An entrance with a twist at this Surrey Festival Wedding Festival wedding photography was never boring at this unique festival wedding set in the Surrey countryside.  Imagine brainstorming all the ideas for arriving at your wedding. Taxi – boring.  Classic car – done to death.  Horse and carriage – a bit… old school? And then you hit on the answer! An army tank! When was the last time you saw someone arrive for their wedding in a tank?  (Now… where do we find ourselves a tank?) This kind of impactful arrival to a wedding is a photographer’s dream, and a typically unconventi ..read more

Intimate London wedding in historic Chelsea Michael and Gerard pipped for a small and intimate wedding with an old London vibe.  They set their wedding day in historic Chelsea, kicking off with a ceremony at Chelsea Old Town Hall.  This is a stunning Grade II listed building dating back to late Victorian times. Everyone gathered outside, greeting the grooms as they arrived, excitedly catching up with one another before entering the building.  The Chelsea Old Town Hall interiors were gorgeous; high ceilings, feature arches and large globe pendant lights – giving a beautiful art d ..read more

Sophisticated Cotswolds Wedding at Elmore Court Kate and Jack pulled out all the stops for their stunning wedding deep in the Gloucestershire countryside.  With views across the Cotswolds, Elmore Court is a Grade II listed mansion in Gloucestershire.  Its huge stately rooms, stained glass and extensive grounds were perfect for this sophisticated English wedding. I shot Kate and Jack’s wedding shortly after a visit to see my niece and nephew who live in Canada. When I was waiting patiently outside Kate’s room for her to get into her dress I heard ‘Uncle Mike’ exclaimed from inside the ..read more

Colourful Birmingham wedding with energy and heart This wedding was particularly special to me.  Being neurodiverse often presents challenges.  But bride Lauren is a living example of turning it into a super power and she sends out a strong message to just be yourself, no matter what.  She is wild, courageous and I LOVE her!  This wedding was a visual treat; a non stop kaleidoscope of animated people, FUN times, and with no shortage of heart too.  I could go on but I won’t.  There’s so much more to talk about re: this wedding, and Lauren is the perfect person to b ..read more

Anyone for a hay bale fight? There are two types of wedding guest in this world – those who will run away from a hay fight, and those who love to get stuck in.  The guests at this bohemian festival wedding, were definitely the latter. Festival wedding at Radford Mill Farm This made Radford Mill Farm a great location for Sarah and Harry’s wedding photography.  Sarah explains: ‘It took us a while to figure out how to do a wedding in our own way. Neither of us are traditional, and neither of us knew where to start, but we figured it out along the way. ‘We wanted a laid back ..read more

This year I wanted to spend Christmas with my parents. After a couple of very dull Christmases at home during the pandemic, I wanted to do something a little bit different. My parents live part time in a motorhome and have spent the last couple of winters down on the Algarve coast, and that’s where they were this year too. They stay on a campsite in Albufeira, not too far from Faro and I booked myself an apartment close by. It had a lovely balcony with an incredible view of the ocean and the old town in Albufeira. Getting back out there It’s been a long time since I’ve felt like going on a ph ..read more

Catching up post pandemic I fell quite behind during the pandemic with blogging my work and so in an effort to catch up a little, I bring you this glorious day celebrating the marriage of Jen & Alex up in Edinburgh, during that magical time running up to Christmas. I sent Jen a few questions as it’s nice to include some words here from the couple. Jen has been very thorough, so I need to stop writing now and hand you over to hear it from them! How they met We were friends for years before we got together (finally!). We went to Edinburgh for the day on our first date to see the pandas at E ..read more
