There have been 4 Ice Miles recorded in New Zealand in 2022. The Ice swimmers are Tim Dutton, Simon Olliver (twice) and Nick Shanks. The swims were all done in Canterbury, New Zealand, some in Lake Pearson, and some in Lake Lyndon. Simon now has 5 Ice Miles to his credit.
On the other side of the world another New Zealander, David Coleman, did an Ice Mile at The Falcon, Castle Ashby, Northamptonshire, UK.
David & Simon have both done 5 Ice Miles, and one of Simon’s qualifies as an Extreme Ice Mile
Well done to Simon, David, Nick and Tim ..read more

Kia ora! I’m Rebecca Hollingsworth, a Wellington ocean swimmer. I rediscovered my love for swimming over 10 years ago and have been marathon swimming (10km+) since 2014. In this time, I’ve had the chance to do some pretty epic swims around the world – Samoa, Rottnest Channel in Perth, Lake Windermere in the UK, the ‘SCAR’ swim series in Arizona, and here at home – Lake Taupo, Cook Strait and most recently, double Lake Taupo (80.4km).
About to start her Ice mile in Lake Lyndon, Christchurch, New Zealand
I accidentally came across ice swimming while I was visiting Munich in 2017 thro ..read more

I am (2000 – current) a front-line Paramedic in South Auckland. I offer bucket loads of experience and a very level head. Able to think under immense pressure. Sound knowledge of the Biological and Physiological needs of swimmers (especially Ice Swimmers). I am able also to offer psychological support for each swimmer. I believe that as the current IISANZ medic I have come to know many swimmers, their needs, and their individual nuances/swim styles and abilities, which, if selected would be a great advantage to the team.
On a more personal note, I offer a great at ..read more

Hello! My name is Jono Ridler, one of the many obsessed (for good reason) open-water swimmers based out of Auckland, New Zealand. After a childhood of mostly despising swimming lessons and being a very average swimmer, I returned to the sport in 2011 at 21 years old, completing a 3-kilometre ocean swim across the Auckland Harbour. I was hooked! Several years later in 2016, I completed my first marathon swim, equivalent to 10 kilometres. My level of interest in open-water swimming reached a whole new level, and it opened my mind to what else I could achieve. Now a few years on since that first ..read more
