I am very new to fire alarm and never really tested or troubleshoot fire alarm circuits.
I was tasked to troubleshoot fire alarm recently and I understand the loop and the E.O.L concepts, But I don't know how to test smoke detectors with data wires connecting them together.
Basically I was told that data wires are linked between smoke detectors and then connected to the fire alarm panel. They are not in a loop. And I was told if the data circuit is working, you should be able to get a...

I got a request to install a 120V indoor (mechanical room) smoke detector that can trigger an outdoor strobe if an alarm were to go off. It's in an outbuilding with some equipment in it, in the middle of a property. It was built before a lot of code requirements were in place and the owners want just a little notice if something goes wrong.
I requested parts from my wholesaler, separate smoke and strobe that can work together, but was told nothing like that exists. Does anyone have...

One of my jobs I missed something on the new addition...
The orginal EOL Horn strobe will extend to new horn stone locations creating a new EOL downstream.
The engineer added a Horn strobe 12 feet over from the original EOL and I'm only assuming they forget about that location. All wire is in place. So I could either re route wire, keep both locations near each other, or just splice in that j box and eliminate old device location and put a blank
Are there strict rules to splicing fire...

I recently acquired a Simplex 4208 out of an abandoned school and I usually know how these things work but this one is a mystery to me! It’s a type 72c panel and supposedly it was directly tied to a remote station at the local fire department. I don’t see where that’s possible inside the panel as the hardware doesn’t look set up for that type of work. But I can’t seem to figure out how to wire the circuit for the pull stations and for the Horns/lights! I have the manual to it but I can’t...
