and constant Christmas songs playing in our brains, the children have also been enjoying creating some Christmas artwork. Not pictured are the wonderful Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, shepherds, animals, angels and stars that are gracing our project wall – you will see even more in the church on Sunday. But besides these, the children have made paper snowflakes, Santa sacks, angels, and even a life-size Santa Claus. The jury is still out on this last one ..read more

We are very happy that we will remain closed in Level 3 to keep our children, families and staff safe but If your circumstances change please contact us. The Early Childhood Council is fighting for all Childcare Centres to stay closed under Level 3. It is impossible to safely open and keep a 3-metre distance from each other. Three babies over the weekend contacted C-19 in NZ and there are 34 cases of children under the age of 9 with C-19. Of all cases 25% where asymptomatic so we could have children coming into the Centre with no symptoms spreading it to other children and staff. I ..read more

Our current projects, ‘Dinosaurs’ and ‘Bird’s Nest’, continue to attract interest. Different learning activities from these emerged. As a result, new curiosities were revealed driven by these, and the children will inform us where and when to unveil our new project theme. Our BIBLE story for this week, ‘The Red Sea’, has taught the children the importance of “Trusting in the Lord even when you are scared, ” which is an essential mindset during this pandemic. Moreover, children also had a great time watching and listening to the orchestra led by the ākonga of Milford Primary School. We would li ..read more

Morena tamariki and whanau, Firstly, Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you all had a beautiful day, got lot’s of kisses, heaps of hugs and a delicious dinner. Today I have a science experiment for you (it is one of my favourites!). We are dying flowers and plants! You will need some food colouring, cups or jars, flowers/ cabbage (or something similar) and a bit patience… Place each flower or item in the glass with food colouring and wait for it to drink up the colour- this will take a few hours.  To extend this activity you can split the stem and place each side into different colours. Or once ..read more

Morena all – it’s your personal trainer back with another workout! I came across this one and thought it looked like fun. It’s HIIT style so it won’t take long but you’ll need a timer – some bonus mathematical learning in there too!  The post Animal Fitness Challenge appeared first on Milford Baptist Kindergarten ..read more
