My entry of the British Journal of Photography 'Portrait of Britain 2018' features my Father-in-Law. A brave decision - maybe, particularly if the entry fails! It was a great shoot as my initial idea was to try and get him looking quite serious. I should have known after 15 years of shooting portraits and headshots that trying to get a naturally happy man to look glum was never going to work. A pre-COVID PR shoot with a Premier League footballer would normally involve an entourage of people from stylists, to clients, to agents. Last weeks shoot with Everton’s Gylfi Sigurdsson for STATE ENERGY was a little different.
