We got to take the boat out on the pond Monday. Wow, was it ever a great day to be on the water! it was just dead calm most of the morning. Almost too calm. The midges were thick (you can see them in the first picture)! A breeze came up at 11, and then died again about 12:30. It was HOT! Fishing was OK. I made it over to our multi species pond today in search of something for dinner. I launched my tube at the boat ramp about 10:00 and fished until about 2:00 using my usual fly tackle. I used my type 8 sinking line and some size 6 bead head crystal buggers in 15' - 30' of water. After my dad hit the Berry on Thursday for ice off I was itching to get up there. Finally a break in the weather (kinda) and a day off for the GF. Today was the day. 11:00 Arrived to a whole lot of open water. No ice to be found where I was. We hiked over to an area of shore that was semi protected from the ever loving Strawberry breeze.
