Look at this equation. Clearly this is not solvable. but a=c=0 reduces the equation which gives two solutions. now I want to find an approximate solution of the original equation which gives the same solution of the reduced equation after substituting a=c=0 in the solution. Is there any way to do that? Thanks in advance. &[Wolfram Notebook][1] [1]: https://www.wolframcloud.com/obj/2ac28004-9ba3-4a0e-9d54-7ae523969098 ..read more

Hello, everyone! Can you please help me to solve the equation algebraically: (26 + 18 x)/(2 Sqrt[91 + 26 x + 9 x^2]) + (33 + 64 x)/( 2 Sqrt[70 + 33 x + 32 x^2]) + (39 + 74 x)/( 2 Sqrt[49 + 39 x + 37 x^2]) + (40 + 132 x)/( 2 Sqrt[8 + 40 x + 66 x^2]) + (91 + 190 x)/( 2 Sqrt[90 + 91 x + 95 x^2]) == 0. I have no idea... Wolfram Mathematica cannot solve it too ..read more

I am trying to find numerical solutions for this system of trig equations: a = -1/3; R[\[Alpha]_,\[Beta]_,\[Gamma]_] = {{1, 0, 0}, {0, Cos[\[Alpha]], -Sin[\[Alpha]]},{0, Sin[\[Alpha]],Cos[\[Alpha]]}}. {{Cos[\[Beta]],0,Sin[\[Beta]]},{0,1, 0},{-Sin[\[Beta]],0,Cos[\[Beta]]}} . {{Cos[\[Gamma]], -Sin[\[Gamma]],0},{Sin[\[Gamma]],Cos[\[Gamma]],0},{0,0,1}}; a1 = {1, -1, 1}/Sqrt[3]; a2 = {1, 1, -1}/Sqrt[3]; b1 = R[10 * Degree, 45*Degree, 20*Degree].a1; b2 =R[10 * Degree, 45*Degree, 20*Degree].a2; A1 = R[10 * Degree, 20 * Degree, 30* Degree].a1; A2 = R[10 * Degree, 20 * Degree, 30* Degree].a2; B1 = R[10 ..read more

Unhappy with existing ellipse fitting I present a function based on Linear Least Squares and SVD, the latter symbolically resolved and not directly used/performed for the actual fit calculation. &[Wolfram Notebook][1] [1]: https://www.wolframcloud.com/obj/2ef6c23d-1651-4eb2-af93-7f302c46cac5 ..read more

I'm totally new to Mathematica. I defined a simple matrix and I tried to query the elements of the matrix but I keep getting an error as shown in the figure attached. I don't know if I'm doing a mistake in the syntax or this is a bug. ![Error][1] [1]: https://community.wolfram.com//c/portal/getImageAttachment?filename=image_2024-05-06_234946427.png&userId=3080143 As a follow up to this question, another simple issue I'm facing is when I tried to evaluate some quantities I get a huge output with most of the terms multiplied by zero. Why is mathematica not making them zero, even when used wi ..read more

Hi I hope you are all doing well, I have these two matrix that I want to use at the end to get a plot the plot is correct but its in function of the number of points I want the plot to be in function of r. I know the problem is with the expressions "g" but I don't know how to solve it, If any of you have a clue It would help me a lot.
