In celebration of World Literacy Day, Boh visited Sunnyvale Primary School in West Auckland in association with the Mazda Foundation and Duffy Books in Homes. She read her book The Lotus and The Snowbird to 40 students from the Ngā Kākano Māori bilingual class, and gifted them each a copy to take home.
Duffy Books in Homes exists to inspire a love of books in children so they become adults who love to read. One dollar from every copy of The Lotus and The Snowbird sold will be donated to Duffy.

When it comes to storytelling, there is nothing more evocative than a tale told alongside the most perfect of pictures, they capture your imagination and reel you into the page. Meet Elayne Chan, the talented illustrator of The Lotus and The Snowbird. 8 years in the industry and now mainly working in film and television as a storyboard artist, Elayne has taken my simple etchy sketch briefs and breathed life into the words and characters.
1. We are loving the imagery you have married alongside the story of The Lotus and the Snowbird. Was drawing always a passion for you ..read more

Today, we get to find out a little about a wonderful cause that we at Boh Runga Design are supporting with a dollar donation from every sale of The Lotus and The Snowbird storybook.
I talk with Linda Vagana, the GM of Duffy Books in Homes about what her and her team are doing to help inspire and encourage our tamariki.

Meet my Partner in Shine, Toyah Attwell.
Toyah is my friend, business partner and managing director of Boh Runga Design. The "left brain" to my right, Boh Runga Jewellery has made great leaps and bounds since the partnership. A timely suggestion by her at the end of 2019 to analyse and concentrate on the online side of our business meant that we kept our heads above water during what was to become years of great uncertainty and major adjustment for many SMBs facing the impacts of a pandemic.
A year on from the birth of her daughter Marlie, Toyah shares some of her learnings; the val ..read more

Welcome to Take 5 where I take 5 questions to some lovely people I know (and some I don’t) and they tell us a little about themselves.
This Take 5 is a little different as I am talking with a critter. A very small, critter that needs our help.
The Tara Iti is one of our rarest and most threatened species. This critically endangered bird has only 16 breeding pairs left in Aotearoa, with 12 pairs surviving on beaches between Whangarei and Auckland. The Endangered Species Foundation has identified tara iti (the New Zealand Fairy Tern) in its Top Ten Most Endangered Species List ..read more

There are so very many people that I would love to thank for making the last 15 Years possible, and I am sure that I will miss some, and I apologise for that in advance. I will correct and add if/ when that happens.
These thank yous are specific to those who have been part of my jewellery journey so there are very many to name. Sort of in chronological order…
Sophia Runga, Joseph Te Okoro Runga, Pearl Runga, Bic Runga, my family who was so pleased for me when I started my designing foray and who have always been there.
Deborah Pead, who made the introductions that set the ball rolling and ..read more
