Produced by Tyson and Ryon Horne, The South Got Something To Say pulls footage from an archive, spanning the first 50 years of hip-hop as well as interviews with Atlanta icons.  Growing up as an aspiring rapper in Macon, GA in the 90’s, I aspired to reach the heights that these artists reached as natives of the Georgia hip-hop scene.  As I was watching the documentary, I was taken back to those times in my mind’s eye.  My cousins and I would spend nights and weekends “freestyling” over many of the beats from these artists.  I was honored to ask the producers of the ..read more

The Idea of You, stars Anne Hathaway as Solene and Nicholas Galitzine as Hayes Campbell of the popular fiction boy band August Moon. As someone who loves music, and boy bands like One Direction,  the actors did amazing at their portrayal and not making fun of boy bands, as they genuinely enjoyed being members of a band.  The book based on the film  written by Robinne Lee, is a fan fiction about Harry Styles, formerly of One Direction, which by the way isn't necessarily about him. I do, however, feel as though Nicholas Galtzine, cast as the lead character of Hayes, was a grea ..read more

Growing up in the 80s and 90s was a different time musically. Radio was king, and there were few other alternatives to hear the latest music. I remember listening to the radio with my dad as we grilled hamburgers on Saturday nights, and the smooth sultry sounds of “Lutha,” better known as Luther Vandross, would come on the radio. His music was a soundtrack of sorts for my childhood. From the jingles to the slow jams and even the song “Here and Now” which was sung at my aunt and uncle’s wedding. His music connected to fond childhood memories, and why I was excited to screen the Luther: Never ..read more
