I had to meet with the building inspector and the contractor that is replacing our deck at the cabin today at noon so I left a little early and got in some fishing time. I launched on the west side walk-in-access area about 7;30 and fished until about 11:30 using a medium sinking line. I tried several different flies and almost all of them caught some fish. The best producers were and size 8 short shank (1X) bead head (white) tan tinsel soft hackle, size 8 bead...

I didn't get any pictures of last night. I was too busy. I took a friend from Cheyenne and his son fishing on a reservoir out here in the prairie. I loaded up my two boys and off we went. I stopped at Cabela's to get some minnows (live bait is legal here) but they were out. CRAP!!!! I grabbed some worms but was a little nervous. I called my friend and asked if he could get some minnows. He called around and JAX had them. He texted 6 doz headed your way. He didn't think I was...

We got to take the boat out on the pond Monday. Wow, was it ever a great day to be on the water! it was just dead calm most of the morning. Almost too calm. The midges were thick (you can see them in the first picture)! A breeze came up at 11, and then died again about 12:30. It was HOT!
Fishing was OK. We were getting enough action to keep it interesting. I think we boated ~12 fish. I also think we caught the same fish 11 times.
All were 16-17". All are FAT. They fight...

Hit the lake this morning. Started slow and seemed to be picking up, but our legs were numb so we left with only two. They were both over 12" and fat! It was shoulder to shoulder, but everyone was being friendly and helping each other out. It was a good time ..read more

I haven't been out fishing for awhile due to a number of more important things and the danged wind. I decided that the wind wasn't going to quit so I just went for it.
I Launched the old tube about 8:30 and fished until 1:30 using a type 8 sinking line and some bead head buggers and leech patterns in size 8. I picked up my first fish in 15 minutes and thought this going to be fun. Three hours later I picked up my second fish. I ended up with four...

I made it over to our multi species pond today in search of something for dinner. I launched my tube at the boat ramp about 10:00 and fished until about 2:00 using my usual fly tackle. I used my type 8 sinking line and some size 6 bead head crystal buggers in 15' - 30' of water. I picked up a couple of 15" - 16" rainbows, a few catfish from 13" to 20" with one of them going 3 lbs. 5 oz., and one 17" wiper. My wife has been asking me to bring home a wiper for...

After my dad hit the Berry on Thursday for ice off I was itching to get up there. Finally a break in the weather (kinda) and a day off for the GF. Today was the day.
11:00 Arrived to a whole lot of open water. No ice to be found where I was. We hiked over to an area of shore that was semi protected from the ever loving Strawberry breeze. Fished for a couple hours. I threw flies. All my fish were on buggars with black as the dominant color. Landed 8 with one being a small planter size...

I posted this short report back in March on another board. Recently got the mount back and just thought I'd share. This is a Golden Rainbow aka Palomino.
On a gloomy day saturday morning we headed out after a fish I've been hunting for 1 1/2 years. The further we drove the worse the weather got. I was a bit worried that the water would be frozen but had to check it out anyways. It is in an area that gets plenty of runoff and with the most recent warming I had my fingers crossed. Upon...
