I forgot to disconnect the ABS connector during the bleed process. Will this cause air to be stuck in the ABS during a wheel bleed? Statistics: Posted by ChadS — Sat Jun 01, 2024 12:27 pm ..read more

The FSM won't say it, but the ABS's have their own internal reservoirs which may also need to be bled when replacing a MC. Just bleeding the MC and wheels won't always do it. Either disconnect the battery or pop the ABS connector while bleeding. Do the two ABS inlet lines first and then the four outlets, then re-bleed the wheels. Also, while the MC was out, did you inspect the booster to make sure there was no intrusion of brake fluid? That can happen when a MC rear seal goes bad, and resulting softening of the rubber diaphragm will usually cause sponge in the pedal. Statistics: Posted by VSt ..read more

I have a 2009 nissan frontier with traction control. I was having problems with the pedal sinking to the floor so I replace the master cylinder. I performed a bench bleed on the MC and brake bleed on all wheels. The pedal is better and no longer sinking to the floor but it still feels spongy. Does anyone have some tips on how to improve the pedal response? Statistics: Posted by ChadS — Sat Jun 01, 2024 11:11 am ..read more

First time jacking a vehicle from the middle of the car....all because of how Mercedes set up these stupid jacking points with nowhere to set a jack and stands. Anyway, I positioned the jack on that middle bar that goes from one side to the other in the middle of the wheel. The problem is the jack starts to slip forward off the truck once I reach a certain height (wheels barely leaving the ground, but not enough to remove them). Basically the jack doesn't seem to be rolling as the truck is lifting. The wheels of the jack move perfectly fine and there is no debris on the road (asphalt). I tried ..read more

It's now officially open season on any politician who any Podunk prosecutor happens to disagree with. I can only hope SCOTUS has the good sense to step in and squash this like the poisonous bug it is. If not, well... I've said it repeatedly and I'll say it again: Bienvenidos a Venezuela. They're pretty much always metal on the transmission shaft, the driven gears are pretty much always nylon. On a manual trans the drive gear is usually a separate piece, on an A/T they're typically machined into the output shaft. If it has a cable drive with gears inside the speedo head (some older ones do), those will be all nylon to keep the noise to a minimum. We have sparse Micra documentation here in the 'States except for a few K14 years, so I can't tell you for sure on your ride. Statistics: Posted by VStar650CL — Sat Jun 01, 2024 5:41 am ..read more

Issues with the O2 sensors often show up only when the engine reaches temperature. When the engine is cold the ECM runs the injectors "open loop" and isn't looking at the cats or sensors, it's using a map in memory. Once the temp comes up it will attempt to run "closed loop" using the front O2's for mixture guidance. If those aren't working right, the car will poop out or misbehave as soon as it reaches temperature. Statistics: Posted by VStar650CL — Sat Jun 01, 2024 5:17 am ..read more

The Rogues and Pathies only have backlighting on the switch, there's no indicator like the Frontier. I presume that's because you're getting an indication in the cluster, so an on-off lamp would be redundant. Statistics: Posted by VStar650CL — Sat Jun 01, 2024 5:11 am ..read more
