Hello. My first official post here. I'm writing the biography of the Texan born actress Fran Fullenwider (1945-1997). The house pictured was her childhood home and the address was 1, Beckham Road, Harlingen, Texas. Can anyone tell me if this house is still standing and if not when and why was it demolished. The photo is circa 1955 ..read more

There should be an observation tower or observation wheel built in the Downtown area of Fort Worth, Texas or close to Downtown as the city currently does not have such an attraction. Downtown Dallas has Reunion Tower year round with the Texas Star and Top O Tower at Fair Park open during the State Fair. Grapevine has the Grapevine Main Tower and The Colony has The Grandscape Wheel. Arlington has the Oil Derrick Observation Tower at Six Flags. The proposal that would be best suited for... Although Austin has an observation deck at the top of UT Tower, access is limited to certain days and with guided tours. This is why someone proposed the Signature Tower as Austin lacks a mass market observation deck and revolving restaurant like what is seen at Reunion Tower in Dallas or the Tower of the Americas in San Antonio. However, FAA regulations and the proximity to Austin Bergstrum Airport might mean the height of the tower being shortened from the proposed 1,111 feet. However... Houston is currently expanding a few freeways in the area, none bigger than the 20+ lane Katy freeway. My question is why instead of making a 20+ lane freeway don't they just tackle their mass transit problem and lay rail in the middle that could take the place of about 4 lanes. They could do this on all their freeways. Rail could run on I 10 going west from downtown to Katy, it could go east to at least the Beltway. 45 could have it run north to the airport and south to Galveston with... Houston Rail ..read more
